Our dinner here turned into one of the highlights of our Paris trip. The space feels relaxed and modern, not stiff like many fine dining places. We went with the tasting menu and each plate was beautifully crafted, showing off seasonal ingredients with a fresh approach. The wine pairings matched perfectly and added depth to the whole experience. Service was warm and attentive, giving just the right balance between professionalism and friendliness. Getting a table isn’t easy, but it’s absolutely worth planning ahead for.

This is a restaurant that is trying to be creative, and they manage to do so to some degree. They have put together some original dishes. The tasting menu is heavy on the vegetarian dishes, which is fine, just be aware of it. The flavor profiles were subtle at times and played well with the wine pairings. The only problem is that the pairings are maybe 1.5 to 2 oz (45-60 ml) and ok, if that is what they want to do, that is fine too, but that is not enough wine to even have more than a few sips with each dish, and I found that I was finishing my course with no wine several times and then sitting with no wine to drink as I waited for the next course. There were times when it was 15 to 20 minutes between courses. Come on guys, increase the pours and get the tempo right. If your pours are going to be this light those plates should come out much faster. Leaving your patrons with no wine is a faux pas, but also not giving someone enough wine to finish the course is too! I even ordered an extra glass of wine thinking that they would give me a normal 5 oz pour and I could sip on it when the pairing went dry. They charged me 20 Euro for another 2 oz pour. If you try this restaurant I suggest buying a bottle of wine and not doing the pairing.

At first glance, we were a bit taken aback by Septime’s simple, farmhouse vibe and its unassuming location. But as the meal unfolded, we were quickly reminded not to judge a book by its cover. What followed was the top dining experiences we had in Paris. Our waiter, a long-haired, charming guy from Indiana (fluent in French, of course), set the tone for a relaxed, fun and enjoyable meal. The food? Absolutely perfect. With a prix fixe lunch menu, you’re spared the burden of decision-making—just sit back and enjoy whatever the kitchen sends your way. Your only job is to choose the wine… though they’re happy to handle that for you too. Book early—as I'm sure you know, getting a table is not easy, and once you’ve been, you’ll understand exactly why.

Absolutely amazing lunch experience. We had the seven course tasting menu which was offered as it was Easter Monday. Every single dish was a 10/10 both in terms of the beauty of presentation and the flavors. We were mesmerized from start to finish. This experience is not to be missed!

The food was great - even my kids who don't like vegetables, much less asparatus, absolutely loved the white asparatus here. And I appreciated that the food was not particularly heavy. Definitely will come back if I can ever get another resy!
Beautiful Plates, Bland Palate
Septime's reputation promises an excellent dining experience, but the meal did not deliver. The presentation was gorgeous, but flavors often missed their target. A delicate serving of sautéed endive, rye sauce, rye bread, and pickled mustard seeds sounded good but came across as contained and out of balance in flavor. Japanese flan with Sabagnin sabayon was all about texture, not flavor. The portions were tiny, and the pacing throughout was off. For such a highly regarded restaurant, the food wasn't rich and complex as one would expect at this level. The beauty couldn't save the meal.

A dining room filled with staff effortfully delivering an experience without a single smile. Feels chopped. Food is fine. One inspired dish- beautiful white asparagus. The rest was creative. But just. Real downer to watch the kitchen and serving staff clearly want to be somewhere else.
Lunch
Lunch has 5 courses with 2 offerings from the kitchen: broth with juniper oil and then Comte gougeres with Comte sauce (decadent). First course beef tartare with langoustine consomme gel. Second course was watercress and rocket veloute soup with truffle oil and brioche with truffles. Third course was white asparagus with homemade XO sauce, chicken gravy (diabolically delicious! Favorite course!) and Meyer lemon. Fourth course was monkfish with grilled and pickled endive. Fifth course was creme prese with hazelnut liqueur with sabayon. Deceptively light and homey. Overall, excellent meal - light. Portions just right - full but not stuffed. Service was good. A lot of the waiters spoke English.

I said it before and I will say it again a 1 star in Europe is soo much better than a 1 star Michelin in NY and this place is no exception. Food and service were amazing. Each dish wowed my tast buds. See pics and begin to drool.

