Don't let the lack of white table cloth fool you.
These guys know how to cook. We had the tasting menu and it was divine. A small but eclectic wine list rounded out our 5 course extravaganza. Small and lovely place. What a find.

Let Frédérique do it for you. He's the quintessential Parisian waiter on steroids. He'll inform you of a poor decision with his eyebrows. Awesome leg of lamb and potatoes. Best soufflé ever. Go for the experience and enjoy great food!

If I could go to this bistro every week, I most definitely would. We arrived around 15 minutes before our reservations and were seated immediately being the only ones in the restaurant (at ~19:30). The place sure filled up quick. We opted for the recommended fixed menu with the exception of the main dish - instead of the recommended pork feet, we both ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes. The first dish was the asparagus soup - a few clams were served in a shallow soup dish and the soup was poured upon arrival to our table. My initial thought was that the dish sounded slightly strange but I was absolutely delighted with the presentation, taste, and texture of the soup. The main dish was the chicken served with the mashed potatoes in I believe a saffron sauce. The pieces of chicken were cooked to perfection and the sauces on both the chicken and mashed potatoes were amazing and paired extremely well. The dessert was soufflé with a raspberry creme sauce. This was my first time having soufflé and I'm still dreaming about it. The soufflé was light, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of sweetness. SO DREAMY.I'm not easily impressed when it comes to food, but I thoroughly believe this place deserves the full five stars. I could see how the service may lack when the restaurant is full (there are only two servers) but my experience was outstanding. The atmosphere had a cute, intimate feel to it, the service was great, and all of the food was absolutely amazing.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was decent, the service ruined the meal.
We were seated quickly and then forgotten about for 15-20 minutes. I had to get up and run a waiter down for a menu. I was told to eat the white fish-- when I went over the different types of white fish with the waiter in french, he was still unable to explain it. So I had the lamb-- it was a little saltyBut not bad. We ordered the cheese with a glass of wine for desert and they forgot the wine till once more I had to make the waiter aware of his lapse.I NEVER GIVE BAD REVIEWS-- but the reviews on this place are just old and out of date! it is understaffed and unless you are French-- just forget it. After 25 plus years of coming to Paris twice or more a year I do not recall worse service. Be advised you can do better until their service improves!
Be the first to ReplyMy mom and I enjoyed one of our best meals in Paris here.
The waitstaff was impeccable. Fred was warm, funny, and generous. We opted for the fixed menu; pumpkin soup, beef bourguignon, and cheese for dessert. In between courses, we were offered a delicious little pastry cheese puff and a delightful small cookie. Tip: We made a reservation through the app lafourchette. Though it was "confirmed" via the app, the restaurant called the day of my reservation to confirm that we would be there. Like most restaurants in Paris, our waiter spoke English, but the voice message was left in French. If you don't have cell phone service in Paris, be sure to confirm with them outside of the app!

This is a great small place to eat in the rue Cler area without hurting your pocket book. The service was friendly. Suggest you make a reservation in advance as there is limited seating. the night we where there - mostly americans as the restaurant is written up in the Rick Steve's Paris travel book.
Be the first to ReplyGreat little bistro in Paris.
The service was amazing as well as the food. I had the beef dish and it was full of flavor. Great deal for 3 course meal also.

I could barely read the menu as my French was limited, but ended up with my best meal during my vacation in Paris.Started with the charcuterie. It includes something that may have been lardo which was very delicious. The sea bream over risotto was amazing. Perfectly cooked. The dessert of some kind of chocolate was awesome.I walked in during lunch without a reservation. During my stay, there probably were about 15 other customers. My server was very polite and tried to be helpful, even though my limited French was definitely an obstacle.I would definitely come back. This is great quality food for a reasonable price.
