I ordered takeout from this place and when I arrived I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place. My order was ready for me and I promptly paid for my food and went home. I ordered the Korean fried chicken (soy garlic flavor) and a few of the spicy flavored Korean fried chicken. The chicken was crunchy and flavorful. The chicken came with a side of picked radishes which was nice. The radishes were crunchy with a bit of a sour bite which was a nice compliment to the chicken. Overall I'm extremely happy with my order and I would recommend trying this place if you want are craving Korean fried chicken.

I couldn't stop myself from eating it. Would have liked a bit more spice on the spicy chicken as it was pretty mild comparatively. The spicy dumplings were absolutely bomb.
Be the first to ReplyMy review is in two parts.
Upfront for readers *THIS IS A NON-TIPPING ESTABLISHMENT*The first part is that the food and atmosphere are excellent for a good local haunt to satisfy a crunchy fried chicken itch. Our table got both types of fried chicken (red spicy, it is not spicy, don't believe that. It is tangy, that is not the same as spicy. Still tasty and moist) and the dark soy sauce (tasty, crispy and moist). Both satisfying and scrunchy/crispy. We also got dumpling & gyoza, pork belly and bulgogi, as any good Korean order should include. Cannot say enough, before you leave, have the Korean Rice Cake doughnuts. It is a treat you won't regret. They take 15 minutes to make. They must be enjoyed fresh.Part two, and this is the disappointing part, THIS IS A NON-TIPPING RESTAURANT (That is not the disappointing part). You will not know this until they give you your receipt and it says it on the receipt. When I paid with my credit card, I asked the waitstaff, where the tip line was. He told us they only do TIPS IN CASH after we paid with our cc at the table. He waited until we put the cash on the table, took the money and then left our receipt, which stated at the bottom in all capitals *WE ARE A NON-TIPPING ESTABLISHMENT* They did not publish this on the door, on the menu or anywhere else in the establishment.I did not notice this until after we left the restaurant. Live and learn, and share what you know along the way. I called the restaurant to let them know what happened; not to get my money back, but for them to better train their employees. They hung up on me. So Caveat Emptor.I am not sure I would go back because of both the deceptive tipping and the hanging up, which obviously meant they did not care that this was happening.

Food was great reminds me of all the street vendors in Korea when I was little. I would recommend if you are visiting Providence or live in the area.
Be the first to ReplyThis place has been my go to restaurant for over a year.
Absolutely amazing food, always consistent.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was delicious, especially the fried chicken.
The service was friendly and courteous.
Be the first to ReplyThey should advertise it as Koreans frying chicken rather
They should advertise it as Koreans frying chicken rather than a classic "Korean Fried Chicken". The classic has a distinct thin, crunchy exterior that would crisp even with the lightly lathered sauce. That crisp is integrated into the skin itself through the double-frying process. As opposed to this restaurant that gives out a soft chicken skin with a sauce that doesn't quite resemble the essence of Korean Fried Chicken either.Don't get me wrong, it tastes good. It's just not what they are advertising it to be. The crispy skin with a distinct honey flavor to the sweet/spicy sauce is what you're looking for. I like their kimbap, scallion chicken, and their kimchi pancakes - which are fantastic.Bb.q and Pelicana have the flavors/texture from my childhood down if you're curious what the classic is supposed to taste like. Mokban has the flavor down but not the skin. Denden is a fusion. I might bring visiting friends here who want a nice cheap meal, but I wouldn't bring my parents here. 4 stars for decent food with misleading advertisement
Be the first to ReplyThe fried rice cake was good with the lemon.
It was sticky and crispy at the same time.I regret not getting the chicken wings instead because the cheesy boneless chicken was so mediocre we didn't finish it.Surprisingly, the yaki ramen noodles with the dark sauce turned out to be the best dish of our lunch.
