Come with me to Barbakoa by Finka located in Doral.
We went to Downtown Doral without a specific plan and after passing by a few restaurants we decided to sit down at Barbakoa to have drinks and apps. To drink I had "El Caballero de Paris" and my friend had vodka with pineapple juice. What sold me on " El Caballero de Paris" is that is made with Brugal 1888 a Dominican rum, the drink was a lot like an Old Fashioned which I enjoyed. I also tried my friend's drink, it was really good and the pineapple juice was fresh. For apps from the moment we decided on Barbakoa, I knew I wanted their Mac n' Cheese, I had it a while back and it left a lasting impression. The Mac n' Cheese is topped with Short Rib and Bacon, which adds to the already cheesy deliciousness. My friend decided on the Brisket Burnt Ends. We both enjoyed the Mac n' Cheese. Overall, Barbakoa was awesome. The service was excellent, and Juan and Christian were very attentive.

A very innovative restaurant, kind of hidden in the back of the yard complex. The greeter was a little out of it, sat us down without the menus to QR code for the menu and it took a while for the server to show up, even though the outside patio was empty, besides our table of 6. From there things got much better. The waiter was friendly, attentive and informative. The food was amazing. Burnt ends, short ribs, cease salad, cucumber salad and salmon were all delicious, although the portions could have been a little bigger. All in all an excellent lunch experience!
Be the first to ReplyI loved the experience.
Had a great time there! Easy parking close by, located in downtown doral which is adorable at night full of lights and safe to walk around after dinner. I tried the lychee drink and it was amazing. The sweet potato truffle fries were great but the lamb chops with cilantro mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious! Worth the visit. The service is also great! They don't accept cash....
Be the first to ReplyI am a Finka/Barbakoa/Islas STAN.
You can always anticipate the best cuban asain flare when eating here. They really know how to incorporate these flavors into their dishes. My favorite of this meal has to be the Loaded Spanish Boniato Fries. The layers on this dish along with the crisp vaca frita??? Forget it. SOLD. The Pepperoni pie was good! You get a taste of honey in every bite. Really compliments the saltiness you get from the meat and cheese. The one that surprised me was the Korean BBQ grilled octopus. It was nice and smokey but it didnt pair with what we had already ordered- my boyfriend and I just wanted to try something new. While it was nice, we probably wouldn't order this again and opt in for a new dish! We came on a weeknight so service was fairly quick with plenty of seating. We love the decor and intimate feel of this place. We will be back!

. everything just tasted so great.. def one of the biggest standouts for me was that I've had similar offerings (some of them) at other restaurants.. here they do it so much better! From the burnt ends to the corn ribs, to the octopus, and even the shishito pepper.. Their version is next level!! Place looks great. Comfortable and upscale feel. And the staff is just amazing. Literally, everyone we interacted with. Great for friends, on a date, or even dining alone. It was awesome and I'll b back!
Be the first to ReplyThe place is super cute, she has all of her places on point.
The food delicious, as always, and the services great. Finka has lost the touch on service but since this one is newer, it still has it. Please don't lose it! I recommend Barbakoa!

After a very fun cruise (July 2023), we settled into our hotel room and took an Uber to Barbakoa by Finka. When you walk in, it's like a modern jungle theme with fresh fruit visible and in heavy use at the bar. We ordered brisket burnt ends for our appetizer and we ate it all! Since we were in Miami, I'd been experimenting with asking the bartender to concoct a cocktail based on what base liquor I desired. Our bartender overdelivered on this "dealer's choice" ask. It was soo good, I ordered 4 of them back to back. My friend had a Berry Superstitious and Reyka that was so pretty. She also ordered a Caesar Salad that had grilled lemon with it and we shared a Pepperoni Pie to satisfy our pizza cravings. It was seriously the best thick crust pizza I've ever had in my entire life! Whenever I'm back in Miami, I plan to return there for EVERYTHING!

Must try the oxtail fried rice. The ambiance is great too. The restaurant is beautifully decorated & clean.

Dominique was an attentive, sweet and fantastic server who recommended great food and gave us so much care. The food was wonderful, the drinks were incredible and the cleanliness, vibe of the restaurant was beautiful. Would definitely come again.

Food was good and service was good as well! The only thing that wasn't good was the mac and cheese was cold and just ehhh.

Wow another great spot for Finka Great service by Natalie all her recommendations on point. Great ambience, little loud but hey when you are having a great time we all tend to get loud and now for the food great sharing those Boniato fries are fire you must get trust me and the burnt ends I had to control the urge of just drinking the juice from the dish and finished with the oxtail fried rice is a show stopper could eat that everyday keep up the good work

First time coming to Doral yard, the food here was very good and the service was great! To drink I ordered the amaretto sour which was the best one I ever had, it is a bit on the sweet side. For appetizer we had the Mac and cheese loaded with bacon and short rib which I highly recommend to try, Definitely is a shareable plate. And for the entree we had lamb chops grilled with cilantro mashed potatoes it was so delicious! My only complain is that it came only with 4 lamb chops and I've seen other photos and it had 6 lamb chops. My friend ordered a kimchee fried rice that was amazing and I also recommend. I did like the ambiance and there was great music in the background, it does get packed so the parking can be a little rough.

