This BTK takes bookings
Of the BTK in the central area this is the one that accepts bookings and usually has availability. Standard of food is similar to the other outlets and there is ample parking in the area however this branch has a policy of not allowing you to pour your own chicken rice chili they are rationing it like itโs gold. Same for the black sauce and ginger. That was the only downside.

The family came here againfor lunch. The chicken was nice, especially with the rice. We also liked the coffee ribs, fried towgay with salted fish and fried tofu. The horfun was also tasty. The fried youtiao with sotong looked hard, but was actually quite easy to bite. Service was quick. The meal for 7 of us came up to almost $200.

Great place and HDB Heartland ambience with aircon restaurant for family . Simple and best Singapore Chicken Rice. Ask for Ginger sauce to go with their Chicken Rice Chilli.
Be the first to ReplyChicken rice with standards!
Really love Boon Tong Kee's Chicken Rice! As a chained restaurant, I must say that they really maintained decent standards whenever we order from them (we will usually ask for cater for our office lunches).
What I really like about their chicken rice is that the Rice is always very fragrant and not too hard for consumption! When you mixed the rice with the Ginger, chilli and dark soy sauce, it was really tasty and you will just not mind going for more. As for the chicken, it is very tender and not too dry (Personally I like the breast meat and they have done it pretty well).
Their Tze Char collection was also really tasty as well (Ngor Hiang, Sweet and sour pork, Stir Fried scramble eggs with prawns, Pork Ribs) All these were really tasty as well.
Though I ordered cater most of the time, but I believe that the food standard that we eat at the physical stall will be even nicer (since it will be prepared hot).
Itโs an ok place
Itโs an ok place. Really not on my top list.
Chicken itโs easy to cook, so why big deal about the chicken in this place?
Worth to tryst least.
Delicious Chicken!
We (20) had lunch at Boon Tong Kee. The chicken was delicious. The vegetables were good. The service was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible and very oily
Boon Tong Kee chicken rice is not as good as it claims to be on TV. In fact, the rice and chicken is very oily and tasteless. Loi Kee and Seah Street chicken rice shops are far better.

The outlet is crowded even though it is located in a public estate and with a big carpark infront.
The menu is designed for the lunar festival. With big crowd patronising the outlet, the service is fast and efficient. Of course the main dish is the chicken which is just average.
Tasty dishes
I have dined only once, and quite a while back at the BTK outlet in River Valley but cannot recall anything particularly outstanding in the course of the meal then. So my hubby and I decided to try the Ang Mo Kio outlet not only to update our palate experience but because it seemed accessible for wheelchair; the car park being right in front of the restaurant. I was surprised at the number of tables packed into this neighborhood outlet and was wondering if it was because of the Chinese New Year season. We did not order the chicken but chose 3 dishes instead. My mother decided on the Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet that came in lightly coated slices with just the right amount of tasty sauce. My hubby was keen on the Fried Venison with Black Pepper Sauce which was tender and delicious. I chose the Braised Beancurd with Crab Meat sauce that was also very good and fresh-tasting. We had chicken rice to go with the dishes and the portions were just nice for the 3 of us. We rounded off the meal with the 'Orh Nee' which is Yam Paste with Pumpkin and Gingko Nuts. It would have been better with a touch more sweetness and more gingko. Our total bill was just below $80 without drinks. We would like to visit this outlet again to try some of the other tempting dishes, perhaps with a larger group as it makes it easier for sharing.

The tour company we used brought us here for dinner and this was the best experience we have had with this Singapore trip. The chicken was tender and juicy. Chicken rice was even better. A must.
