Wonderful!! Great atmosphere, feels like vacation!! Great food and drinks!! Dessert was fabulous. Service is impeccable!!!
A high end spot away from street traffic.
A+++ for children. They provide stuffed bears for the kids along with thoughtful puzzles on the kids menu. High end throughout with a high probability of seeing a semi- celebrity or better. Just be prepared to put out two bills per.
Some of the best food and service in all of Aspen,
Some of the best food and service in all of Aspen, Colorado! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the staff is extremely friendly and attentive to every need! You need to call ahead a few nights in order to get a reservation at a table, but I recommend going in and trying to grab it a few seats at the bar. They have everything you're looking for and more and certainly a five star experience all around. I hope you enjoy as much as I did.
Best experience experience at Betulaโs
Absolutely lovely decor, great lighting, music and the food was outstanding. We sat at the bar and served by Michael the bartender, who dazzled us with his artistic, cocktail concoctions. We had a vegetable soup purรฉe, and an amazing and beautifully presented entrรฉe of Seabass with butternut squash and vegetables, one of the best meals Iโve had an Aspen in years!
We just finished a $950 dinner for our family of 4.
Food was good, ambiance was good, and our server was great. But my 8 year old son went to the restroom and accidentally cut in front of hostess also waiting to use the restroom. There were 2 doors so I think he was confused. When he came out she asked if he knew there was a line, he responded he didn't and she let him know, "do better next time." What BS. It was an accident. This kind of nasty attitude can piss off.
Awful
Nice space, but the food was awful. Salad was limp lettuce leaves, on heavy hummus with tasteless beets. And main course โ Colorado trout filets โ was three filets on a plate, 1 skin side up which, when turned over, was half raw. At the center of the plate: a pile of vegetables that looked like they had been scooped out of an animal feeder and thrown on the plate. No intention, no presentation, no taste. The side dish of Patates Dauphinois had sauce that was separating. When the wait staff saw that we had eaten none of the food on the plate they just whisked it all away and avoided us, rather than ask, as at any decent restaurant (esp in this $$ price range) โ was this not to your liking? Can we bring you something else? Sorry to not have taken a photo of the plate of slop.
The food was superb.
The ambience was welcoming and refined. And everybody was very kind and friendly!
Great Food, Great Ambiance and the drinks were amazing.
The lomo salteado was something else!!

