Steak dinner
We went here for a late dinner without a reservation. The restaurant was busy but we were found a table. We started our meal with a couple of great cocktails. We didn’t have starters but they gave us some nice brioche bread to start. We both then had the sirloin steak and one portion of chips and one portion of mushrooms to share. The portion sizes were large and we couldn’t manage all the chips. The meal was delicious. Prices are high, but worth it. All staff were polite and friendly.

The steak was honestly the best I've ever had -- perfectly cooked, tender, and full of flavor. I would come back for the food alone. The environment, though, was very male-dominated. It was mostly older men hanging out at the bar, talking with each other, with no real female presence besides the bartender. As a woman eating by myself, the vibe just felt off and a little weird. If you're just here for the steak, you'll be blown away. But if atmosphere matters to you, it's worth knowing what you're walking into.

Aside from the steaks, the dinner rolls were amazing - I was taken by surprise at how good they were. Service was good. We spent around 2.5 hours enjoying dinner and didn't feel rushed at all and our server gave good recommendations. He also made sure to cut our steaks in half when we mentioned that we were sharing everything. I liked that even though the place was filled, the high back chairs and layout of the room made it feel like we had our own private spot.

Had dinner & breakfast while staying at XV Beacon. Service was good at dinner but great at breakfast. Food was delicious & the decor was lovely. With so many great places to eat in Boston, I'm glad this gem was attached to our hotel!

What a trash experience we had there for breakfast today. We got coffee earlier somewhere else and they came in reusable cups. No outside food or drink. Completely understandable. The hostess said she would hold them for us at the desk. We finish breakfast and she says she threw them out. Greeeaaattttt. The food was just okay. The pancakes were your diner pancakes and nothing special. Actually a little burnt on the bottom as well but $20 for them. The part that really gets my goat of the whole experience is the restaurant had about as many staff there as customers and it was still painfully slow to order and get your order. There is a mandatory 20% tip already included and the wait staff act all of it with really not worry about taking care of the customers. Don't waste your time or money here.

Despite the reviews of this place being very good, I cannot honestly recommend it. So when we walked in we had empty mostly coffees we had gotten early in the morning in reusable cups. (Mostly empty because the ice had melted after we finished them and that's what was left in the cups). The hostess mentioned they didnt allow in outside drink (even though they were mostly empty) fine, we get it, but we told her we didn't want to throw the cups away so she agreed to keep them up front. We sat down to eat and got water right away, however, the service went downhill from there. It took a while to get coffee, place our order, and then get subsequent coffee refills. The actual food was okay. The pancakes came out overcooked and the mooo omelet was just average. The potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned though and a stand out amongst everything else. There is a built in 20% gratuity and i felt like it showed. There didn't seem to be the biggest emphasis on it. Then as we were leaving we stopped back by to get our cups we had left with the hostess only for her to tell us she never heard us say we wanted to keep them (or agree to hold them) and she had thrown them away. Huge disappointment and put a damper on our morning.
The service was outstanding.
Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. I ordered the rustic corned beef hash, and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his omelette and was equally impressed. I mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and we were delighted to receive a complimentary dessert. Just a heads-up: a 20% service charge is automatically added to the check.

Mooo was something that popped up on my yelp page when researching places to eat. It's my 6th year anniversary and we've been splurging for dinners. i was wildly underdressed but i've been walking all day. oh well . Anyways, the interior was dim and very romantic. Damon was our server and personalized our menus that celebrated our anniversary and also gave us little chocolates that wrote out happy anniversary. He made it feel special. They also let us take the menu home which now i'll have to put it in our memories box :)

This is a wonderful restaurant, and also a great place to have an event. We have had two events in the wine cellar and I can't say enough good things about the experience. The food was amazing, the service impeccable and the guests loved it. I highly recommend!