Dining at Septime is definitely a bucket list - with the 50 best restaurant in the world, highly regarded by Eaters and 1 Star Michelin, Septime is known for its forward pushing menu with a focus on seafood and its pairing with unique natural wines. Technically perfect cooking, a focused yet deep wine list & really warm, friendly service. Reservation is hard to come by but if you are willing to wake up at Paris time 10am with a 21 days in advance booking, you should be able to score a resy. Although for us in the US, 10am Paris time is middle of the night so could be challenging. Ambience is French countryside rustic - Didn't have to dress up, didn't have to wait for choreographed service or any of the nonsense that the low reviews seem to crave. Just a very good restaurant. Some of the pairings were super interesting and really transformed the dish. However, on the day of our service, some dishes (such as the grilled endive) was a bit of a let down. There was a wine that is intentionally oxidated, very daring pairing but I was not a fan. Would like to come back and give it one more try!

the food was aboslutely delicous and creative and just yummy french food. i know it's hard to get reservations and it might be hard to get in and also it's a busy busy spot so people might not like that but the food is truly amazing and worth trying to get to at least!

Was thrilled to dine here after securing a dinner reservation via the waitlist; however, I was met with lots of disappointment. Service: 0/5 1. Unprofessional behavior: Upon our arrival, we were excited to dine at the "11th best restaurant in the world" and took some photos of the interior. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, our servers, a woman named Ljuba and a man with a mullet and heavy French accent, reacted with eye-rolling and mocking laughter. Ljuba also consistently addressed us with a smirk and a condescending attitude. 2. Lack of knowledge for menu: When we asked about the ingredients in our hummus, the male server was unable to provide an explanation and did not offer to find out. Typically, Michelin-starred restaurants make sure their staff are well-versed in the menu and its preparation, but this was not the case here. 3. Inattentive and slow service: We had to wait abnormally long for our water to be refilled as the servers were preoccupied with joking around, as though the restaurant was an elementary school playground. Also, another party that arrived 30 minutes after us finished their meal about 50 minutes earlier. We had to wait extra long between courses and for the bill. Food: 3/5 1. Hair in food: We found a short strand of blond hair integrated into the bread that went with our hummus. I couldn't believe this was happening at a restaurant of this caliber. The servers only addressed it with a quick, insincere apology. 2. A few standout dishes; majority were average: The roasted zucchini dish had an acidic, yet creamy flavor that I particularly enjoyed. The strawberry basil sorbet was delectable, too. The rest were very average, and we also noticed how many dishes had distinctive Asian flavors and cooking methods. The potatoes were cooked similarly to Sichuan shredded potatoes, and the mushroom ravioli broth tasted exactly like Taiwanese beef noodle soup. Perhaps, these are flavors that taste novel to locals but to my group, they were very ordinary. Overall rating: 1.5/5 Septime does not deserve 11th place on the world's best restaurants. At 135 euros/person, it was completely not worth it.
Worth waking up at 3:00am to secure a reservation.
Innovative, well-balanced, thoughtful dishes. The young, friendly staff made the meal for me. I went to Italy twice this year because I wanted a good cappuccino. The cappuccino here was better.

Recently had a trip to Paris and of course had to seek out the World's Best Restaurants. Septime didn't not disappoint. While I read forums that getting a reservation being difficult, getting a lunch reservation was pretty easy - just make sure to know the date/time of when they come out and I don't think you even need to be there right at the dot. The spot is quaint with lots of grays and browns. Feels like a cabin and homey. The meal has a 5 course meal but they had a few extras that complimented the overall experience. All dishes were great but the highlights were, the first (deep) fried artichoke heart. I mean you can't go wrong with deep fried anything but it was tender and moist in the middle, but crispy on the outside with that hint of salt. The steak tartar was also a highlight and just a great version of a classic dish. The main fish dish was wonderful. Fish was tender, flakey, and "oily" from the nature flavor of the fish. The service was pretty great. They were generally attentive but at times, felt like it took a while to get their attention for certain things we needed. The experience was nonetheless amazing and I would totally recommend making a stop if traveling to Paris for a delightful and lighter meal compared to the usual heavy (IMO) French meals.

