Love the ambiance.
Love the service. Love the food. The host was fun from the second we walked in. He moved some tables around and found us space to east right away. I had a cup of the euros famous soup. So hearty and delicious I could've stopped there but I didn't. The server convinced me to have the pot pie. Rick, creamy and delicious with massive chunks of chicken. The dish should be shared. I only ate about half. Don't miss a chance to eat here when in the city.

I can't say enough about this adorable diner! We were greeted with such friendly, welcoming staff. They seated us immediately, and they even let us pick a booth by the window. The server was very informative, and he told us a lot of history about the restaurant, which was interesting. My daughters chocolate milkshake ($8) was quickly made and served to her. It was so good! We shared the waffles and egg and bacon.($23) The bacon and eggs were delicious, but the waffle was missing something...or many things? I think it needed sugar and egg...not really sure, but it oddly tasted like plain, white bread. My daughter switched it out for a bagel, which was fresh and homemade!! We also tried the popular Noodle Krugel($8), and it was interesting! Noodles with egg, cream, brown sugar and raisins. We weren't huge fans, but it wasn't awful either! We will definitely visit again and try other foods! Just the atmosphere, drinks and hospitality made it worth the experience!!
Be the first to ReplyThe Brooklyn dinner is definitely worth visiting.
Food is very good. There signature giant hot dog may be the best hot dog in the history of the hot dog.
Be the first to ReplyUpscale diner with bar seating available.
Food was great and service was lightning quick. The prices are a useful reference point for when you need to think of what "New York prices" actually means when comparing American food prices at other restaurants in America.

Clearly a tourist trap, food was so so, quality not so great. In a city full of diners do yourself a favor, go to a real one within a block or two, and treat yourself to better food and a more authentic atmosphere.

Walked just around the corner from our hotel in NYC to this gem of a place! It's an old school diner that tucked in the perfect place in New York! The service was spot on and they never let my coffee cold or close to empty! The food is just what you would expect from a diner in the heart of the city.

This place is quaint! We got right in around 9a without reservations (table for 2).It's very small inside but has an OG diner feel to it. The waiter took awhile to come by but he was nice once he got to us!The plate I got wasn't anything special. It was all good, the bagel was fresh (just hard to chew), and it hit the spot! Been there done that, no reason really to come back when we've got so many other great places to try :)
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food but thanks to the location, it'll cost you.
A breakfast plate, juice, coffee, and a side of bacon set me back $40 this morning. Dining here is a special occasion rather than an every day occurrence. The manager is a sweetheart; I called to ask about bringing in my service dog in training, and this guy was genuinely happy to see us. And you can't beat their homemade strawberry jam - it's to die for. And normally I don't like strawberry jam!

I love the ambiance of this restaurant. I'm not sure what's the deal with popular artists/actors names by the tables but I thought it was cool. We came here for breakfast, the food and the staff was okay....I wasn't that impressed. Location is good, not too far from Central Park.

I ordered matzah ball soup, flaken, noodle coogle, and as I was feasting on the delicious food, I began to cry. The waiter came over and asked if I was ok, and I said, "yes, I'm fine. This reminds me of my mother so much, it brought me to tears."
Be the first to ReplyThe food is very cozy diner style reliable and good.
However, the prices for their breakfast menu items were a bit overpriced, $20 for a waffle with fruit is only true in Manhattan but I guess they do have to survive and keep up with demands and rent.
Be the first to ReplyThe inside of this diner is exactly what you would expect
The inside of this diner is exactly what you would expect NYC to be. Service was exceptional.Egg white omelet was delicious and has browns were very unique, like large coated pieces of potato, not uniform, and fried. The only downfall to this restaurant would be pricing. Very expensive for breakfast.Great food however and a very good overall experience.

I honestly thought this place would be a crappy tourist trap, but it's seriously good food. They have some of the best pastrami I've had, and Ive tried a lot in the NY/NJ area. Also recommend the house made chicken soup
Be the first to ReplyThe cheese burger was prettty good.
It was juicy and tender even as it was cooked well done. The burrito tastes more Cuban than it did Mexican. The service was great. The atmosphere is clean and has a great temp. The bathroom was clean and even had options for soap as well as mouthwash. Just pass on the milkshakes.

GREAT place! Wonderful staff (Sherise and Gus/Guy? (Sorry I can't remember, but he was the Host that night) were amazing the night we were there 03/20) and the food was delivered fast and delicious.I had the chicken pot pie and it was all a pot pie should be- flaky puff crust, the filling had peas, carrots and pearl onion - often left out, and the portion was huge.My daughter had the waffle, eggs and bacon. Let me tell you about that bacon .. a large portion of thick-cut slab bacon that obviously started out as pork belly and it was delicious.Sherise kindly wrapped up m pot pie leftovers (half the pie, actually, did I mention it was huge?)and we got the 8" chocolate chip cookie and the 'world's best' rugelach to go as well. The cookie was as large as a head, I swear and lasted for two days. The pastries made a perfect breakfast next morning as well.Just a GREAT experience all around and I will add this place to my favorites. See you guys next time I am in NYC!
Be the first to ReplyA true classic NY diner.
The staff is so friendly, efficient, quick, and nice. The food is meh, overpriced and compared to some of the other diners in the areas the quality/quantity ratio doesn't really live up to you the prices. The pancakes were subpar and I would give them 3/10 as they weren't fully cooked and more sticky. I wanted to get the simple chocolate chips added but that wasn't even an option (bummer). The bacon was also not so great just okay, nothing special and 3 simple slices.Bottom line is I would go to Carnegie Deli across the street if I had the option, no question.

