Great food, terrible service
Took a client here for dinner. Ignored for 15 minutes after being seated. Food arrived in decent time and was very good. We were planning to order dessert etc but after menus were delivered, we were left alone for about half an hour. All the waiting staff seemed to have disappeared Gave up and got the bill. Really took the edge off the evening. With so much choice in the City Iโd think twice before returning
Be the first to ReplyNo veggie options
My boyfriend and I had planned to go here for our anniversary. However, they have changed their menu 4 days before our booking to a menu that includes no veggie option apart from a butternut squash, which I would argue is not realistically an ample meal. We are very disappointed, as this has now ruined our anniversary plans and we have had to book somewhere else (costing us additional taxi money). The restaurant needs more veggie options urgently. We are gutted.
Be the first to ReplyPoor for vegetarian cuisine
This restaurant must hate vegetarians. That's the only explanation I have for this travesty of a meal. They served me a slab of butternut squash and a smear of cold celeriac and thought this was acceptable. Desert was supposed to be a cheesecake but I got a thick biscuit base with a thin cheese layer and some flavourless fruit compote on top. The starter was nice. A burrata, but that's hard to mess up. I do not recommend this as a fine dining experience if you are vegetablist inclined.
Be the first to ReplyLovely atmosphere and friendly staff!
Lovely place and very friendly staff. The food was delicious! I had the lobster salad as a starter and Ribeye steak as a main both delicious! The wine list was also very diverse. The decoration is really warm and fresh and the views are amazing! I thought this place was going to be super touristic but actually that was not the case!

Was pleased to stumble across this place at the end of a sunny February day in London. A rather expensive glass of wine, but it was a nice drink and the view was breathtaking. Hope to come back and sample the menu.
Be the first to ReplyValentines Dinnerโฆ.not the best
I booked here as it was listed as one of the most romantic restaurants in London. It was also our 20th Wedding Anniversary, which I specified in the reservation. The Valentines Menu looked good as well, really looked forward to itโฆ. However there were a number of issues through the evening which let down the occasion for us somewhat. Front of house wasnโt as welcoming as it could have been, staff appeared frantic and more concerned with the systems in front of them than warmth of greeting. The human touch was missing - disappointing given at reservation you are given the opportunity to provide a photo of yourself and indicate special occasions to help provide a personal touch. None of this happened on the night, which given the anniversary was a big letdown. The decor is amazing, the place has a buzz and is large, the music was quite loud and quite uptempo for Valentineโs night, which detracted from the ambiance a bit - not especially romantic. The cocktails were good though. Food was good - parfait starter was lovely, beef main was delicious. Dessert was an issue - the menu didnโt specify the pavlova was for 2, and there were two choices only. My wife isnโt a chocolate fondant fan, so we were forced down the pavlova route. The pavlova was quite disappointing and a poor end to the meal. Sommelier was excellent, very helpful. Some of the other staffing was a bit haphazard, rushed. The bill arrived, which contained items we hadnโt had, overcharged, so that had to be rechecked - not great. We collected our coats, again no great warmth on departure, everything appeared slightly disorganised, not the smooth, warm experience expected - service as a whole felt a bit like being on a conveyor belt. Overall the food was good, decor great, but what should have been a very special anniversary dinner was just okay - good restaurants appear effortless and thoughtful, 14 Hills didnโt quite deliver. Okay, not particularly memorable.