What an unforgettable experience at Moo Steakhouse on Beacon Street! From start to finish, everything was flawless--and a huge part of that was thanks to Anna, the incredible wine connoisseur and manager. She went above and beyond, taking us downstairs for a private tour of the wine room, showcasing some of the most beautiful and immaculate treasures this restaurant has to offer. Her knowledge, passion, and hospitality were unmatched. If you're into wine, make sure to say hi to Anna. She's a gem. As for the food--wow. We started with the dumplings, which were absolutely perfect. The salmon was rich and intense in the best way, and the steak was cooked to perfection--tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Don't miss out on the Moo sampler either--the potatoes and mushrooms were next-level delicious. Every bite, every moment was memorable. I cannot wait to come back. Five stars all the way.
Super service but culinary details missed the mark
The restaurant offered excellent service and good ambience. Staff were attentive and professional throughout. However, the Beef Wellington was disappointing. The pastry was soggy likely due to an excess of spinach and the absence of a protective barrier such as Parma ham that is traditionally used to prevent moisture seeping into the pastry. Additionally, a new bottle of wine was poured directly into a glass that still contained wine at its ideal state. This interrupted the tasting experience as the the wine would have benefited from a few minutes to breathe then poured into an empty glass. Despite these issues, the exceptional service and atmosphere helped maintain a positive overall impression.

in town for work and was recommended this place by a co worker and client… it’s close to the hotel which is a plus. intimate and luxurious place… connected to the XV Beacon (and you can order in room dining from). I ordered the filet with mashed potatoes(not sure what sauce i ordered, it was recommended and delicious). They start you off with parker rolls that were to die for…the food was absolutely amazing as was the service. Server assistant was spectacular- great recommendations and so friendly. Server was great too with suggestions/questions… GM came by to say hello which was a nice gesture. I ended with the chocolate chip cookies which i couldn’t get over- left the room temp as recommended by service assistant and they taste even better the next day. I would 100% recommend and go back before i leave!!!

On the salty side
Nice restaurant in a very nice area of Boston, great service and great atmosphere and wine selection. The tartar as a starter was great, the Wagyu dumplings were just ok. The main courses, one Wagyu steak and one 60 days dry aged in bone ribeye were obviously great quality, but for my taste and my wife's very salty, to the point of covering how good the meat was. The sides were also overly salty, we could not finish them. Maybe we are too sensitive to salt and we should have asked for low seasoned steaks and send back the sides, we were timid. For the price paid (650$ with tip) we should have been more vocal. I am going back for a work event shortly and will ask for less salty food and see how it goes.

Freakin AWESOME! Start to finish a great night. My son took me here last night for my 70th birthday. He took care of everything. Ordering everything from start to finish. All I had to do was wait for them to bring the next course. the night started with Parker Rolls, then to Wedge Salad, then on to Meatballs in a Brown Shiitake Mushroom sauce to our main meal. He got me a Wagyu Steak, Filet Mignon cut, with béarnaise sauce and he got the rib eye steak and a side or carrots / and fries. for dessert we had a classic crème brûlée - to die for. Start to finish a perfect night - except for the parking ticket:(
Mooo... or booo?
Let's start with the positives, which are remarkable. The food is absolutely wonderful. If that's all you care about, then read no further. You will not be disappointed. I started with the lobster bisque followed by the beef Wellington. Both were arguably the best I've had. My friend ordered a mixed greens salad and lamb chops and was similarly thrilled. The ambience is perfect for anything from casual chic to fine dining. I've been to many restaurants with multiple Michelin stars, and this one easily hold its own with the best of them, despite its unfortunate name. OK. So what went wrong? The service. I hate to say it. I was there for a post-theatre dinner with a friend in her late 60s who is also a bit "spectrumy". That can be tough, but a high-end restaurant should be able to identify and accommodate. She had sprained her back a couple days prior and had obvious difficulty moving. She was carrying a water bottle with her so she could take the painkillers her doctor had prescribed as needed. When she did so at the table, some obnoxious penguin immediately spint-waddled over to her and chastised her for bringing in an "outside substance". She tried to explain that she needed to take her pills because she was in pain, which only caused him to double down and raise his voice at her. Frankly I was surprised at how rude he was. He was so loud that nearby tables could hear and were turning to stare. I can only assume he was the manager, but if so he is in the wrong line of business. After that, the rest of the service for our table went downhill, presumably because the manager had made it clear we were a problem. I won't be going back, which is a pity because damn was the food fantastic. I still left a $50 tip, hoping some of it, would make its way back to the kitchen.