Being our first visit to BD but having passed it many times, my wife and I decided to try it . After a very ebullient greeting from the manager we were given a table. Red Flags popped up immediately when we saw a two- sided menu with mostly desserts and drinks featured. Too, the prices were sky high in La la land. Thus we ordered the least expensive items we could find. Michele ordered. Bowl of chicken noodle soup which was supposed to come with their freshly baked challah . I opted for the veggie burger. When my wife' s soup came it was a horrible and totally inedible with a small piece of white bread toasted on one side. My veggie was as bad. Large bun but almost nothing in between except black bean spread, and a cup of fries The bill for this glop was $32.00 . Beware!!

Horrific service . I won't complain but the price point is unbelievable. Save your money and stomach.
Be the first to ReplyOk let's start with the hostess super nice, the bartender
Ok let's start with the hostess super nice, the bartender while we waited for our table was amazing it all began when we were seated our waiter seemed to not want to be bothered let me explain, being from out of town my husband always asks the staff what others are eating and what they personally eat at the establishment and for the most part we get great recommendations this guy was not interested he said Oh I don't know, check the menu and when my husband asked what's in the omelet he pointed to the menu again and said it says it there, he didn't return after he took our order to check if we needed water or anything someone brought our food which was semi-cold as though it was sitting there for him to pick up I did see him assisting other tables just not ours... he finally appeared at the end when we were done and had ordered dessert from the awesome hostess who saw that we were getting the cold shoulder from him. I did make a comment and said "Oh there you are right on time like a bill to collect my money thought your shift was over" he could tell I was annoyed and tried to say something but I had tuned him out at that point. The food is good the cheesecake is decadent
Be the first to ReplyExcellent home-cooked food, with very good service.
Great staff and awesome diner atmosphere. Limited menu, but they do it very well and even provide something for us vegetarians. Be sure to try the noodle kugel, if you get a chance to.Also; One of the few restaurants in the area that make their deserts on-site (ex. Cheesecake) and not trucked in from a central kitchen.

This was my first time going to Brooklyn Diner and I guarantee this will not be my last time. The food was amazing and I love the atmosphere and setting of the establishment. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Guy. I truly enjoyed myself and will be looking forward to going back there again. I definitely recommend anyone who haven't been to this place to please go.

The rating made me skeptical, but we decided to give it a try. The menu was not what I was expecting for a diner. One side is devoted to drinks including wines and cocktails. On the one hand, the menu is more condensed and doesn't have some things or as many choices as you'd find on a diner menu. On the other hand, there are globally-inspired items like salmon teriyaki or the Mexican bowl. I ordered the chicken pot pie which was impressive-looking. Big pieces of white meat chicken, carrots, pearl onions and peas in a creamy gravy with good consistency. It was served piping hot. The phyllo looked great but was a little salty. The pastrami in the Ruben was very moist and tender. They also have homemade lemonade. The waitress was very pleasant and enthusiastically recommended the pot pie when I was deciding between menu items. The place has a nice retro vibe.
Be the first to ReplyI love this spot.
I used to work in the building above it and ate here all the time. I was wandering NY with mom and popped in. The menu has changed but the meal was enjoyable as usual. We had the waffle sandwiches

So today we were wandering around Times Square looking for a different breakfast diner & stumbled across The Brooklyn Diner,as it's quite a small tucked away entrance we were a little apprehensive, however as we approached the door way there were others waiting to get in *always a good sign - & our greeter was very helpful in welcoming us in & finding us a table. It is very professional, smartly dressed staff & clean looking restaurant (proper old school - which is great to see in 2022,people taking pride in their work)I ordered Tony Bennett's Famous Thick-Cut Cinnamon, Raisin & Pecan French Toast with Fresh strawberries & all-natural vermont maple syrup (I used way too much syrup, but oh my god it was worth it - amazing!)My wife had the scrambled egg with onions which comes with polenta potato bites & a warm fresh toasted bagel.(I sampled some of this stealing it if my wife's plate & it was great) *footnote - she did say I could have some. This was washed down with lashings of fresh coffee. Our server was attentive topping up our drinks on tap & putting bottled water on the table,at the start so we could stay hydrated.Highly recommend,Times Square never fails to deliver little gems that if you don't know are there or simply walk by,you'd never know they were there or worth the visit.Enjoy
