This was a Really positive experience for a family member's birthday. Great service, incredibly authentic Italian food, and wonderful ambience. This is really a inconspicuous gem in a bustling city center with a heightened night life. The 'blu gnocchi' preparation was some the best I've ever had. I'd highly recommend the trio of desserts too.

Be the first to ReplyI'll give this a solid 4****.
Not everything was perfect but it's a decent place, OK prices, quick service and nice staff. I ordered seafood spaghetti, side salad and a large glass of house red. While I was waiting for the main I was offered the complimentary bread, balsamic/olive oil combo thing. Nice gesture, but the orange slices looked a bit weird! The main was well packed with juicy prawns, squid, mussels and some fish chunks or other and all in a delicious tomato Sauce. Spaghetti was perfectly cooked. I would have liked a spoon to twirl the spaghetti onto my fork, but no big deal and I couldn't be bothered to ask. The salad was fresh, but too much olive oil dressing so I left most of it. I'd prefer to sort my own dressing amount. The wine was certainly gluggable; I think a Cabernet Sauvignon. Desert ... well it was enough for two I'd say and I do love my gelato! A delicious mix of vanilla and strawberry scoops. All in it came to around £25, which I thought was competitive. I'd certainty go back if I was up that end of Broad Street and I'd order off their Deliveroo menu too if I fancied home delivery. Recommended.

mon night just been for dinner at 530 on a Monday main serving of lasagne was delicious nothing Iceland frozen rubbish here salad nicely done we oiled and seasoned it ourselves very nice wine selection for a decent red £15 which is very good this is a real good hidden gem so am not going to tell anyone so much better than the muck down the hill Jamies and nando's one of the desserts you get a free liqueur mmmm again nice touch
Be the first to ReplyGreat food.
Prepared wonderfully well. But the staff is too small to handle the hordes. The time between people leaving a table and haveing it cleaned up for the folks who have been in the queue is at least 30 minutes. The time for someone to come to your table and take any sort of order is at least 20 minutes. The food, however, is worth the wait.

I was with my wife and my mother in law at the Bullring for almost four hours straight. I know, I should be given a medal. It was the in law's first visit to Brum tho so I couldn't kick up a stink but my stomach was screaming. Normally, I do not like eating in or around the Bullring because, as everyone knows, the restaurants tend to be much more expensive. But I was starving and had no intention of walking any further and as I was with ladies I thought I would prove I could be a considerate host and opted for Del Villagio. The place was packed (afternoon shopping frenzy time) with a nice, welcoming family atmosphere. I ordered a spaghetti alla putanesca. The portion was so large that even with a completely empty belly, I almost couldn't eat it all. It was good, but I was expecting something better for the price (£8.25). Maybe my standards were too high because I had just returned from a trip in Italy. My wife ordered a penne ai pepperoni, don't be confused when there's no little round pieces of spicy meat in there, it's a vegetarian dish. I confess, I was jealous. It looked much better than my meal and the Mrs said it was amazing. The waitress who brought us the bill at the end was very helpful. She was nattering with my wife and her mother for a few good minutes. Finally, a good restaurant to go with the family in the city.

Im a bitch about italian food, because im a legit italian and i get upset when people get mamas recipes wrong.Even though this is a chain it have the feel and charm of a smaller establishment filled with love. The stall are all friendly and go out of their way to make sure your having a good time and your well fed and watered.Right in the middle of the Bullring its perfect for a mid shopping lunch, or an romantic evening meal. Food quality justifies the price and a main dish heads up around £12-£15 a head.Wine selection is vast but the beer selection is limited to imported bottles and few taps.

I went here recently with a female friend and we got pretty hammered and started screeching like we usually do but it was all good; the staff didn't seem to mind. Before we necked all the wine, we managed to have a perfectly civilised meal and it was delicious. I ordered some kind of prawn linguine and my prawns were cooked to perfection, so fresh. I am really looking forward to my next visit, not least because I have two vouchers - one for a free bottle of wine and one 241 on mains. Woohoo! It almost seems too good to be at the Bullring...

I took my fiancee for lunch at Del Villiagio in the Bullring as we fancied something a bit different. The menu is for true Italian lovers.Taking into account that it was lunchtime, we didn't fancy a massive meal but the portions were really generous.I had the Calzone, which was really huge and the bolognese sauce that came with it was delicious. With this I had a shandy which was also really nice and they didn't go cheap on the lager. My partner took the Callamari and Garlic Bread and both of those were delicious too. However, if you are a small eater, the Callamari would be good as a main meal as well as it comes with lots of Callamari (~15 onion ring size pieces), a nice sauce and salad.Overall a lovely atmosphere and pleasant staff even during the busiest lunch i've seen in the Bullring can't complain about anything.

This del villagio is always busy yet the service does often let it down. When it first opened it was one of my favourite placves to eat with the unique style of service and somewhat self service casual feel about the inner restaurant.sitting outside in good weather is a plus for the location, but now you have to order from your table with waiters who are not as competent as they should be.the upstairs restaurant is similar to the one on broad street and is reasonably priced for the quality of food served.
