Very intimate & quiet dining if looking for a nice relaxed
Very intimate & quiet dining if looking for a nice relaxed dining experience. The wait staff are very helpful and accommodating. As for the food, they are known for their prime rib. Their prime rib is buttery and so tender. You can easily cut through your choice cut with a knife and melts in your mouth. I would note their creamed spinach, mashed potatoes & Yorkshire pudding is not so great as a compliment to the prime ribs. Very mediocre & disappointing to say the least in regards to those sides. Nonetheless the star of the show is the prime rib that justifies it all.

Okay this place is such a gem! Firstly it is very easy to get reservations on open table. I highly recommend making a reservation because they do have limited availability due to the size of the restaurant. Now we did learn their bar area is open seating and you can enjoy it, if seats are available. The entire environment is full of amazing history and just such a unique atmosphere. Truly LOVE how the staff shares stories from this incredible restaurant. Parking is super easy. You can either pay the valet and park on site. You can also get free street parking. This restaurant is located essentially in a neighborhood. So you can definitely find street parking, if you are willing to walk. Overall the food is so good and delicious. The service is some of the fastest service I have ever received. Truly a remarkable experience and I look forward to visiting again.
I had the bone in Rib eye.
It was delicious. Ambiance was wonderful. Service was great.

I visited this restaurant on Father's Day, which was likely a factor in my less-than-ideal experience due to the high volume of diners. Unfortunately, my food was cold and bland. The waitress, who was very apologetic, mentioned she was assigned tables both inside and outside, which might have contributed to the infrequent visits to our table. I sat outside, where the setup was comfortable and inviting. Although I didn't get a full look inside, the interior appeared to be quite impressive, reminiscent of an original dark steakhouse with cherry wood and red leather seating. While I appreciate the effort on such a busy day, based on my experience, I wouldn't choose to dine here again.
Wonderful staff across the board.
Very accommodating ( they made sure we got the coveted table 31) and the food was great. A great restaurant for night out
Went for the first time for Father's day.
I had high expectations as I'm a huge fan of Lawry's in Beverly Hills and Five Crowns in Newport Beach. Unfortunately, it was underwhelming on across the board. They seemed to be understaffed and the hostess and waiters seemed frazzled. The food was disappointing. I ordered prime rid medium rare, as always. The food arrived about 30 seconds after we ordered. It was so rare I struggled to cut it. The vibe, food and service is better at the other Lawry's restaurants.
The service was wonderful.
I order French onion soup. It was nothing but water-down soup. They replaced it with lobster chowder that was watery and had no flavor. The mashed potatoes didn't taste like anything without the gravy. The prime rib was okay. The beer was good, lol. If you're looking for a good prime rib w/sides go somewhere else.
Ordered Burnt ends and creamed spinach at the bar.
Food was barely edible and service was meh.

My family has been coming here for generations and we normally rave about it. The past two times I've been here though there were some issues that make me hesitant on coming back. I was here with friends a few weeks ago and one of the plates for the bread has old hard food smudged on it and last time I came a week ago there was a bug already in my water when it arrived at the table and we were seated indoors, normally service is great and the atmosphere is perfect. Might come back at some point but sadly I will be giving space to this establishment for the time being.
Not recommendable
The restaurant is located near Lake Hollywood Park. With easy parking (paying $10), the historic establishment is located in a beautiful building with a garden. Well decorated place, with a lot of service, but little organized. Cleaning very improvable. menu of mainly meat, without any preparations that stand out. Low quality meat, poorly cooked and worse served. Exaggerated prices for the quality offered. The waitress who served us was very friendly. It is not worth it, since it is expensive and bad. Not recommended.
Excellent Prime Rib
We love Lawry's, so thought we'd give her sister restaurant a try. Friendly, expedient service and excellent prime rib dinner, as expected. Nice patio dining experience. Good alternative if you want the Lawry's food without the dress-up experience of Beverly Hills.
So So Food & Service
We were there with a large group tour of Disney fans who wanted to see where Walt lunched with colleagues. Hope it was better when Walt was hanging out there! The service was poor--rushed, inattentive, barely acknowledging us as they dropped off the food. We never saw the server after that since it was a group bill. The food was just OK including their prime rib that was a bit tasteless. The salad had no dressing & when asked for it, never materialized. The ambiance is quaint, if a bit run down. Unless you are a hard core Walt Disney fan, avoid this place.
Walt was here
A couple of years ago, I read Walt Disney hashed out Snow While and the Seven Dwarves at Tam O’Shanter. Since I am a Disney fan, I had to pay a visit. A couple of days ago (Saturday Dec 23) before the Chargers game, we stopped in for brunch. Although the portions were small, it was sitting at Walt’s table that made it worthwhile.
Great Prime Rib
Perfectly cooked Prime Rib and the creamed spinach was a wonderful surprise. Service was wonderful and friendly with Melissa.

