I get sketchy vibes from this place.
Lot's of very young people working here and overall odd things. It also smelled like sewage there.

Love this place and have been coming here for many years now. Food has never disappointed, whether it's been dine-in or a DoorDash delivery. Everything is always fresh, high-quality, and well packaged. Sushi is some of the best in town and their tapas dishes are great too. For being such a basic order, their spicy tuna roll is fantastic! I Recently visited for lunch for the first time in a while, service was friendly, attentive, and fast, even though they were quite busy. Prices even better, the lunch special bento is $10! Really recommend Buddha Lounge whether it's for a casual lunch or a special occasion.

Lunch with 4 people Atmospher was good, no loud music!!! Service was excellent, took a little for long food to be served. All 4 ordered Bento boxes with sushi, korean taco and curry. All were excellent, only complaint was the korean taco and salad were overly sweet

We wanted to enjoy our ordered food as others have but it just wasn't good. The sushi items were mostly rice and tasteless. The Gyozo was good enough but that was it. Other items were flat tasting and far too battered to have any taste. Having used Yelp to choose, we are disappointed that we were not pointed in the right direction.

We thought we would try a new Asian fusion type restaurant while in Lexington running errands and Buddha did not disappoint! The bento boxes are amazing. I got the one with three different choices and my husband had the Thai Pagang curry. It was the perfect amount of food for lunch very fast service, and a cool little atmosphere!
Be the first to ReplyIt was just ok.
The tempura shrimp was perfect. The rice served with the bento was was very dry-impossible to eat with chopsticks. Vegetable gyoza had good flavor but temp was off. The California roll was made with krab salad-and was just meh.

I don't know if we caught them on an off night but we did not have the best experience at Buddha Lounge. It was very busy - within the few blocks of Rupp Arena, so definitely something to consider if there is an event going on there and you are not familiar with the area (we are not). We were seated without a reservation for 2, which was lucky, but I think because they were so busy and we saw them having to turn people away later on throughout the meal, it made it hard to hear and order/felt like they were rushing to get us out. I got nigiri and supreme rainbow roll and unfortunately it did not taste the most fresh. I am also spoiled being in the Cincinnati area most of the time where there are several 1/2 price sushi places, so in comparison to that and with lower quality, these rolls and sushi felt overpriced. Again, maybe we caught them on a super busy off night, but I would not plan on returning here on future trips to Lexington.
Be the first to ReplyIt was alright.
They got me fed and the food taste was about average. Very kind service however and a plus for going here for food. The sushi was heavy on the rice which makes it hard to eat in 1 bite - which for me is a must when it comes to sushi rolls. We had the Dragon roll and the Kim bap roll. My friend also got the Korean tacos which she said were tasty.

But this year we went early New Year's Eve. Most delicious sushi/sashimi I've had in a long time. Been dying to go back. We tried a week ago and it was mobbed. Big events downtown. So we are going this week. Craving fluke sashimi and soft shell crab. I ordered sweet shrimp and they brought out crispy shrimp heads. Yum!!!

Kind of an hilarious conversation about it having been advertised online yet never being "intended" by the owners. They are gruff at best in terms of Customer Service. Frugal is maybe a more polite way to describe their Servers, all seem to be family, and so they demonstrate the non-chalant dynamic of being immune to complaints. They remind me of the sort of establishment that applauds you not making use of the provided napkin or pickled ginger (sitting out for hours?) so that they can reuse them with someone else. This may be due to cultural differences, the economy? I'm uncertain and not entirely judgmental about it. However, I still enjoy this gem. It feels more like traveling and the culture shock inherent. They've got an impressive number of bourbons, and their sushi (the mainstay) is fine. Also, I appreciate them serving in the afternoon! Lexington is a food desert from 2pm-5pm, and restos are bendy with their hours these post-pandemy days. Not the Buddha! That alone grants them a Star, for showing up is half of the battle. The sushi rolls are good though a tad overpriced (basically status quo for Lexington).
