Voco needs to improve their guest experience.
There are some really good things about Voco – the Cadence in Niagara Falls NY. It is a small, recently remade hotel, a short walk from Niagara Falls on the NY side. The rooms newly remade and well furnished. The hotel also seemed to make an effort to be environmentally responsible – no water in plastic bottles, rather a really impressive water filter/dispenser on each floor and reusable bottles in each room. However, there were a number of surprises that might make guests a little grumpy. • Service in the breakfast restaurant was appalling. It took for ever for our breakfast to come and when it did it was cold (had it just been sitting ready to go in the kitchen?). The waitress was utterly inattentive, and when you were able to get her attention she was slow and unenthusiastic in her response. And it was not that she was run off her feet – there was just a father and son at another table. Maybe it was the earbud in her ear and her mind was wandering? Serving coffee, she brought the coffee to you in a full cup, gripping the lip of the cup in her hand (a little off-putting). And even though we had paid for our breakfasts in advance included in the room rate, she insisted we would have to pay extra if we wanted a second cup. • The rooms had a coffee maker and what looked like very nice Illy coffee. However, there was no milk/cream or even coffee whitener provided, nothing in the small fridge either. • Despite all the brand new fixtures in the bathroom, the toilet seat was fixed askew so that when you sat on it you found yourself also sitting on the bare porcelain of the bowl. • And finally, the check-in. There was an awful long wait as the one receptionist and the manager sorted out some complication with the guest ahead of us. After she had made her contribution to solving this problem, it would have been nice if the manager had opened a second station on the reception to serve the considerable line that had grown while they had struggled with the initial guest check-in. And when I did finally get to the checkin counter, the receptionist was very sceptical that our reservation had been with breakfast included – even though it was clearly stated in the reservation confirmation email from IHG. The receptionist did have a cheery manner, but after the long wait and the challenge on the breakfast inclusion, it was difficult to reciprocate her cheeriness.
Be the first to ReplyConvenient & Unique
We stayed on a visit to see Niagara Falls. It’s so close to American Falls, the visitor’s center and Maid of the Mist. We walked to the falls our first night to watch fireworks. Their outdoor patio is so inviting, and we enjoyed a live jazz combo playing. The room was lovely. Recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyAesthetically pleasing.
Upon walking into the hotel I was very impressed; modern, sleek, & unique are all words I would use to describe the atmosphere. At check in you’re greeted by a friendly face and a beer voucher for the bar attached to the hotel. The room is not as large as the photos make it seem but the bed was extremely comfortable & the jet tub was amazing. I do suggest you bring your own body wash, shampoo, conditioner, & even toilet paper when staying here because what they provide you with is subpar. The barn door on the bathroom is a bit off putting if you like having privacy when using the loo. The location is ideal because it’s within walking distance to a couple bars (right across the street), restaurants (9 min walk), the falls (10 min walk), & the casino (5 min walk). We did speak with some locals and it does seem it’s one road over from an unsafe part of town so be aware of your surroundings when walking around. We went down to Sēvā to use our beer vouchers, while we sat at the bar the bartender was unprofessional when addressing a Doordasher making for an awkward situation for the 5 customers that were seated. But nonetheless we enjoyed sipping our free flight of beers and had warm soft pretzels with beer cheese *Yum* before heading over to the casino. Overall it was a good stay for the very reasonable price we paid.
Be the first to ReplyHampton in would be just as good and less expensive. Plus they have CLOSETS
Just not good and horrible value. Restaurant closes at 12, reopens at 5. No food on the premises during that break, no room service. No closets. They have pegs on which you’re supposed to hang garments; however, no hangers or notches in pegs. The exposed clothing makes the room always look cluttered and messy. Plus the cloths constantly fall off the pegs. There is a huge eyesore of a tub in the so-called king suite. That area could be better purposed for seating. Rip out the tub! It also looks dated. The bedspread is dingy. They don’t have coffee creamer in room; you have to request. No mirrors in the bedroom. No shelf in the shower to hold toiletries, soap. The room is all gray. No bottled water. Instead there is a refillable bottle, which might be environmentally sustainable, and I get that, but it didn’t look clean. I booked the room a month ago. Upon check in I asked for a higher floor, and they said they were sold out. Don’t stay in room 201. It’s one flight above the restaurant, which can be loud if a party is going one

Most important is that they had exchange students while I was there, the one I talked to was from Lithuania, she may not have been the thief, but someone from VOCO The Cadence stole my cc info & sold it to another in Bulgaria (Bulgaria & time of fraud charges confirmed). As for the room, there was no closet nor anyway to hang clothes, this is a real bummer if you do any of the "wet" activities to see Niagara Falls, you won't be able to hang anything up to dry. The "mini store" at the hotel was dorely lacking for most things any traveler would want (you'll need to walk about .25 miles to 7-Eleven to get any cokes/beers, insect repellent, aspirin, etc, that you want for the room). As with most restaurants & pubs in the area, it's all open doors/open windows = A LOT of gnats, fruit flies, flies & bees. If you happen to be a preferred member of IHG, they will give you a tiny bag of stale popcorn mixed with a few shreds of butterscotch candy.
