Loved Bastian Vibes!
We recently visited Bastian at the top to celebrate my birthday. We called to make a reservation and secured a two-hour slot for the same evening. They informed us that we needed to arrive on time, as they would only hold the table for 20 minutes after the scheduled time. We arrived promptly and were seated at our table on the 48th floor, offering a stunning view through the long windows. Bastian has a cave-based theme with beautifully decorated antiques. From their moving lamps to the tall Laughing Buddha statue, everything was spectacular. The restaurant features a large comfortable seating area, and guests can also enjoy the pool area. The menu had limited options for vegetarians, but the staff was polite and accommodating, customizing a few dishes for us. We ordered Brazilian rolls, Crispy Tofu, Szechuan String Beans, and Malaysian Flat Noodles. Each item was generously portioned, and we couldn't finish everything, so we packed the leftovers. For drinks, they offer non-alcoholic options and herbal teas. We chose Iced Tea and Jasmine Tea. For dessert, we had the Lotus Kunafa Cheesecake, which was divine in taste and truly flavorful. I highly recommend it to everyone. DON’T MISS IT! Despite reading negative reviews, we had an amazing experience. The staff was courteous, the ambiance was fantastic, and we loved the food. CRAP TASTELESS FOOD & CRAP SERVICE-AVOID IT
Bastian is just a place to be seen and for your instagram. Absolutely appalling service. It’s totally avoidable a flop show. Never again will I go this place People need to stop going to this place and giving them business We had to repeatedly remind them to bring us our drinks, then a couple for more reminders that we are waiting for the mixers and ice. Then when I asked for a suggestion… what would go with their mushroom rice is as told Garlic vegetable rice 🤦🏽 ♀️.. and not once 3 times till I got irritated and said I did not want to order with the man, however another staff member (no 2) took our order.. but it doesn’t end there! We were actually given a dish which I ordered with waiter number 1 irrespective of telling them I don’t want to order with him and to cancel the order after which I ordered with No2. Even tho I said I don’t want it they left it on our table saying please please mam!!! 🙄 I told them I would not be paying for the dish as I did not order them, it was added to the bill Rs1600 and when I called the manager to speak to him to take it off he just refused to do so and kept asking me to repeat what had happened .. which I did 3 times 🤦🏽 ♀️🤦🏽 ♀️🤦🏽 ♀️ Honestly speaking the staff there just does not understand anything and there is ZERO service. Crap place and crap service ! JUST A HYPE
Waste of time waste of money
Go there for the view as for the service that will depend on whether the restaurant staff thinks you look HNI enough for them OR you are willing to raise your voice before your “peaceful” dinner. Horrible staff especially the reception on the ground floor more so once you step out of the lift. There like 5 of them waiting at 48 floor once the lift door opens to assess you based on your looks and dressing may be surname as well. The staff doesn’t know H of hospitality! I had booked a table one week in advance for my mother’s birthday - before I get to the actual place a bit about the booking experience. No one replies to WhatsApp messages on +91 70450 83714 (bastian WhatsApp) Or +91 22-50333555 (so called telephone number) only way to get through the telephone number is dial 3 once ivr answers. The number 3 option is booking line / call centre line as I was told by the person who answered the call and apparently who doesn’t sit at the restaurant and cannot assure you anything at all: 1. A table (for 6 - btw please note if you ask for table of 6 and later add more guests they will make that table of 6 accommodate that many more people). Or 2. The view (I requested for window table to enjoy the view - was categorically told not possible one staff at the restaurant can assign tables. This is absurd if you are expected to book a week atleast before) Or 3. Whether food requests would be accepted (subject to the chef decision and fancy / he decides is what I was told) Fortunately we went on weekday so didn’t have to pay ₹2000 per person and child was graciously free. We go to bastian at the top to celebrate my mothers birthday what follows was total horrible experience We step out of the lift I met an acquaintance (not with me but come to meet someone) in the lift and we were talking whilst this tall gentleman is standing on our head like we have gate crashed. I was asked for reservations details which I gavez Next we are escorted to the table with a view !! What a view it was right in the centre of the restaurant with view of walls and all the neighbouring tables prying into what are you eating. I initially politely asked that I had called a week in advance for a table with a view how come they give this table to us in centre of restaurant surrounded by other tables ? His reply was ma’am sorry but we were not told any such request of yours anyways tables near the windows are first come first basis ( which was never once mentioned to me by one one from the call centre - as I was told repeatedly by different executives at call centre was ma’am it’s not in our control but restaurant allocates tables based on reservation) since a week I had been hounding them. I saw a table of 12 empty and I asked what about that - and what am I told ma’am that table is reserved !! At that point I lost my cool and told him he is contradicting himself he has the audacity to tell me that only that particular table is reserved else all others were first come first sit basis. The table was only changed WHEN I CALLED FOR THE CAPTIAN / MANAGER AND TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO PUT IT ON MY REVIEW / SOCIAL MEDIA HOW BOOKING IS A WASTE AS THEY GIVE TABLE ON FIRST COME FIRST SAVE BASIS ONLY. (Mind you we had gone at 8:00 pm). The food is average The noise is loud The waiters are arrogant and demeaning. Infact I saw the same manager who spoke to me with his nose in the air bending down almost squatting whilst talking to the fair skinned foreigner guests. Waster of time Waste money
This restobar / dining place is worth visiting
Amazing decor, awesome view, great ambience, nice food. Worth paying their min.cover. Site-seeing place in Mumbai. Special mention of our attending server Karan Kunde - very hospitable with a warm smile. Keep it up!
A good and an amazingly differently decorated place.
This place is huge with a different kind of nice decoration. The food is good and drinks are great . We went with high hopes as getting a reservation was difficult. The restaurant will not pickup phone nor reply which is very annoying. The hotel concierge at st Regis got the reservation but it seems worth the hassle. Overall a good experience.
Great look & feel average food
Incredible set up and look & feel. Atmosphere is great but on the rather noisy side. Unfortunately the food and cocktails are ok but far to be at par with the look & feel. Rather disappointing. Go there to see the look & feel it but don t expect amazing food
Restro-bar scene
Bastian at the top is a large circular venue on a high floor offering panoramic views over the city, the vibe is a nice cross between dinner and a party. Food and service are both good but bear in mind that it gets extremely busy on weekends with hundreds of diners being served at once, the restaurant offers two seatings with the late seating beginning post 10pm. Highlights were the lamb ghee roast and the hazelnut pull me up cake.
Excellent Food and Service... Bad experience with booking and table seating
Excellent food. Excellent service by Sameer. Interesting and unusual decor. But I cannot give a five star rating because the process of getting a table even after a booking is made well in advance is chaotic. The staff who is at the reception are clearly not equipped to deal with table seatings and I heard so many angry and disgruntled customers all around us. And don’t even start me on off on the high handed and discourteous attitude of just not picking up the phone when we try to call for a booking. You feel you’ve attained the impossible when they do actually pick up the phone once in several several several attempts. Due to these two reasons I would have liked to give it a 3.5 star rating but this is not possible on Trip Advisor so I’m giving the rating I have.

* DistinguishedTree58 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to DistinguishedTree58 for any questions Peter may have as DistinguishedTree58 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* DistinguishedTree58 now uses their connections at Bastian at the Top Mumbai to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If DistinguishedTree58 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, DistinguishedTree58 receives the $200 reward which is credited to DistinguishedTree58's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
