$120 nigiri plater was ok.
Added fresh wasabi was not worth the $10 not sure if they just gave more of the same wasabi. Black cod was fishy. Best dish of the night was the hot oil carpaccio. Service was good.

Had a nice ambient dinner for our first meal of our Napa Trip. 5 minute uber from our hotel. The entrance is so artsy and well designed. Feels like someone's home living room area. Took awhile to get seated even tho we had a reservation but got to enjoy the waiting area. Finally got seated and the ambiance of the dining room is so beautiful full of vibrant energy and nice decor. Our server came and gave us nice recommendations. We ordered the edamame, aburi sushi 4 ways, clam & tofu miso, and 2 autumn fish offerings and the $60 sushi chef combo. Our edamame and miso soups came out one after the other shortly. The edamame was warm and perfectly cooked. My clam miso soup was full of clam which was nice, the soup was just a tad salty but still satisfying. The wait to get our sushi orders of the aburi and our chef combo was a very very long wait i think 45 mins to an hour so we decided to order drinks. The fruity drink i was given was nice and refreshing. Friend also got the waygu old fashioned and enjoyed it. Finally got the aburi and they fired two out of the three in front of me. My fav was the A5 japanese waygu melt in ur mouth! The toro was good as well but too much mayo on top. The other two were good too but not warm like im used to getting at other sushi places. Usually they torch and u get it right away for everything. The sushi combo took another 30mins or longer to come out, i saw other tables getting sushi plates before us who arrived later. Not the best feeling. The sushi was alright. I liked our hamachi roll, and there were a few choice pieces i liked like the tuna and some unique pieces. We got the chocolate sphere for dessert which is fun bc they pour flaming vermouth ontop of the chocolate sphere and it melts. It was tasty some parts too vermouth-y and bitter but the middle with the ice cream is very good. Overall the ambiance was nice to enjoy and we had a nice meal just the wait was too long for our sushi dishes.
Second time I've been there, dead both times.
Portions are small, and pricey. Ordered half of a Peking Duck, what came out was a 1/4 leg of roasted duck leg served with flour tortillas, you might be able to fool non asian diners that this is the real deal, peking duck with the buns is not served like that, didn't even remotely tastes like peking duck. Went to a Japanese restaurant in Berkely the next day, and it was jumping, great food good portions good price, bye bye mickeymoto

My Review for Morimoto Napa,,,, For our first year of love, I planned something sweet, My lady had wished for Morimoto's elite. Atmosphere tranquil, the service divine, Each waiter was friendly with knowledge that shines. The Chef's 7-course special no words can convey, A masterpiece menu that stole breath away. The photos will show what my rhyme can't explain, Spectacular flavors engraved in our brain. Thanks to Dino for making the night so complete, We'll be back again, this spot can't be beat!

Came on a Monday for lunch. No one else on the patio... not busy inside...if fact hostess mentioned how slow they were when I walked in. It took awhile, but I received my first dish within an appropriate amount of time. Then... I waited and waited until I had to get up to check on others. They immediately dropped another item. And now I wait. The photos are of the two items I received.... I'm still waiting.The kitchen/service is killing this place. Bad habits start during slow season and will continue until they fix the issue. It's been a while since Ive been here.... And now I remember why. Overpriced and underwhelmed
Food was pretty good, I would say 7/10 for sushi.
The o-Toro and Maguro were cut very well, super fresh and tasty. The service was very helpful and efficient, the water glasses were almost never empty, and the food was served quickly. Inside is massive, there is a mostly open kitchen and a lot of seating both inside and outside. It is a little on the pricy side but worth the cost.

Really enjoyed the food, nice ambience and great service there. Fancy nigiri 4 appetizer fire searing at the table, taste so fresh too. A5 Wagyu appetizer tastes good but based on texture it must be American Wagyu not Japanese. We enjoyed the miso black cod fish. Japanese soufflé cheesecake tastes so smooth but a bit too sweet to my taste. Overall great dining experience in Napa day trip.

