Be the first to ReplyKarens Dinner with amazing Food
This is the first time visiting Switzerland, I try a Michelin star restaurant for the first time. The food was great but unfortunately the service is almost like a karens dinner, waitress(Margaret)was so ignorance. Is it because I'm an asian they might think I don't have money or something. This place luckily had a great food if not I wouldn't come even though it's a friend recommendation, better i spend on other place who can appreciate their guest.
Be the first to ReplyDamn, it was really delish 😊
Fantastic, from the mises en bouche to the desert. Cocktails are insanely good, too. Everything was as creative as it was delicious !
Be the first to ReplyDiner's Club is better
We had a good time at Diner’s Club with attentive care by Thais and decided to try a more fancy dinner for our last night in Zermatt. We went there after checking their Instagram, and read the good comments on TripAdvisor. The food has a 5-star rating and we skipped the comment about the service. Because we had no issue with service at all. And we believe that we will get at least the same experience as what we had at Diner’s Club. It’s a Michelin star after all, the food is indeed amazing, the interior is impressive, wine pairing is perfect. But the service is far from our expectations from a Michelin-star restaurant. We had a great time at Potato and CERVO. And the service here is not on the same level as them. The waitress did not give us a warm welcome, we didn’t even know her name because she didn’t impress us at all. When we were there the restaurant wasn’t so full and because we also run a restaurant in Norway, we can count that they had a proper amount of staff to take care of all of us that night. The waiters had a better interaction with their guests, they were more relaxed and happy but not our waitress. She brought the bread, it’s an interesting process as we have it fresh on the table and she would have told us more about how cool it is, but she is always rushing to the kitchen and enjoys watching the chef prepare the food instead of making sure we have everything that we need or asking how is the food. She is also very less attentive, what a disappointment for a high-profile place. This restaurant should have more waitresses like Thais, very friendly, informative, and passionate. Maybe swap the place because Thais would be perfect for after seven more than our waitress. Go to Diner’s Club for less expensive but more value overall because we understand that the chef is the same. Thumbs up to the chef.
Be the first to ReplyFine Dining Food, Fast food Service.
If you are looking for the best food, this restaurant is your place. But if you are looking for a real Michelin-star restaurant, go somewhere else! The service here is not better than fast food restaurants. The waitress is unprofessional, minimally excited, and cold which makes missing the important part of having dinner at the most well-known restaurant in town.

Detailed, Food Quality in restaurant and Unique presentation. The Wines were magnificent and the waiters very polite. Overall the best restaurant in Zermatt
Be the first to ReplySo disappointing!
I already dined 2 times at After Seven restaurant in the past and always had an amazing unique experience there. I was very excited to visit the restaurant again with my family (3p.) during our ski holidays in February. Unfortunately, the experience was very different this time. The food is still great, but the service was not at all at the level you can expect from a 1 Michelin * restaurant. The staff seemed stressed and less attentive than usual. When we arrived, a glass of Champagne was offered to us (we had to pay for it). My glass was half full only and without bubbles. I noticed we received the last of an open bottle. During my previous visits, I especially enjoyed the original experience of seeing your bread cooking on a stone on your table and watching your beef consomé getting ready in a special machine brought to your table. It did not happen this time. Our waitress told us that they couldn't cook the bread on the table as there was not enough space... When I asked for the bill (780.00 CHF), our waitress told us that she already put our jackets on a chair close to us. No one helped us with our jackets (were they in a hurry to see us go?). I will not visit this restaurant anymore. When I choose a Michelin * restaurant and I spend almost 800.00 CHF, I expect a much better experience. However, there are many good restaurants in Zermatt that we will return to next time (Madre Nostra by CERVO, Potato, l'Atelier Grandsire, etc.).

What a wonderful bar! A hidden gem. Lisa made fantastic cocktails and made sure that we had an amazing time. We'll definitely be back!

Amazing food in a very beautiful environment. We loved the creativity and friendlyness of this place. Kudos to Lucas for taking so goog care of us - much appreciated!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent place to splurge for a special occasion
It’s sometimes hard to tell whether expensive restaurants like this one will be worth the price, but it turned out excellent. Great service and food lived up to expectations. We left very happy. We eat at this caliber restaurant once or twice a year and the food compared favorably to other similar priced restaurants we’ve tried. Did the 5 course + one wine pairing and it cost a bit over $500 chf and took 2.5 hours for 2.

Sublime experience at the After Seven. You can feel every bit of details and effort that is put into an exquisite dinner experience. Service was caring, felt like home but never too much. M and her team were just great. We keep coming back to leave again, looking forward to the next time. Thank you !

An amazing experience, everything was perfect, this restaurant is more like an 2 stars Michelin restaurant!! We recommend this adresses.
Be the first to ReplyA culinary adventure!
We had a great evening. It was a culinary adventure and all dishes were really great. We had Mateo as our service guy and he was fantastic!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic experience and the meal was tasty
Great for chilling or want to experience wonderful crafted dishes comes in small portions but very tasty and complicated flavour. If you want to try michelin star just come to afterseven
Be the first to ReplyWorthy of 2 Michelin stars
After Seven was better than various 2 Michelin star restaurants we've been to. Fun, creative and incredibly tasty courses. The staff were exceptional.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing Dinner
I went there alone. Champagne and wine is really nice. Not really fancy and u don’t need it as the food is really divine. Main course is really nice too but I can find it at other Michelin place. The most I love are those appetizers, bread. They are so creative and you will find it worth your time there. Atmosphere is cozy and service is fine.

