Lovely Birthday lunch
We booked into Adam’s for a Saturday lunch as it was my wife’s birthday. It was excellent. We had the 7 course taster menu. Some exceptional dishes (Halibut, lamb, blood orange stood out) Staff were excellent, all in a very pleasant and atmospheric restaurant. Would definitely return. Some nice little touches from the restaurant for my wife’s birthday aswell.

Absolutely sublime food and amazing staff from start to finish the experience was perfect. The food was so balanced and so precise and it was evident so much thought had proceeded the final outcome. Everything was flawless. The servers deserve so much praise they knew all about the food and were so kind and helpful made me feel so relaxed.

Fantastic experience, we had the 7 course taster many and it was incredible. Also thought it was great value considering the quality of the restaurant

WHOW. 7 course Tasting Menu was amazing. The subtle marrying of flavours, which you may not think go together, created the best Fine Dining experience we have had in the UK. Adam is exceptional. Our experience was five star all the way with service to match the food. Thank you all for making our 25th Wedding Anniversary celebration extra special.
Be the first to ReplyVery Good, Not Exceptional
Adam's is on my list of great restaurants and I have dined here many times. I still love the place very much, but things move on and although I can agree that the meal I recently had here was very good; I dined at Ormer last week, and had an exceptional meal. You can't help compare and there was definitely a greater focus on flavour and presentation at Ormer than at Adam's. They were both five course tasting menus with optional cheese course (trolley at Ormer) and both with glasses of wine. The final bills were both about £200, yet I know Adam's wasn't the better meal. It was very good, it wasn't exceptional though, and it used to be for me, consistently. I guess you could argue, London v Birmingham but I will fight anyone on that as I know Birmingham can be equal to, if not better. London get's too many Michelin stars it does not deserve. Definitely go to Adam's, which is a Birmingham culinary high point. Unfortunately, I think it's lost something.
Be the first to ReplyA great experience!
Beautiful restaurant with impeccable service (I used to do it for a living, and they were great). 7 course menu with (fabulous) wine pairing was great. Some fabulous cooking and great ingredients made this a dinner worth coming to Birminhham for. The menu fused dished into a great journey of different tastes and styles. The only criticism were that my crab allergy meant that some items had to be replaced, and raw julienne of leek is a poor replacement. The tapioca bubbles in the bubble tea were too tough, and resembled gummy bears, rather than the burst in your mouth explosion I'd expect. Other than that, fantastic!

My second visit to Adams and it was as wonderful as I remembered. We had a voucher that was a Black Friday offer and this made it possible for us to afford the treat - more voucher opportunities please! The food was exceptional, both is taste and presentation. The attention to detail was excellent. The staff were friendly and quietly attentive. A small point - I would have preferred to have been seated in the main body of the restaurant, rather than at the end in the area that I assume can be closed off for private dining, as we weren't able to benefit from the atmosphere created by being with other people. We will certainly go again.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful from start to finish
Completely wonderful from start to finish. We stopped in here for a lunch service and thought the whole thing was faultless. Before even mentioning the food, special mention to front of house and the Sommelier who were all the perfect example of 'getting service right'. Friendly, formal but not too fussy, always attentive without being overbearing. Just superb throughout We opted for the 7 course taster with matching wines and all the dishes were sublime (i'm not going to pick favourites!). What I will say is that many of the dishes did that thing that I LOVE with fine dining, and that is, from the moment you take a mouthful you think 'that is NOT what I expected'. And I say that in a good way! Riots of flavour explosions in several of them which were just great. My wife and I are lucky enough to eat in some great fine dining places. We judge our enjoyment of good food based on how much we are smiling when eating and discussing. We both grinned through this from start to finish. Top drawer stuff.

Table for one, yes, when I have to dine alone, I choose the best, and Adams is now one of my favorites. The restaurant is close to New Street Station if you need to catch a train. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt comfortable, and the service from all the staff was First Class, friendly and professional. The food is absolutely, simply outstanding. Each course, snack, and everything you eat is a party in your mouth that you cannot help but enjoy and makes you feel happy. Of course, the food presentation is exceptional, each a piece of edible art. Whether you are on your own, or with a friend, go there, you will not be disappointed. Yes, you will pay top dollar, but the food is on a different level and worth every penny. Go ahead and treat yourself!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent meal once more
We have been many times and it never disappoints. Excellent service and amazing food once more. My allergies/intolerances were taken care of, We had the a la carte and we both enjoyed it. I particularly enjoyed the lamb but every course was lovely. Can't wait to come again

