Columbia Restaurant - Celebration Orlando Reviews from The Last Year
The Columbia is a favorite place for us to go with family
The Columbia is a favorite place for us to go with family and friends. You have to get the 1905 salad, I don't even like Swiss cheese but I promise it doesn't disappoint. The other fun thing is a pitcher of mojitos and your server will mix it table side. You pretty much always have to get reservations because it is very busy. I love the hustle and bustle. The decor is so pretty and matches St. Augustine to a tee.
The paella and gambas al ajillo were both delicious.
Our server was very attentive and we had great service the whole night. We will definitely be returning if we are in the area again.
I actually forgot I have been to this location probably 7-8
I actually forgot I have been to this location probably 7-8 years ago but when I entered I immediately recognized the beautiful interior design. Frankly, I didn't want to come here at first because the name was a bit misleading. Then I realized it is a Cuban establishment so I got excited and boy was I glad I came! I got their mojito and also the paella. Both were amazing and I would totally order them again if I am there again.
This restaurant has a great aesthetic! It has both indoor
This restaurant has a great aesthetic! It has both indoor and outdoor seating! I went on a Sunday around 1 and there was no wait for 2 people, however the restaurant was pretty busy. Our server was fantastic! She was very attentive and provided great recommendations on the food options. They serve hot bread with butter before ordering, which is the perfect appetizer. I ended up ordering the seafood paella, which was very tasty. I actually split it with one other person, and it was more than enough. My favorite part were the scallops. They melted in your mouth and went perfectly with the other flavors. The rice itself was also had very good flavor. The only thing that threw me off a little was the meat because it was a little tougher to chew than the rest of the dish. However, overall it was a great experience and I would definitely come back.
Great Mediterranean Food!
Terrific server brought us terrific dishes including mixed grill og lamb, chicken and ground meat with rice and veggies. We returned here on our visit to Orlando this year and highly recommend this gem.
Outstanding !
Love this restaurant! The food is fresh and delicious. The service is exceptional, friendly yet professional. The atmosphere on their outside patio with the music makes me feel like I am away on holidays. Small details like linen tablecloths and napkins and all servers in nice attire is rare these days . Thank you Cornell for your great service today!
Delicious food, amazing service! We were lucky to get in
Delicious food, amazing service! We were lucky to get in without a reservation after church one Sunday. The food was so good I wanted to try it all!
Great spot with fantastic service.
Enjoyed dinner a few times while we were staying locally for the winter . Great wines and tapas
Everything was amazing - food, service and ambiance.
I especially liked the black bean cakes and mahi mahi.
I love this place.
Only get to one every other year or so because we live like a thousand miles away but never disappoints and always one of our favorites on road trips.
The best Columbian experience! We enjoyed this restaurant
The best Columbian experience! We enjoyed this restaurant experience so much. The queso fundido was light and refreshing. The beef empanadas were fresh and had such a good flavor with the best crisp. The outdoor patio was relaxing and beautiful. Our waitress was great. I would highly recommend
Florida chain Cuban restaurant located in the Disney town
Florida chain Cuban restaurant located in the Disney town of Celebration. Ambience is nice, service was OK and food hit or miss. The Friituras Bacalao were amazing as was the complimentary Cuban bread. The 1905 salad was very good. Unfortunately, the "award winning" Cuban sandwich was surprising bland and the black beans just "ok". Dessert was an olive oil cake served with toasted almonds and strawberries and would order again. Given the enjoyable atmosphere and a menu with plenty of options, I would return again. Thumbs up.
Stopped in for lunch on vacation.
I had the Shrimp and Yellow rice, and it was superb. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the rice was flavored to perfection. The appetizer bread and butter was also outstanding! Our server was excellent as well--super helpful in navigating the menu. Great patio too! Highly recommend this spot if you are in the area!
Disappointment!!
I've been to Columbia a few times and I've always found it to be one of the best restaurants in Orlando. This last time I was there I was very disappointed. The food is still very good, but the carelessness and disregard that led to the service erases anything good that could be said. A major example of this is that our starters arrived after the main course and when we complained to the waiter Deion who was serving us, he told us that he had ordered correctly and that he couldn't do anything. And that was it. I believe they left the restaurant on autopilot and this is terrible for a traditional, quality restaurant.
The paella was below my expectations.
The chicken overpowered the taste. I have tried paella in many places in the world. This one was the worst. I did also get the 1905 salad as a side to the paella. The dressing was good, but the portion was very small compared to what the table next to me got as a side dish to their entree. I did also ask that no ham is added to my salad, but I found pieces. I suspect that the salad was ready, and they just took out the ham pieces. I did not like that. When you ask for a dish without a specific ingredient, you would expect it not to be made (cooked, mixed) with that ingredient. For desert, I got the churros. They were cold and very oily. Overall, the service was a little slow, the atmosphere was nice, but the food was overrated!
The Columbia is one of my favorite places to eat in Florida.
They have several locations and all of the ones I have tried are fantastic. They have some of the best seafood and cuban food I have had. It's definitely a more upscale restaurant with a very cool Latin ambiance. They have a great Cuban sandwich, the 1905 salad is to die for, and all of the seafood options are amazing.
