Molto delizioso!!! This little place is located on the south bank of the Navigli Canal. New Executive Chef Ivan Minali is serving up incredibly unique dishes that will surely have your palate wanting more. The ambience of the restaurant was amorous. We also found the staff to be polite, efficient and very observant without being intrusive. The starters were all excellent, but the stand out dishes for me was the gold foiled, soft-centered egg with caviar and truffle sitting on a pistachio bed. Second favorite was the artichoke with foie gras and roasted egg yolk. The taste was delightful and astonishing! For dessert, I would recommend the "Snow White" Apple with pasta frolla ice-cream. It's made with an apple-shaped crispy candy shell with apple mousse inside. Reservations for this Michelin star restaurant can be hard to come by, but you may get lucky like we did. During the hot summer nights, take a seat outdoor and enjoy the Milanese movida while having dinner.Of all the offerings in the canal district, this sits at the top of the heap for creativity and fine dining. Every dish was crafted with fresh ingredients, presented with high style and flair you would expect only in Milan.
Be the first to ReplyGreat location on the canal.
Nice ambiance inside (although loud once it fills up with diners). Food disappointing. If you are expected great Italian this probably isn't the place. Four of us had the 5 course fixed menu. Unfortunately none of the courses stood out as very memorable and two of them were well below average: dessert seemed store-bought and the red peppers & anchovies were terrible-the anchovies were obviously not fresh (not even close). Overall we were disappointed.

I came with a big group and everyone's meals were fantastic -- every dish was incredible. They have bone marrow topped with uni, which is basically my dream dish.

This place is terribly bad and they shouldn' t even earn the michellin star. How can you serve me the food with hair !! And you just took it away pretending nothing is happen. I don't take beef and i told you already but you still serve beef appetiser to me and telling me. " You don't eat that.. it's beef, i won't take it away but just let you know. It is beef. " i couldnt believe that this can be called a restaurant with this kind of service. The food is awful and service is disaster. Good luck for whoever going to this place. I rather keep my money to eat cup noodle. It's tastes way much better than food from here.
Be the first to ReplyA lovely restaurant by the canal.
Staff is very knowledgeable about the menu they are serving, and took time to find the right wine for me. My requests for a minor adjustment were made, thank you.Not only was the meal delicious, it was also beautifully presented. The appetizers were wonderful, a stuffed olive was just too yummy!I had the sea bass, just had them skip the fish tartar. The bread served was equally delicious. All in, this was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend.

Unique fun flavors beautifully presented! A memorable dining experience for our family in Milan!
Be the first to ReplyHad the Madness degustation menu.
Unfortunately the predominantly raw menu did not go down well with us. Many of the dishes were also quite salty. And the food was quite poorly presented. Not quite sure how the one star got there.
Be the first to ReplyThis was hands down the best meal we had in Italy.
Expect modern reinterpretations of Northern Italian fair. I went with three companions and we all tried tasting menus with half the table doing the 'Our Tradition' and the other half of the table doing 'Taste and Thought.' Our meal was as delicious as it was beautiful. I also couldn't believe how much food it was. Between the amuse bouches, the generous bread basket, and the tasting menu itself I found myself (sadly) leaving a bit on my plate at each course. I was grateful though that it was enough for my boyfriend and I to each try bites of the other's tasting menu. Of everything I ate the amuse bouche, Gazpacho and red prawns from Mazara del Vallo (which in no way does the beautiful dish justice), and Pigeon, lentil sprouts, cream mustard were my favorite. I also really, really enjoyed the Ravioli stuffed with marrow on slice of scallops, coffee sauce and pink pepper extract from my boyfriend's tasting menu as well. With that dish the burst of liquid when you bit into each ravioli was a savory bomb of deliciousness.I also thought the service was very good. The waiter did a great job of helping us navigate the menu and wine selections and was also kind enough to bring me bug spray without my even asking (guess my scratching is not as discrete as I thought.)Ambiance wise the restaurant is very interesting. Unlike a lot of modern restaurants in America where the look of the restaurant is as cutting edge and orchestrated as the food itself, here there was an interesting contrast of the traditional, non-descript look of the interior and the art of the food. It worked beautifully though. Sitting outside we also enjoyed looking in at the large kitchen window to see dishes being made. We sat along the canal outside which minus the mosquitos (to be fair they were burning the anti-mosquito coils to try to keep the bugs down, but to no avail) made for great people watching both on the sidewalks and the water. The look of the neighborhood is a bit grungy, but in a way that those who have eaten out in up and coming, gentrifying neighborhoods in the US can understand.I'd definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys creative, modern takes on food. I thought the flavors, ambiance, and service came together beautifully and loved that the art enhanced the food without overworking it.

Inbetween all of the food pushed under our noses during aperitivo we were also keen to try some cutting edge Milan cuisine! Having review a number of blogs and websites a name that came up repeatedly was Al Pont de Ferr.Located along a canal this quaint spot is was unassuming from the outside - with the exception of the window that looks on into the industrious kitchen.Having spent the morning exploring the Pinotecca de Brera we arrived slightly later than intended just after 2pm, as such sadly we weren't able to have the full tasting menu. No matter. For the lunchtime diner they also have a menu offering 2 plates for €20, so we decided to order 4 and share. My chum is gluten free something which posed a challenge at times in Milan, not here - not only did the waiter ask if we had intolerances prior to ordering he then appeared with a GF bread basket for her (cue a very excited girl when she got to have a breadstick for the first time in 15 or so years)To our order: - Mozzarella with candied fig and tomatoes - Fillet of rabbit - Tasting of asparagus with fondue and hens egg yolk - Filet of cod with risotto!Words don't really do this justice. Just look at the pictured and enjoy - it was a really incredible meal. The wow-factor didn't stop there. Having seen other diners enjoy deserts best described as art we were ready to the same. But... oh oh....the raspberry paradise key element is gluten based....sad face! she offered a tasting of the sorbets and she decided to still have the matched wine with it.What they came to us was a surprise. Almost the same dish presented beautifully with extra od the gluten free elements...including an amazing raspberry meringue, a sugar glass raspberry with liquid centre and the stunning sorbet! WOW!!!The desert mine matched was as good as a match as I have ever had, the balance was spot on. The lovely manageress offered us an additional glass on the house of another desert wine! Again it was just perfect! For our last meal in Milan we couldn't have asked for anything more! This was a first class dining experience from start to finish!!
