If you're looking for some classic Scottish food in London,
If you're looking for some classic Scottish food in London, this is the place. Definitely has a bit of a boys club vibe and at night they have a band that plays. We had lunch there and had the oysters, roast scallops and their famous haggis (I got the mini size which was perfect for lunch). We also got their truffle chips which was so good. The food was delicious and I was surprised how much I liked their haggis. It wasn't gamey like it is in other traditional places. Next time I'd try their steak and hope to review again.

What an amazing location for cigars, cocktails, good food, and amazing music! Boisdale of Belgravia just seems to have it all! This is one of my dads go to spots for a night out in London, so he was so excited to bring us here! We started the night by hanging out in the cigar lounge, and even though we didn't try any of their cigars, my dad can attest that they are all very good quality! We enjoyed some cocktails and gin up there before heading down later in the evening for dinner. For dinner, we started with the squid and venison tartare, and surprisingly the venison tartare was my favorite! It was super flavorful and had a real nice meaty flavor to eat. For the entrees, we all ordered the filet mignon with truffled chips and peppercorn sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly medium well, and the chips were nicely crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The peppercorn sauce really tied everything together as well! For dessert, we enjoyed a sticky pudding and cheesecake, both of which were amazing. We enjoyed some live music while we ate, talked, and drank! This was definitely a lively evening, and we were here almost 4 hours enjoying ourselves!

I had to do the airplane wave to get their attention. Have and risotto were outstanding. Loved the blues too!

Unfortunately I have to give this place a two star based on the grumpy bartender. For some reason he did not like the, "American" customers. The bar food is decent, it's too bad we felt uncomfortable.
Be the first to ReplyA fine Scottish evening.
Great ambiance. Great food. Started with the haggis--of course. Then enjoyed a lovely fish dish. Scotch with the starter, wine with the main, and then Scotch for desert. There is also an enjoyable top floor patio/balcony for cigar smoking with a good selection of Cuban cigars.

Absolutely fantastic!!! ย If you enjoy great service, amazing Scottish whiskey and live jazz... GO HERE. ย The food is also delicious and the vibe is so perfect at Boisdale. ย I was lucky enough to find it on Yelp when I was in town on a business trip and I had to go a second night with colleague after my first experience. ย Both nights and all the people --- perfect!
Be the first to ReplyI found this restaurant while googling where to eat haggis
I found this restaurant while googling where to eat haggis in London. While on a business trip, I ended up coming here for dinner on a Monday evening without a reservation. The hostess at the front desk greeted me kindly, and directed me to another member of staff who took me into the dining room. I took a seat at a table, and they brought me a menu and water immediately. I opted for three smaller dishes, two from the British tapas part of the menu, and one from the first course part. The scotch egg and the Welsh rarebit were served soon after ordering. The scotch egg was absolutely delicious, with a crisp exterior, and just cooked enough inside. The Welsh rarebit consisted of thick, melted cheese on top of pieces of toast. It was heavy and moreish. Would recommend for any cheese lover. The haggis was served shortly after I was done with the smaller plates. I was only trying haggis for the sake of it, as it was my first time, but found that I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. It had a mincey interior, much like sausage, and a pleasant, meaty taste, which wasn't overpowering. It went well with the accompanying sauce, and the mashed sweet potato. I would definitely try this again. The service was polite and efficient. Prices were modest for London restaurants - for these three dishes, it cost me just under 20 pounds. Would recommend this place for either a group or solo dinner.
Be the first to ReplyMy husband and I was in London our first night.
Came across this place. Entered and ask to buy a cigar. Lead upstairs, around a few corners and to a smoke room. Got 2 Cuban cohiba cigars and kept asking price, Guy says I will have to check. he than took us to the lounge, ask for price again. Still no answer. Got a match go light after offered at 90 dollar lighter. The guy kept talking and offered a Sample of Whiskey as " it sent with the cigar which we still had no price for!!! We were given 3 glasses (1/6 of a real shot when compares to the gUy to our right. An American, a finish, and another one that we still did not get a price for . Stayed 28 minutes and the bill 208.xx wow. Rip off and deceptive. Sad people.

I really loved the restaurant, very authentic, it's been there since 1780, the atmosphere is great, the service is excellent, the burger was fantastic, loved the hole experience.

My friend had his 30th here, I happily went, but I'm going to admit the prices are above what I'd pay. We had a set menu but many people were deviating from it. However when I ordered I was informed I couldn't, despite half the table being served their requests. Honestly don't see why a standard burger should worry the chefs. The jazz night was great and the terrace upstairs is a nice feature that allows smoking, the atmosphere was lively and as I was with a group of wine experts, we had amazing drinks. Again, I was just put off by being told I couldn't have what I asked for.

This was my first experience in a restaurant in England and I was pleasantly surprised. I had welsh whisky, Scottish haggis, French wine, and a British ribeye steak. Everything including the service was beautiful. (Even the haggis).