Excellent food (I had the burger) and the service was great too. I didn't know about this local Scottish restaurant before but my friend recommended it and I enjoyed it very much.
Place was good as always.
Got CA cut and portion seemed smaller than I remember but still high quality and prepared well. Old Fashioned was fantastic.

From the Valet to the server and everyone in between, the service on St. Patrick's Day was MAGNIFICENT! I was able to get a late minute table on St. Patrick's Day to start off! I was excited as my young daughter was joining me. We started with the Montgomery Ranch's salad, which was delish! We followed it up with the leek & potato soup (my daughter's fav!), we then rounded it off with a extra thick-cut prime rib, (medium-rare). We topped it off with a hot fudge sundae! Everything was yummy and as I mentioned before, the service was superb! May the 'Shanter be around for another 100 years!

Enjoyed 2 appetizers suggested by the server, Eileen who was extremely knowledgeable. The rarebit and French onion soup were excellent. Out main course of the thick cut prime rib and filet mignon were served perfectly prepared and the side vegetables were perfect! We celebrated our first anniversary of our proposal, I'm 67 and my wife is 64. We got together during COVID and discovered we were meant for each other!
I've enjoyed the Tam in tge past for Christmas prime rib
I've enjoyed the Tam in tge past for Christmas prime rib dinners. Something has gone wrong there since. I was there yesterday Mar 20, 2023 for lunch and ordered a corned beef sandwich. The meat tasted spoiled and looked "off," as well. They graciously brought me a hamburger once I complained, but even the hamburger was just so-so. I sure hope they clean up their act, and I won't go back until I hear from some friend or acquaintance that, in fact, they have done so. What a pity. I will stick with the Robin Hood Brit pub in Sherman Oaks.
This restaurant definitely provides the charming pub
This restaurant definitely provides the charming pub atmosphere, which I love, transporting you to another place when you're there. The restaurant also boasts to the fact that Walt Disney himself and other executives would dine there and talk business. We had the pleasure of dining at Mr. Disney's exact table, which has writings on it and a plaque commemorating it's history. You cannot reserve the table because it's accessible only on a first come, first serve basis availability but if you're willing to wait it does seem like the staff will accommodate you. The staff did so for us which was much appreciated. The food was delicious. I'm not much of a prime rib person but others with me are and thought it was good. I received a commemorative drink cosey for their 100th anniversary with my Yelp check in so I'm never upset about a freebie and if you're the same, be sure to check in. The service was great. They were very busy but it seems like everyone pitches in to ensure the customers are taken care of. Our birthday girl was also treated to a special dessert so they was a nice added bonus.

Service: 1 starFood: 2 star Ambiance: 4Came here tonight and sat in the indoor bar area. Greg was our server and the whole experience was disappointing. I felt completely un-welcomed. I respect that it was busy and didn't expect speedy service, but I wasn't ready to be treated rudely and as if any question my family had was a huge inconvenience for him. The burger was great and fries delicious. I give those a solid 4 stars. We ordered two chopped salad and two winter salads came out. It took a while to get Greg's attention to ask and we were told that the menu changed. Fair enough, new chefs come in and change thing up a bit. Though, I don't agree that a chopped salad can suddenly become a mixed spring salad. But hey, new chef, new rules. However, once again, Greg treated my family like we were inconveniencing him because we questioned the salad. The whole reason we went there was to have the chopped salad that we just had a week prior. The ambiance is great. Exactly what you'd expect from an English pub. I give the bussers 5 stars for their friendliness and willingness to fill our water and bring us straws (sorry turtles). They made us feel welcomed. Overall I give it a 2 because of the poor service and the chopped salad was a spring salad. Even if the menu changes, a chopped salad should be chopped.