I've come to Betula time and time again over the years and have never been disappointed by their standard menu. That being said, this year my family and I decided on Betula's NYE celebration/dinner... It costed $800-1,300pp for a 5-course dinner featuring delicacies such as caviar, truffle and wagyu as well as bottomless champagne. I'm not a food snob by any means but I can tell you, without a doubt in my mind, that they used the cheapest and lowest quality ingredients possible. First of all, the truffle had absolutely no taste. Imagine that. Truffle that has 0 taste whatsoever. Then the "wagyu" may as well have been a $15 rubber-quality steak. Not only lacking flavor but quite difficult to cut and chew. When it came to dessert time, I think my entire table had 1 bite and put our utensils down. All of this being said, the ambiance was on par for a NYE party and the DJ was amazing. This definitely does not make up for how disappointed we were by the food but at least we enjoyed ourselves (except for the person in my group that paid). I would NOT recommend attending Betula's NYE party in the future unless something changes.
Freezing
Do not go to this restaurant! We made a reservation 2 months in advance of our trip. When we arrived for our meal we were seated in a semi heated tent on the porch. We literally froze! We had to eat our meal with our jackets on, our feet freezing while we watched the elite patrons dine inside in warmth. It was a total insult!
Reading the reviews, I almost cancelled my rez.
So glad I didn't. Truly an amazing experience at Betula during the Holidays. Such attentive staff and so nice! Food was spectacular, both in presentation and taste. The music made me feel like I was in St. Tropez or Mykonos. Trust me. Come and enjoy this gem!
A Stark Contrast: Betula, Aspen - Then and Now Reflecting
A Stark Contrast: Betula, Aspen - Then and Now Reflecting on my recent visit to Betula in Aspen, the contrast to my first experience there two years ago couldn't be more stark. What was once an amazing dining experience has unfortunately deteriorated in both quality and service. Two years ago, Betula was a highlight of my Aspen visit. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere vibrant yet inviting, and the service impeccable. This fond memory made my recent visit all the more disappointing. The heart of palm salad, a pricey specialty at $50, failed to live up to its cost, delivering an underwhelming experience. This was a surprising deviation from the culinary excellence I remembered. The main courses continued this downward trend. The special duck, previously cooked to perfection, was now undercooked and rubbery. The veal chop, a dish I had enjoyed before, was served raw - a significant and concerning departure from the high standards Betula once upheld. Compounding these culinary letdowns was the marked change in service quality. The waitress's flippant attitude was a far cry from the warm and professional service that had previously enhanced the dining experience. The constant jostling by servers throughout the meal only added to the discomfort. The ambiance, too, has shifted. The previously refined and engaging atmosphere has given way to an overly commercial setting, dominated by loud house music that seemed more about creating a trendy scene than complementing a fine dining experience. In conclusion, Betula, once a gem in Aspen's culinary scene, seems to have lost the essence of what made it special. From outstanding to disappointing, this recent visit was a clear indicator of how much can change over time. It serves as a reminder that maintaining consistency is key in the restaurant industry, and unfortunately, Betula has not managed to uphold the high standards it once set.
The waiters are arrogant and the food is really overpriced.
Used to be a "cool spot" for people watching but now it's half empty and filled with tourists. The last time we were in town they charged us for a dinner that we cancelled far in advance. Really disorganized.
Lost its cache, expensive, even for Aspen
We had dinner at Betula in the fall, just as the leaves were changing and the town was buzzing. Every other restaurant was lively that weekend except Betula which was mostly empty and everyone who was there looked like a tourist. Given the extremely high prices (maybe the highest in Aspen), and the obnoxious cancellation policy, I expected to feel like I was in a cool spot. Our meal was fine, except the tacos that were really fishy. The sommelier's snobbish attitude left us feeling embarrassed after we ordered a $100 bottle of wine. When the Betula opened it had the cache of Saint Barts but it has certainly gone down hill.
We had an extraordinary experience.
The food service, and ambience were a 10! Kari Kohler
Awesome restaurant in heart of Aspen.
Great ambiance, excellent service, and wonderful food. Must put Betula on your reservation list.
One of the few spots in Aspen worth the premium.
Great ambiance, food is very good and no high altitude attitude. One of our go to spots in town.
Elegant Yet Casual
This is a wonderful hidden place to dine when the weather is perfect in Aspen. The glass doors open up the whole wall and the canopy over the outdoor deck is lovely. Service is attentive and excellent. I had a wonderful rum drink that had an icy topping and slice of apple. Then I had the duck breast which was superb. It was served with a chimichurri sauce that was amazing, and a sweet potato mash, and also mushrooms and roasted carrots. My partner had roasted chicken with a brown sauce that was better than any other chicken either of us have had. It's pricey but wonderful. Lovely evening.
Great seafood dinner in Aspen
Betula delivered a good seafood dinner for my wife and I. Mauro did a nice job with our service. Good cocktails. Only complaint would be it was a little tight regarding table spacing.
Great food, great service, view of toilet
The staff and kitchen were amazing at accommodating my food allergies. So much of the food in Aspen has the same feel, but Betula is interesting. I just wish I hadnโt had a seat by the hot kitchen, the toilets, and a strip mall store. It made me feel very sad and this is my last memory to take away from Aspen.
Crazy loud music!!!
The food was very good although very expensive and the wine was extremely expensive! The worst part was the outrageously loud music!! I asked a few times to please turn it down and it only got louder! I donโt know how the people who work there put up with that. By now they must all be deaf!!
We have gone to Betula at least 8 times since they opened.
We ate there last night and the food was terrible. The fish had no flavor at all and we never finished it. The salad was good, the appetizer, terrible. The restaurant is lovely and the vibe are good although there were some very loud, disrespectful people a the bar. Not sure we will EVER go back. Shame on Betula...you had a good thing and now you don't.

We shared a starter: the Tuna Ceviche and then had the Salmon and the Trout as main course. It was delicious. Also the desert is top! This quality deserves a Michelin Star

Delicious. Warm and inviting environment. Very capable staff. Makes the high price worth it. The owners ran Pinions, a long time favorite.
fun vibe, younger crowd and nice atmosphere.
the patio with the clear tenting and lights was pretty. food was very average for the price. I didn't think it was possible to have too much black truffle but the $160 black truffle risotto proved me wrong, it was so overpowering and rich I felt like I was going to vomit after just a few bites. We ordered 3 for the table and they were hardly touched, no one liked it. The drinks were good. rest of the food was also average.
Go for the bar scene but food is sub par.
.. I dined at Betula in 2019 and the food was exceptional. In the last year the food has gone way downhill. Last night our fish was overcooked and doused in chili powder, chaud froid of foie gras was not a "chaud froid" at all and super plain. Too bad the original chef must have left. Go for the bar scene and eat somewhere else!! Matsu anyone?
Food at Betula is all about show and not about flavor.
Prices are ridiculous but ambiance is nice. If you want good flavorful food this is not the place! If you want to show off and have a nice ambiance then this is for you. Desserts look pretty but don't taste good. Service was great. This was my second time here and I think it will be my last due to the lack of flavor and high price point.
Such a fun vibe! Upscale, cozy, so aspen.
Delicious cocktails, amazing entrees. Treats from the chef. Kind and welcoming staff. A must for any vacation