Be the first to ReplyFor the price look elsewhere
We arrived at 350pm (official check in at 4) and asked if our two rooms were ready. The front desk person went to check and was gone for an easy ten mins, while we were waiting at the reception area with our kids. They came back and told us one room was ready and one was not, it was now 4pm so we should’ve been able to check in. We asked for free breakfast since the room wasn’t ready and the front desk person said since it’s just barely after 4pm (room wasn’t ready though) they won’t do that. My parents checked into their room and I parked the car with the kids. When we came back they found a different room for us. Even without that, for the price, I think you can find a better hotel. It is clean but the bathroom has a barn door on it that doesn’t block sounds especially the loud toilet flushes and also the door doesn’t block light since it has frosted glass on the door. So if you have kids and want them to sleep this isn’t the room for you. If this place was in the mid $100’s per night then it would be fine, but definitely not worth it for mid $200’s.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Place
A very good place to stay while in the Niagara Falls. Everything is just walking distance from here. Good clean and spacious rooms. They have a restaurant in their premises which is an added advantage. Lots of other Indian food options, again just walking distance from here.
Be the first to ReplyClean and meets basic hotel needs
It met out basic hotel needs for our one night stay. The room and hotel was clean. Bathroom was spotless and newer. Not much of a view or anything, but we were on the go mostly so that didn't matter to us. Staff was very pleasant. We really just needed a hotel to sleep as we were doing activities visiting Niagara. The attached restaurant had good food, drinks and a live band which was a great way to end the night.
Be the first to ReplyNot just unclean, but filthy.
A cheaply put together motel in a decent location. Bring ear plugs: the doors and walls are paper thin, the bathroom doors are a foolish deign that limits any privacy. A deck with no chairs for seating. Why? VERY apparent that no one bothers to clean common areas despite desk clerks with time on their hands especially after midnight. Rooms seemingly had clean sheets but the debris left over by previous guests (or maybe the guests before them) didn't leave much to the imagination. Place needs the bulk of it's staff removed and replaced with cleaners that actually gives a damn.

Hotel very nice, reasonably priced. Friends who went with us were told over phone that breakfast was included if renovations were done and if it wasn't open, we'd get a voucher for breakfast at a restaurant around the corner. Sega, hotel restaurant was open so we went there to eat, we asked if breakfast was included as we were hotel guests and were told no. Our friend went to front desk where they also told him no. Breakfast was just "ok". Lionaise potatoes were thin hard chips. Refills were $3 for coffee or tea. I've never been to a restaurant where there's no free refills on coffee or tea. Needless to say we ate at restaurant called Spot. It was wonderful! I'm a tea liver and their tea was great, make their own tea bags and gave me a cup to go, "on the house". I will say everyone super nice at hotel and man at Spot was really great. Cave of Winds not worth $19, we saw just as much walking around. Too many steps!
Be the first to ReplyWalking distance to the Falls
Proximity to the falls is ideal, very walkable. Modern, very clean, well kept, good value for the location (all hotels in Niagara Falls are over priced, which is why we gave 4 stars - value good but not great). Service was excellent, with special thanks to Becki!
Be the first to ReplySeva the restaurant!!