5 star experience throughout.
Excellent food, exemplary service....Michelin star personified.
Reputation deserved
Great food, great service
It dawned on me that although the food here is amazing, what gives the place its 5 star rating is the ambience and unbelievably excellent service. Very knowledgeable staff who serve the food and drink complement the high quality food. Super impressed all round!
Be the first to ReplyReally good meal
Had lunch between Christmas and New Year. Food excellent, although a little slow on some courses.
My main issue was the noise level, we struggled to hear each other and had to ask serving staff to repeat when describing dishes.
Would definitely go back but might try and pick a time/date when it wasn't full.
What an experience
Decided to try Adams for the husband's birthday.
Nice, relaxed restaurant and ambience...
We tried the lunchtime taster menu with the wine flight.
Absolutely amazing from start to finish.
Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing
....we particularly loved learning about the wines , which matched the courses perfectly
....just waiting for another reason to visit now
10 out of 10.
Wow. From start to finish, what an experience!
One of the best meals I’ve never had. The service, the food, the wine! All incredible. The staff were so attentive, particularly enjoyed learning about all the wines.
Will certainly be returning for a special occasion.
Best in town!
Wow...just PERFECT
Our second visit and we are figuring out how to come every few months for the absolute joy of the experience, is just worth the money in our opinion.
Service was outstanding - the staff are just the right level of friendly, professional, courteous, chatty.
It was never overbearing but we were tended to amazingly. You feel like royalty!
Food-wise, which is what you go there for - was OUTSTANDING. How anyone could criticise any aspect of these perfect dishes is beyond me.
The Roe Deer dish was heavenly. The smokiness of the kale, the fruitiness of the redcurrants combined with the meat was mind-blowing.
Desserts - just scrumptious, fresh, not too heavy but with a combination of tastes that feel like a party is happening in your mouth.
Truly a magnificent experience.
If you want to treat yourself, and you are into food - you will LOVE it.
I simply can't believe there are less than 5 stars for this place in some reviews but I honestly think, if I bought my Dad for example, he wouldn't like it, as he doesn't appreciate this kind of dining.
So, like everything in life, some things don't suit everyone but a meal at Adams, for many people will be an experience that is out of this world.
Thank you Adams, and all the amazing staff.
We hope to see you again very soon.
Celebration
My friends and I visited Adam’s last night for a birthday celebration.
The food was delicious from the taster menu. Very small portions but kind of expect that. Taster menus vary and whilst I enjoyed the flavours and hard work, it seemed a little pricey.
The restaurant itself to me isn’t warm and cosy. Very modern and quite open.
The staff are the best piece. They were all attentive and first class.
We drank quite a bit of wine. Our bill was £400 per couple
Fine dining at its best
Fine dining with amazing food and exemplary service - not at all stuffy, very relaxed.
A very special experience- and the little gift to take home was a lovely touch
Well with the M star
Excellent service from friendly knowledgable staff, relaxing atmosphere.
7 course tasting menu is well worth a try great quality and flavours.
Good quality with no faff or fuss.
Extraordinary
We had lunch at Adam's prior to an Ed Gamble show at the Town Hall and I think I'd go so far to say as this is the best meal I've ever eaten. Everything from top to bottom was just absolutely spectacular and the service was impeccable - friendly, attentive, speedy but never overbearing.
We kicked off with three amuse bouche, highlighted for me by an utterly delicious soft shell taco with beef tartae. There was also a beetroot macaron filled with goats cheese that my wife would gladly have scaled up to be a full starter and finished off with a mussel in a very refreshing cucumber veloute.
The starter was perhaps my most eagerly anticipated - the leek parcels with black truffle, custard and hazelnut. I generally try and avoid looking at the menu in advance in case I set my heart on something that subsequently isn't available on the day but I'd seen this dish highlighted regularly on Adam's social media and was desperately hoping to be able to try it. Happily, it was available and even more happily it not only lived up to my expectations but exceeded them. This is a truly sensational dish.
The main was Label Anglais chicken with mooli, choy sum and hen of the woods. I very rarely choose chicken at a restaurant as for some reason it always just feels a little less flashy but this is the definition of elevating something, the quality and depth of flavour was sensational and the gravy was something else, as was the stuffed chicken leg on the side. Again, right up there with my favourite main courses.
Dessert was another one I'd seen on the social media pages...a meadowsweet, grape and bee pollen concoction that was so light and refreshing and I think, quite possibly, might be the best dessert I've ever eaten. Every single flavour came through and worked in perfect harmony and I'd have happily eaten another one there and then. This was followed up a lovely post dessert choux bun with pear cream and, much to our surprise and delight, a little gift to take away at the end which I shan't give away here. I absolutely cannot recommend Adam's highly enough and we will absolutely be back again.
