Visited a few weeks ago with some friends as part of NYC, Restaurant Week, Service was good. The food was excellent. Everyone liked the dished ordered, and was satisfied with the portions. I highly recommend! the Gianduja for desert. Delicious!

After multiple recommendations, finally headed to Casa Lever for dinner. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and feels very deco. It's not overly packed and there is a combo of tables and booths. There's also a lovely bar that I definitely will be returning to. Cocktails were delicious and the prawns appetizer with the spicy sauce reduction was *chefs kiss*. Known for their pasta and red sauce, we ordered the Bolognese and the Dover sole with truffles was delicious (though the lovely, well-intentioned waiter who de-boned it did a sub-par job and I would have preferred to do it myself). Will definitely be returning!

For anyone worried about the demise of New York's central business districts, the survival of outdated pretension at Casa Lever clearly indicates that the office culture of East Midtown is well and alive. In the event you don't feel inclined to splurge on one of the $150+ items from their "white truffle menu," the house salads start at $30.

**This review is only for drinks** I met a friend for happy hour on a weekday evening and was surprised she was able to snag an outdoor table given the lovely weather (still almost 80 degrees!) and the crowd. At around 5p, it was quite busy and would likely be a challenge to get a table (again, not sure how she got one!). The drinks and wine list is curated (meaning: small but thoughtful), and I had a lovely Sancerre. The drinks aren't cheap but at least they come with bar snacks (olives and nuts). Service was fast and friendly.
Be the first to ReplyOne can say many things in favor of Casa Lever: great
One can say many things in favor of Casa Lever: great location, nice ambience, good drinks and wine selection, excellent and personable service, and good food. However, that location adds a premium to the price point and I would not recommend Casa Lever if value is what a person is seeking or to the casual tourist. This is a restaurant catering to the banking, legal, and financial crowd nearby, the power luncher and diner. I went there with a friend from college and we very much enjoyed the time and meal there. The drinks were made very well and to our liking. The caprese salad was fresh in every respect, truly delicious. The shrimp special over orzo was good, especially the preparation of the orzo, but power diners would not flinch over the presentation of only a few shrimp. The same goes for the Bolognese, veal sauce over fettuccine. The cooks are paying close attention to the cooking times to achieve the desired al dente. The grated cheese gave it the pop. The well appointed space, lighting and music, artwork, and precise place settings are among the details you will find at Casa Lever. Casa Lever is a place to unwind and enjoy good Italian food with excellent service. There are places up on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx that put Casa Lever in the rearview mirror at half the price with far greater authenticity, but they are up in the Bronx and real estate on this part of Park Avenue is many times greater than that authenticity on Arthur Avenue. In the end, that is what you are paying for at Casa Lever and the bankers and attorneys who power lunch and dine are able to expense or pay it without blinking and so should you if you dine here. Power lunch restaurants place a premium on the location near the offices and excellent unobtrusive service of food that is acceptable and appealing to the palate often focused on business and hosting of clients in an appropriate setting, but not necessarily on the food and certainly not on its value proposition. Three and a half stars.
Be the first to ReplyThe best power meal spot for business meetings! Have had
The best power meal spot for business meetings! Have had many amazing meals here. V excited they opened breakfast service recently - a bit shocking their potatoes were too darn salty and poached egg was neither runny and way too sour with excess vinegar. Hope they get these right soon as it's my fav meal spot for hosting business meetings!

The pasta was surprisingly yummy and not heavy - great service - nice ambiance. Not overpriced for what it offers
Be the first to ReplyThis restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere to it.
The bar is beautiful and has many different options. I have been here a few times just recently last night for a Birthday! As you can see from my pictures the food is absolutely delicious, presentation is wonderful and the service was great! The waiters took my food allergies seriously and came around to ask how we were doing. This is a wonderful place to come for any celebrations, dates or if you just want a very nice dinner out! I 100% recommend it.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent food from purveyors to the preparation and care.
Best vitel tonnato I have had in years.
Be the first to ReplyWe had an exceptional experience.
The food was exquisite. When we sat down we weren't sure what to order, but we were graced with a wealth of knowledge of the cuisine. In addition, every interaction we had was kind, genuine and above and beyond. Truly a great establishment.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing place, food and service.
I highly recommend this restaurant. I ordered the roast beef as my main course. The waiter's recommendation of the wine to pair my dinner with was excellent.

I come to Casa Lever every six months or so and every visit always brings me happiness. The food was excellent and the restaurant is elegant. They have a robust selection of wine and the cocktails were delicately made. The service team is probably one of the best in NYC which is the reason that forces me to go back often. Fantastic restaurant!

