Spring Trip in Napa
Our stay at Auberge du Soleil was exceptional in all respects. Our suite was beautifully appointed and well stocked. Housekeeping addressed every detail. Both breakfast and dinner at The Restaurant were amazing with interesting selections daily.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful property and amazing staff. The restaurant was a great experience. The rooms lookout to the Napa valley.
I had a really unique experience staying at this beautiful property. The rooms are beautiful and spacious it has balconies that look out the Napa valley. The restaurant was a unique experience and the food and drinks were very delicious. Everything felt so personalized.

A weekend getaway for us. Quiet, serene, peaceful, great food and wonderfully appointed room. We loved walking the grounds and relaxing by the fireplace in the room. The meals at the Restaurant were first class and delicious!

This was my fourth stay. Auberge du Soleil is extravagantly expensive so it was gratifying to learn, yet again, that the venue delivers in all respects. The posh, carefully considered accommodations are comfortable in the extreme with many grace notes including lavish in-room treats and beverages. Bathrooms are divine. The hillside setting offers gorgeous views across Napa Valley, and the sculpture garden walk is a welcome, unexpected diversion. The restaurant is outstanding in cuisine and gracious in setting and service. Dinner here is a delight worthy of indulgence. Everyone here is kindly, and professional, anticipating every need or care yet with a degree of grace that feels genuine. Special call out to the valets who are beyond gracious. I marvel when this degree of service is attained. It is a specific pleasure to experience this level of care, and, so also to extoll the virtue of staff here.

Looking for a peaceful retreat..this is it. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Views and surroundings were fabulous with all the fall colors. Dinner was amazing. Enjoyed walking the trails on the property with all of the outdoor artwork. We had only one night to get away but we felt like we had been away longer. A wonderfully rejuvenating stay.
Be the first to ReplyRoom need a refresh but great food, service and grounds.
The hotel grounds are fantastic but the rooms are pretty dated and frankly smell old. Food is amazing as is guest services but this is my second time this year where I had the same experience. Four Seasons is newer and may be the way to go here absent a much needed refresh.

First class hotel with a First class price. This grounds are nothing short of stunning. The design, where the buildings are stepped up a hillside, affords breathtaking views of the valley. The landscaping and sculptures along the path call out to your soul and invite you to stroll. The staff are truly outstanding. We asked for a firmer pillow and two arrived before we returned to our room. The housekeeping is amazing. We inquired about an upgrade from our Valley view King room and were told nothing was available. I was a little disappointed as we were staying for 4 nights, The bed design had us bumping our shins getting in and out, as the bedframe protrudes a few inches beyond the mattress. The mattress itself, was clearly in need of replacement(Biarritz 3), as it bowed down at the side where a succession of past guests sat on the bed while getting in and out. I would have not expected to note that the bed was uncomfortable for a room at this price. Overall - Small negatives and huge positives. Stay here if your budget allows such luxury.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding!
One of my most relaxing trips. The facilities and grounds are beautiful. Our room was quite large with a lovely patio overlooking the most gorgeous views. It was so peaceful. I loved the grounds with the gardens and unique statues. I took many walks on the scenic trails. We had a few minor hiccups with our room but the staff arrived immediately to fix. The room itself was nicely done with a large bathroom with tub. Our small fridge was fully stocked with goodies which we enjoyed. We did use the complimentary Mercedes which was so convenient. Locally, the wineries and towns are close. The Auberge restaurant and service was outstanding. The gym was a little small but doable. Overall, a fabulous experience. I look forward to returning.

My wife and I recently spent a 3 day weekend here for our 10th Anniversary and it was nothing short of amazing! From the minute we landed at SFO till the minute we returned to the airport was truly bliss. An amazing property with even better service. Both restaurants are phenomenal and our experience at the spa was second to none. Special shout outs to Steve at the concierge desk for helping to organize our entire visit and Sam our driver for the weekend! we can't wait to go back!
Be the first to ReplyA slice of heaven in Napa Valley!
Auberge du Soleil has the wonderful qualities of a luxury European hotel - but overlooking Napa Valley! The Restaurant (the hotel's fine dining experience), accommodations and hotel staff contribute to a memorable stay. Truly a gem!
Be the first to ReplyBest in Napa
If you are looking to stay in Napa, Auberge is the best place in the valley. From Sharon in reservations to Rachel at the Spa and everyone else, the service is flawless. Food is excellent. Grounds are amazing. We saw deer. Simply magical.

Celebrated my wife’s birthday at Auberge du Soleil and we could not have picked a better hotel. Sharon reached out prior to our arrival for any requests. Room was awesome with a fabulous view. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.