I went with a large group so we had a menu that had been chosen ahead of time. The starters and dessert were family style and then we chose between three entrees(duck, lamb and trout) -- I had the lamb and tasted the duck but have no reference for the trout as not many ordered it. - Starters (7/10) - Tuna Tacos - These were probably my least favorite of the items. No one at the table was particularly impressed by this dish. The tuna was not very good and almost mushy. The taco shell was a little greasy like an old cannoli shell. Hamachi Tiradito - Personally, I'm not a huge fan of hamachi but everyone seemed to enjoy this starter. It was not a super creative dish but the hamachi was good and the combination of yuzu and soy sauce was tasty.Burrata and Roasted Beets - The burrata was really tasty but the star for me was the horseradish celery remoulade underneath. The horseradish celery was cut into linguine-esque strips that had a great bite. It was also in a super creamy but light sauce that was delicious with the burrata. The sarrasin cracker was also great and added lovely crunch. - Mains (10/10) - Confit Pekin Duck Leg - The duck was the winner of the night. The roasted potatoes and the sauce it was in were both incredible. Probably the best roast potatoes in recent memory. The sauce elevated the perfectly cooked duck. The only complaint is that I wish it had more caramelized onions.Colorado Rack of Lamb - This lamb was a close second to the duck. The quinoa couscous was severely lacking -- It was overly sweet from raisins and didn't have much other flavour. Everything else was really great. Again, the sauce was incredible. The lamb was also just cooked really well and was tender and juicy. The edges had a great rub like a prime rib roast that added some salt and other seasonings. Pan Seared Colorado Trout - I didn't try this and didn't hear anything about it but I will assume it was good because the duck and lamb were so tasty. This one may have been underwhelming. - Desserts(9/10) - Tres Leches - This dessert reminded me texturally of a tiramisu. I am not a fan of rum flavoured desserts so the sauce lost me a bit(didn't stop me from eating a significant amount of tres leches after already being stuffed from dinner) but the rest was great. The sponge cake had a lot of moisture and was not dense. The dulce de leche creme was really light and not overly sweet.Royal Chocolate Cake - This cake was the best dessert. It was a chocolate mousse on top of a praline. It all just worked and was incredibly good.
This place was INCREDIBLE! This is a must if you are in
This place was INCREDIBLE! This is a must if you are in Aspen. We ordered the tuna ceviche, hamachi, sea bass, and chocolate cake. Honestly everything was phenomenal but the sea bass was the show stopper. I was just so impressed. The ambiance of the restaurant, the staff, and the DJ was a great touch. Can't say enough good things!
Fantastic restaurant and vibe.
Highly recommend dinner here if you are in Aspen. Good food, drinks and service
Don't understand what the hype is about this place.
The salad was full of Mayonnaise. The first two items in tried to order were out of stock and when I complained, and asked for manager, he never showed up. These days it's hard to run any restaurant and I'm sure they have their challenges. I wish them the best in their business.

I really like this place I felt that the food and the service well aligned. The bread was not spectacular, but my plate was good great atmosphere.

I sat down tonight to a half-empty restaurant for a 9pm dinner reservation. All started well, and I assumed that after my appetizers, that my party would be able to have dinner. How presumptuous of me!! After our appetizers were cleared from the table, we waited for 40 minutes, but still no entrees. I then asked to speak to a manager, but after a 10 minute wait...no manager (maybe they had to cook him too? I don't know....) The waiter continued to look at me like a deer in headlights, and the manager just handed me a card and asked if he could make it up to us next time. Sounds great, but it's now 10:52 in Aspen, and my 3 kids still have no food. Slim pickings at this time of night in Aspen. This was a night where I had to teach my kids that waiting quietly and patiently is no guarantee of food or decent service, even at $70 per entree. You live and you learn. Good DJ though, but maybe he needed to be drafted into the kitchen to help?