First of all the experience and customer service was perfect on a busy Saturday night. The food was perfect. I had better overall food, but my prime rib was done right. If you love prime rib, come here.
Update! We went back for St.
Patrick's Day, and had a blast once again. Martin is the best bartender in California. By a long shot. Here's us taking a picture together and Martin photo bombing us in the background! Ha ha ha he's the best.
We had lunch on 3/18/2023 for my husband's birthday.
It was the Saturday after St Patrick's day so we figured the crowd would be manageable. The food was excellent as always. I had the Yorkshire eggs Benedict which came with 3 slices of the prime rib. The eggs were poached perfectly. The salad was unnecessary, but appreciated. My husband and brother both had the Prince Charlie cut prime rib with creamed corn. I stole some bites. Delicious! As a birthday treat, my husband got the rare whisky flight. He really liked it. I'm not a drinker so I can't comment, but suffice it to say that the flight led to a trip to pick up full bottles of a couple of these. The service was most excellent. The waiter brought the birthday boy a strawberry trifle with a candle, and I ordered a crème brûlée. Overall, a fantastic meal. I have their loyalty card and earned $25 towards my next visit. I will be putting that $25 to good use soon.

We went to the Tam on a weeknight because Lawrys was too far for us lol. Valet parking for $8 and the service was slow - we had to flag down our server every time we wanted service. It was cozy inside and the setting is adorably old. The chairs can be a bit awkward because they are so cushy that they sink a bit too far down, so we put our tallest person in that chair. Prime rib was good though less flavor than I remember. The meat quality was fantastic. Their sides are good as well, though the Yorkshire pudding was burnt on my plate. It was an alright experience but we likely won't be back when there are so many other restaurants around.
Super disappointed on St Patrick's Day.
My friend and I both ordered the holiday special "Pot O Gold" entree... $36 for about one ounce of sliced beef, some vegetables and gravy on an over-cooked Yorkshire pudding. Royal rip off. I ordered a beer and got it in a plastic cup. Fer feck sake! Never again!

3.5 stars for food and waitress Jill. Came here for St. Patrick's Day. Food was good, always reliable! Jill was our waitress and she was great! Checked in on us at the right times. Also, she helped us with getting a bottle of Tam's Benromach. -1.5 for customer service. The hostess (older, maybe African American? woman) was rude as hell. Parking was dumb. Tried to pull into a disabled parking since my bf is blind. Was told to stop and move because the space was for the GM...who didn't seem to have any type of physical disability? Didn't see a placard either- not surprising as most persons with disabilities are treated as second class citizens. #ADA
SARAH was amazing!!!I came here for a bday brunch on
SARAH was amazing!!!I came here for a bday brunch on Saturday with a large party. It was my first time here so I didn't know what to expect, got kinda lost trying to find my way in. LOL. The restaurant is a lot bigger than it looks!! The decor was interesting. It definitely is a unique place.Sarah was super attentive and gave us all time to talk and get there. We were all kinda late due to the time change, but she wasn't bothered. We never felt rushed. We had our breads and waters refilled frequently. It was a smooth and easy experience. The food was okay. I got the prime rib because it was "world famous" and I don't know if I like it. I'm not a big prime rib eater so I can't really judge.I'm honestly just writing this review because I want to thank Sarah for being so awesome and putting up with us!!Thank you!! :)
Always on Point
We celebrated Valentine’s Day three days later at The Tam O’Shanter which is always a good place for special occasions due to their consistency. Only down side was the person who took us to our table, she was a bit snooty. The upside our server and the food. My wife and I both had the Prime Rib of Beef Crown Cut hers medium with cream corn, mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding and mine with cream spinach, mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Both cuts of meat cooked perfectly and yes, a must the whipped cream horseradish and the regular horseradish. One thing I say each time there is their Yorkshire pudding was better than what we had in London. We topped off the evening sharing a chocolate fudge sundae.
Charming Decor
I loved the ambiance. As we walked in the bar was busy and the dining room full. Good sign! We had a reservation for 2 and were sat in a back empty room. No buzz, just a loud static speaker blaring The Monkees. Ambiance was gone. The food was ok. I believe this place gets by on their lore and charm. The prime rib wasn’t the best nor the worst I’ve ever had. I’d go back and sit in the bar. Our server was nice. The hostess was semi-unwelcoming, but maybe an off night.
GREAT FOOD, GREAT ATMOSPHERE, GREAT SERVICE AND LIVE MUSIC IN THE PUB ON A FRIDAY NIGHT!!
It had been many years since my friend and I had been to this wonderful restaurant, filled to the brim with character and happy, attentive employees. Eileen was our server in the pub, where we had chosen to sit so we could enjoy the live music. In a word, she was OUTSTANDING! It was an extremely fun and pleasant local band with an Irish twist called Whiskey Sunday. A good time was had by all! I highly recommend the fish and chips as it was some of the best I have ever had, but we ordered quite a few things and everything was delicious. Try the blueberry cocktail😉 HIGHLY RECOMMEND