Disappointing service and so-so sushi
Disappointed with Morimoto Napa. Service was slow (had to ask for refills of our water glasses, staff disappeared for extended periods of time). Water tasted very minerally. Wasabi was weak. Shrimp tempura maki roll was just bland and the tempura was soggy. Freshwater eel sushi was cold and nearly devoid of eel sauce. Salmon sushi was “just okay.” Will not return and unlikely to visit any of his other restaurants.

Really sad to rate Morimoto so low, but considering the hype surrounding Chef Morimoto, I had higher expectations for this restaurant and my experience here. While I would definitely come back for the food, I think there are quite a few better spots in Napa for special occasions with much better service. We came here for my birthday dinner, and the hosts were lovely enough to move our reservation last minute to a time that worked better for us, which we appreciated. The hostesses were very nice upon our arrival, but I felt like the rest of the wait staff repeatedly dropped the ball when it came to service. They dropped portions of the dishes, forgot utensils/spoons, and were overall not attentive/did not pace the food well, resulting in a 2+ hour dinner and periods where we had too many dishes on our table or no food at all for an awkwardly long time. In terms of the food, every dish was executed perfectly, with the exception of the XO Halibut, since the scallop component of the XO sauce doesn't mesh well with an already fishy halibut. The sushi was incredibly fresh and well-cut, with unique and hard-to-find summer varietals such as barracuda. My favorite dish of the night was probably the white clam miso, which was probably one of the BEST miso soups that I've ever had.

Ok this place is my ALL TIME favorite!! The chefs special (sushi plate) is a MUST have, do not skip, do not pass go. Just fyi the S'more dessert is Not a S'more...it's ice cream which sucked, because I'm lactose intolerant but even still I LOVE this place.
Disappointed
Based on the positive reviews, we were excited to try their food. Massive disappointment! The service: our server was fine, but the busser spilled a few things all over the table while removing the dishes. Then to top that, she forcefully - and I do mean forcefully - yanked the napkin from my dinner companion’s lap. Seriously??? The hostess could’ve given us a customary “thank you for coming” or “have a nice evening” as we walked out. Nope. Not even the obligatory smile that’s almost a requirement for that job. (She was standing at the host’s stand by herself as we walked out.) The food was deeply disappointing. The fried rice tasted like it was bought from the frozen food aisle of the local big box grocery store and the miso cod was just as disappointing.
Great Staff, Great Stop
Great solo experience, and dined at the bar. Juan, and the team were all super friendly. Definitely a great stop for dinner or a quick bite. Definitely get the Rock Shrimp Tempura (app), and the White Lily (Cocktail)
Delicious, expensive large portions
The apps and entrees were excellent. No complaints whatsoever. The chili spicey chicken was huge. Literally after 2 apps and a drink the chicken could easily feed three women or a man and a woman. Four people, some drinks, two apps, 4 main dishes $310
Didn’t Meet My Expectations
We live in the Asia Pacific region and wanted to experience a special New Year’s Eve dinner in Napa. So we went to MorimotoIn Napa Dec 31, 2024. It was really loud as the acoustics in the restaurant were not that good. We ordered hot green tea to start and the server initially brought an empty tea kettle. We ordered the assorted sushi platter and the fish didn’t taste fresh. The entrees were average. I was a little disappointed after in the meal as I had high expectations from an iron chef restaurant.
A Sad Turn of events
We have been dining at this location for years. We will not be in the future. When they first reopened after Covid their menu was super limited and expensive. It is still super limited and ridiculously expensive. The waiter paid very little attention to us. We ordered the tuna appetizer that used to come on a slab. It is now a blob in a microscopic bowl accompanied by a tiny plate with teeny tiny droplets of the "sauces." We asked for more sauce and two more tiny plates with teeny tiny droplets on them arrived! The sushi is priced per piece and the price point is crazy high.The "flair" is gone here. It felt like the food was slammed together and served as quickly as possible. We told the server to please slow the dinner down a bit, no one cared. This is now a very corporate feeling place. skip it.
Delicious, authentic Japanese!
Having lived in Tokyo, finding good Japanese food in America can be a challenge, BUT thank God for Morimoto! I’ve been a fan since iron chef and I’m thrilled that my first time visiting far exceeded my expectations. Everything was fresh, cooked well & delicious! We had the gyozas, ribs, shishitos, katsudon, burger + desserts. While I wouldn’t personally order a burger at a Japanese restaurant, my friends burger was pretty average. The gyozas could’ve been cooked a tad longer. The ribs were tender & juicy and reheat well. The shishitos had great seasoning. But the star of the show was the katsudon! Delicious, great cook on the pork so that the breading is still crisp while sitting on rice with sauce & the depth of flavor was unbelievable! The dessert was also really great. I’m not huge on sweets so the gelato was the perfect finish.

