Cracco’s Milano Reviews from The Last Year
Unfortunately negative experience
Even though the service was impeccable from the staff, I cannot accept two things: 1) the service plates completely chipped and worn; 2) an absolutely burnt avocado sandwich. I don't buy it anymore, it has lost the quality it used to have.
Lunch at Cafè Cracco
I gave a voucher for a tasting menu with matching glasses of wine to my boyfriend at this restaurant. Necessary premise: the location is on the ground floor, it is not the restaurant on the upper floor. The menu is prepared on the spot by the chef, as soon as you are seated they immediately ask if you have any intolerances or any dishes you don't like. The environment is beautiful with white tablecloths and really kind service, unlike other reviewers, I appreciated the presence of young waiters who perhaps drool something in the service but are committed to doing their job. Moving on to the meat-based menu, I liked everything: the veal with tuna sauce, the egg, the Milanese risotto, the fillet. The matching glasses were all perfect. We started with bubbles, a still white, a full-bodied red and a good sweet wine to finish. The only note on the dessert: it was the course that I liked less than everything else but this too was of good quality. We had a good time!
The name doesn't do everything!
Early afternoon, pick up the bibs in the cathedral for Stramilano, there's a coffee, where? Damn! It's the first time we've entered this location, yes elegant, perhaps a little dark for my tastes. I go to the checkout, the lady is busy in a conversation with a couple of customers, I wait, the lady tells me for a moment without me saying anything, when I need her help she apologizes twice, but immediately afterwards she is interrupted by another employee, I wait, apologizes. I arrive at the counter, small in my opinion, perhaps the intent is to demoralize consumption at the counter?! The baristas, 2, are busy clearing cups....I'm waiting...the coffees are arriving. No, there is something better in the gallery for drinking a coffee, yes I was disappointed.
Service to improve
Breakfast in the Gallery. Excellent food quality, shame about the service which was disappointing. We order two juices, a croissant and an avocado toast at the table. We wait 10 minutes and a croissant arrives, after another 10 minutes the juices and after a further 25 minutes the avocado toast. From a venue of this level you expect impeccable service.
Perfect for pastries.
We stopped by here to grab a quick pastry and coffee on our first day exploring. Super cute inside, delicious croissant and nice coffee. On the dearer side but was lovely.
Taste of elegance
Stunning location. Refined furnishings and spectacular views. The windows of the restaurant overlook the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele from which come the lights and sounds of Milanese life from times gone by. Elegance in every detail. The menu is not as surprising as the context but is still worthy of a Michelin star. The fragrance currently diffused on the napkin at the beginning of dinner is notable, as is the change in perfume for the dessert. The presence of Chef Cracco in the room gives everything a very special charm.
Cracco
Restaurant not with much attention to detail, I sit down and immediately order a Milanese risotto with osso bucco, but I don't know why it arrives after 40 minutes, good flavor but the marrow was barely visible, for a starred restaurant I have to tell the truth I was disappointed nothing of the precision and particularity that one expects from such a renowned restaurant
Hostile
We were in four and thought to give it a try. Must say food was good and desserts were great but nothing special. You can spend less and have better food in most of the restaurants in Milan. We spent 830$ and left a 70$ tip but not even a thanks or goodbye. Wouldn’t go back. Believe, spend your money somewhere else where they might appreciate it
So thrilled to get a last minute table at this Michelin
So thrilled to get a last minute table at this Michelin star restaurant. Service impeccable, plating brilliant, wines divine, especially Prosecco and Pinot Noir. Sadly, possibly the worst meal in our long foodie history. Felt like a Saturday Night Live skit parodying an American couple paying a fortune for an uneatable meal. Every course soft and gooey! We had the tasting menu. Started with candied rice cake. Soft creamy odd center just fell out. Not a finger food and not good. Soft slightly sweet dumpling with gooey caviar center. Soft cod "ball" wrapped in sea lettuce: soft. An avocado salad with cilantro topping: so strange. Thought the cod tripe soup was bad until the white rabbit arrived. One bite and it was over: gray, gooey mess with awful texture. Service was only redeeming value. A funny very expensive joke on us!

Cracco is anything but a generous restaurant - proceed with caution. We tried calling / reaching them multiple times to cancel and move a reservation. This is despite them not being open most hours to make amendments When we got ahold of them finally 24 hours ahead of a reservation, they still charged us 500 euro for cancelling. The manager was anything but understanding and extremely standoffish in our requests. We feel ripped off by their service and caution you against spending money at this establishment if you are not 100% certain in your schedule. They were rude on the phone to boot!

I have some reservations coming up tomorrow that have gotten lots of views but haven’t sold yet. I haven’t made a sale yet since I just joined this week. I keep lowering the price, but am worried they won’t sell. How long did it take you to sell your first reservations? And did you have success being reimbursed by AT for no-show or cancellation fees? Just looking for a little reassurance. Thanks!

You should probably cancel prior to the cancellation date per the cancellation policy. I would imagine you would only get reimbursed for a sold listing if you happen to be charged?

My first sale took about a week. But as the other commenter said stay ontop of your cancellation windows. There’s no reimbursement for those so make sure you cancel in time then just try again.