We were searching out a good steak restaurant in Boston and stumbled across Mooo. We were not disappointed and even the annoying waiter didn’t ruin the meal. The food was wonderful and the steaks some of the best we’ve ever had. Lovely styling and vibe too.
Excellent steakhouse with quite the wine list
Relaxed, cosy set up for a high quality steakhouse. Excellent oysters too. Wine and digestif list is impressive with some reasonable options. Attentitive service.
A Memorable Dining Experience.
Mooo, a whimsically named restaurant, is a Beacon Hill Boston steakhouse located within the luxurious XV Beacon Hill hotel. The Mooo serves up stellar decor as well as culinary creativity with the likes of: Roasted Bone Marrow, Prime Ribeye, Prime NY Sirloin, Faroe Island Salmon, a $190 Japanese Wagyu Sirloin and other meatier items. I relished a trio of Maine Lobster Bisque, Prime Sirloin Carpaccio and Creme Brulee for my sweet tooth............what a delicious combination. The Mooo, with it's warm & inviting decor, provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience.

Srsly We sat at the bar but the dining room looked warm and inviting The drinks are fantastic and our bar tender/ server was simply delightful. The food is truly amazing. From the uni to the foie gras to the grade 4 kobe I think I want the entire menu for my last meal on earth I will def be here every time I'm in town.
Sadly…very disappointed!
As much as we wanted to love this place, we just didn’t. We went on July 7, 2024 for our anniversary. It started excellent. We got the oysters and wagyu dumplings. Both were excellent as were our drinks. But then it started going downhill. The caesar salad was okay. Then the steaks, which I expected to be phenomenal. It was far from it. The waiter stated they’ve been told the beef wellington is better than Gordon Ramsay’s. I’ve had both and Mooo’s wellington is no where in the same universe as Ramsay’s. My wife’s filet was one of the toughest filets ever. We then got the cookies and milk which are highly recommended. Ours were burnt on the outside and tasted like basic grocery store cookies. The food overall was about a 5/10 but considering the bill was $400, it goes even lower. Overall experience 3.5/10. It was on par with a restaurant that would have been $80-100, not 4x that. I’ve been to many high end steakhouses, this was in the bottom 3 for sure…

As a Hindu of the delicious order, I am extremely picky about the steaks that I decide to consecrate via consumption. Moo delivers. Yes you will pay $100 or more for steak and sides. Yes you will feel conflicted. Yes you will wallow over the bill and cry tears of joy simultaneously. Life is messy, life is complicated. Take a deep breath and at least savor the dinner. You have earned it (at least once/year).

Love a steak house where I can have a martini and mashed potatoes at the bar. Space is classic and clean Service is smooth To eat any of the steaks are cooked nicely and taste great. To drink any of the classic cocktails are as expected and made correctly to your preferences.
Good recommendation
A friend of ours suggested Mooo - it was our first visit to Boston - so went for dinner. Excellent oysters and shrimp to start with and then we both had a small (8oz) Omaha filet mignon cooked blue with side sauces. My wife is a bit of an expert on bernaise sauce and didn’t think hers was that good. My Mooo…steak sauce was lovely. A few sides, good wine etc. With tip, just under $500. I thought that was more than enough, but we had a very enjoyable evening and the service was perfect.

. he even gave us two small kiss desserts for our engagement celebration. I'm vegetarian so I made a "main" out of sides. They were decent... carrots were a little over cooked and didn't have much flavor. Fiancé had the beef Wellington and thought it was good. Overall it was a good meal but of course pricey.

We had great great steak and great great appetizers. Pretty much all the food was fantastic. However, cocktail my sister and I got was very mid. The tongue in cheek I believe it was called. I made a better cocktail at home the night before. Also, service itself was good but the server was definitely a little off. Not quite sure what the vibe was with them but definitely sporadic and all over the place. But still delivered! But yeah, would definitely go back. I was considering a 4 stars but it really is delicious and classic clean steakhouse vibe also which is always nice.

Grossly overpriced for quality and quantity of food. For a prime steak I would not expect a big piece of fat in the center that not even the steak knife could cut through. Appetizers and sides were extremely disappointing and very expensive. Wines were marked up at least 200%. Positive: Service was exceptional ! Kudos to Gabriel and team.