This place is amazing. The food is soooooo good. The service surprisingly is even better. Amir and Jose are the perfect and take your experience to another level. Josh makes the best drinks around! Honestly if I could I would come every single day. So so full and still dreaming of eating more.

I ate at Morimoto Napa a few years ago and both the food and service were outstanding. Sadly, that wasn't the case this time. We received water immediately, but didn't see the waiter for 15-20 minutes. When they did show up, I asked what was on the omakase menu that day, and instead of telling me, the waiter proceeded to explain--very condescendingly--what omakase is. When I pressed her for what food was being served, she couldn't tell me, and subsequently made no attempt to find out. I understand omakase is the chef's choice, but it's not completely random, so waiters should know what's being served on any one day. Needless to say, I didn't go with the omakase menu, but chose to order off the regular menu. What I received wasn't much better than I've had in strip-mall sushi joints, but a shitload more expensive. It's really disappointing to go to a restaurant run by a renowned chef like Morimoto and receive the quality of food and service I received. I don't see any reason to return.

The rock shrimp tempura and aburi sushi 4 ways were luscious and fun. If you haven't been here, c'mon over!

..we had the best wait staff. Everything was tasty and my kids appreciated the extra treatment. Highly recommend this spot if you are visiting Napa and craving sushi!
First time here but not impressed at all.
The place looks very nice and many servers. Do not order their Omakase! It's not worth the price and it took way too long to bring the food out. We were there 2 1/2 hrs and the last 3 courses still did not come to us. We had to wait 1/2 hour for 1 course to come. We had to take the last course & dessert to go because the wait was way too long!

Shushi freshness does not live up to the standard. Rice are not cook well. Flavor for soup is also over salted. Expect better from his name.

We loved our first visit to Morimoto Napa! -Tofu miso soup: It's a generous portion that's enough to share. It's delicious and the creamy tofu at the bottom reminds me of the Filipino dessert, taho. -You MUST order the toro tartare. It's a raw tuna cake topped with little crispies and caviar. It comes with wasabi, sour cream and nori paste for sauce and a tiny piece of fruit that tastes like the pink Starburst as a palate cleanser. Honestly, this appetizer alone makes it worth a trip. -I tried the premium sake flight, which was tasty and enough to share. My favorite was the milky snow maiden. -My husband got the turf set, which comes with seven pieces of different meat and two pieces of corn on the cob. Very delicious. -I got the soft shell crab sushi roll, spicy yellowtail sushi roll and the tobiko nigiri. I liked them all, but the yellowtail was my favorite. Tip: Sit at the sushi counter if you can. It's fun to see the chefs at work.

We have heard so many things about this place and we're excited to try it. It definitely did not live up to the hype. I felt like it was overrated. We had reservations for 7:00pm on a Friday so of course it was busy but the place was big enough to allow you to feel comfortable. It was a little noisy but hey what can you expect on a Friday night in downtown Napa. The vibes were good, the staff was awesome, especially our server (can't remember her name) but the food was just decent. The sushi was way overpriced and did not taste special. Everything else was decent but I'd rather pay high prices elsewhere for more flavorful food.

