In the cave of the goddess of food and wine Buca Di Bacco
In the cave of the goddess of food and wine Buca Di Bacco is over 100 years old and the food is still perfection. We see why this restaurant has lived for so many years, it was a wonderful experience with food, wine, and the service! We got zucchini flowers to begin with, seabass with vegetables, and delicious pasta , paired with delicious wine our waiter was so sweet he actually helped me decide which fish to try and he did not disappoint it was so fresh and it melted in the mouth! The plus side was that we were right by the water view again and honestly it makes the difference so gorgeous to look at!

We are staying in the hotel and loved it so much that this is our third time. It has the most amazing views. We chose to be outside on the upstairs dining area. I found the price very reasonable and the wait staff amazing. The food was great! Homemade pasta, muscles, lemon risotto... all amazing.

Fortunately there are much better restaurants in Positano with similar views, better in fact. The service was poor, inattentive, and unfriendly. The pasta undercooked and hard. I was unable to cut the steak with a steak knife due to what I originally thought was fat but must have been a tendon as I couldn't saw through it no matter how hard I tried. It was also drenched in a far too strong red wine reduction which overpowered the steak and vegetables. Sent it back and they said it would be removed from the bill yet there it was when the check arrived. Overall one of the worst Italian dinners ever had anywhere. Just another typical tourist trap as you might expect for it's location.

The service and atmosphere was amazing, but my sister and I ended up with food poisoning after we both got the chicken parm.

This restaurant is in an amazing location in Positano near the main beach, which makes it very easy to get to. It also has stunning views from inside, so I would highly recommend making a reservation and getting a table near the windows. We arrived early in the evening and ordered some wine paired and pasta dishes. We tried the shrimp risotto and ravioli which were both tasty, but very overpriced for the portion size. When we asked for the bill, the waiter was very surprised that we didn't order anything more, and after paying for our bill in euros, he asked us if we wanted any change, and then proceeded to get visibly annoyed when we said "yes". Despite the service and portions, we had a nice time here but I'd be hesitant to return.

Gorgeous restaurant right by the water in positano but holy shit the ravioli was WAYY too salty and completely inedible... Wait staff was incredibly professional however and took the item off of our bill, we didn't even have to ask! Gotta love good service, hence the 3 stars. We all make mistakes and it's easy to get heavy handed with salt so... shit happens! Would not recommend tho, there are sooo many great restaurants in Positano.. I'd recommend going elsewhere...

Went there for lunch, food was good and the view was great because it was right on the beach. It was a little pricey but I guess that is what you get for the view!

Buca di Bacco is where locals who know their stuff go to have nice dinners. The staff is great, food is spectacular, and the prices are reasonable. The arugula and seafood salads were great. The linguini lobster dish was excellent. And the views are tough to beat. I highly recommend coming here when you're in Positano!

When you first walk by it does not look like much but I turned the corner and boom a restaurant. Great people and nice environment. I got the ravioli which was bussin. I would highly recommend. Overall it was a major W.

After a month traveling, I am not ashamed to say that I was craving a little American-resembling food, and Bucca Di Bacco delivered. It was still amazing Italian food but I was able to order chicken, which you just don't find on the menu that often! So when I saw the chicken parmigiana, I ordered. I added a Cesar salad, and it was SO GOOD. My husband found his only vegan option (pasta pomodoro with french fries, bless his heart) and we were all truly happy! Going to the restroom was fun- apparently this was a fancy restaurant and I didn't know it...they have photos of all the celebrities that have visited this restaurant since the 50-60's. It's right next to the beach, so it must have amazing views, I just visited at night. Anyway- reasonable prices in my opinion, good food, vegan options, and amazing ambiance. Win win!

Even though this is a hotel restaurant, my husband and I loved our experience at Buca di Bacco. We got seated near the window and enjoyed our view of the water. We ordered the grilled octopus, fried zucchini flowers, and lobster linguine to share. I was shocked at the grilled octopus--we just came from Athens & Santorini, and this was the most tender octopus we had! I loved the pairing with burrata too. The fried zucchini flowers were light and delicious. I love the ricotta, and who can resist fried food? The lobster linguine was out of this world!!! The flavor was on point, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. They even split the plate for us because they knew we were sharing. Service was very friendly. We ate at around 6:45pm and by the time we left around 8pm, the place was packed. Make reservations!

