Loud Americanized
If you think sushi is rolls with three kinds of fish and appreciate loud music designed to encourage you to eat faster this could be your place. If you are looking for the opportunity to have an elegant dinner prepared by a highly trained chef you will be disappointed. Since Ki left the place is staffed with line cooks, who you can’t speak with even sitting at the bar. The bluefin and scallops are consistently good. The rest of the fish is decidedly average, and the “wasabi” is green dyed horse radish and chemicals.

This was our second try at this restaurant and it feels like it tries too hard. It is very dark and that makes it hard to even read the menu. Then it’s LOUD. Every song has the same bass back beat and I felt like I was in a disco wannabe. The food was fine, although the basic sushi rolls were better than the daily special or the special rolls. If you are craving sushi, it’s fine. But not someplace that will be on our list for the next time we are in Chatham.

The atmosphere is cool, the service is great, and the food is amazing. My friends and I shared a bunch of things and we all agreed that everything was outstanding! Highly recommend the roasted beet and arugula salad, sushi rolls of the day, Pad Thai, and vegetarian sweet potato rolls.

Sushi fans, this restaurant is great! The rolls are fresh and delicious. Beautifully designed space, large bar. You will need to make a reservation ahead of time: it’s a popular spot and you won’t get in without one. Very good!
Be the first to ReplyGood sushi
Very good sushi, but my wife had a hard time finding something to eat as she did not eat sushi. She settled on the hamburger and asked for medium rare. It came out hard as a rock. Additionally, she was asked if she wanted grilled onions and another sauce on it and we found out when the check came that there was a hefty up charge for those. We were celebrating my birthday, and they were very kind to bring me a very delicious dessert.

We had reservations for a weeknight at opening and were quite surprised how busy the place was even at 5. We were promptly seated and ordered the pork dumplings which were excellent. We ordered several rolls which were very good. Overall we were quite happy with Bluefins during our stay and we would go back if ever in Chatham again as everything was on point during our visit. Our only negative, if there is one, was we did feel like things were a tad rushed, but at the same time service was very attentive.
Be the first to ReplyFine Food Still One Of The Best.
This was at least our tenth trip to Bluefins for dinner. I must say, the quality of the food holds up. The Fish is fresh and succulent and served to perfection. We ate at the bar. The bartender was more interested in hanging with the Resturant crew in stead of tending bar. Despite that hiccup, the dining was wonderful and will go back again.
Be the first to ReplyWhat is up at Blue Fin??????
Ok so we’ve lived in Chatham 20+ years iand have been regulars at Blue Fin for years. Arrived Friday night at 8:45 where the manager told us at the door it was “last call” and no food was being served. Walked in on Wednesday night at 6:20 bar seats were mostly all open, we sat at the bar and the hostess came over a few minutes later telling us we really should have checked in with her before sitting down? The next two people who came in and sat themselves were not approached by the hostess at all!!! When did this become a thing? The bartender then asked us to move our seat over to sit next to the people near us so there weren’t any seats in between (again bar mostly empty). The food is always great, but something is really off with the management. After 10 years going we and the friends we were sitting next to were really put off. (BTW this is late October off season) . I hope the owners are paying more attention, we are here for 7 months but don’t feel welcomed any more!!!

Very loud spot for dinner. Fresh sushi but spotty service. Not sure we would go back. Very hectic vibe.
Be the first to ReplyGo for the pork dumplings
Pork dumplings were wonderful, melt in your mouth wrap but chewy filling. Tornado roll was interesting in a good but non traditional way. Volcano roll tasted like mayonnaise, lots of mayonnaise. Toro meh. Sweet shrimp good.

We are from Vancouver BC so we have very high standard. We probably shouldn’t choose a sushi place at Cape Cod. But then we miss Japanese food very much after leaving home for a while…
The hot items are below average. The Korean ribs were hard and dry ( way over cooked ) yet the meat does not fall off the bones. The teriyaki chicken was tough, dry and tasteless inside. The oyster tempura has more flour then oyster and is chewy to each bite, the tempura coating is not even fluffy - this is not tempura, this is the usual fish and chip batter coating! Just call this fried oyster with batter, don’t mis use the tempura for something it is not.
The very expensive sashimi is nice and with a variety. It doesn’t require culinary skill but nevertheless is well presented and fresh. So come here for raw food only.
Expensive place and not value for money, go elsewhere for better food at Cape Cod.
Very Good Sushi
The folks here are very welcoming, and the sushi is very good. We were struck by the freshness and quality. We stuck with sushi, but the hot entrees looked good too. The bar program is fun--some sake you don't see every day, and a good selection of Japanese Whisky as well.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious sushi! Disappointing service!
Dining is judged not only by the food quality, but more importantly the service and experience. Despite the great cocktails, wonderful appetizers and delicious sushi, unfortunately we did not have a good encounter recently at Blue Fin. They maintain their 90-minute dining limit policy, even in March. Being "off-season" on the Cape, this isn't a policy we often see. So, meeting up with old friends and expecting a nice, slow paced enjoyable evening was out of the question, as we barely had time to eat dinner, let alone any time for dessert. The manner in which we were pressured to finish up bordered offensive! Disappointing, at the very least. There are many other restaurants that welcome "lingering” diners and larger $$$ dinner tabs, of which we will be frequenting in the future.

Great atmosphere, I've never had a bad dish or poor service, this is the best spot for sushi rolls on the cape! Great date night spot.
Be the first to ReplySushi on the Cape!!
My wife and I eat a lot of Sushi now we understand that back home sushi isn't like Sushi when your away. This is a very good Sushi spot on the Cape very good plate presentation, we also felt that the rolls weren't wrapped tight roll.
I did order the Kroren BBQ Short ribs as app wow these was the show stopper here!1 So good here I should have ordered two orders since we ate. Very good ribs please order these if you enjoy finger licking good stuff.
Overall the Sushi was good food and drinks was great, service was fast clean, and safe. The cheesecake I think they made it in house very good cheesecake two forks please.
Will we come back for sure great restaurant good food and drinks for many date nights!1
Good food, high prices, but they want to turn those tables
We weren't offered dessert, because it was time to turn our table. The prices were three times sushi places back home, but the food was tasty and presented well.

We LOVE Bluefin! Best Sushi on Cape Cod by far! Their regular entrees are great too - the Pad Thai is amazing. Usually do take out with them, which is always great, but the vibe inside is fun also. Great cocktails and apps. Highly recommend!

Came here for dinner with my family the other night. We made reservations ahead of time, so we only waited a minute or two before being seated. We were served our drinks, appetizers and main courses in a timely fashion - not rushed or too slow.If you are a sake fan, they have a nice variety.
As for the food, The sushi, pad thai and wagyu burger our party ordered was delicious! I highly recommend Chirashi as well. I would absolutely eat here again.
Great spot for sushi and more
Blue Fins aims to please wirh a varied menu. Their sushi is the main event, and they distinguish themselves with unique, creative rolls. The Happy Girl roll is just flat out awesome. Their nigiri is so fresh, with highlights being the salmon nigiri and toro nigiri. They have a terrific cocktail list. It’s a busy spot and the staff works very hard to meet everyone’s needs.

Had dinner there several evenings ago. Showed up on a Sat eve without a reservation and luckily snagged seats at the bar. Great seats! Veljko, our mixologist/waiter made us classic Sazeracs and Emily selected a tasty Sancere for dinner. We shared a raw 513 roll then shrimp pad Thai for dinner. Delicious. Never had better!
