Be the first to ReplyDisgraceful.
The most disappointing meal I've had in Ireland. The food was overpriced. The staff were incredibly rude. No value for money. 25 euro for a caesar salad. The prices have trippled in one year. When we complained to the waiter, he said 'I will not be passing on any complaints, you chose to come here, you can send an email.' When I asked who the owner was, he refused to tell me. It turned out to be his brother.

I went here for a meal with a few of my friends, Food is definitely overpriced & waiter seemed nice until we went to complain about the meal & he didn't want to hear our complaints. The couple beside us were also disappointed. They were being charged almost 5 euro for water that they didn't get. The waiter was dismissive towards them.
Be the first to ReplyDon't bother!
The food is overpriced for what you receive. The service awful. The staff we're so rude. When making an official complaint, the server wouldn't pass the comments to the owner. We won't be back!!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious the best dinner I have had in a long, long time. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding just book it
OK so I have travelled all over the world, our company uses a travel agent so sometimes it's a bit of a lottery on win or lose, today I travelled two hours from Waterford for meetings in Edenderry tomorrow and landed at Bistro 53, speechless, I was also booked into the lovely little quirky brand new rooms upstairs, this is a little golden find not only do I recommend, don't click another time book it, accommodation, well its brand new 10, food in Bistro as good as London 10/10 brilliant N Hughes Alfred H Knight International
Be the first to ReplyGreat experience overall!
The vibe of the restaurant was great and the food was absolutely delicious. There was a wide range of various food on the menu and the price wasn't too bad. The only complaint I have is a staff member. When we first came in to get a chair the man was very demeaning and showed us the menu to "make sure the prices are within our price range" I don't know what made him think I couldn't afford a simple dinner but it did put me in a bad mood for the rest of the dinner. Ignoring that one issue, I really would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice night with their loved ones.

Be the first to ReplyExpensive, but not spectacular
Our host invited us to this place. The meal was good, but not spectacular, and not really worth the money, in my opinion.
Be the first to ReplyNot good value , quality match
Average at best, but now, with increased pricing (20%), def not a good quality, cost match. Will be avoiding in future. Pity
Be the first to ReplyExcellent value for Fantastic Quality Food
We ate here today 18th February as we were in Maynooth for an appointment. The food was excellent beautiful starters and mains top quality - beautifully presented and the restaurant is lovely inside and very cosy. Would definitely eat here again. Fantastic service also
Be the first to ReplyCouples night out
Had the pleasure of eating here tonight. Our initial seating area was beside the toilets. We were all feeling cold and after complaining nicely we were offered alternative seating by the bar. Great food, great staff and great advice on the wine menu. Will be back. Couldn't recommend highley enough
Be the first to ReplyA bit disappointed, not as good as it should be.
This was not an easy place to judge. Let me preface this by saying that "if" the prices were slashed by 40% I'd give it 5 stars. But the prices charged do not reflect in the overall product. So here is the good and the bad. The bad. Food was served on cold plates hence some food was cold (example the parsnip puree with my suckling pig was stone cold and couldn't be touched and really spoiled it for me). We were sat at the rear near the kitchen door and there was a very cold draft coming in, especially around the legs. Service was average but not very good. Friendly but not up to standard. What we didn't like was being rushed out after under 2 hours when we still had wine in our glasses, our table of 4 wasn't even needed urgently as there were around 10 other tables empty at the point we left. And when I say hurried away I mean it, constantly asking (nicely). The good - the menu is nice, some lovely dishes. The Sole was beautiful (but should be at over €40). The other dishes were fine except the smaller veg etc was cold (mainly because of cold plates). In a nutshell. With a bill for four people hitting the €€€ we paid, I expect 5 star standards, not 3 star. Not sure if we will return.
Be the first to ReplyLovely Lunch in the “gap week” before the NewYear
Food really tasty and good portions.. Good value for the two course meal. Main menu expensive in my view. Will be back.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing experience
It will be hard to explain how good was. From the front door I've been welcome by a really Professional waiter Had mussels for starter It was amazing cooked in white wine and fresh chili .... Nice kick but not too much the right balance didn't over power the mussels Follow by a beef check and ...... Wow Have to say for a moment this plate make me travel back home A big thanks to the kitchen who not just cook but put love and passion on what they do and believe me it's hard to find such a good chef those day So if you pass by Maynooth don't hesitate and go treat yourself you won't regret it Can't recommend enough Thanks and merry Christmas to all the staff
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food, friendly staff and beautiful interior
A group of 5 of us went to Bistro 53 on a busy Saturday night. The staff were excellent, they made everyone feel welcome and attended to all our needs in a very professional and courteous manner. The quality of the food was outstanding and honestly the best that I have tasted in Maynooth. The interior of the restaurant is very sophisticated and comfortable.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic Food and great service
I had a reservation for Dinner last night with 4 other colleagues both local and abroad and wow was this just an amazing night, from the most wonderful food to the best waiter , we all just cant wait to come back , such a variety of drinks and courses to chose from not to mention if you were stuck with choice the waiter had no problem with recommendations and he was bang on . Thank you ever so much for a fantastic evening
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Food
I had the 2 courses special fillet of steak and dessert, I chose apple crumble and I really could not fault either. The steak was sublime and mash potato was perfect too the crumble was served hot in a bowl it had plenty of apple and a decent scoop of ice cream. My two girls 8 and 9 years had the kid’s carbonara and bolognaise both thought it was delicious the portions were very good all I could here was “mmmm”. My only gripe was sharing a bottle of €5 water with them as they do not serve tap water and my girls are like camels but I refused to pay any more for water. They were to full for desert and wanted to get to Centra for more water. It’s an awful shame they refuse to give tap water as Italian food is heavy and require it. The food was amazing our compliments to the chef but refusing to serve tap water is costly. The staff were nice and efficient.
