Barton G. The Restaurant - Miami Beach Reviews from The Last Year
Disappointing....
We booked a table for 4 as a surprise for our friends birthday.. We were in this restaurant last year and thought it was going to be fantastic but unfortunately it was very disappointing.. When we ordered our wine, we were waiting a long time and it looked like our waiter forgot about us.. when mains came, they were cold and although tasty, it wasn't best eating cold dinner.. And then our waiter cleared only half of our table and we sat with other half of dirty dishes on our table for another 20min until I prompted another waiter to kindly clear it. Over all the experience was very disappointing, as we experienced it before so the feeling was very flat.. Worst of all that the restaurant wasn't half busy so there was no excuse not to provide exceptional service and pay attention to details, especially that it was our best friends birthday and we flew all the way from London for 2 days to make it special for her.. Sad to say, but we will be very reluctant to come back and revisit this place..
We went on Valentines Day.
The ambiance is really nice, we sat outside. The table was a bit small especially considering how large the displays are for each item. The waiter was attentive and helpful in regards to selecting items. Of course this place is expensive, you know it when you look it up. However, the taste of the food does not align with the pricing. The cocktails were good but again not so out of this world that they warrant a $40 price tag. It's a one and done type of experience which is sad to me because I'd love to go here with friends who come in from out of town but the food just doesn't taste good enough to want to return. Add some flavor and I'd be back in no time!

I attended Barton G for me and my boyfriend's anniversary a few nights ago. We had a 7 PM reservation and everything was smooth. Valet is $25 but I recommend doing rideshare! Tucked into more of the residential Bayside of Miami Beach, which I thought was nice and pleasant. We started with the lobster pop tarts, which came in a toaster. Odd concept, but very good because I love lobster, but could maybe have a little more flavor. Next we got the popcorn shrimp, which was my favorite it came in a popcorn machine with popcorn, which was a nice snack along with the shrimp. I don't particularly like fried shrimp, but this was the best shrimp I have ever had. I got the lobster mac & cheese, and my boyfriend got the mouse trap, mac & cheese, lobster mac & cheese is my favorite food, I found it slightly cold, but the lobster was great. For dessert we got the dollar dollar bill dessert that is torched at the table. I recommend getting it with a side of vanilla ice cream very yummy. Lastly, we got the Marie Antoinette cotton candy head. It was breath taking! Overall: 10/10 presentation, 6/10 food, 7.5/10 service.
I went here for my birthday, we had a great time.
Their food & drinks were movie themed and everything we had was delicious, there had an amazing crowd of people mostly everyone was from out of town. Our service was amazing. The music was a bit on the loud side but we did outdoor dining and the weather was perfect.

Love love love the really extreme and dramatic displays for the cocktails and menu items. Really fun experience if you are celebrating a special occasion. Food was good, I do with their were bigger portions however and be mindful if you have a large party that the food displays can make it crowded if everyone has a special cocktail or food option.

A fun and comical dinner experience! I was expecting this restaurant to be more for the experience, but was pleasantly surprised with how much we all loved the food! The steaks were tender, pasta was loaded with flavor and seafood! Services was great, but drinks were okay. Overall the ambiance was fun and they were playing great music!

I don't know if I went when they were under construction or what but the ambience was not giving what it was supposed to have gave. Yes, the food is decorated nicely, but I can tell you one thing the food is not, and that is seasoned.
Buy a Keurig
Wild presentations of OK, but not spectacular, food at somewhat breathtaking tariff. Families were welcome, there's private dining space. Tolerable sound levels. Funnel cake: classic taste...comes with a 'fried ice cream' that was almost impossible to cut up and also somewhat stale tasting. Lobster pop tarts were presented in a faux toaster and were packed with flavorful lobster; came with some undistinguished dipping sauces. Enjoyed the Boo G pasta, a VERY nice fettuccini alfredo loaded with seafood. Very large portion could have fed four. Pleasant, capable wait-staff. CAUTION: valet parking $25 What? No coffee available. They have something against caffeine? That's just weird.
The ambience is great.
The service is amazing. The food is just OK you are paying for the display of the food. The water is $10 even if you just get tap so just a warning do not come here if you are on a budget . The display of the food is really fun and the drinks and martinis are also fun to watch being displayed at other peoples tables Some of the food doesn't seem very worth it because the prices are so high end and I got the cheapest thing on the menu which I believe was $36 Overall great experience but I probably won't be coming back .