I don't understand how this restaurant got such high ratings. It seems totally fake to me. I travel a lot and love to try new restaurants. I didn't like the food at all. Not tasty not inspiring just purely bad food. The cheese platter was okay. How this restaurant is among the best in the world ??? After this experience I'll never trust restaurants rating anymore. It is a total joke in this case

Such a disappointing experience. We were so looking forward to going there for 7 years. The food was not tasty nor inspiring. I actually didn’t like anything except for the cheese. Are these ratings being manipulated because I can’t understand since a high rating for this restaurant.

As you'd expect, a really delicious and creative meal but almost underwhelming given the high expectations one would have of this restaurant. Reservations are notoriously hard to land; you have to book 21 days in advance at 10am local time and reservations are booked up in minutes. I enjoyed the more rustic feel of this restaurant as it's up-scale but still relaxed and not pretentious. The staff was very welcoming, taking our coats, explaining where all the ingredients come from, etc. Now on to the food; the lunch is a 5-course tasting menu while we got the 7-course tasting menu for dinner which was 135 euros. They started and ended the meal with a complimentary brioche with cheese (which was a deliciously light bread) and blood orange chocolate bite, respectively. Our favorite dishes were the roasted white asparagus with tempura fried garlic leaves and the aged red tuna with carrots. Both played on textures and temperatures perfectly with very refined, and well-paired flavors. I understand the farm to table and locally sourced approach but we did find ourselves wanting more protein and heavier flavored courses. Maybe just a personal preference but the meal felt very light overall. Presentation was charming and the whole meal was delicious but there was nothing mind blowing, which we were expecting given the accolades and caliber of the restaurant.

There are loads of exceptional restaurants in Paris with better food and service at much more reasonable price points. Note: Lunch bookings are five courses vs seven for dinner service. Reservation process: We had to stalk the page ~three weeks out to even try to book a spot, and finally managed to eek a booking in during a lunch midweek for four people. Service: Calling this out first as it was not the greatest. When you enter the restaurant, you are greeted as if you've stepped into the wrong restaurant and you don't have a reservation. But once it's clear a reservation was made, we were seated quickly, though at a family style table which we ended up sharing with three others. Food was meant to be staggered, but ours was a little too staggered with large gaps of time in between, particularly when compared to the three folks that were seated well after our third course. They caught up to our fourth course quickly. Food: Some of the dishes were interesting and delicious - the bread roll to start and the tempura dish. And they were certainly pretty to photograph, but nothing was extraordinary/blow your socks off. Atmosphere: For some reason, the place came off cold and unfriendly. Perhaps it was the rigidity of the wait staff, or the general unfriendliness. Overall: If we had to do all over again, we'd pass on this and spend far less for far more in taste and service elsewhere. Again, not terrible, just did not live up to the hype. Set your expectations accordingly.
I don't get the hype
Getting a reservation for this restaurant should be a competitive sport. I was finally able to score a reservation and was looking forward to the dining experience with friends. We did the wine pairing with our meal, and though the food was good, it wasn't memorable for any of us. Considering how difficult it is to obtain a reservation, I thought the food would be mind-blowing, but it wasn't. It definitely isn't worth the hype in my opinion.

We were really lucky to get a reservation for 4 early this month. My wife and I had dined here 4 years ago. My memories of this restaurant was that it was fine and this time, yes it was excellent. Reasonable prices, very creative dishes, great wine, the dessert was divine, best we had this trip. Unassuming but the food speaks for itself, delish!

If you can grab a table, don't hesitate! The food was a surprise from course to course. There is no menu, but they ask about allergies and preferences at the start of a meal. My teen daughter requested no cheese (I know - this is France, right) and they prepared versions of some dishes for her that were every bit as delicious as our own. Capers instead of goat cheese? Genius! Anyway, it was BY FAR our favorite meal during a week of Michelin-starred meals in Paris. We brought home their cook book.