We decided to visit 14 hills on Sunday the 12th of Feb to celebrate Valentineโs Day as work would necessitate me to travel on actual Valentineโs Day. I researched the menu in depth as my partner is pescatarian and allergic to dairy. The menu while minimalist had a reasonable selection of vegan/vegetarian, meat and fish options. When we arrived we were seat at a bench like table setting parallel to 3 other couples, it felt a bit cramped and elbow bumping so I approached the staff to ask if there were any tables by the window available. They were fully booked but made a concession to grant my request. 5 mins later the manager moved us to a widow view table. Having outlined my partnerโs dietary requirements it was devastating to find out that they had run out of both the lobster salad starter and the halibut main. My partner was left with no viable option for starter and was sat eating bread. As an apology the manager offered her a free desert to compensate. I had the tartare, it was just โokโ not the worst but not the best Iโve had either. The lamb however was a major disappointment, when itโs served the waiter/waitress purrs a Jus over it that reminded me of plum sauces that you get from a chines restaurant, it was actually really nice, problem is that it was the only sauce of flavour in the dish. The lamb wasnโt seasoned at all and was flavourless, the Swiss chard was equally as tasteless, the manager offered to replace or change the dish however at this point I was so hungry I didnโt want to wait to have something else made, also it was 9:25 and I know the kitchen closes at 9:30 and I didnโt want it rushed to be disappointed again so I continued with the plate in front of me. She graciously removed the lamb from the bill. A little disappointed at the whole mess we paid the bill complete forgetting dessert, the manager instead gave us 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. Every single member of staff we interacted with was amazing, and truly attentive but I have never been somewhere and served by no less than 5 different servers, takes away from the personal touch but the team are a credit to the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyThe Return
After such a nice time on my first visit I just had to return. The food was amazing, vibe was spot on and itโs just a beautiful venue. Next time Iโm definitely coming for an evening meal but I most definitely will return for brunch
Be the first to ReplyNo A La Carte
Went for birthday lunch on a Saturday. When I booked, it gave me the option of Brunch or ร la carte menu, so I picked the latter. [Why I even have to do that, I don't know...] Got there - They don't tell you that there's airport-style security on the ground, meaning approx 10 minute wait. Would've been nice to know! Sat down - only the brunch menus. Asked for the ร la carte, but was told they only do that evenings. VERY annoyed. How come Opentable offers ร la carte? How's nobody spotted this yet? It was a birthday meal, I wanted the bigger menu, not brunch... Anyway, nobody came to take drinks orders, so we grabbed someone... ordered cocktails, and starters, and they both came at once! Mindboggling.... We then waited ages for the mains. Which is fine, we weren't in a rush... but why not give us 10 mins to enjoy the cocktails before bringing the starters? Basic stuff! I had steak tartare (very nice), then eggs Benedict (average). Everyone seemed to enjoy their food - octopus was yummy, trout v good, beetroot starter v nice... Poire Helene dessert was good, and big wine list. Service could've been better (initially). Ambience is nice (although most of the plants seemed fake!). View is better from the roof garden. Just disappointed they weren't doing the main menu. If I'd known that when I booked, I would've gone elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, poor service.
The food was lovely and nice atmosphere. The service however was sub standard and for those prices we expected much better. The waiters we unattentive, we had to ask several times for sauces for our steaks and for more drinks. The greeters on the doors we lovely though and made us feel welcome
Be the first to ReplyDO NOT TOUCH
Told to wait - now can't have the menu we requested. We walked in, were made to wait, could not be made to feel as unwelcome as we ever have in ANY establishment. Disgusting service, waiter couldn't care. Woman at the door was smug with a stick up her a**e. Don't touch!
Be the first to ReplyNice but could be better for the price
We came on a Saturdayโฆstarters lovely. I had the octopus which was delicious but tiny portion. My two friends had the steak which was extremely tough. We mentioned to waitress, as wondered if it was because they had opted for medium rare. She said she would pass on our comments but we didnโt hear anything more.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointingโฆexpect to rush your food
The venue is beautiful, the menu is rather limited&expensive, sides like veg&chips are an extra ยฃ7 odd on top, the food however was tasty. The negatives- we arrived 10 minutes late due to tube delays(&the wait downstairs at security), we were told we only had 1 hour 20 minutes left of our time slot&would have to vacate the table once this time is up, the waitress also hovered at a station next to us and we felt like we were being watched- for an up market place like this; the time restraints&the way we felt on edge&rushed wasnโt a great experience hence only 3 stars (it would have been lower if it hadnโt have been for the decor&food
Be the first to ReplyA treat!
