$25 pasta and the portion was so small I had to order a pizza because we were both still hungry. Pasta also came out cold :/ was hoping for higher expectations given the price but it was overall extremely underwhelming

We made a reservation for 10 while visiting Nashville for a girls weekend . We were required to order family style ! There suggestions of 3 apps , 4 pizzas and 3 entrees was way way too much food for our group of ladies . The service was sub par , they rushed all the courses , I didn't see one staff member smile, be polite to any of us( Hugh turn off ) . The restaurant was very loud and no atmophere at all . I gave 3 stars because the food was good , except the pizza came out rather burnt . I would not recommend an uber ride over to City House for dinner . There are many other places to eat in Nashville where the staff and owners will give you the dining experience you deserve for the money.

This place was very recommended and so while my family and I were in town we wanted to try it out! First off, the menu is confusing... it doesn't really tell you what item you are ordering or even have anywhere that says appetizers and entrees. The pizza choices are ok but unfortunately you're unable to customize any of them. We were sad to hear we couldn't add anything on our pizzas but at least ordered a couple to try them out. Pizzas came out looking and tasting delicious but super burnt on the edges. Love eating crust but not super charred. The pizza was good and the service was as well but customers should be able to add items to their pizzas and that's something I wish we knew before coming.

It was great food!!!! Just wow!!!!! So far this is the best place we have eaten in Nashville. And the staff are very polite and super warm people! Love this place!!!!!
Be the first to ReplyVery stark with an ok vibe, but really loud.
Hard to have much conversation. Food- somethings our group had were tasty and unique, other things were blah and not particularly good. Service - started out slow and went downhill from there. So many good places in Nashville would not waste my time here.

The food was fine. But the service was slow. And in the end really quite horrible. We ordered a pizza to take home after our meal and they told us they werent doing takeout orders. Umm. So we had just finished a $400 dinner and they refused to add to our order while we were sitting at the table because they said it was a takeout order. So strange. The waitress snapped at us when we questioned it and the condescending manager could have cared less. Then we walked outside and you could smell the sewage treatment plant. It was over all a bizarre experience and quite disappointing. We did tip the waitress despite the poor service.

We went there a couple of weeks ago and that restaurant ran like a fine oiled machine. We ordered a pizza and gnocchi and everything was so good. The cocktails were out-of-this-world and the perfect way to kick off 2023. We didn't have a reservation, but the hostess was very gracious and gave us a spot at a bar which overlooked the cooking area. The open-concept area really highlighted how talented the chefs and staff are at their jobs. I've been singing City House's praises ever since I had that exquisite pizza. Be sure to add the bologna - you won't regret it!
Be the first to ReplyMenu is too complex.
..basically they are trying too hard to be different. Cocktails were even more "interesting". The best part of meal was my olive oil vodka martini! We got the crab cake pancake: it was a burnt pancake. I did not taste any crab. We had the fennel salad and it was mostly red onion with a creamy goat dressing. Menu described it with goat ricotta salada, which I thought was a dry cheese, and was expecting a shaved topper. We got 2 pizzas, the dough/crust was good but the toppings meh- needed salt. We got the stuffed trout- that was good, but had too mush sweetness with the overdose of raisins, and the last entree was the polenta and meatballs. It was ok, the meatballs were rubbery. We ended meal with 3 desserts- can't remember 2 of them, they were too rich and not memorable. The cookies holiday cookie plate was ok, none stood out, except the powdered sugar ones had a nice accent of anise seeds. It was expensive, it was cold-brick building with concrete floors with a fake fireplace (we were seated upstairs.) It was busy and they've been in business for awhile, so maybe just an off night??

Amazing, inventive food and cocktails! Not your standard Italian fare. If you have the chance to put arugula on your pizza, go for it!!!

Great Italian food in Nashville! Was able to get a reservation two days before visiting and wasn't disappointed. We ordered the sour corn cake, pork belly pizza, and bread gnocchi which we enjoyed. I'd also enjoyed their take on a martini, "the Bunny" which is infused with olive oil for

Had an amazing Sunday Supper at City House tonight Two couples visiting Nashville fromCincy and Denver, we had heard about the great food being served here so had to give it a try. Your Uber driver might pass right by this place as it's a house tucked away in a mostly residential neighborhood. Very cool ambiance, our server was excellent, and the food amazing. Such a creative menu and I felt we tried about everything on it. Really enjoyed collard greens, whipped liver with apple mustard (yes, so good), pork chop on a biscuit. Those meatballs with the cheesy grits are amazing as was the pot pie. This place is the real foodie deal and highly recommend for anyone living in or visiting Nashville. Oh, and that chocolate pie with rum raisins - get out of here! Some talented chefs doing great things - bravo!
