The food was A-MAZING! And the service was great! It was my friend's birthday and we were glad we chose Datz! We didn't have to ask for refills, or water, which was nice after walking around downtown. The food was delicious, but it was also beautifully presented! And very reasonably priced. The atmosphere is is casual and relaxed. Just an overall great dining experience!

Maybe I was expecting more, but I don't know if Datz lives up to the hype. Don't get me wrong, brunch was tasty. But it's a bit overpriced for what you get. I do have to say, the pastries at Dough, the bakery next door, were well worth it!

Be the first to ReplyFirst time at this restaurant for breakfast Easter Sunday.
The Bloody Mary was excellent even came with a strip of bacon and celery. The food service and ambiance was superb, server was Chrystal very attentive knowledgeable and friendly. I had Biscuits & Crazy which of course has 2 Biscuits and sausage gravy, 2 eggs, 2 strips of bacon, and multi colored potatoes. I substituted the bacon with there Cheesy Grits a recommendation from friends I was with. The Cheesy Grits are outstanding I am not a Grits person being from Iowa but these were the best I have ever had by far. Everything was delicious very large servings and I was stuffed. The Grits have cheese and cream cheese in them. When I return there for breakfast again, I will definitely have the cheesy grits. The sausage and biscuits were a little bit cool they weren't as warm as what I would've like but I ate them anyway, that would be the only negative thing that I would say they came with green onions on top of them and those were just really good , all in all a very very good Easter Sunday breakfast

I just found it lacked a bit of seasoning on the chicken. The ambiance was chill and honestly it was pretty.

This was my first time at Datz and it did not disappoint! Our waitress Kristen was amazing! Out of everything the shrimp and grits were my favorite! There was a brown gravy that comes on it, but I got it on the side. The dish didnt need it in my opinion. Will definitely return!

Pete for brunch after a visit to the Dali Museum. The space was clean and the staff was friendly. We were seated promptly so the initial experience for my table of three was good, but that quickly devolved to ho hum. While our server was very nice, and quickly came to our table to take our drink order, it took more than ten minutes (perhaps fifteen minutes) to receive coffee at our table. That is just too long to wait, especially as the server did not come to our table to explain the delay or to apologize. Had we been told that the kitchen was making a fresh pot of coffee, we would have been more understanding. Indeed, had our server brought us our water promptly, we could have overlooked the delay in getting our coffee! When the coffee did arrive, it was . . . interesting. It was not bad and it was certainly drinkable -- even enjoyable. It had a flavor, however, that none of my party could identify. In simple terms, it was a good cup of something but it just did not hit like coffee. I ordered a brie and egg sandwich on a brioche bun. It was served with breakfast potatoes. My sandwich was OK, but I could have replicated it with more flavor at home. Lack of seasoning was echoed by others at my table (one who ordered breakfast tacos and one who ordered an omelette). Breakfast potatoes were bland and -- even worse -- clearly had been sitting out for a while as they were quite cold. The price for breakfast for three, including 20% tip, was under $75, so I was pleased with the cost, but I would not likely return to Datz in St. Pete if I find myself in the area again.

We used to love the Tampa location, so ventured to St Pete to try another Datz. I wouldn't make the trip again. We ordered the kids chicken tenders, which were very dry and chewy. It came with a chocolate chip coookie which looked burnt, it was hard and way over baked. I had a strawberry fields drink which was my favorite part of the meal. I ordered the Laz's cuban and it wasn't super fantastic. I liked it better way back when it was the Havana Hottie with the sweeter honey mustard. My husband had Risk it for the Brisket. It was better than mine. There are too many options in this area to choose from, we won't be back unfortunately.

Jess was lovely, super sweet and fun to interact with and absolutely enhanced our experience

Datz does classic diner food with a lot of twists! Make sure you come with an appetite because the food is outrageous and the portions are big. The breakfast potatoes were a highlight, so tasty & the perfect Sunday morning meal after a night out.
Be the first to ReplyCute vibe! A lot of food.
Great service! We needed more than a coffee shop for breakfast and this was the spot! Highly recommend!
Be the first to Replygood food, better service.
my food came out in 5 minutes, I was amazed! They also do military discount
Be the first to ReplyVery impressive happy hour.
My wife and I were on our way to the movie theater and stopped by Datz because they have (on paper) a great happy hour. Good news... It's more than just paper, the happy hour was wonderful -- 50% off appetizers. We ordered the nachos and wings. No cocktails tonight. We sat at the bar and the two bartenders were probably the most accommodating/helpful/nice servers I've had in a very long time. Highly recommend. The food was delicious. We added pork to the nachos which definitely put those over the top. The barbecue wings have an interesting flavor with a special sauce that's actually quite good. So reasonably priced happy hour, great food, and the best service I've had in months. Datz gets five stars today.

