abcV New York Reviews from The Last Year
Favorite dish was the walnut bolognese or the purple yam.
Dosa - it is unstuffed and pretty basic, better to get it at an authentic indian place instead. Beets - this time they were a fibrous and less flavorful. Chickpea hummus - kind of bland, wish we had gotten a different starter. Beluga lentils - not worth it. We only tried it because they were out of the cauliflower.
Not impressed, sorry.
Was really busy brunch and servers were doing their best but honestly the food is ordinary and expensive for the portion sizes. Almond bananas pancakes were good but eggs on seared mushrooms bland and not at all seared, scrambled eggs also blah and small portion that took 40 mins to get... food took so long to get we canceled something and they were able to pull the ticket because it was still waiting to be made.... Sarabeth's or the smith better and better value for brunch.

Came in here a couple weeks ago when my friend, who is a vegetarian, came to visit NYC. Seemed like a nice place, with clean tables and a smiling hostess. My friend had a vegetarian burger. Hemp I believe. It was still cold on the inside. So she didnt eat the rest. I had a green spaghetti dish. I wasn't a fan, overdone and bland, but then again I'm not a vegetarian and don't know the norm for vegetarian/vegan food. I'd think though, at the least, they could make dishes edible for those of us who are either branching out, or suffering a fellow vegetarian and eating there with them. Oh well. The thing that really annoyed me though was the cook in the back. Younger woman. I saw that there were police officers coming in for a call or to use the bathroom or something. They didn't interact with her but every time she went past them she threw her hands up dramatically and did the "hands up don't shoot" bit like it was her job. This happened 3 times so I knew it wasn't a misconception on my part. It made us feel uncomfortable, like we were in an antagonistic atmosphere. We just came there to eat. That's it. It was just unnecessary. I understand and agree that everyone is entitled to their opinions and free speech, but at your place of employment? Remember you're representing the company in everything you do/say. Maybe the management should focus more on their workers cooking and preparing food instead of making political statements at a restaurant.

Lunch at abcV is surprisingly good as we didn't expect the plant based food menu. I just wanted to grab some lunch with my wife. It was like stumbling into a secret society where the members wield spatulas instead of swords and are on a valiant quest to elevate plant-based eating from mere sustenance to an art form. They don't just serve food; they serve enlightenment on a platter, with a side of cosmic wisdom and a sprinkle of culinary wizardry. Imagine if a Zen garden and a high-end spa had a love child, and that love child decided to open a restaurant with high vibration foods, balance and beauty, wellness, wisdom, and love? So much love, I feel the urge to hug my waiter (consensually, of course) but my wife said no. It's all designed to nurture not just our personal ecosystems but the planetary one as well. Eating here, I can't help but feel like I'm saving the world, one bite at a time. And the food--it's like each dish has been kissed by Mother Nature herself, then sent to culinary school. Who knew vegetables could be this indulgent? I half-expected the broccoli to levitate off my plate, such was the level of enlightenment it apparently possessed. My wife and I shared a dish that I'm convinced had achieved nirvana, and for a moment, I saw the universe in a grain of quinoa. abcV is an experience that transcends the mere act of eating. It's a culinary journey that promises not just a meal but a shift in consciousness. I left with a newfound appreciation for the humble vegetable. And perhaps, just perhaps, a yearning to nurture my own personal and planetary ecosystem--with a bit more wisdom, love, and a dash of deliciousness.

Where to begin.
Abcv and abc go tf off. The ambiance, service, food, everything: divine. Delicious. Relaxing, charming, elegant but cozy environment. Was in NYC for 1 night and had to come here.

abcV is an incredible intimate dining experience for anyone who appreciates vegetables at their peak flavor. The small plates sharing format means we got to try several dishes and portion sizes were great where 4 was enough for two people. My favorite dish was actually the green hummus. They also had a few off menu specials including this special grain that is harvested by burning. Decor is beautiful and the ambience is romantic and calming with the light hues and quiet chatter. Service was top notch. Note the entrance can be tricky to find as there is no signage outsid .

There were definitely a few standouts at abcV - love conquers all sparkling elixir, the california dates, avocado lettuce cups, and the cappucino for me, and the dosa for my husband - I'd go back for those items alone. We weren't sure how full we would be from the cauliflower so opted not to order it, even though it's their most popular dish. Will have to try it another time. We loved the elixir - it was like having a nice buzz, without having any alcohol. The dates were perfect bites of flavor explosion. The avocado cups brought me back to my childhood - I have no idea how the chef managed to recreate the flavors of an Indian dish called pani puri with these lettuce cups, but they did and man I could have ordered that dish two more times! It really made me miss my mom. My husband liked the dosa, but I think I am too much of a purist when it comes to dosa and prefer the traditional version. We ordered a mushroom dish (I cannot recall the name), but we should have probably researched the type of mushroom because it had an incredibly fishy smell and taste and I couldn't stand it. If you like that flavor, you'll like it, but it wasn't for us. We ordered the coconut sticky rice to go with this dish, but they forgot to bring the two items out together, so our rice was cold by the time the entree arrived and it didn't appeal to us as much. The waited offered to refire it, which was kind, but it would have been a waste of food and time and we didn't care for the taste of the mushrooms anyway. I am pretty sure we got dessert, but it wasn't memorable, however that cappuccino was! I will definitely be stopping in for another very soon. The service was fantastic from the moment we entered the door to being seated until we left. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and I loved how honest he was about the dishes after we told him our preferences. The vibe at abcV was much larger than I was anticipating, it felt like being in a big, fancy dining hall, but once you're at your table you didn't feel it as much. Definitely looking forward to going back to try a couple of the other dishes and getting that cappucino again :)
Good stuff here! Really creative dishes at this place.
Haven't been in a little while so I'm curious to know what they're doing for seasonal veggies right now.
All of it is wonderful! Highly recommend if you're looking

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