Not worth a reservation
Omakase was fine (7 courses, 2 were memorable/unique) Ordered several other dishes (sticky ribs were good), none of the sushi impressed us and I personally enjoyed the Black Cod dish the most. Despite walking in for an early seating, the service began to fall significantly behind pace and it was 30+min to receive our last dessert course and had already requested the check multiple times before our last course arrived. $300 for two without drinks - I think the customer should expect good if not outstanding service and this was neither.

Special occasion dinner
Hands down best sushi we have ever had. Amazing sampling menu, great wine and service. Great ambience. Let’s be real…..this is a date night of the decade restaurant with eye watering prices. Not a first date outing….only for “keepers”. It may have been a slow time- we had 3 different water pourers, 4 different food servers and 2 main waiters Not for the shy of wallet
Napa ‘s finest
For the celebration of our youngest son we stayed in Napa for the weekend. Although it is low season it was a challenge to get a booking but boy were we in for a treat. We chose the chefs menu a seven course dinner and we were not disappointed. Superb dinner paired with great local wines.

Meh.
Food was good, service was weak. The place is LOUD and the tables seat you very far apart so you feel like you need to yell. We waited until the tables cleared out and scooched closer together. It was our 24th anniversary. Our server wasn't busy but she hung out across the dining room ignoring us. We ordered our first course, came out fast and delicious but it was almost an hour before she came for our second course, then didn't give us new plates... we were going from sticky ribs to sashimi. Luckily the bussing staff was on it. All in all meh, but really enjoyed the ribs, miso clam soup.
Will not be back
I love Japanese cuisine and was excited to go there. My husband and I were terribly disappointed in the food preparations and taste of most of what we ordered. Only the edamame, rolls and sashimi were good. The cod tasted like it was in a bbq sauce and the tempura shrimp was weirdly served with 2 different sauces and were all wet. The shishito peppers were piled in a strange tall bowl , again all wet.
Incredible Dining Experience
We were in Napa for a few days, and Morimoto's has been on our list of restaurants to try. We did make reservations and I suggest making them. We were there in the middle of the week the end of September and the restaurant was packed. The ambiance is unique and beautiful. We were seated right away, and started exploring the cocktail and wine menu. Mr. Bee settled on a Wagyu Old Fashioned. I know you are thinking Wagyu is beef and in a cocktail that is weird. We thought so too, and that is why he had to try it. They add a little wagyu fat, sounds gross I know, but oh my gosh, it was incredible. The wagyu adds an earthiness to the whisky and softens it so there isn't such a bite to it. It was smooth and full of flavor, highly recommend it. I went with a lovely glass of Albarino wine. We ordered salted edamame to snack on while we explored the extensive menu. It may seem crazy that I would go to a seafood and sushi restaurant being a vegetarian. But.... they had a delicious vegetarian option and Mr. Bee wanted to have sushi. I settled on the Fried Rice dish that comes with seafood, but they substituted it for housemade tofu. Mr. Bee ordered a tuna roll. The edamame was a large portion, and was hot and salty, the perfect start to the meal. Our food came out fast. The sushi roll was stuffed with tuna and so fresh. As for my Tofu Fried Rice, it came out in a hot steel bowl, served on a wooden plank and our waiter explained each vegetable and then poured a lovely asian sauce over the top and stirred it tableside. The dish was incredible. The vegetables crisp and fresh, the tofu soft and silky. The spicy sauce added a whole other level of richness, saltiness and umami to the dish. Everything was excellent including the service. We were both stuffed to the gills, but when we saw their special dessert go by, well....we couldn't refuse. CHOCOLATE! The platter came out with a chocolate sphere encasing a lovely homemade ice cream, with two biscuits on the side with rolls of chocolate on top and fresh berries to cut through the richness of the chocolate. Our server poured alcohol over the top of the sphere lit it on fire, as the chocolate melted over the ice cream. OMG, each bite was pure heaven. Parking is tricky downtown. Fortunately we were staying at Churchill Manor and walked from the inn to dinner along the Napa Riverwalk. It was an amazing dinner and experience.

