This place is a gem! My husband and I were in Rome for 5 days and we planned to eat everywhere but we fell in love at first, second, third and fourth bite! We did eat elsewhere for several meals but we ended up eating here 4 times during our trip! The staff greeted us like we were regulars! I guess we were for a short time. Lol! Anyway the vegetable platter was AMAZING and huge! The sausage pizza (I believe it was called rústica) was absolute fire! The deliciousness cannot be put into words. The fresh flavors were so perfect together! The bruschetta Trio, just wow! The lasagna was tasty. The olives were so good! America just doesn't have this type of freshness. Our tastebuds were dancing on cloud nine! When we visit Italy again, we will certainly make a special stop to come here at least once! Oh and it's looks very nice and clean inside.
Be the first to ReplyValentina took very good care of us on a very busy evening.
Had 2 glasses of Chianti, Napoli pizza plus squid. Did not disappoint for flavor and taste plus arrived very quickly to table. Very pleasant atmosphere even at the table at the entrance. I rehearsed there's a line.

After 2 failed attempts to visit for dinner LAL (long @$$ line), we visited for lunch and were able to snag a table early. Filled up by the time we were done. Such a delightful little spot! Charm galore. But that's not why you should go. Go for the good. Solid, well priced, and delicious. Classics reign supreme.

Incredibly, the food tasted very much to my palate. Favorite thing about this restaurant is the ambience and service.

Food here is amazing! Walked here from our hotel on our second day based on GREAT Yelp reviews and it was excellent came back two more times even tho it was a pretty lengthy walk. A lot of places show open in afternoons but are not - C e C is open through the afternoon and that is a good time to come as evening there will probably be a line. The atmosphere is pure Rome - small tables squeezed together but you will meet some nice new friends and see what they ordered! We for one of the pizzas the first night - amazing. Cannot remember the name but Calabrisi is close. The salad was excellent too. Next trip we got Lasagna and Carbonara (- little different because it had artichoke hearts but I really liked it). Third trip was another Carbonara and spaghetti with meatballs. And we also tried their Tiramisu - it is a short one (one layer) but large piece and great for two to share. Staff is busy but super nice especially when they recognize your return visits. Loved this place - will dream about it back home!
Be the first to ReplyFood is good but the service is questionable.
I asked in Italian for carafe of table water and was told they only had bottles while others received the carafes from the bar. I was there a week prior to my visit and I paid a completely different price this time for the exact same thing!
Be the first to ReplyAmazing restaurant in the middle of the Rome city center.
The prices are right and the food is amazing. The pasta with parmesan cheese and pepper was delicious as was the pizza. The service was great and we did not have to wait too long for a table. Convenient, cheap and delicious. It is a win win!

This was a hidden gem that I sought out based on the reviews. The staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating! We ordered the Roman artichokes, focaccia bread, vegetarian pizza and sausage and cheese pizza. WOW! One of the best pizzas I had all week and I sampled a lot! The food and ambiance were amazing! Don't hesitate, go!!!! You'll love this place!!
Be the first to ReplyCrowded and noisy, the food was expectantly good.
We had the salmon salad, margherita pizza, and pasta bolognese. Good all around. Fresh salmon & arugula, the bolognese was meaty, and the pizza had a crispy bottom, just right.

This restaurant recommendation came from a chef in Tuscany & boy was he right! This was the best meal in Italy we had during our whole stay.
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food, terrific service.
Always a huge line to get in this place, so we were happy to get in.
Be the first to ReplyHonestly, I'm baffled by all these highly rated reviews.
Either we (party of 3) ate here on an off night or we're just the minority that isn't drinking the tourist kool aid. We came here due to the high reviews and line outside the door. Myself, wife and brother agreed this place shouldn't be rated this highly. Our server was great in getting us seated since we beat the rush. We ordered the Calamari, Meatball Cheese and Pepper and Homemade Pasta with Meatballs. I hadn't decided yet so I asked the waitress what she recommends. This was when things started getting weird. She seemed confused and wasn't sure what to recommend so I narrowed it down and asked what pizza she would recommend, and she hesitated and didn't seem sure and finally said Capricciosa. That hesitation didn't bode well but I said ok, lets get that. Well, here's the food verdict...Calamari: 4.5/5 Very good. Came out hot and crispy. There was only light batter on it to give it a nice crunch but also protect the juiciness of the squid without overpowering with fried batter. The seasoning on it was perfect and calamari was fresh. We devoured very quickly and honestly, it was just one of the best fried calamari I've had. Polpette Cacio E Pepe (Meatball Cheese and Pepper): 2/5 Really nothing special about this dish. The meatball was weak on flavor and relied heavily on the cheese to flavor it. Honestly, it didn't taste any different from any meatball I could get from the restaurants back home. Homemade Pasta and Meatballs: 2/5 Again, nothing to write home about. The homemade pasta was ok and cooked to al dente per normal. The sauce was tomatoey but that's about it. It wasn't really wowing me with great flavor profile that I wouldn't experience anywhere else. Capricciosa Pizza: 2/5 It was saucy in the middle so pointed end dropped from sogginess. The crust was bit hard and the flavor profile was all over the place. I understand that is purposeful as it's origins was essentially use whatever toppings were leftover. But still, it didn't taste like anything I'd remember fondly. My fellow Yelp reviewers can feel free to disagree with me but seriously, not buying this hype based on what we've sampled.