Had a great meal here. The menu is small but every dish we had was really tasty. The staff were lovely and the cocktails were excellent. Decor is amazing. Itโs not cheap but would return for a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyMore than just a great view
Brilliant vibe from the moment we walked in. Great beach club type music that isn't too loud and in your face but you could easily dance to. Turned up 15 minutes late and were treated brilliantly as if nothing was a problem and were given an amazing table right by the window. Menu is limited but I think that shows how much care goes into each dish as everything we ate and saw looked incredible. Best pork chop we have ever had and even the sides were sensational. I had the cod with mussels which was delicate and tasty. We were left in peace to enjoy our drinks after dinner and were not rushed off in the slightest. The only thing I would change is the selection of lagers as it is limited. The only draft is peroni which we don't like and they only had an IPA as a bottle. Would definitely go back again for the food and the atmosphere and would recommend to anyone.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent lunch
14 Hills is superb. Food was great and I recommend the pork or the chicken. Great views out over the city and nice theme to the place. Recommended.
Be the first to ReplyThe best way to celebrate a birthday
Dined at 14 Hills to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and it has been a fantastic experience. Beautiful sight of London, coupled with breath taking insights where the dominant theme is plants and nature. Good european/Mediterranean cuisine and as competent as gentle personnel. They also have a wide selection of drinks (both originals from the house and traditionals) so I would recommend also for a drink pre/post dinner. Not cheap, but that is to be expected.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic
I came here with my friends on a Sunday for the brunch and it was absolutely amazing. The decor was lovely, the staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the food was cooked to perfection. My only critic is that I wish the toilets werenโt mixed.. the summer salad consisted of different colour tomatoโs and I do feel like the set menu could have better variety.. never the less I enjoyed the food and the view. Lovely lovely staff, clean and great food!
Be the first to ReplyNot sure what the fuss is about!
The positives: Great service. Very attentive and caould not be faulted. The room is interesting, different and attractive. Negatives: The food is good, but overpriced. The wine list is overpriced. Would I go back? Not at my expense. If someone else is paying, then maybe, but there are better options out there.
Be the first to ReplyA bar in the centre of the City on 14th floor with a roof garden
Well stocked good list of spirits wine and even beer. 14 Hills also has a resto. Friendly staff, 360 degree views of London. No booking required for the bar
Be the first to ReplyGreat Ambience
We ate dinner in the evening with business colleagues. The design and ambience are great, as is the view. The wine was excellent, but the food lacked finesse, with the sauce of the first course overpowering the tuna fish. Service was attentive and courteous.
Be the first to ReplyRude / unhelpful staff
Was advised to turn up for drinks bookings as couldnโt book online. Only two of us by the way. We had attended a lovely lunch booking beforehand so was looking forward to a couple of cocktails here. Yes we were dressed to impressed. No trackies or trainers etc.
Well what can I say RUDE / SNOBBY / ARROGANT front of house staff let alone manager. When you have a completely empty bar full of empty seats let alone a completely empty Lounge area full of empty seats they should remember that people are coming here to spend money. This isnโt Chelsea or the west end itโs fenchruch streetโฆ..
So yes I wonโt be returning nor will any of my friends or family.
Loved this place!
I was a bit dubious after reading some of the previous bad reviews but all I can say I had a lovely experience at this restaurant, all the staff were wonderful, service was perfect, the food was great and so were the cocktails. On arrival I asked for a table near the window and they sorted that out for us with no trouble at all. I would thoroughly recommend and will definitely be visiting again. Thankyou 14 Hills
Be the first to ReplyOverall fairly disappointed
Firstly the setting and location are amazing, there was a dj playing which added to the ambience
Food and service were disappointing though. Lobster Mac and cheese in particular. No prawns at all in the dish and the smallest portion. It was the size of a childrens portion. Overall at ยฃ100 per head for dinner and drinks I expected more. Definitely Over priced for what it is
Disappointing
Supper last night at 14 Hills. Prawns as a starter were ok, nothing special. Lobster thermidor as a main, the first mouthful tasted vaguely of thermidor but the rest was just very dry and bland lobster, the fries were burnt to a crisp. My son's duck was overcooked. We waited ages for 1 drink to be delivered, the service is dodgy at best. We had asked for the drink a few times and that wasn't charged for. Unfortunately we were so busy chatting, I forgot to complain about the main courses. Needless to say, I will not be rushing back.