So, I managed to score reservations at the much ballyhooed Septime restaurant. And was quite excited to experience this very hyped 1 Michelin star restaurant where you do not get to choose what you eat... The place only except reservations 3 weeks in advance in very narrow time window because seats go fast and have to be made online. I felt like I was very much part of the in-crowd suddenly! The restaurant surprisingly is located in a more rundown part of town, and I felt rather overdressed. So I recommend that you dress casual for this occasion if you decide to try the place. Septime is not like other Michelin Restaurants that I've been to. Far more casual and cozy. The atmosphere is intimate and rustic. The service is charming and cordial like a top romantic parisian cafe. But not like a high-end Michelin Restaurant. Like I mentioned previously guest do not get to choose what they eat, but they can inform the kitchen of any food allergies that you may have. There is a wine pairing option that we chose to skip. The price for both the tasting menu, wine tasting, and other beverages are all very reasonable, considering the reputation of the place and the quality of the offerings. We experienced lots of new falvor pairings, most of all, which were done quite well. The overall menu feels quite experimental with unique flavor concepts. Of course, there were some hits and misses. Since you can't choose dishes and the menu is always different. There's no use in making recommendations. But I would say that their use of spices and seasoning was excellent. The temperatures on the food could have been a tad bit warmer and the ecoutraments on the dishes and the overall unification of the meal seemed disjointed. But the experience was pleasant. I don't think I would try it again though.

To book you need to be ready with your credit card & know exactly how many people, the date, & time.. cause the reservations go fast! They open up 3 weeks in advance at 10 am (Paris time).

Set your alarm for a few minutes before 10am Paris time (4am NYC time) and continuously refresh the website until the tables appear - they appeared a few minutes after 4am when we were trying to book. Make sure that you auto fill the information that you need so that you don't waste time trying to type in your details - they ask for your name, phone number, credit card and any allergies. If you make key board short cuts on your phone for each of these inputs you should be able to get the reservation very quickly and beat others that are trying - that's what we did and we got a reservation at the time we wanted. Now onto the food/drinks - overall for the price, it really can't be beat - the food is solid (and can be gf friendly) and the wine pairings were extensive with unique wines from regions I would ordinarily not have tried. Would I wake up at 4am to get another reservation in the future? Probably not, but I'm glad we came and were able to experience it since the restaurant is consistently on the best in the world list.

m. EST to snag the Septime reservation! We came for lunch on a Monday and did the 70€ tasting. Highlights included a bean dish, tomato satay dish and veal sweetbreads. I will say we actually had a better meal at their sister restaurant Clamato (on the same block) a few nights later, but this was solid overall. I don't think it was worth the difficult res process, so not sure I would recommend.

I visited back in March 2022 for lunch after making 21 international calls in an attempt to secure a reservation-- the process has since become far more streamlined. While not every dish was my favorite, the experience was incredibly memorable. The attention to detail was very apparent and the volume of food was perfect. The warm bread was unexpectedly one of the highlights of the meal lol, alongside the tuna entree. For 65€ a person (price may have gone up) tax and gratuity included, I thought it was a worthwhile experience.

It's definitely do-able. Set the time ahead and refresh right on the dot. The restaurant itself is not pretentious. We were in casual shirts and service was friendly. The dishes were very creative and flavors were complex. Standouts were the turnip juice, the grilled asparagus, steamed leeks, and the scallops.

Septime was one of the hardest reservations we have ever tried to secure. We crazily stayed up until 2:00am for an entire week trying to get reservations because they would be gone in less than a second. But our cray cray paid off and we were able to enjoy a good meal at one of the top restaurants in the world.The food was good but not great and I don't think I would be staying up late again trying to get these scarce reservations for this tiny restaurant. My two favorite dishes of the night were the mussels and veal. They were tasty and melt in your mouth delicious! At the time of this writing it is currently ranked #24 in the worlds top 50 and this only cements the fact that taste buds are totally subjective!
What a wonderful restaurant.
Very difficult to get in, but so worth it. An unassuming, casual spot with incredible food, drinks and hospitality. The meal isn't long - only about 5 or 6 courses, but each dish was so perfectly executed that I did not want the meal to end. The house-made juices are not to be missed, we had one of each. The pairing was great, somm was extremely knowledgeable, and the pricing for everything was extremely good. This is a restaurant that I would eat at regularly if I lived in Paris, and will be one that I return to every trip to Paris.