Everything was perfect - from the friendly reservation agent and concierge who helped plan our whole trip, to the helpful valets and cart drivers, the amazing massages, the gorgeous dining experiences, and the beautiful room and property. Comfort and beauty in every experience we had.
Be the first to ReplyAuberge du Soleil perfect getaway
The property location is serene, the staff superb and the rooms are perfectly appointed with luxurious bedding and bath amenities. It is a true gem overlooking Napa Valley with beautiful balconies to enjoy the view.
Be the first to ReplyVery nice, with no major shortcomings
We've tried quite a few resorts in the Napa Valley region, and Auberge du Soleil might just be our favorite property of the bunch. The only caveat is the fact that they charge eye-popping rates to stay there. We booked a Deluxe Valley View Suite, which measures a generous 116m² in living space, and comes with a balcony with a panoramic view of the valley as well as a nice, large, hot tub. The decor is muted and earthly, which gives it a cozy and welcoming ambiance and blends in nicely to the surrounding landscape. The Suite also had a charming fireplace in the living room, two separate toilets (a major plus for Mrs. KI-NRT) as well as a nice and deep hot tub in the main bathroom. No qualms at all with the Suite. The grounds are equally picturesque. Aside from the view (which is particularly gorgeous from the main dining area), the fairly large grounds are littered with Olive trees, and there's a nice little walking trail that allows guests to explore the property grounds. It's a nice way to pass the time in the late afternoon or early mornings. Service - especially for an American property - was attentive, professional and down-to-earth without being too casual and chatty; ABS struck a good balance while still maintaining aspects that make American hospitality unique from other cultures. We had dinner at their signature restaurant, but were not blown away. While we enjoyed the very good service and romantic ambiance, the food was good but not particularly memorable. The grilled Octopus, Sauteed Petrale Sole and Nantucket Bay Scallops are just okay. Perhaps if we focused more on meat-based dishes things would have been different. Unfortunately, due to some distribution issues Foie Gras was not available the evening we were there. I do have to knock the score down a notch due to the rates here. While we are generally not price sensitive when it comes to accommodations, it must be said that rates are astronomical, and even compared to rival resorts in the area, ABS does command a price premium. It's not their fault - it's simply a matter of supply and demand - but if you're somewhat price conscious and the rate disparity persists you might want to consider some alternatives in the area.
Be the first to ReplyAuberge Du Soleil is a dreamy resort
ADS is fantastic. From the incredible art you find sprawled around the property to the views from the mountain side, this resort is a must see! With a 24 hour pool and hot tub, this adults only resort has everything a guest is looking for. The spa pools ritual is a must-do. The pools overlook one of the best views of the valley and the staff is amazing.
Be the first to ReplyStyle & substance
Auberge du Soleil remains one of my favorite hotels anywhere. So much so that I am actually reviewing it again after our latest stay because there is still more praise to share. Since I went into more descriptive detail in my original review from April 2021 and because Napa and Sonoma are replete with excellent resorts, I am going to focus on what makes Auberge unique (and in my opinion, the best). First, it has a low guest count with all of the facilities and amenities of a much larger resort. Auberge has an amazing spa with cold plunge, warm springs, hot tub and steam rooms, a large saltwater pool and hot tub, an indoor-outdoor gym, a tennis court, walking trails, an outdoor sculpture garden as well as two restaurants and a bar. It is also an adults-only resort with only 50 rooms, a spa that is only open to on-property guests and dining that is closed to the public for breakfast. Basically, your stay will be a peaceful one and can be as private as you would like. You will never struggle to get a spa appointment (with advance notice) nor fight for a seat at the pool or wait for a table at breakfast. On this visit, for example, I only bumped into one other person at the gym across three visits and we were often the only guests using the spa pools and steam rooms. Second, the rooms all have private patios and amazing views are the default (unless you want to opt for a private garden-style room). Most properties in Napa are built on valley floor and may have manicured gardens or vineyard views, but do not have the same stunning depth-of-field or sense of place that Auberge offers. Third, every room is excellent. Even the entry-level rooms have a sculptural soaking tub, shower with a skylight, private patio, fireplace, California King Bed, an included minibar with locally-sourced snacks, lots of natural light and generous dimensions. You can always upgrade to a suite or a Maison for more space, but you could easily spend your entire stay in any room because they are all so comfortable, stylish and well-designed. Four, there is deep attention to detail throughout the experience. Everywhere you go, you can feel the level of thought that has gone into every aspect of the experience. Rooms have every bath amenity you could want already stocked as well as robes, slippers and yoga mats. You can also request art supplies, books and games to enhance your experience. Whether it is simple things like the spa having multiple infused waters, tea, snacks and sunscreen available, the tennis court having balls and racquets to use and the gym offering Vitamin Waters and fruit along with your standard water options — the team at Auberge has reduced the level of planning needed by the guest to enjoy anything. The grounds are the same way. They have a phenomenal landscaping team and the artwork is constantly evolving with the seasons. Five, the food is delicious and fits all palates. Auberge is the only hotel resort in Napa with a Michelin-starred restaurant (until Meadowood’s reopens) and their casual food options, bar and wine cellar are best-in-class as well. Finally, and most importantly, the service at Auberge is fantastic and has actually never been better given the challenges that COVID presented over the past few years. Guest Services managed every request with ease during our stay and took care of all of the tiny details around a surprise for someone in our group. Simple things like making us a key card when we arrived early so we could enjoy the property and then having multiple valets drive our car down the hill to meet us where we were relaxing in order to divide up the luggage in the trunk across our two rooms. The dinner server offered to have the kitchen package up dessert for our room since we were full after so many courses. Our breakfast server remembered my father-in-law’s juice preference before even he did on our second morning. An off-hand comment at the spa about the hot tub temperature, resulted in maintenance showing up 15 minutes later to confirm our desired temperature setting. There is no shortage of these anecdotes, and while service can be an amorphous concept to evaluate, it is clear that Auberge is firing on all cylinders. Ok, so what was intended to be a shorter review ended up being just as lengthy as my original one…but that is the challenge of capturing an experience like staying at Auberge du Soleil. You should book your stay soon and you will see what I mean!