From the outside it looks like a great place to eat but the octopus was slimy. One of the worst octopus I've ever had. My daughter usually eats all of the food but this time she ate less than half of the spaghetti. My son only ate the French fries and the chicken was very cheesy and he didn't like it. The steak was also kind of mushy and had a lot of extra salt. The lemon risotto nothing special, I think that even I can make it. Lastly, the calamari was very bland and I have tasted way better calamari. Overall I would give it 2 stars.
Be the first to ReplyWas able to get a seat right away as a walk in on a Monday.
Got seated right by the window overlooking the ocean/Positano, fantastic view! We started with the fried calamari and shrimp, well seasoned and crispy but not oily. My wife got the seafood risotto, this was delicious. Jam packed full of seafood in every bite. I opted to keep it kinda light and got the meatballs with red sauce. Everything was pretty tasty and service was great.

5 stars for the hotel, 4 stars for the restaurant! There is a lot to like about the restaurant attached to the Buca di Bacco hotel.First off, the location cannot be beat. It's very close to the beach and their view and ambiance is very pleasant. It's also one of the few places that will let you sit with out a reservation. The menu has some gems on it, but it's typical Amalfi coast Italian fare. You won't find pizza or paninis, but they have some nice seafood, meat, and pasta options. We really liked the octopus and burrata and the lemon risotto with red shrimp. Both very solid dishes that were better than expected based on other reviews. This wasn't the best meal we had is Positano, but a really solid dinner we were happy to enjoy on our first night in Italy.
Be the first to ReplyBuca di Bacco is a fantastic restaurant in Positano.
We made reservations for the patio and the view is amazing! Started off with a meat and cheese plate with San Daniele prosciutto, very good. I got the seafood pasta, was one of my favorite meals ever. Pasta was homemade and seafood was delicious. My wife got the lobster pasta, can't go wrong here, was great! We finished our meal off with tiramisu and limoncellos. This was one of our favorite places in Positano and Italy!

Amazing! Had the seafood pasta and it was AMAZING! It was mainly seafood, which was great because in the US, we get mostly pasta and very little seafood. My husband had the lemon risotto and that was amazing as well. We had lunch there as well, spaghetti and meatballs, so delicious and fresh! We stayed at the hotel and had their amazing breakfast Buffett. So fresh and the view made it better! The view, the service, the quality and taste of the food.. all excellent! Hope to go back!
Be the first to ReplyThis is an excellent choice.
We attended the cooking class and had an amazing time. The team of chefs were fantastic; enthusiastic, entertaining, and knowledgeable. You prepare several dishes. Our class included eggplant, gnocchi w/pesto, pizza, and a chocolate citrus cake. The meal is then served to you in the adjoining restaurant. At the end you are given a gnocchi board, cookbook, etc. Oh and wine throughout the class. My daughter and I loved this experience and highly recommend it!! It really was one of the highlights of our trip. Enjoy
Be the first to ReplyWhile the ambience was wonderful, the food itself was not.
Having just come from some of the most delicious restaurants Rome has to offer, we were so disappointed in this meal. Nothing seemed fresh. We felt like we were eating old reheated food. Sad first meal in Positano. Hoping day two brings better food.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful spot right next to the beach.
We came here on our first day and had the ravioli and seafood pasta. Both were excellent. The seafood dish was loaded up with goodies and everything was super fresh. Service was also great. No pressure to order more than we needed which is not so common in positano.
Be the first to ReplyGreat view and service.
Good food for the price point. Yummy fried ravioli. Quiet, relaxing environment.

Nice parmigiana and French fries sitting in the outdoor dining room with great views of the beach and port. Toilets clean, service was great and comfortable surroundings.

I can't review the dining experience but I can tell you that you must try out the cooking class. So much fun while drinking champagne. Staff made it fun and took many photos. We made a chocolate cake, eggplant parm, pesto gnocchi, and pizza.