This is a long overdue review given that we visited in early June, but Septime was one of our favorite meals in Paris. Scoring a reservation was a stressful experience via online and phone, but ultimately I snagged a lunch spot. To note, we tried to utilize AMEX Platinum's concierge service but were told the restaurant no longer accepts 3rd party reservations and requires guests to book directly. We arrived almost 15 minutes past our res time, thanks to a prior meeting running late, but mercifully they still accommodated us. From there, our lunch experience was simply delightful from start to finish. I opted for the wine tasting and our sommelier was so knowledgeable - we appreciated hearing the story behind each wine, as opposed to being given a perfunctory explanation. Each of the dishes was creative, fresh, and flavorful, highlighting simple ingredients; the chicken ended up being our favorite (and chicken is normally my least favorite protein). My mom ordered one of the non-alcoholic beverages and it was beautiful and super refreshing. The restaurant itself is bright, cozy and rustic. Service was impeccable, as expected. One of our most memorable meals to date!
Excellent Food and service by servers but snotty condescending self absorbed attitude of Sommelier ruined the experience
This is the second time I have eaten at Septime. The first was back in 2012 when it was not as sought after as it is now (high end parisians didn't go to the sketchy 11th but it was on the radar as an up and comer which is what I look for on my visits to major cities). Having not been able to get a reservation due to demand in the last 4 trips to Paris, some friends and I were able to snag one this time. Well, let me tell you first, that the women behind the bar at their holding bar or Cave across the street was a dream. She was pleasant and accommodating. The space is super, old parisian cool. We moved across the street to the restaurant and the servers were great, the food amazing ( we had the 7 course wine pairing menu). Here is where it goes down hill. While the food was excellent, diversified and tasty on so many levels and, frankly, the wine pairings were spot on ( I know a little about wine pairing by training), the self absorbed condescending attitude of the sommelier and the way he treated us by talking down to us when we asked the simplest of questions or tried to engage him in simple conversations such as "Where are you from?", "Where did you study wine?". Anything was met with a talking down, dismissive, attitude that didn't ruin the meal but made him having to come back 7 times an annoyance. Then of course, we knew we could afford to eat there and, short of being an employee, we knew he couldn't, so we could more easily dismiss him, than him us,. But for C sake, we are the customer. We weren't rude, we were inquisitive and a sommelier, like all servers in a restaurant, need to enhance the dinner's experience but I was totally put off and won't return

Septime is among the most difficult places to book, not only in Paris but anywhere. I did not succeed in 2017 and 2019. This time we booked lunch, with three mobile phones and the help of a colleague all hitting the website at 9:59:59 am for a slot three weeks later. It was worth it. Lunch was extremely pleasant, with the surprise 5 course menu offering simply constructed but tasty dishes with harmonious flavours. The marinated raw scallops with yuzu, a dish with autumn mushrooms and a creamy almond flavoured broth and the dish main (merlan) were all very good. The winelist is almost entirely made up of organic and bio wines. The Greek wine as an apero was fine, the bottle of St-Aubin from H. Lamy very good... Service was efficient and fast but friendly. As was to be expected, the place was totally packed and many would-be lunchers turned away....

A wonderful dining experience with a thoughtful menu that was executed to perfection. Each course involved simple ingredients and introduced elevated flavors and textures. The only downside was the place is small so it can feel cramped but for the price and quality of food, I could overlook this minor concern. I enjoyed each of the 7 courses and will definitely try for another reservation when I return to Paris!

I wish I could review the restaurant but all I can comment on is the online reservations. I woke up in the middle of the night in California and had the reservation on my screen. Their system(zenchef) couldn't process my card (I tried several) and eventually timed out. Very frustrating.

* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* EternalAnt36, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* EternalAnt36 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to EternalAnt36 for any questions Peter may have as EternalAnt36 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* EternalAnt36 now uses their connections at Septime Paris to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If EternalAnt36 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
