Buttermilk Channel Reviews from The Last Year
Great little brunch spot! My food was very good.
Nice service. They take reservations:)
We were in town and found this restaurant after visiting
We were in town and found this restaurant after visiting the Brooklyn Library. We were pleased with the food and service. We also had mimosas and an espresso martini which was great. We made a reservation and was immediately sat with no wait when we arrived. I would've liked to see them cater to a more diverse crowd. Lacked a bit in diversity regarding patrons but I don't know if that's the restaurant's fault. We were the only minority there when we went. Overall we enjoyed our visit here.

Great food, was really quick service and the staff were super friendly. We went in as soon as it opened without a reservation, and were seated right away.
Had brunch last Saturday.
The place was crowded but luckily we had a reservation to sit outside, and it was a perfect no-jacket sunny day, plus it seemed very loud inside the restaurant. The host was very friendly, and the waiter was quick and professional. We started with the buttermilk biscuits and we ordered a burger, an egg scramble and the pecan french toast. Everything was delicious. We especially liked the french fries that came with the burger, and the french toast was huge in terms of serving size. This is a great place to have brunch.
My favorite place .
The best pancakes, waffle and my favorite British biscuits... love it
Brooklyn just keeps trying to outdo itself with all these
Brooklyn just keeps trying to outdo itself with all these brunch spots, most of which are similar in nature with subtle changes to each restaurant's menu. Talk about cozy! This is a tight spot with only 20 tables, all white tablecloth, a hoity-toity bar off to the side, with another 10 tables outside. When it is a beautiful day, expect a bit of a wait. As for me, to the bar I go, taking my cue to exit stage left towards it. It does not take long for me to know what I want. A sticky bun, some pancakes, and of course, some fried chicken and a cheddar waffle. Yes sir, of course sir, and the order is placed as I wait not too long for item #1 to arrive. The sticky bun is oooey-gooey and has a nice sweet note. It is small, but not too small. Not like the ones you would receive at a Hampton Inn. It has a bit of a crunch as well, but overall not a bad deal, especially for the kids. Items #2 and #3 come not long after, so my stomach has little time to adjust to the new sensations. I try the Fried Chicken and Waffle first. The chicken has a nice fry to it, definitely has a buttermilk dredge to it because of the sour notes I picked up on. It is a dark piece of meat, but has good flavor. A little fatty and a very juicy bird, but it works well because the waffle is soft and cakey. The cheddar comes through subtly and contrasts nicely with the chicken. The side salad is great as a sidekick to the dish. I went for the pancakes last. Would it be a mistake? If you mean that they are massive, yes. Otherwise, they are three plate sized pancakes that are light, fluffy, and delicious. Like the chicken, these were made with a buttermilk starter as I can taste a bit of sour in the pancakes. They come with a dusting of powdered sugar and not much else. Some fruit would have been nice, but I will take what I can get. The pancakes should not be overlooked when looking for a safe item for anybody of any age. After my meal was over, I made sure to walk this off by taking the hard way all the way up to the platform of Smith-9th Street on the F/G train. It is the tallest elevated station in the system, and doing that would definitely burn some of this off. Get here early on a weekend and enjoy your brunch at Buttermilk Channel.
Crazy expensive, but the food is excellent and the service
Crazy expensive, but the food is excellent and the service is professional, I just can't get over how expensive it was
Had brunch here this morning.
The short rib hash and eggs Huntington were absolutely delicious. Every plate that passed by looked unbelievable so we will be going back for the pancakes and fried chicken! It was packed so I recommend trying to get a reservation. We lucked out because someone cancelled.

A rare gem that's not too casual/not too fancy and has delicious food I went here on a double date on a weeknight and it was full but cozy. The place is spacious enough and we could hear each other well To be honest, I can't remember exactly what we ordered but it was all delicious. I think there was only one vegetarian entree option and I really enjoyed it. Two people got the chicken and waffles which they both said was perfection. One person got some meat or lamb dish that was not a very big portion but tasty. This is a lovely neighborhood spot for a meal any time of the day. I'll be back for brunch!
We all know this neighborhood staple.
If you can get a table for brunch, the options are classic and the food is good. I think it's a good spot if you want a more classy experience, but we bring our kids and they love it. There is usually a wait and as they're busy it take a bit of time for food to come out. But overall we always enjoy eating here
Marathon Sunday Brunch
Haven’t been back in many years, got seated right away towards the back right wall. Wasn’t as loud as it was in the front. Daughter had pancakes and bacon, wife had the burger and I had the short rib hash with eggs, toast and salad. The hash was more in chunks than chopped up and the potatoes were a little scarce. Service was good and the Bloody Mary’s could’ve been spicier. Hope to be back soon.

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

When it says working on bid, it means there are people looking to fill it.
