How 5 starts ever happened ?
I am not sure how this restaurant ever get the five star review first of all it’s very dirty so I can just imagine the back rooms.::. I’m not sure if the owner is around to see how the employees don’t care about anything , we don’t smile , we don’t greed, we don’t clean ( dirty all over ) we don’t express any warmness at all ( none of them ) But the most important the food ..well there either wasn’t any smile the sandwiches had 2 mini slices of meat ( Ruben ) the bread was good ( come from another place very nice ) and we sat outdoor with our meatless sandwiches we combine our 2 mini slices of meat in half bread slice so we could feel some meat . The coffee was very good 👍 bravo for this . So it was one and only time I’ll sit on this terrible dirty patio ( same all over in or out ) I can’t understand how they make it and can operate with no care at all in this place . Yack no

Bull & Bean used to be a delightfully consistent place to grab a good breakfast. Times have changed. It is almost as if the are under completely new management. Service was once exceptional. Food was exceptional. It has always been expensive, but the prices are the only thing remaining. You would think a nearly 50 dollar breakfast for two would be memorable. And breakfast this morning was indeed memorable, but not for any of the right reasons. That exorbitant price bought one cup of coffee with no refills, four slices of bacon, two slices of semi-toasted bread, a small patty of hash browns, three poached eggs, four fried eggs, and a reasonable bowl of completely unseasoned grits. While the price was high, we would have paid it gladly for the experience at Bull & Bean that we’ve enjoyed in the past. But the service and product this time was excruciatingly disappointing. First, the cashier felt the need to mention that extra eggs incur an upcharge… well, of course. And then, I ordered the fried eggs slightly soft/runny. The cashier had no problem entering that request, but then someone came to the table to say that they could only do over-easy, over-medium, or fried hard—WTF? I got one small cup of decent coffee for nearly 3 bucks. They sell the illusion of a bottomless cup, but I went back several times, only to find no coffee. The experience was quite a disappointment. Bull & Bean won’t be high on our list for breakfast or brunch in the future. It’s a shame. It really used to be worth its inflated price tag—but no more!
Be the first to ReplyLovely brunch food.
Lovely brunch food. Salads were fresh and the options are great. I did not enjoy the crab cakes on the crab cake salad, but the salad itself was nice. The pulled pork hash brown bowl with eggs was reportedly very good as well as my husbands quinoa salad. We would return.

The Bull and Bean is a nice change of pace for our family. In July they had a patriotic French Toast that had fresh whipped cream, blueberries, and raspberries. Yumm. I've also had some of the avocado toasts - so filling I don't need to eat lunch later. Then I've stopped in for coffees, and even had a special mommy and daughter morning where I got my young daughter a lemon muffin. She can't wait to go back again. My husband and I've gone alone which is always a treat, but we've also taken our kids and they've been happy with the selection.

This place seems to have rebranded as Bull and Bean Cafe, though doesn't look like anything has changed. Website redirects to the Bull and Bean site, and the menu looks to be the same. Plenty of breakfast and brunch options, and a fair number of sandwiches and lunch offerings. You order at the front register and then can find a table and eat there inside, head to one of the outdoor tables, or just wait for your order and take off with it. I opted for the club sandwich, which was really quite good. A healthy helping of bacon, avocado, tomato, cucumber, lettuce, and some pickled red onion. Different but delicious. Will definitely be back here to try more of their stuff!

Note that this establishment is now called Bull and Bean. I believe it was bought ought by the current owner. We came here a long time ago, and it was a hybrid market and cafe. The emphasis is definitely on the cafe now. We had read good things about their breakfast and stopped in after church on a Sunday. It was mid-morning and there was a lively crowd there. You order at the counter and they'll bring you your food. My breakfast burrito was delicious and filling, and my orange juice was very fresh. My wife enjoyed her veggie hash browns. I don't know how their lunch or dinner offerings are, but their breakfast is very nice. Prices were reasonable as well.

New name of the place is Bull and Bean. Met a friend there for brunch. You order at the counter and then find a place to sit which can be tricky if they're busy. They do have a large table in the back where you can sit and meet other people. Had the Avocado Toast which was delicious and the Smoothie with peanut butter and Nutella - Yum! My friend had an omelette and said it was good.

This is a cute little cafe by the Post Office. They serve breakfast all day. The sandwich I had (Turkey and Brie) was delicious. I’m glad you can choose to have your sandwich on a croissant from Guglhupf Bakery. Yum! My latte was also tasty.

Many hours into real estate shopping, we needed a little pick-me-up, and so did our real. Bingo! Just the spot. Avocado toast, eggs Benedict and perfect coffee put us all back together again. Next time, I want to try their shrimp & grits. We will be back soon!

Extra delicious and healthy brunch. My wife loved her tasty vegan hash browns and I loved my brown rice veggie bowl with poached eggs. Filling, healthy and so good. This neighborhood cafe / market is comfy and no frills. Highly
recommend.
Great for families, guests, and solo
Upscale yet relaxed atmosphere you can find traditional diner and deli food here as well as gourmet dishes. They bake the best coconut cake ever using a Charleston SC recipe; it truly reminds me of growing up in York SC, my home. I love their avocado toast.