Though we did not stay at the hotel, we ate at the restaurant 3 out of the 5 nights we were in Niagara Falls. The food is amazing and only made better by the absolute fantastic staff. From the hostess to the waiter to any staff member we meet. All amazing and friendly. Live music was great and the pool table was an added bonus. My 10 yr old son was super comfortable there and they do have a kids menu but if your kid is a good eater pretty much anything on the menu was great. Thank you for saving the day!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing
So, me and my boyfriend stayed at The Cadence for two nights at the end of June. After 7 hour drive from NYC, we were excited to go to bed and expected our room to be clean. When we got to the room (12 am approximately) there were lots of flies, bugs, and mosquitoes on the ceilings and inside the nightstand lamps. And some food was left over in the fridge too. After an hour wait from the management around 1 am, they switched us to another room, which was just fine. But the next day, we were told that we will get another room, but it turned out to be the same bugs infested room. After some hustle with management, they switched us again to another room which was clean. The whole experience at this hotel was unpleasant, confusing and tiring. Hotel is new, but management and housekeeping doesn’t do a good job. Also it is overpriced, no breakfast offered and the cafe on the site is not always open. Waste of money and time. Very disappointing experience.
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for families
Modern decor, clean. An excellent surprise for the price over the busy 4th of July weekend. We enjoyed the live music from our room and the patio looked very inviting and we regretted not taking advantage of the social scene. The Falls are in walking distance. Parking was included. The microwave and mini frig ended up being very handy for our family of four with leftovers to snack on.
Be the first to ReplySpontaneous trip with kids-THE FLOORS ARE PAPER THIN
When we pulled up we were SO PUMPED to stay here! The outside is beautiful. The inside is decent but poor choice in wallpaper. They have smelly fruity things in the air vent of lobby that were REALLY strong (hope you’re not asthmatic!) .
Once up to room we were really pleased! Beautiful plus a balcony but no furniture to sit on balcony. The room smelled new.
The bummers came as we laid in bed-I could hear the loud conversation from the room above. Thin floors. Then I could hear the conversation from the people in the hallway loud and clear as though the door was open. Thin doors and walls.
! . Holy crap. Does this place even meet code with wall thickness !
The bathroom is a sliding barn door. You can hear EVERYTHING bc there’s a 2-3 inch gap around the whole thing but whatever I’m with my kids so who cares. But I’d be embarrassed ifiwss here with a boyfriend or something. But it does have a bathroom fan! That’s a plus.
Before even sitting on the toilet for our first breaking in the toilet session, I discovered poop on the side of the toilet paper roll from an earlier guest. Lovely. The chest and pubic hairs in the corners were another amazing touch seeing as how we JUST got here and they weren’t mine. Probably having hard time finding good helpers here
However…..
The beds are clean thankfully.
Laying in bed there is a noise from another room that sounds like a washing machine. LOUD. lasted a half hour.
TIP FOR ALL: I was able to turn the fan on the heater on to muffle it a touch.
The area is slummy outside so be careful if walking. We chose to drive everywhere.
many boarded up homes surrounding this place so we drove everywhere. Ate At an Indian place that was tasty around the corner. Went to movie theater afterwards that was ten min away which was nice.
Going home tomorrow and if I came back I’d try either on Canada side or at the casino or Hampton or Hilton on this side.
Prob Won’t be back to this place The tissue paper thin walls and floors are too much of a deterrent plus I don’t like pre used toilet paper.
Let me say that they front staff were very kind.
They are going to have a connected restaurant open soon which looks nice. The place is new and smells clean just bring a noise machine and maybe disinfectant wipes lol
I’ve stayed in worse places for sure I just don’t like that thin of walls.
Good for a short stay.
Staff was great, especially the front desk night shift ladies. I enjoyed talking with them. They were very helpful with advising what restaurants were good since the ones closest to the hotel were not good (except for Power City Eatery-YUM!). The hotel is clean and newly remodeled with beautiful modern decor. There were a few things missing from the room that would’ve made things better like a closet, a bench/shelf in the shower, not much water pressure with the rainfall shower head, a second chair would’ve been nice with a small table, and a comfortable mattress. But it was a quiet hotel and quite soundproof which was great since we were in room 201 next to the stairs.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect place to park your car and walk everywhere
we stayed 2 nights, great for walking to any part of the falls. the SPOT café is okay, they are a bit pricey for 2 cups coffee and 2 tasteless croissants, notice the cadence sends their guests there. the room was perfect, clean, all you need at night. there is a sports bar directly across the street. the only reason i gave 4 stars is that I received an email bill for a tourist destination fee of 14.95 for both days. I was never told when we checked in nor when i went thru tripadvisor to book the room. i looked it up and it is bascially a scam for hotels to say they offer you amenities. i had taken a bottle of water from the lobby our first night and the front girl was not at the desk when we returned so next morning i told the new girl and she said to me that for my honesty she wouldnt charge it to my room, well i guess i paid 29.90 for a bottle of water. I also looked it up on Google to see wth a tourist fee was thinking she had charged us just to tell us which way the falls were, other than that it was a great stay.