The food and staff is amazing. They are on top of everything! I love that the cooks are also serving and explaining, what they have prepared for you. The local wines are perfectly matched to the food! Absolutly worth it.
Be the first to ReplyBest meal in Zermatt
Outstanding Christmas Eve meal. Four course surprise menu was a real treat. So many great dishes. Service was excellent. Entire evening was memorable and fun. Our best meal in Zermatt. Definitely worth a visit.
Be the first to ReplyComplete scam
This was a total rip off. I have never felt so cheated in all my years of going out. Don’t fall for this place, it’s a total let down. We called and booked a table at Michelin acclaimed After Seven. And we got a confirmation that we had a table booked at After Seven. We showed up - nothing. When we approached the guy there, we were dismissed in the most arrogant way and sent downstairs to a completely different restaurant. After Seven was apparently closed for the season. But we had just spoken with them on the phone the day before and gotten confirmation ?! We went back upstairs to the guy, expressed our confusion, only to get dismissed once more. The worst customer experience ever. As it was Friday night in a busy holiday town, and we had a hungry child with us, we decided to stay in this ‘sister’ restaurant we had been booked at without knowing. The people were eager to stress that it was the same chef and same staff. Massive mistake to stay. Totally overpriced food - meaning five times more expensive for food we could have cooked better ourselves at home. If this really was the same Michelin chef working at After Seven, he should be embarrassed. The two waiters were aware of the situation and keen to repeat to us that they also worked for After Seven. But how that information possibly could help us, is a mystery. And although apologetic, they did nothing to compensate for the obvious scam. It wouldn’t have hurt them to offer something on the house for example. A totally overpriced dinner and a huge disappointment. Don’t ever go there. Full stop.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food and unique experience
We went here for my birthday.
Excellent food and a somewhat unique experience with bread baked at the table and a few other nice touches to make the experience special. Nice wine pairing also.
Excellent evening, but overpriced apero
Very good and tasty food, excellent service.
Only negative point is the « Champagne » they propose you for 38.- CHF the glass ……. and it’s not even champagne (it’s a sparkling walliser wine). It’s a shame to end this very good meal on a negative note by discovering the price of this overpriced so-called « champagne » on the bill.
Best dinner in Zermatt
An excellent restaurant. Great service , original and tasty food with nice vibe. Well worth the visit. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyModern until the very last detail
The Restaurant with one Michelin star and 17 points in Gault Millau, designed and concepted in an old central cinema in Zermatt, offers various dishes. The Items presented are the basics of the following menu you decide, either a 4, 5 or 7 course menus, you mention if there are special attention to allergies or products you do not like. From there on, no matter how many courses you choose, the show and the service, dishes, texture and presentation, the pairing of wines. Transports you to a higher level of experience. The Ideas and concept and mixture of products and texture of each dish is unique. Excellent, friendly and well experienced service, that are aware of each dish and is able to describe what is served, Bravo!!
Be the first to ReplyStunning food. Certainly worthy of 2 Michelin stars in my view
I dined here with my family of 5 to celebrate my daughters 16th Birthday.
We have come annually to Zermatt for over 20 yrs but this is the first time we have eaten at “After Seven”
The restaurant is located in the backstage hotel and the decor is the wonderful modern eclectic blend which has Heinz Julien so famous.
The menu was a choice of tasting menus of either 4 course (takes 2 hrs), 5 course (takes 3hrs) or 7 courses (takes 4hrs).
Each course consists of both a starter and the main dish. So a 5 course menu is actually 10 etc. Plus there are additional 3 lots of canapés before the menu starts.
One is also presented with a list of about 20 potential ingredients so that you can let the waitress know if there is anything on the list you do not particularly like.
Otherwise the tasting menu comes a surprise.
And what a surprise!!!
The food here was fabulous!
Way beyond 1 Michelin star which they currently have. They did have 2 Michelin stars but I believe recently lost 1 when inspected while changing the team. This was a travesty in my view.
We opted for the 5 course menu (10 courses).
Every single course was good. Several courses were amazing. My children were stunned.
I had to inform my children that that 1 Michelin star is not usually this impressive!
I have been fortunate enough to eat at several of the worlds top restaurants (eleven Madison New York, Louis XV Monaco, Fat Duck UK) and the dinner here was nearly as impressive.
I advise you to dine here while you can still get a reservation. I’m sure their return to 2 Michelin stars (and the ensuing difficulty getting a table) will not be long.
No 1 in Zermatt and one of the best in the World. Really.
That’s an incredible combination of excellent service and creative gastronomy. I can compare After Seven with my favourite 3-starred Michelin restaurant Zen located in Sweden and Singapore. Everything there is so delicious and unique. And Hans, the owner and charming gentleman, will certainly inquire about your impression in person.