The food was excellent! Very well spaced out. Very attentive service. Samantha was our server. She was knowledgeable, had great recommendations and provided excellent service. Ended the night with the chocolate sphere, very cool! This restaurant was recommended by a tour guide at one of the vineyards. Great spot!
Always good sushi takeout
We are busy during the day so we order their rolls for home consumption. Easy to order and drive by for pickup. Surprise at how reasonable they are priced for the quality received. Also, just head to bar, and order a few rolls for a quick snack.
The perfect dining experience in Napa
We last ate at Morimoto Napa about 5 years ago and loved it then, and we till love it! The restaurant is large and ever so tastefully decorated and despite the large size, it has a certain intimacy. The service is perfect, informative, attentive but not intrusive or obsequious. and we were never made to feel rushed in our decisions. The menu is very interesting and varied and I never expected to eat BBQ oysters at an asian restaurant, but they were perfectly delicious and highly recommended. We were four adults and had the black cod, duck fries, Hamachi sashimi, soft shell crab makizushi, shrimp tempura makizushi, eel and avocado makizushi, spicy salmon makisuzhi, and uni nigiri. Every dish was a winner, the fish was fresh, beautifully plated and the rice was perfectly made, not hard or tasteless as in many restaurants. We had Sapporo beer with our dinner. The tab was very reasonable considering the quality of the food and dining experience.

Unfortunately the quality of service has dropped tremendously. It used to be one of my go-to spots, but now I try to avoid it as best I can. Food and drinks are tasty, but it's hard to spend your money at a place you feel unwanted.

I haven't seen him and caught up in YEARS! I get there before him and I go to the host stand and she was quite lovely! She asked if I wanted to wait or be seated so I waited. The lobby was so elegantly decorated with a rustic feel. My friend got there and we were seated right away and the waiter really knew how to read the table to know when to come. He got our drinks and the appetizers, he then came back and I got the spicy yellowtail roll and the spicy tuna roll which were so delicious! It was really a great way to catch up! I would definitely recommend this place

Made a reservation at 2:30pm only to Find out the kitchen closes at 2:45pm! There are TWO Morimoto Napa restaurants (one says Asia the other doesn't) we happened to go to the wrong one and missed the opportunity to eat here. THEY SHOULD LET PEOPLE KNOW THIS WHEN MAKING THE RESERVATION. We are from Santa Clara and traveled to Napa just to be let down. AWFUL! We even mentioned we were on our honeymoon, but they didn't seem to care much.

Two stars for failed service, regarding low class, drunken patrons dining in your establishment! We were a party of four, dining beside a large group of inebriated woman. These woman were so loud and obnoxious, the entire dining area was at the mercy of their bad behavior. No waiter or manager interfered, everyone was suffering. We had enough, my friend stood up, politely asking them to stop yelling. She was called four letter words, followed by being physically assaulted by one of them as they were walking out. She followed the girl to the front entrance, wanting to call the police, pressing charges for assault and drunk in public. Your hostesses were overwhelmed by the bad behavior and loud yelling, within several seconds your manager appeared, throwing these drunk woman out, sincerely apologizing to my guest. This should have never escalated to this point, your staff should have tossed them out long before or stopped serving them alcohol. Mind, the entire main dining area was complaining about these woman, people were outraged! People pay allot of money to dine in your restaurants, this kind of behavior should never be tolerated. Our waiter deeply apologized for this behavior, saying, I'm trying to get them paid and out. In the future, please intervene when guests are loud and disrespectful, your guests should never be subjected to this kind of behavior. My friend was horrified, she felt her entire experience was destroyed, nerves shot. We regularly dine at Morimoto Maui, excited to try your Napa Valley location. Your food and desserts are phenomenal, not impressed by the way this was handled. Your guests deserve an exceptional dining experience.

Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Morimoto Napa to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
