Absolutely amazing fabulous time!!
First time at the Boisdale Canary Wharf and what a memorable occasion on both nights we were there. The staff are so friendly and attentive - top marks for whoever does the training. The food was gorgeous and plenty of it and the choice of drinks, all reasonably priced, was mind blowing. A special thanks to Gloria and Samuel who tended to our table so efficiently. It really is like a well oiled machine staff wise and the venue itself is sumptuous. We saw Whitney Houston and Tina Turner, both performed by the same person, and it really was like watching the real thing!! 10/10 thank you and we'll be back.

The evening started so well we arrived an hour before our table booking with no reservation for drinks in the bar - but my party of seven were welcomed with open arms and a lovely table on the terrace was found for us to enjoy drinks as the sun was setting. There was no problem transferring our drinks bill upstairs to our dining table - the food was delicious and the waiting staff attentive. Background music during our meal featured some of the best hits of the 80s so when the band came onto the stage it was time to boogie - we loved it - super fun. The fun however came to an abrupt end when the band finished their 1 12 hour set and a DJ (!?!!!) began playing what can only be described as noise! He loudly interrupted the noise with inane remarks too. Boisdales what have you done? Surely when selling tickets for a show such as this you should take note of the clientele and their music choices. You lost 3 hours of potentially spends in the bar from us as we decided to leave and head back to our hotel. Such a shame as we would have stayed had the music played by the DJ resembled music!

I have been a Boisdale member for 15 years and have recently moved to Canary Wharf so this is now my regular. It delivers the classic Boisdale experience, but I’m more focussed on the members terrace and cigar lounge where Radu is king of the stogies.

Loved almost everything about our Sunday jazz lunch here again on 17th July 2022, including the wonderful band and singer Louise Messenger and Fabio, our waiter, was charming. However, I have been used to great roast beef here and, well, it wasn't. Whereas before it was obviously hand carved and a bit on the chunky side (which I like), this time it was like 4 thin supermarket machine slices, drowned in gravy. Not very nice at all. My husband had the pork and it was really fatty - not even nice fatty - white lardy fatty, which he eventually sent back. They did offer to replace, but he had had enough with starter and what he had eaten already, so declined. Then, no vanilla ice cream for dessert. The food has always been a big part of our attending the Sunday jazz lunch. We will try again in the future, but, unless the food reverts to what it was, we will not be regulars, I'm very sorry to say.

We have been going here for around 6 years now, on birthdays and special occasions. Alas, no more! Last year we went to see Boney-M - well what we got was a mediocre band with one original member of Boney-M standing in the background occasionally making some loud yelping sound…it was verging on breaching the trade description act! I mean she wasn’t even the female lead singer from the original band…we left, sorely disappointed.. However, months went by and time faded our disappointment..We decided to give it another go this weekend with Noel McKoy, allegedly a Marvin Gaye tribute act.. Really? Marvin Haggler could have belted out a better tune! In fact my partner could have done better and we’re only still together after the promise of never to sing out loud in my presence! He was poor. So poor, we didn’t even stay for the whole show, and I’m Scottish and like to get my monies worth! To top it off, the noise from the racket on the floor below was louder and although in hindsight, a blessing, if you’re gonna charge me money for live music, then have some DJ in another room try and ‘boom boom boom’ his way over it, really? And then there’s the staff..we were there on Friday 15th July. A lady dressed all in black with long blonde straight hair and glasses, appeared to spend most of the evening stomping all over the place complaining to staff about what? We know not! But her entire demeanour on the floor, around customers was utterly off-putting! If she’s got a gripe, take it to the staff room and not walk in—between tables and customers to corner other staff to have a moan. This went on for over two hours! But hey, watching her was at least detracting us from having to listening ‘Marvin’. So this fiasco cost us £78 for the live ‘music’ and £60 for one bottle of wine and a pretty sad cheese board and did absolutely nothing to lighten our mood.. Oh Boisdales, what have you done? Your live music is beyond below par, Boney-M doesn’t exist and this act really has no place being promoted as them!! And Marvin Gaye is spinning if you think you just put on a tribute act! Noel might just make it as a session singer, but he’s no tribute act. We do a 300+ mile round trip with overnight hotel to come to Boisdale! Judging by our last two experiences and the cost, not sure we’ll be doing it again.

Be the first to ReplyGood Night out but Drinks expensive
Been here a few times now and came here with a group after a previous event. Nice venue with polite and engaging staff. I had a chicken burger which was ok, but a little on the dry side. The chips didn’t look freshly made and were a little hard. Drinks are stupidly expensive but I suppose that’s where they really make their money so beware.
Be the first to ReplyBEWARE OF RIP-OFF DRINK PRICES
A complimentary "Premium" Visit was arranged by the Manager back in 2019 after a terrible visit where we experienced the worst service ever...kindly very muck agreed and acknowledged by the manager at the time. Our visit this time was on Saturday 18th June to see "Oye Santana" which was a great evening - apart from being ripped off for the drinks...... £16.40 for 1 glass of Rose wine, average of £10/single shot of Vodka/Gin and £9 for am Estrella Lager..... topped by having a "discretionary" £52 automatically added to the bill covering "service charge"...... Very much appreciate the fact that they are in Canary Wharf - but I really do not expect to be faced with an exhorbitant charge for drinks which really is not acceptable - especially with regard to the wine which can actually be purchased at £18/bottle in Majestic Wines, whereas Boisdale's charge £58 for the same one!!!! Come on Boisdale management, think about what you are doing and re-think your prices - we most certainly will not be returning until these aspects are looked at, agreed with and revised!
Be the first to ReplyNot worth a visit
Went to Alexander O'Neil here on Saturday. Really disappointed - he done a 40 minute set which included a break - mumbled his way through the songs - not good. Food at the venue was good but its started to look a bit shabby in there and not really worth thd money now. There are many better places to visit. Also the standard 13.5% service charge for very basic service is really not worth it.