Be the first to ReplyNice Stay, Walk to everything
We stayed one night in a Bubble tub room. The hotel is very nicely decorated and looks high end and fancy. Our room was small, but certainly had everything we needed for one night. The bed was comfortable. The tub was awesome, expect it to take a while to fill up, but it is worth it. The room could have been a little cleaner, cob web was on a bedside lamp and soap scum on the bottom of the shower glass. There is a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. The coffee maker is a pod type, but not Kuerig brand. I used it to make tea and it sprayed hot water all over the counter as it filled the cup. I got my cup filled but it made a mess. Walked to the casino, the falls and ate at the bar across the street. For a couples trip, I would stay here again, with our 2 kids, I feel the room would be too small and would stay elsewhere. The staff was friendly and attentive.
Be the first to ReplyWhy are you at Niagra Falls?
So this hotel has an excellent location walking distance to the falls and all tourist attractions, it has ample safe parking, the staff are friendly and upbeat, yes ots an old hotel which has had a refit and because of that there is ongoing work. The rooms are brand new, modern, clean and large (level 1 rooms). Beds are comfortable, bathroom spacious and all in room amenities you need like fridge, microwave and very large TV. Ice available too and a few food and beverages by reception. OK there is no pool, spa, gym or restaurant but it doesn't say it has those things. Construction is evident that a tapas bar and restaurant will land soon. Ticks all my boxes! Only issue i had was $250 card deposit authorisation is extortionate and after travelling across the country and staying in excellent hotels not having to put a bond this much down ever seemed strange. It is not disclosed specifically when booking either. I get the hotel is new but I think interstate travellers will be put off.
Be the first to ReplyClose to the falls
Rooms were clean with all the necessities, plus the area seemed very safe The hotel was within a 10 minute leisure walk to the Falls. Parking your vehicle there was very helpful since parking is so limited. Once we checked in, we never had to move our car. Being healthy enough to walk is good since restaurants and coffee shops are not attached. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Be the first to ReplyKeep your expectations low
I had high hopes for this hotel even with the mixed reviews on Expedia and booking sites. First off, the front lobby I can’t tell if it’s under construction or if that’s it. For the rooms, the windows are dirty, finger prints are everywhere, and currently there’s a hard made cobweb hanging by the bed light by my head as I type this, proving that this spider is the hardest working entity on the premises.
He, they need to give a raise.
Bottom line is if you’re used to a Hampton Inn quality (clean rooms, 24 hour great coffee, free breakfast) this is not it. No coffee in lobby, no breakfast, but hey, there are some really cool cobwebs you can view as art, so they do check the boxe for cultural enrichment.
Sorry if this is sarcastic. I’m laying here with a 1000% regret 😞.
Perfect spot to down town Niagara Falls
We checked in on their 1st day to open.. great check in process and our room is modern, kinda smaller than ur normal hotel room but it was perfect for us..parking was included in our pric $499 for one night.but it’s beautiful inside and can park and walk everywhere..
so we were told there was no coffee in rooms but we noticed what we thought was a Kerig. So we bought some kcups in the morning we found out it wasn’t a kerig was so disappointed, but the girls told us about an awesome coffee shop “ The Spot” a block away has food as well...
Also no sheet on the bed which we though was odd..
Hotel is def nice and we understand things can go wrong 1st couple days of being open..there was some damage to our bed frame I took to front desk since it was suppose to be brand new “ sub contractors being careless”
Shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash had big bottles in shower ( no tub) in our room also had a robe for use ( we didn’t use) hair drier, no closest but plenty of drawers to put things in.. instead has like hooks ( reminded me of a rock climbing wall)
This place is down town and can walk to anything u need... what I loved about this hotel as well..
Also has plenty of plug in spots and usb in the clock and by the coffee machine area that has a night light..