I came here with my friend and her parents for a Mother's Day breakfast. The restaurant was very classy and clean. The servers were polite and attentive. The food was presented beautifully and tasted phenomenal. I was very impressed with this restaurant. It definitely met my expectations and I highly recommend it.

Having enjoyed, both a wonderful meal as usual - usual being 5 to 6 times a year and service! A place where you can leave the harsh reality of the world behind momentarily and enjoy the ambiance. I noted a recent yelp review - on April 25th, that to me was a severe rebuke, veiled in social commentary. Mentioning race and trying to paint institutional hypocrisy, was indeed way beyond bounds! Upon reflection I probably, should not be giving credence to this poor behavior, but it appears even my "Camelot" is not off bounds. I hope the hard working employees of this establishment, will know some people care! Kudos!

Two polite, white, 50-something males with an Amex Platinum card were treated dismissively--from the hostesses to the chilly tall bartender. Safe to assume that People of Color would have no chance of feeing welcome in this ultra-white self-absorbed ode to the past. Perfect example of why Boston gets a bad rap.

I was eager to relax and chill after work and sat at the bar. It was actually tough to get a drink... surprising for this kind of restaurant. The first guy who gave me a drink menu proceeded to ignore me. I later got the eye of someone else who helped but then turned out to be maybe over-burdened with bar obligations. I was able to order dinner from her and it gained me an attention for a brief while. But overall, do consider going somewhere else with more personal attention, since those places are everywhere in Boston. The food in this restaurant is surely good - but not *that* good. They're nice but seem to be navigating a situation. End of the day: it's how people walk away feeling. Not returning.
This restaurant is worth the hype.
The Beacon Hill location is just one of three locations and I loved my experience there! My partner and I were constantly just in awe of the food and spent almost the entire time talking about how great everything was. I ordered the Dry Aged Ribeye Steak which was juicy and tender but not too fatty, which is usually my concern with ordering ribeyes. We got a fish crudo which was honestly the star of the show. It was a beautiful, unique, and adventurous flavor combination and you could really tell how fresh the fish was. Even the free bread that they gave us blew us away. It was buttery, warm, soft, and I would've definitely paid money for it. We got a Sides Tasting Flight and our favorite was the mashed potatoes and the mushrooms but overall it was amazing! The ambiance is fancy and it's perfect for an occasion. Even better, if you tell them what your occasion is in advance, they'll put it on the menu! We went to celebrate an anniversary and they made the experience very special. The price of the food is expensive and you should be prepared to break the bank but the food was worth the price. You are paying for what you get here! Overall, I would go again as many times as I could. I'm sure the other locations are also as solid as this one!

The cuts of meat are the best and service is top-tier. Everything you would expect from a high quality restaurant. Great seating options perfect for date night or a special celebrations. If you love steak as much as I do - go go go!!!
Mooo continues to be my favorite steakhouse in Boston.
Not only is the interior beautiful, but the food here is SO good. It's worth the high price tag imo. In terms of what we ordered: Crispy Calamari: 4.5/5 - crispy, fresh & filled with tart peppers as well. This was so yummy, only thing that could've made it better was a pinch more salt. Truffle Fries: 10/5 - crispy, truffley with just the right amount of cheese on top, these are a must order every time! I find myself craving these. Filet Mignon: 5/5 - you get exactly what you pay for. No frills, just delicious, well-seared and juicy filet. The butter on the side enhances the flavor profile if you're into that. But just the salt + pepper is enough to complement the mignon. Milk & Cookies: 3/5 - Not bad at all, but I've had much better cookies from other places. These cookies are more crispy than soft. Levain is way better. The staff is always professional & attentive, no qualms there. Overall, you definitely can't go wrong with celebrating your special occasions here or just treating yourself out to a nice dinner ~
I wanted to love everything.
We received a $100 g.c. which could be used at any of the various restaurants in the group. We chose Mooo. Once we checked the menu online and saw how pricey it is, opted to go to lunch, in Boston, at the Beacon Hill location, the only one of the three Mooo restaurants open for lunch. The restaurant is lovely (bathrooms included!) , and the friendly, attentive and efficient staff made it enjoyable. To stay within our g.c. amount (it was lunch after all), we ordered the Mooo burger, the chicken club sandwich and the basic salad. The salad was good and tossed with a simple, light dressing, (always our preference), but, it was overly salted. We were given rolls with nicely softened butter on the side. Wonderful!, except that they were sprinkled with a few/several salt crystals - unnecessary IMHO. Our sandwiches arrived - huge and pleasing to the eyes! My husband and I split each, to share. Burger was cooked perfectly, moist and just right—but, there wasn’t much overall flavor to speak of. Surprising also that I don’t believe it was char-grilled—that favorite, desired flavor wasn’t detected anyway—which seemed surprising since we were at a steakhouse. The club sandwich was just ok, not remarkable. Each sandwich came with a generous side of perfectly cooked fries, but they too were . . . overly salted. I wanted to love everything. And the prices are—let’s face it—pretty ridiculously expensive. Saw on the menu that 20% gratuity automatically gets taken. On top of that we gave our remaining g.c. balance to the kind server. Glad for him.

