Azul Historico attracts hordes of hungry guests day after day for unknown reasons. It's utterly baffling because the food is nearly inedible, the prices are outrageously high, and in January, you freeze under the open sky. We've had several meals in Mexico City, and this was by far the worst and most expensive. Additionally, the timing was terrible, and the servers were rude. - Guacamole - the worst ever; tasteless and lacking acidity. - Ceviche - the worst ever; large flavorless fish pieces. - Enchiladas - the worst ever; swimming in an inedible sauce. About the timing: 10 minutes before the starters were served, a waiter came and threw the napkin that was on my plate into my lap. As if I don't know when it's time to remove the napkin. Later - we were only halfway through the starters when the main courses were placed on the table, and they were lukewarm by the time we got to them. However, as mentioned, they were inedible. We ended up leaving half of all the expensive food, and in a surprisingly short time, the table was cleared. Were we interested in desserts? No thanks - just the bill, please. In addition to these dishes, we each ordered 1 glass of house white wine (excellent), and the bill for all this misery crept up to just under 1,800 pesos. A scandal. We asked to pay by card. The waiter entered the amount on the machine and now asked how much he could add for a tip. We exclaimed in unison: No tip! The waiter raised an eyebrow in shock and almost screamed in horror: NO TIP?? It was the highlight of the evening. Don't be fooled by the charming ambiance. Azul Historico is a top-notch tourist trap. And the prices should be reported to the police.