The quintessential 5 star Napa hotel. The rooms are huge, comfortable and have a massive tub that I enjoyed nightly. Service is absolutely impeccable from room service, to the restaurant to the spa, everyone was warm, polished and beyond helpful. The concierge can set up all of your vineyard visits and restaurant reservations to take the stress out of planning your trip. The pool is stunning and a great respite after a morning of Napa hikes. It’s expensive but everything in Napa is and here you absolutely get what you pay for.
Be the first to ReplyIntimate, friendly service in a fabulous location
Top notch service, very comfortable room and bed and friendly staff who offered helpful advice. Restaurant and menu options were varied but quality remained high, as evidenced by many diners who were not staying at the hotel but came for the experience. Even provided a hotel car to enable guests to sample the delights of Napa Valley.

From start to finish, an incredible resort with every wish fulfilled. From the room (Lovely) to the restaurant (outstanding), attentive staff, perfect pool and hot tubs - everything was first rate. We didn't want to leave.

My husband and I had 4 amazing nights at Auberge during our California road trip. We arrived way before check in time but our room was ready and we had been upgraded one room category to a deluxe Valley View Suite. The staff were what made the hotel. Particular call out to Sharon the front office manager who was just outstanding but everyone we connected with was a credit to the hotel. The gym is also great - we particularly liked the outdoor area. We will be back

Beautiful on every level. Wonderful people doing work they seem proud to do. Auberge du Soleil has been the model for how it should be done for a long time and it shows. Long may she wave! Vive la différence! Merci!
Be the first to ReplyBest spot in napa
This place is the spot. Here r the reasons why: 1- it’s not in the downtown. It’s secluded in the forest. The pool overlooks the valley. U feel like ur in Florence or the south of France. It’s across from the Quintessa winery and very close to st Helena and yountville. 2- the service is excellent. The breakfast , which was included for us, was amazing. Great options. We had an issue w the room. The front desk asked how things were as we were checking out. When we mentioned an issue which was not completely resolved-the front desk credited us money wo us even needing to ask for anything. Which is how a top shelf location should handle these things. Was very impressed. 3- pool is excellent. Has hot tub. 4- they have Mercedes’ cars for guests to use. We had rented a car but still nice to know. 5- gym was great. Had cables, free weights, barbell, treadmills,… everything u would want. 6- they have a sculpture garden which is also a jogging/hiking trail. 7- shower and tub. Loved it here!!
Be the first to ReplyA Birthday of a Lifetime
I decided that I wanted to do something special for my 50th birthday so my wife and I spent the weekend at Auberge du Soleil. This South of France inspired resort has excellent accommodations, wonderful spa services, delicious dining and a gorgeous pool with views of Napa valley that are unsurpassed. The service here is friendly, professional, and impeccable. Carol, the sales manager, made sure that we were pleased with our accommodations and experience and Monica the concierge went above and beyond curating our wish list of activities so we could fit them all in (as part of their service they will make your reservations and schedule your trip). If you want to treat yourself and the ones you love - this is the place to do it.

We wish we could have enjoyed more of the resort but savored every moment of our short stay at the Auberge de Soleil. We've never had a better nights sleep at a hotel! Every detail is accounted for and makes the stay worth it!
