This place is fantastic to sit down, watch a few games, have a few drinks and enjoy. They handle crowds really well. I can't emphasize that enough! We walked in this afternoon while the Chicago Bears were playing the Lions, and it was super crowded but we found a table upstairs. Great environment, and the wait staff knows how to handle bouncing around keeping folks with full drinks and bellies. Very well done. The food? Terrific. The drinks? Awesome. We tried the wings and ended up with dessert (see below), all of which were delicious and far above what you would expect from a sports bar. This was more like gastropub quality, which is so delightful. We also had a bit of a wait on the wings (the system had a hiccup--it happens; no big deal), and waitress gave us free shots and dessert. Totally not requested and absolutely appreciated. The way they handled this left such a positive impression, and they were busy enough that they didn't have to go out of their way to apologize. This place is focused on how to treat and appreciate their customers! Terrific spot.

Came here around 7 o'clock on a Thursday night, for a football game, lots of TVs and they have game audio. It was very busy, they have indoor outdoor seating, we did not have a reservation, but we were seated immediately! Our service was pretty good for how busy it was! We did order a decent amount of food and drinks, but it was a little pricey. 4 stars just because my wrap was supposed to be on a brioche bun... and that was the whole reason I ordered it, and they didn't let me know they were out of brioche until my food came out. Over all pretty good experience!
We went to Theory for trivia night and had a great time.
The atmosphere was lively without being overwhelming, and the staff kept things moving smoothly even with a packed crowd. The food and drink was exactly what I needed after a long day. It's nothing special but sometimes you just need a good burger. Between the food, drinks, and trivia night energy, I'll definitely be back. - AD
We came to the theory bar for trivia night.
I ordered the Southwest egg rolls and the turkey wrap. Along with a Michelob ultra and a bottle of Joel Gott wine. Service was fine and relatively quick. The aviance is a typical sports bar looking type place.

I've been to a of places and I can't recommend Theory enough. Joel and his staff are so friendly and accommodating. You will guaranteed have the best time!
Waffle fries and waitress were great.
PLENTY of TVs, good selection of beers, and the food was solid
A little overpriced, but the food is really tremendous.
Service was a little rude, but other than that I enjoyed my time here.
food is unreal and vibes for gameday are unbeatable.
Joel and the staff treated us like family after just a few visits. Highly recommend!
great sports bar.
sat upstairs. a touch easier to talk. fun and servers are hustling. tried the chicken nachos and they were great. very organized how they were served. not a mess of nachos but rather individual mini nacho sandwiches. great experience for watching a sports game.

On a recent visit to Chicago, my wife and I stopped by Theory to watch the Warriors play in the first game of the conference semi-finals. We wanted to find a Warriors fan-base away from home we could cheer with, and with just a little bit of searching around on Yelp, Theory was recommended. In short, there's no better spot in Chicago to watch a Warriors game. The hyped up crowd here really gets into the game and the energy is infectious. On big plays, you'll definitely see fans high-fiving other fans sitting around them. If you check out the photos of Theory, you'll know that the place has every imaginable wall covered with a TV, even in the hallway to the bathroom. Since we just came from dinner, we were unfortunately too full to try any of the food. However, if you're just here for drinks, they have a wide selection of beers on draft and plenty of well-drinks you can order as well. Overall, I had a fantastic night and I would 100% come back again to watch a Warrior's game.
Watch it
Great place to watch sports! We walked in the door, and the guy at the door asked what game we wanted to watch. He was all over it and kept us up to date about when the game would start. Wow! We sat at the bar! Good queso! Jason, or bartender, was great!
Sports bar with a differnt look!
Very different and "higher end" (upstairs especially) look for a place that is basically a sports bar. Menu was decent and drinks made well (and beer cold). Glad we "fell" into on our visit!
Wish for a happy ending
Me and my team were looking for a place to eat a nice burger near our hotel. We read the reviews and we saw photos of the place, we liked it, so we decided to visit. The staff was friendly so as our waitress Maria and the dishes we ordered were delicious (salad, Mac&cheese flatbread, Theory Burger etc) . There is a chance to watch a lot of matches there as all the store is covered with tvs. However, when the bill came, it was quite obvious that the owner had added in the bill and extra charge for the service (3% and quite well he did) so we payed without letting any extra tip. By the time we went out of the store, an irrelevant woman came near us, she started yelling that we had stole the waitress, to go back to our country and that we are very bad people because we did not let any extra tip besides the one added. Once I asked her if the owner knew the conversation that she made she left and never stopped calling (very bad and offensive) names. I had such a nice time at that restau-grill and I was planning to write a nice review, however you have to fix the things with the tipping if your staff is not okay with your current tip sharing system and be careful with the irrelevant people who are trying to destroy the nice work you guys are doing.
Delicious cocktails
One of the best place to hang out with your friends in a Theory Sports Bar $ Grill. The drinks were fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was laid-back and inviting. I can't wait to come back and try more of their delicious cocktails!
Fun trivia night with great food and service
We stopped by on "New Girl" trivia night for drinks and food. We had the quesadilla, turkey stack, and one of the wraps with fries and tater tots. The food was so good! We loved the atmosphere and had amazing service - thank you for taking great care of us, Maria!
Fantastic for sports fans
We found out Theory has a New England Patriots fan club for every game, so we went on our visit to Chicago...it was fantastic! We arrived early to view several NFL games on large screens while we ate and drank, followed by the Patriots on most screens for the afternoon game. The Theory venue is great, but our Patriots are mediocre like in the 80s and 90s...
Hard Pass
Standard bar food. GOOD Sliders, we ordered twice. Juicy, seasoned decent and fresh with a toasted buttered bun. The accompanying Tator Tots were lukewarm and disappointing. Not worth sending them back. Service is efficient but listless if you are not a regular then it becomes a bit more perky. The exception is the Angela Bassett doppelganger, who was friendly, very welcoming and personable, while remaining productive with our seating and other guests who came behind us. The Buffalo wings were coated and came room temp at best. You can tell they're pre-cooked with possibly a quick refry then maybe a light toss in sweetish sauce that soaked into the floured coating. This is why a hard fry without a floured coating is better, unless you fry the coated wings FRESH, which they did not do by a longshot! Additional Buffalo sauce will cost extra, which sucks because the sauce they toss in is soaked into the breaded chicken and come dry. A "sports" bar/pub, in particular, SHOULD BE providing unlimited condiments! The accompanying dressing is your choice of either flavorless Ranch or Blue Cheese with a few sparse pieces Celery and Carrot crudite. The drinks are NOT worth the price. If anything, maybe the "strong" Manhattan with Pig Whistle Bourbon at $16. The Apple Cider Mimosa, at best, ONLY should have been $7-9. The $11 price is robbery, especially when I told them a splash of Cider and the wait person stated, "Well, you won't get anymore Champagne, your glass will be a little over half full." Overall, this place can easily be a HARD pass!