This is one of my favorite places to eat! I love Casa Lever so much. They make the best cosmopolitan I've ever had. Every time I order one somewhere else, I always compare to Casa Lever's (no one ever compares). I love the food and the ambiance of this restaurant. It's truly one of New York's best kept secrets! I booked a flight yesterday to go to New York for a haircut. I'll be dining here after before I fly out.
Be the first to ReplyIt is unfortunate that it was the maître d who tainted
It is unfortunate that it was the maître d who tainted what would have been an otherwise lovely meal. We were a party of 3, so we used the empty fourth chair to place a (Louis Vuitton) purse and a Bloomingdales shopping bag. The maître d came over with a server and said quite audibly "this is not acceptable," and proceeded to pull the tablecloth over the bags so now the seat was a white lump. No doubt, this is a beautiful dining room, and that is one of the reasons a friend highly recommended we dine at Casa Lever. And I don't have a problem with a restaurant wanting to uphold certain standards of appearance. However, this should have been handled in a much more discrete, professional manner that did not cause us embarrassment and discomfort. Guests pass the coat check as they enter the dining room, so if the restaurant doesn't want diners to bring bags in, they should have coat check simply say "we would be delighted to hold those bags for you as unfortunately there will not be room in the dining room for them." I have been to many, many Michelin-starred restaurants around the world. This maître d obviously lacks training and understanding of how to make guests feel at home (unfortunate since the name of the restaurant is "casa"), instead choosing to approach his job with unnecessary snobbery. It didn't help that despite many banquettes being available, the maître d chose to seat us in the middle of the dining room next to the bussing station (we sat at 7:45 p.m. and very few guests were seated after us). Unfortunately I am used to this as I am Asian and youngish looking. Having run front of the house myself at a top restaurant back in the day, I understand the stereotypes that are followed in deciding where to seat people based on who you think will spend money and who you think won't complain when they are put in one of the less ideal tables in the house. The food here was good (we had hamachi crudo, artichokes, black truffle risotto special). It wasn't spectacular and I've certainly had better, more unique Italian food elsewhere. The wine selection was quite good. Our server was a lovely, friendly guy. Again, but for the unprofessionalism at the start of our meal, this restaurant would have been fine. But there are too many places in the city with better food and much better attitude to justify returning to Casa Lever.

I wish they still had that amazing weekend menu- it was one of the best kept New York secrets.
Be the first to ReplyI was really impressed by this restaurant.
The food was amazing. I got the eggplant parmigiana. Delicious- absolutely amazing. This place has a lot of finance people so it's a bit off the beaten path for most new yorkers. And I kind of love that. It was a great experience! Staff is amazing. Decor and art next level. I feel it's a bit of a hidden gem!
Be the first to ReplyOver priced mediocre food for new york.
Charges like they still have a michelin star but the service is subpar. Most of not all of the paintings have been taken down off the wall so you can't even justify the price via artwork.
Be the first to ReplyBad odor all around, metaphorically speaking.
Rude, robotic, incompetent staff. Very unwelcoming especially management. I do NOT recommend.
Be the first to ReplyIt was ok.
I feel like you're mostly paying for the service and the ambience because the food was mediocre. Got the grilled cod and it was so rubbery and overdone we had to send it back....asked for it seared the next time and it still was overdone. The pasta was good but nothing outstanding. Only stand out was the dessert at the end and the attention from the waitstaff. Probably wouldn't return if I'm paying that much money
Be the first to ReplyIf I'm going to get right to the point, I was not impressed
If I'm going to get right to the point, I was not impressed by the food. The caesar salad was nothing special or memorable, and although the risotto was filling, it was a little tart to the tongue. I will say that the wait-staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, and because of them, I enjoyed my meal.
Be the first to ReplyAbsolutely phenomenal food, service, and setting.
The hamachi crudo, prosciutto, carbonara, ossobucco, and gianduia were all incredible. The wine list was delicious as well. Can't wait to come back!
Be the first to ReplyA memorable experience.
Casa Lever occupies one of the most beautiful rooms in Manhattan. Refined mid-century at its best. The menu is interesting without being pretentious. The attention to detail was exquisite. This is the kind of place where you bounce your choices off the waiter. Ours was knowledgeable and helpful but gave his advice with grace, not forcing his choices on us. We walked away feeling happy and lucky.
Be the first to ReplyQuite the selection of wines.
The menu has a variety of assortments for pescatarians. I really enjoyed my fish carpaccio as appetizer. The sea bass was a little thick for my taste but it was delicious nonetheless. The napoleon desert was messy but very good. The flavors can't go wrong and the rare wine was a lovely compliment to our meal. The decor is different, ocean vibes, submarine feeling. Overall I had a wonderful experience, can't complain.
Be the first to ReplyI don't normally like Midtown restaurant's but I will make
I don't normally like Midtown restaurant's but I will make an exception for Casa Lever. My gf had a sales meeting nearby and suggested that we have an early dinner. It was a warm evening and we took advantage of outdoor seating. Park Avenue was quieter than usual, but the scene was buzzing at Casa Lever. Casa Lever attracts a very hip crowd, it is not unusual to see high end media types, and A list celebrities dining there. The only celebrities that I'm interested in are my gf and the chef. Our meal was rather tasty. The Artichoke appetizer was very excellent, and the Carpaccio of Beef was equally good. We shared Veal Osso Buco, and it was tender and delicious. We had two types gelato for dessert, and both were yummy. We will return when the weather gets warmer.
Be the first to ReplyVery "new yorker" restaurant with sophisticated and magical
Very "new yorker" restaurant with sophisticated and magical atmosphere: one fells like in a spaceship or futurist movie from the 60s. Service is spotelles and wine list superbe. We had Bellinis and a bottle of delicious Sardinian red. Those are, for me,the high points of the place, worth the price and other visits.Food was good, but not extraordinary and somehow a bit deceiving. I ordered for appetizer, a "crudo di pesce" , very delicate dish with olive oil and parsley, a bit bland but good. My main was a tradicional Vermicelli with Bottarga, one of my favorite dishes. I was really looking forward to that. Their version was tasty, well cooked but, with so little Bottarga, I felt disappointed. My husband had baccala with baby Yukon potatoes. Very well cooked and simply seasoned, much better choice than mine.No complains about the gelatti, best one, pistachio. The TIRAMISU is good, but there are better ones in NYC.Again, for me, it was special to see the work of Damien Hirst, the British artist, also a restauranteur ( Pharmacy in London) on the walls, his hypnotic dots and the beautiful butterflies.