The decor is calm and inviting. The food is so delicious and of great quality. We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and fun. The steaks are exactly what you would hope for. The drinks are creative and delicious. A great dining choice over No. 9 Park and Contessa any day.

Was seated in a booth in the front of the restaurant. No white table cloths or anything fancy. They put a space heater next to our table because it was so cold inside... The filet and beef Wellington were so so good. They also have GF rolls which is a plus. Both of us shared a salad, 2 sides, beef Wellington and filet. With only one cocktail each the bill was nearly $300. This just seems totally outrageous and was not worth it. You can get a delicious steak at a different Boston steakhouse that has a way better atmosphere. Moo just overall was NOT worth it.
We had a wonderful celebration at Mooo.
Even on a frigid night we were happy to dine in a cozy elegant setting to warm us up. The bread (soft Parker with butter rolls) and the salads were divine. The lobster bisque was full of lobster. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly and all the sides delicious. The Valarhona chocolate cake with ice cream was so moist and huge!! Thank you to Carlos our wonderful server. He was so attentive! In fact all the staff is quite accommodating. We will return!!

Arrived early for our dinner reservation, went into the bar. Staff is appropriately attentive, never intrusive but available. Response to requests or ideas are engaged not dismissed. Drink suggestions by Staff were great. Seated promptly at reservation time. Total of four in the party. I ordered the Beef Wellington for my entree. The pastry shell was firm, yet parted under the knife; the duxelles and foie-gras were delicate in their texture and taste without being overwhelming adding to the beefy tenderloin medium rare, tender and delicious flavor. The plated wine reduction added a layer of flavor but never took away from the main ingredients: the pastry, duxelles, foie-gras and the tenderloin. I’ve looked forward to having this experience for several years, I finally punched that ticket with Mooo. Whatever you have on your list, get to it. I would recommend anyone in Boston, or visiting the area, to Mooo Beacon Hill, their Bar, their Staff and lastly, their rendition of Beef Wellington. Regards,

Great restaurant, Waygu beef is worth every penny. Truffle fries are delicious, great salads, amazing wine list. Highly recommend. Nice for lunch or dinner!
Poor and selective service
The staff - from reception to Maitre'd to Servers - are all snooty and unfriendly. We came late in the afternoon to have coffee and dessert. We were immediately told that we have about 45 minutes to stay which was fine. We had to get our own menue and stood to order our coffees at the bar. When we sat down, we got the minimum service-- no water, no napkins. And the desserts were not cheap. We felt like it was the biggest favor to us to eat there. Worst restaurant service. I think they're service is selective and prejudiced. My husband always brought his work colleagues there for dinners, I recommend he brings his business elsewhere.

Run don’t walk to Moo. Best menu/food in Boston. Ambience is a 10 Bar service, Brian, is a 10, Menu… 10! Carpaccio , extremely large portion and high quality Lobster..perfectly cooked and high fat butter Desert…mock Pear w shell of white chocolate and semi sweet filling set on a butter cookie. Michelin star quality..

3.) Finding the Reservation
* FluffyStar64 now uses their connections at Mooo.... Boston to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If FluffyStar64 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, FluffyStar64 receives the $200 reward which is credited to FluffyStar64's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Mooo.... Boston!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