Look, I went on Valentine's Day and this place was a disaster. This was my 3rd time patronizing the Barton G chain, twice here in Miami and once in LA, never made it to my local Chicago location when it was open. Here's the deal, I went through the proper channels by properly scheduling a reservation, confirming and even arrived on time. The check in process was chaotic, it was filled with angry diners who had been there for 30 minutes to 1 hr waiting for their prescheduled reservations. When I walked up, I knew it would be a disaster if the people ahead of me were experiencing long wait times. While checking in periodically, we were dismissed by the hostess several times and pushed away with the rationalization that "they are seating people as they arrive". WHAT!!! What's the purpose of a reservation if you as a business don't have your customers adhere to your table time policy, OF COURSE IT IS GOING TO CAUSE A SNOWBALL EFFECT. Complete mismanagement of time and organization, on a day like Valentine's in such a prestigious establishment such a Barton G was a major a disappointment! After about 30-40 minutes with absolutely no compensation from Management, we were finally seated. :( The is valet. There is extremely tight indoor seating, thankfully everyone was kind about minor bumps here in there. There is outdoor seating as well. The server was amazing as well. Price point was cool. Music was great, kudos to the DJ/playlist. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT and all of the gimmicks won't disappoint! To anyone planning to come here, especially on a big holiday, expect delays and don't plan anything afterwards you might be here a while.
If you like a gimmick restaurant, this one is for you.
They serve everything on the menu with some kind of ridiculous, oversized prop. Food is decent but overpriced. The lobster Mac was very good but a bit over powered by the truffle oil.
The dishes & drinks are all fun to receive.
There is a joy in receiving a dish that tastes good and has a theme to its plating.
Great food incredible presentation
It was awesome! The food was one of the best meals I’ve ever had eaten. And the presentations were amazing. The seafood bath was the best seafood iI have tried! It was mostly just amazing!
Barton G - Worth the Visit!
This spot is perfect for a special occasion. It's one of those places that you'd likely only visit once, but you need to visit at least once. The restaurant is small and a bit on the pricey side; but you're paying for the presentation with the food and drinks. The food was delicious. I got the Boujie Pasta and it was yummy and enough for about 3 servings of food. For $60, that's not bad at all. It's a dark vibe but a fun atmosphere. Make sure to take pics and videos of your food/drinks because the staff has to get the presentations that come with them to use for other diners.
Rushed through a disappointing meal
Haven’t been to Barton Gs in a long time, so I was excited to try again. Our waiter Leandro was superb, but he was the most impressive part of the dinner. Had the lobster pop tarts. Got upset with the bus staff because it’s all about presentation, with the pop tart being served in the toaster, but the bus staff removed the toaster so quickly, I wasn’t able to take a photo. The pop tarts were smaller than I remembered, and were just okay. We felt so rushed as they brought out the next appetizer. The spare ribs were tender and delicious. I warned Leandro that I’d kill the bus staff if they removed the presentation, so finally the bus staff listened. We had the Cesar salad, which was good, but I recalled they used to serve it with the grater for additional Parmesan cheese, but no more. My steak was served with the giant fork, but again, the bus staff removed it too quickly. The steak was tender, but tasteless. There was no seasoning on it. $70 for an 8 oz filet, and it was flavorless. Saved room for dessert. Wanted Marie Antoinette, but they only serve the head with cotton candy, and no longer with any small cakes, so I declined. Wasn’t going to spend $42 for just cotton candy. We tried to order coffee, but they don’t serve coffee or tea. Really? Really? I can only rationalize that they want you to leave your table and don’t want you to linger, but it’s absurd. We were out of the restaurant within 1 hour and 40 minutes and felt rushed. So, $622 for 5 of us and I will not go back ever again. I’m so disappointed as the last time I went, everything was exciting, delicious and well presented; this time, only Leandro was great.
All style, no substance
I love trying new restaurants and I’m happy to spend my coin on new experiences but unfortunately this is one where I should have kept my money to myself. The staff and atmosphere were nice and if the food had been good we could have loved it but it proved to be all style no substance. The presentation of the food was innovative and theatrical which was fun but for double the price of other high end restaurants, the food should have been spectacular to match. Unfortunately for us, 2/3 courses we didn’t like/ couldn’t really eat - the Lobster in our Lobster & Grits was too salty and the short ribs too sweet. The slides needed more seasoning and our Dollar Dollar Bill dessert was burnt rather than toasted. The nitro drinks we had were also average at best for for their $36 price. They did remove the Lobster from our bill which we appreciated but we still left feeling cheated on two fronts. $300+ and the best thing we ate was the popcorn shrimp. What a travesty! Safe to say, save yourself some money and book somewhere else!
Fun and delicious!
One of the most fun and unique dinners’s we’ve ever had. Amazing presentations and the food quality and taste was amazing too. Our waitress (believe her name was Kay) was great and was very patient explaining the menu and provided great service.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