Looking for a something different to eat, my wife and I stumbled upon Barbakoa at the Doral Yard. Thankfully, with this heat, they offer indoor seating as well as outdoor. We were met by our server Geno, who welcomed us and explained the menu and drinks to us. My wife ordered the Ginger wellness shot and I had a glass of wine. Kind of a shame because they do have a beautiful bar and the drinks the bartender was preparing looked fabulous! We looked thru the menu and had a hard time deciding what type of meal we would have. We decided to do it tapas-style. We finally ordered the Burnt Ends and Grilled Octopus. Our food arrived within ten minutes and the presentation was lovely. The burnt ends were probably the best I've ever had. Generous chunks resting atop a mustard sauce covered with pickled onions. My wife looked at me and said that we needed to order this again right now! The grilled octopus with potatoes was prepared to perfection. We were full with just the apps! So, to recap, three appetizers and two drinks in a great ambiance came out to under $70. Definitely a place to return to especially with friends!
Be the first to ReplyOverall i didn't like it.
Staff is super friendly and accommodating. They pay tor the first two hours of parking which should be mentioned- but the food ugh, the over abundance of spices, liquid seasoning like mojo and mayo and soy sauce plus salt is an overkill. Way too spicy not in a hot sense- they try too hard to be original and the combo taste just doesn't go.Example: i had the garden pizza. Without reading the menu, I figured it was like a veggie pizza., my bad. It turns out it did have marinated veggies - ewww plus chopped fried sweet plantains on top - double ewww.Then, i tasted la vaca frita- sooooooo salty it was literally inedible- luckily, the group of old ladies refused to return the 3 vaca fritas for fear of retaliation from the kitchen- terrible, i know. But.... We all know it happens. After reading many reviews on here I noticed many many complaints regarding the salty Vaca Frita- you'd figure someone in the establishment should take note of these reviews. Will not return.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and delicious food.
The ambience is very nice at any time of the day. I always recommended to everyone, they definitely gained a customer for life.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful interior, food presentation, and very sociable
Beautiful interior, food presentation, and very sociable service, Barbakoa is a modern and youthful eating experience. However, all the exterior charm falls a little flat when it comes to the food.We got carpaccio, corn ribs, mac, korean bbq octopus, and a whole fried fish. They all looked amazing, but there were complaints about each one.The carpaccio was completely overwhelmed by its sauce, it was incredibly sour and hard to eat.The mac was super basic, nothing special for the premium price tag. The octopus was way too charred, and there was a mouthful of burnt flavor every bite. The fish presentation was incredible, but ended up just being like eating fish n chips. I really enjoyed the corn ribs though, creative presentation with great flavor.I really want to like Barbakoa, they do everything great except the actual flavors of the food.

After hearing a few friends give raving reviews I decided to drop in and was not disappointed. I got a few apps and drinks to share and was blown away. I could eat the loaded boniato fries and burnt ends every day with no problem. The corn ribs were also in top 3, very cool concept but also super flavourful. Not only was the food good, service was amazing as well. 10/10 across the board!

Barbacoa is a comfortable place to eat with family , friends or on a date. It has many selections of delicious dishes and one of my favorites is Vaca Frita. I have never been in a restaurant where people are happy to help with a smile on their faces. Definitely a place to visit again for a Vaca Frita and a bread pudding desert!
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Latin-Asian fusion dishes.
Enjoyed the Brisket Burnt ends as a starter. My wife enjoyed the Lamb Chops and I had the Oxtail Fried Rice...WoW! The Fried Rice had plenty of meat and wonderful sweet and spicy flavors. A flavor explosion!!!Valentina did a wonderful job as our server. Allowed us to relax at first and was super attentive!A can't miss place to dine and enjoy in Doral!

Funny enough my dad discovered this restaurant first and raved about it so when my friends wanted to get together for lunch I suggested Barbakoa. Parking was easy there's a garage right behind the restaurant or street parking is available too. I had originally requested patio seating on my reservation but it was so hot I changed my mind and they were super accommodating. I really enjoyed everything we ordered but my favorite was the mac & cheese.
Be the first to ReplyTaste just isn't there, presentation is lacking.
octopus tasted burnt, had to return oysters due to a pungent smell coming out of a couple of them. Then they said there was nothing wrong. As far as food goes, highly anticlimactic . Everything else, amazing. Waiters were friendly, knowledgeable and recommended amazing drinks. Vibes are amazing as well and depict a Miami we all know and love. Get it together with the food though... only reason I left a 2 and not a four was because at a restaurant.. you come for the food, other wise this would have been a 4

We stopped by the restaurant without a previous reservation They accommodated and sat us right away. Everything we ordered was amazing. Coming back soon
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant is very well situated in The Doral Yard.
It's very simple and looks similar to Finka. It's a bit loud and very hot. It's small but it's nice. The starters were out of this world, we had the brisket burnt ends which were excellent, the tuna tataki it's beyond yummy warning if you don't like spicy don't try this. And of course the croquetas. Main dish, A4 Wagyu kimchee fried rice, the Smoke Brisket with the Mac and cheese. I have to say I loved the brisket it's so delicious and the meat was super tender. We did try some of the signature drinks, Tropic like it's hot and it's about damn time, I'm going to be honest I wasn't impressed. They aren't my type of drinks. Over all I really liked it I just wish they would have had ac.
Be the first to ReplyI finally made ir to Barbakoa and the wait was worth it.
Food is very original and tasty. We came on a Sunday noon and surprisingly it was not full which it was perfect. We tried the Elote Corn Ribs (the best) the Korean Grilled BBQ Octopus (octopus was great, the Patas Bravas regular) and the Korean BBQ Braised Shortrib Tiffin (Shortrib great and chaufa ok)