My final night in Rome, I chose this place based on its reviews and it didn't disappoint. The food was excellent - fried artichoke, pasta carbonara and bufalina pizza. The service from Dave matched the meal. He was attentive, charming, funny and took great care of me as a solo diner. I recommend Cantina e Cucina without hesitation.

My go to in Rome, I love the food the atmosphere and the staff. The only downfall I'd having to wait, but they bring you shots so it makes the time go by.

Be the first to ReplyCute restaurant in downtown Rome.
A bit cramped. Waiter's really nice. 4/5 pizza's good but nothing shocking or standing out. Prosciutto kinda do things by itself and I wish it was a bit stronger flavor4/5 pasta carbonara is very creamy and eggy. Porchetta's flavor's really good, just some bits are too hard. They also send some free alcohol drink. Too strong for me but you may like it.

Amazing service and delicious food! The steak and roasted potatoes were delectable, and I would recommend to anyone!
Be the first to ReplyFirst meal in Rome and hands down the best pasta in town
First meal in Rome and hands down the best pasta in town that we had to eat here twice! The meatballs are to die for. Perfectly seasoned and moist. The pasta is the definition of al dente. If you're looking for a nice crust on your pizza, try it out! None of that drooping in the center. The second time we ate here, we ordered their lasagna and vivaldi salad. Although it was our last meal in Rome, I stuffed my face as much as I could.Just an FYI, they do not take reservations!! Go early or be prepared to wait in line. Try not to get run over by any cars going through that narrow road!
Be the first to ReplyGreat ambience and great food.
We ordered the Rustica Pizza it was fantastic. Dessert stole the show though as the Tiramisu was probably the best one I've ever had Pro tip: Since there have been mentions of long lines in the evening, visiting during the afternoon (between 1:30 to 2 maybe a good option as we got a table within a minute)
Be the first to ReplyGreat food.
Authentic traditional food. Not touristy. Great aesthetic. Recommended. Plus nice aperitif.
Be the first to ReplyThis is not an easy review, so bare with me here.
First, the food is pretty good and the place has a definite vibe to it. You also should be prepared to wait on line, but they move people in and out pretty fast (not a plus). On our experience, my wife and myself, and kids ages 16 and 12 gave this place a go after reading awesome reviews. We waited about 30 min and were seated in the back alley, which had a cool feel to it. I think the inside was more festive, but this was ok with us.For apps we ordered the spinach in oil, and the Calamari. For mains we had the Gnochhi and the kids had pizza. The food was all good, but the apps came out the same time as the main, and the service seemed so frantic. To make matters worse the table next to us were chain smoking the entire meal. It was a combo of these not great experiences that superseded the good food. We would come back but would sit inside. To their credit the manager did track us down and apologized.
Be the first to ReplyAfter all the hype, finally went to this place.
I had heard about it as a hole in the wall place however seems like they've created a hype for themselves and are super busy now. We tried their rosemary focaccia bread and it was absolutely delicious. It was crunchy, soft and filled with flavours. The margarita pizza however was just what you'd get anywhere else in Italy. Nothing special about the pizza. The staff is very sweet and helpful, they've got a bit of a struggle understanding my English, but that's okay. Also, I ordered iced tea in the hopes of homemade fresh tea but what came was just a canned iced tea which was disappointing.