Got the ropa veija and the mojito pitcher.
The food is good, but definitely not the same as the Ybor or other Tampa locations. The mojito had the wash already added and used a different Bacardi rum than the Ybor one. Just not the same. The sauce in the food had less spice (can happen) and more tomato flavor. The prices are less than the Cuban food in Margaritaville. The food is good and the outdoor seating is very nice.
The food is not even Spain food and it's a mixed with Cuban
The food is not even Spain food and it's a mixed with Cuban food. The service are so bad and they waitress at that time look stressed or bad mood, the restaurant is expensive for that type of food and quality
Delicious Spanish-Cuban cuisine in a lovely setting
Everything was excellent: food, service, ambience. Highlights were the empanadas, 1905 salad (mixed tableside), mahi mahi, boliche, and mojitos. The restaurant interior is beautiful and servers attentive and helpful. Highly recommend!
Excellent Food, Servvice and Location
Excellent experience. Food and service were top notch. Our party had steak, pork, and a Cuban sandwich. I had not realized Columbia had expanded from its roots in Ybor City. Pleased to find this branch. A very nice escape from the overpriced and crowded Disney experience. Highly recommended.
Tried this place as a 5 top based on a recommendation.
It was a sunny Friday afternoon and all of Celebration was bustling and Columbia was no exception. Inside/outside seating available The menu has some history about this and a few other locations along with many great items to choose from. Daily specials available also. We started with tomatoe/onion salad, bean soup and tableside ceasar salad. A pair of cuban sandwiches with fried plantains, a pair of shrimp and rice, and a chicken and yellow rice dish. Everything was delicious and came out exactly as ordered. The entire staff were attentive and willing to please. Unfortunately, we did not save any room for dessert. Maybe next time. Enjoy!

Great cuban food and service.
We visit the area every winter and look forward to eating at the Columbia. The cuban sandwich is not great but everything else we have had is great. Grouper, pork, calamari tapa, scallops tapa, 1905 salad, black beans, yellow rice, even the bread. It is pricey but very good. Service has been very good to excellent over the years we have been here, including this visit. Bread pudding is the best I have had.
The aesthetic of the restaurant are very pretty and there's
The aesthetic of the restaurant are very pretty and there's a live small band playing music. The service was great and very attentive however the food wasn't. We ordered The RIBEYE SARAPICO POLLO MANCHEGO CHICKEN SALTEADO My chicken salteado had a weird citrus sauce that overpowered the little flavor everything else had. The person that had the rib-eye was adding salt and pepper because they said it was bland The rice tasted as if it came from a box, not freshly made. And as you can see they dazzled the rice with a veggies lol. Our bill was 100+ The menu doesn't display the prices that well. But either way not worth it. If you normally don't eat Spanish food this might be the most delicious dish. But if you cook and grew up eating Spanish food you already know lol. This was just eh. Wouldn't return. Heard the same thing about their ybor location as well.
Memory Return for a Special Lunch
I had been here many years ago with my late husband. We both loved the restaurant and area, in general. Today I returned with my niece and her husband. Our round booth was a perfect spot. We all had the half and half— salad and Cuban Sandwich. They were delicious. I splurged with a blanco Sangria for old time sake. The warm bread prior to our entrees was the stealer of the show. Flan dessert was delightful. We enjoyed our lunch with great memories and present day thoughts.
Establishments is not all about aesthetics.
Called and was informed at 8p they are not taking reservations at that time. Drove there hoping we can sit at the bar or maybe get lucky on a table. We observed many open tables at the outside patio and inside dining. Asked hostess at desk about the tables, but was informed they are reserved and it would be 30 mins wait. We proceeded to the bar and placed our name on the waiting list. Within 5 mins our name was called and notified via cell that our table is ready. Upon approaching the host desk, we were informed someone at the bar area poised to be us and was rewarded our table. My fiance' and the hostess got to a verbal exchange and it seems the hostess had an attitude that she was not at fault for relinquishing our table to an imposter (the name we provided is not a common name). She thought the incident was comical (rolling her eyes) as my fiance' exemplified her disconcert. Not soon after, we were seated on the outside patio. It took 25 mins for the free bread/butter. It took another 15 mins for our cocktails. The food was bland (flavorless), had fish and chicken dishes. Yellow rice was no better than off-the-shelf box rice. The establishment and marketing could not be any better. However, the food and services did not meet the criteria of fine dining. We still left a 25% tip to the wait staff. We understand and appreciate how stressful and frustrating this line of work can be.
1905 salad experience very disappointing
We recently visited Columbia Restaurant in Celebration when friends raved about the 1905 salad. The family...8 of us...were all excited to see the salad made at our table. It was not! so disappointed and feel we did not get the experience that others in the past had received. Not eager to try again.
From the service to the food, everything was perfection.
We started with a pitcher of red sangria made table side. Then enjoyed the empanadas and the stuffed piquillo peppers for tapas. Main courses included the Cannelloni Langostino, the Pollo Manchego and a Mushroom Pollo special. And of course we had to have the White Chocolate Bread pudding which was large enough for 3 to share!
A must go
Absolutely delicious! Excellent service and atmosphere. Delicious seafood. The red snapper and Gtouper were wonderful.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
