Eighty Eight Glasgow Reviews
Loved the staff, loved the food
Our dinner at Eighty Eight was just fantastic. It is a really pretty space and everyone who worked there was so warm and gracious - (we really felt like they were happy to have us there). The food was some of the best weโve had for a long time and
Outstanding!
Had a beautiful dining experience at Eighty Eight. We ordered 6 small plates between the 2 of us, followed by a dessert each. Each and every dish was superb: so so tasty and beautifully presented. Dishes come to the table as and when they're rea
Disappointing :(
Expected more, left disappointed. Started with the watermelon and burrata salad, brought down by cheap salad tomatoes, really did enjoy the crab cocktail, and the lamb ragu was nice but nothing special. Things went very downhill when served the squ
What a find
Amazing flavours and creations in this restaurant. Will definitely return, menu changed frequently. The monkish and broccoli was incredible, what a lovely pit stop and find.
I wanted to love it but it fell short
Myself and one other diner attended for the Monday tasting night. I have wanted to visit the restaurant for quite some time and was expecting amazing food. The service was great, the atmosphere pleasant, the wine pairing fantastic but the food was re
Fantastic food and really great value
This was our first time at Eighty Eight and we came for the November pasta night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was fantastic and really great value at ยฃ28 per head for the fixed menu. We also shared a really nice bottle of Spanish white
Excitingly different.
So excitingly different. No nonsense service, as the dishes were all sharing, as one was nearly finished another would appear. No rush, if anything was left on a plate the dish remained on the table until we asked for it to be removed. We never left
A Really Enjoyable Meal
Another beautiful meal. Really inventive flavour combinations as always, warm and friendly service and a great buzz in the restaurant. We enjoyed all of the food but the grilled mackerel, the sea bream ceviche and the tagliatelle with Gorgonzola were
A hidden gem of the West End
We were treated by friends to a wonderful experience in this restaurant. The food was so delicious. As a group we tried every dish on the menu and they all delivered on taste, texture and were visually appealing. A real delight for sensory eating. I

It started out well enough, then came the dessert
My wife and I went here a couple weeks ago and had a very mixed experience. The food, it must be said, was great. At least, until the dessert. We ordered something that was described as a "parfait" only to receive a solid, frozen brick of

Oh dear, went with someone who had been a couple of times before and they noticed a huge deterioration in food and service. Cramped, small tables. Slow, slow service with aperitifs arriving half way through meal and paired wine arriving as plates c
Forgettable food, small portions, slow and poor service.
Went on a Friday night, restaurant wasnโt too busy. Tiny, cramped table. Food was very average, often with listed flavours and ingredients undetectable in the final dish. Very small portions โ you will leave hungry. However the whole experience

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Eighty Eight Glasgow at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Eighty Eight Glasgow page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's $200 bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Eighty Eight Glasgow to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, EternalAnt36 receives the $200 reward which is credited to EternalAnt36's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Eighty Eight Glasgow!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