We had excellent service and food! The restaurant is HUGE - spacious and clean. Clean restrooms. The food was outstanding. Monkey bread (omg to die for!), Chicken and waffles, hot chicken sandwich, and the brie sandwich were all very much enjoyed!

Got the breakfast BLT and it was to die for! Will deff be back!
Be the first to ReplyThis was my son's pick for a Sunday birthday brunch.
I had been to the Tampa Datz so I knew what to expect. We had a reservation but still had to wait 15-20 minutes even though there were empty tables.Once we finally got to order, the drinks(bloody Mary's and Shirley Temple) were good. We sampled all different dishes. I had the short rib Benedict which was good but I ignored the hard biscuits on the bottom. The Nashville chicken donut sandwich was good without being too spicy. The other dishes were a burger, a salad and breakfast tacos were rated good with no complaints. We took a monster brownie to go which was AMAZING.The service took a while but that's common these days. It was under $200 for 5 with drinks so not bad. Not a regular destination but I would go again if I was in the area. I would give 3.5 stars but not 4. Tampa has better service.

Great food. The bakery is amazing! Always a great spot to take family visiting from out of town.

Really enjoyed my previous experience at Datz Tampa so was excited to try out St Pete location for a late lunch when my boyfriend and I were in town for the day. Went in around 4:30 on a Saturday. Our experience from the beginning was pretty miserable. Took a seat at the outside bar where there were only 2 other parties being served. After waiting a decent amount of time to get menus the bartender (who's pants were basically falling off him exposing his backside our entire visit, gross) came back to ask for our drink orders which then had to ask for a drink menu. Finally ordered our drinks after multiple long waits. Ordered food, after more multiple long waits and for what, I'm still pondering. The bartender was out of sorts for no obvious reason which makes me think he was dealing with something personal that he showed up to work with written all over his face or EXTREMELY hung over/under the influence. We watched as he stumbled around the bar continuously handing wrong drinks to customers running back and forth, dropping things... Either way, whatever his issue, his service, ON TOP of the quality of food that we were served made for a regretful, uncomfortable, and EXPENSIVE trip. We ordered fusion fries which were delicious and the best part of our visit but I can't imagine it would be extremely difficult to mess up french fries covered in truffle oil and cheese. My boyfriend ordered the Cheesy Todd and I ordered April in Paris. After waiting for awhile to get our fries we enjoyed them in anticipation for our meals. After another decent wait, our food was placed in front of us and our hopes for a good meal were deflated. You could tell just by looking at my boyfriends meal it was extremely over cooked and dry, once he cut into it that was confirmed. The mac n cheese patties and the burgers were all equally fried to oblivion. On top of that there was no sauce of any sorts on the burger so it was just a miserable dry pile of disgusting. My meal on the other hand was a pile of grease. There was SO MUCH Brie on the sandwich and after biting into realized there was no pesto. It was sent back to get a hopefully better one. This one came 10-15 minutes later, with pesto, plus the insane amount of Brie, soggy arugula and tomato. It was just a horrible grease bomb that the veggies and bread soaked up and made the sandwich inedible. Neither of us finished or barely touched our meals, and with disappointment written on our faces waited another half an hour to get our check. We paid for our meals and left, and today checking my bank statement came to the realization the bartender added a nice tip for himself on our check which we decided for the lousy service and experience was not deserved. Needless to say I will never be back to this place and would not recommend you take the chance.
Be the first to ReplyNeedsless to say i wont be back.
The food was not good. They had nothing in stock. The supposed chicken doughnut sandwich seemed like it was twoBurger buns fried and dusted with sugar. They were hard. The service wasn't good. I had to keep reminding our waitress of the drinks we ordered. The food took forever to come and idk where the bus boys where but tables were not cleaned in a timely manner making the restaurant look nasty. First time here and the last time.

I was in town for some Spring Training baseball and had a few hours to kill on a Sunday Morning before the game. I did a quick Google search for "best brunch St. Pete" and my screen was flooded with recommendations for Datz. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were seated right away by a very welcoming hostess. Our server, Emma, was great! Very attentive and sweet. We shared a pitcher of mimosas which had the perfect ratios of champagne and OJ. Our first course was the Monkey Bread. WOW... one of the best sweet breakfast/baked items I've ever had! The bacon on top added such a nice touch of salty to cut through all that delicious cinnamon-y goodness. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles Benedict and was a huge fan! Such a unique take on 2 classic brunch entrees. My boyfriend had the Nashville Hot Chicken Donut with Cheesy Grits. He gave both a 10/10 (high praise from the world's pickiest eater!) and said he wishes there was a Datz location back home in Baltimore!Overall, this was one of the best brunches I've had in recent memory. Service, atmosphere and food were all top-notch and I would highly recommend Datz to all!
Be the first to ReplyBest biscuits and gravy in St Pete.
Servers are always friendly. A little pricey & hard parking.
