I came with the mindset that I was here for vibes only, and that the food would be subpar. I was overall impressed, though it may have helped to have low expectations.Live DJ after 7pm and the vibes were spot on - it felt like I had stepped into an underground rainforest with house music in the background. I wish it wasn't so dark though - we sat on a separate floor from the DJ and could barely read the menu, people were even using their phone flash lights to order because it was so dark.Thoughts on food we ordered:- Calamares con Ocopa: the calamari itself was fine, was covered in an interesting green sauce (I couldn't see because it was so dark). It didn't taste bad but not my favorite dish - Atun Chifa ceviche: this was surprisingly good, a very small bowl but reminded me of truffle tuna poke and would order again - Wagyu Bao: my favorite dish! Came with 4 bite-sized Bao buns that were so delicious on the inside and would def order again - Lomo de Res (spicy beef): pretty tasty (almost too salty) but the amount of meat they give you is pretty laughable for a main dish...the portion was smaller than the palms of my hands, and my hands are pretty small. This was 100% not worth the money and made me wish I had eaten before coming to dinner so that I wouldn't be left so hungry after.- Broccolini: this was a side and it turned out bigger than our main beef dish. It was slightly undercooked, but nicely flavored and a good side to even out our main dish For drinks I ordered the Tokyo Fizz, which was super refreshing and had more 'volume' than the other drinks. It didn't seem to have much alcohol though and almost tasted like a mocktail. And lastly for dessert we ordered the Tres de Leche, which also surprised us with a crunchy caramel candy on the outside that was very delicious.Overall, I was disappointed with portions here but had a great, vibey experience.
Be the first to ReplyHighly recommend as we randomly just stumbled upon it.
Fantastic drinks! And there is not a bad dish in the house. Fresh fish and tender beef.

Are you interested in fast food? That's exactly what we received on our recent visit to COYA. Within minutes of ordering our dinner we received 75% of our food all at once. Unless Dumbledore is floating in the kitchen, using his wizard magic to blast out dishes, there's no way this food was made to order. It had clearly been pre-made, sitting back there, waiting for someone to order it. That type of clamslamming is fine at Olive Garden when I'm triple hangry, but not at an expensive meal like this. When we told the waiter that we wanted the service slowed down, he told us he'd relay our wishes to the kitchen. Ten minutes later, our table had finished a few of the initial dishes and they immediately brought out the rest of our food. With a few pieces of ceviche left on our shared dish, a server slopped it onto one of our plates while saying "do you want to finish this?".Yiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiikes.In addition, the music at COYA was so loud that we could barely hear each other speak. Both the food and the house music blasting out of their speakers were delivered at 160 beats per minute. All of this being said, I actually would recommend COYA. To an enemy.

If you have a couple hours to spare, Coya is a must-visit in London. Peruvian-Japanese food that exemplifies an understanding of flavor -- each dish was just the best version of that dish that we've tried! The hiramasa starter was a revelation, every ingredient augmenting its yumminess; the crunchy, juicy kale manchego salad was easily the best salad I've ever had. The chilean sea bass risotto tasted as vibrant and rich as it looked (not pictured, but definitely in my risotto top 3) and the Peruvian potatoes with truffle were just as flavorful. The desserts were lovely as well. The 'pina colada' was more unique, but as a chocolate lover, the orange-lime churros were my winner. Admittedly, service was very slow when we visited, but this seems to be abnormal as they offered us a free dessert for the wait.If you love good food, you will love what Coya has to offer.Dined: August 27, 2021

Trendy place, we went there for dinner once and today for lunch. Latin influence atmosphere and food. Work well with tapas style, we ordered two appetizers and main dishes with one side. Food were excellent, yellowtail sashimi was fresh and delicious, sea bass ceviche was citrus and salty with dried corn, amazing works well. My main was miso grilled sea bass which was juicy and has good flavor, my BF beef steak was well seasoned. Side dish was aubergine was great. Definitely recommend.
Be the first to ReplyGood location and very good ambience.
Service was prompt although you get the feeling the waiters try to up sell as much as possible. Recommend the lamb chops and the chocolate fondant. Of course you cannot come to a Peruvian place and not have pisco. As a traditionalist the pisco sour worked well but if care to have infusions, the blueberry & lavender combo worked well.

Wonderful lunch celebrating a birthday, with the extremely attentive staff, not to mention the most gracious Chef Sanjay, and best of all the beautiful and delicious starters, entrees and accompaniments with all manner of flavors and textures. What a wonderful way to experience Peru!

One of the better meals I had during my last stay in London. The waiter helped us with ordering for a table of four and brought out so much decadent food. The ceviche platter is a must try.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food and drinks, great atmosphere.
We went here for dinner and drinks on a Friday-on a weekend trip - such a good vibe. Morana was our waitress and maitre d and was wonderful
Be the first to ReplyI've always enjoyed this restaurant.
However this most recent experience wasn't great. After being greeted upon sitting down we waited 15 minutes for our drink order and had to call over a manager to take our food order The food was pleasant both in quality and presentation, but the lack of attention as a dining guest to order a second round of entrees was very poor. The yellowtail sashimi, the hamachi truffle and the seabass with rice we're all highlights of the meal. The lack of service and desire for more beverages was the biggest area of opportunity.
Be the first to ReplyFood was amazing.
. just not a fan of how dark it was where we were seated. I'm sure if we would have made reservations,we would have been fine

It was after this meal that I realized, food truly makes me happy but I gotta enrolled in a gym while living here in London, even though I hate the gym and it's SO expensive. £££ My favorite dish: truffle ceviche with a slight kick & the sea bass grilled to perfection. We went to the @coyaangelcourt location but posting on @coyamayfair because they don't seem to have a yelp page, yet. Food and ambience were excellent 5 BUT I took of 1 in my rating because the service was surprisingly not good at all. Our main waiter was all over the place and didn't come to check up on our table, instead, we had to flag him down or ask other people to get him for us. For s nice restaurant, this was disappointing. Also, I didn't not like their cocktails very#Peruvian #food #lover #porkribs #broccolini truffle #ceviche #beefskewers #seabass #chocolatecake #cheesecake #coya #coyalondon #nofilter
Be the first to ReplyFood is overpriced and bland.
Trendy atmosphere masks below average dining. You can do far better in Mayfair.
Be the first to ReplyI booked this restaurant for a special birthday occasion
I booked this restaurant for a special birthday occasion because I had a wonderful experience when I was in town last May.Tonight was the opposite, I was embarrassed! The waitress was snippy, she got annoyed when we didn't order her suggestion (the most expensive ones, of course) or the tasting menu. On several occasions, our plates were taken away as we were eating, they took away halfway drunk cocktails and then wanted us to order and pay for new ones, and the waitstaff kept banging into us.Food was bland and the meat was tough and gattI was shocked!!Update February 16, 2019I was just in London and was invited to Coya as a guest, my host (very good customer) was more embarrassed than I previously was!!Appears as if they don't care and would like to close their establishment, best of luck!
