DeNucci's Chicago Reviews from The Last Year
DeNucci's is a lot of razzle-dazzle and has a great buzz.
The atmosphere is sleek and contemporary. The place is packed! Reservations are not super easy to obtain (plan your visit in advance). But, you can walk in and sit at the bar (get there early before the dinner rush! ~5:45pm). Started with garlic knots- yum. Fluffy, buttery, garlicky. My only complaint? Portion size. There were 4. I wanted more! :) Had the kale salad. Perfectly balanced, great mix of textures, and pecorino. We ate every last bit of it. Spaghetti limone (imported pasta) and tagliatelle bolognese (fresh handmade pasta) were our entrees. The spaghetti limone was kinda basic but tasty and had a velvety texture. The bolognese was delicious. The dessert menu had creative spins on traditional Italian desserts, but I didn't order any. I'd be interested in returning if a friend wanted to try it.

Stumbled upon this delightful neighborhood gem on a trip to Chicago. Highly recommend. Location, staff, food (homemade pasta!), ambience were all 10/10. Will definitely return.
This was an overall disappointing experience for an Italian
This was an overall disappointing experience for an Italian dinner. I live in the area and it's always popping when I walk by so decided to stop in. We showed up pretty late (like 10 pm) on a Saturday night and still had to wait about 30 minutes. A little disappointing an surprising off the jump, but it seemed like it was a neighborhood favorite so we went ahead and waited it out Once we were seated, it took us a pretty long time to be greeted to order drinks, and then again to order our food which was pretty disappointing. Probably 10-15 minutes to get our wine after we ordered it as well. Overall, the food was meh. Bruschetta - 3/5 - flavorful and tasted very fresh. Really good overall but I think they were like 18$ for 3 little pieces which seems kinda insane looking back on it. Arrabiata Pasta - 5/5 - Ok this was the star of the show and actually really really good. very tangy, spicy, and just everything I'd want from an arrabiata. Pasta was cooked perfect al dente and like the Bruschetta, tasted very fresh. Spicy Pepperoni Pizza - 1/5 - Was a pretty disappointed on the pizza, as from the vibe of the restaurant I was expecting it be a Neapolitan style, but was actually kind of just a basic football pizza. The crust was good and it definitely had good spice, but it kind of just tasted like a frozen pepperoni pizza with some hot peppers thrown on. Over powering taste of pepperoni, could barely enjoy any other aspect of the pizza. I will say I kind of scarfed it down because I was super hungry, but my girlfriend (who normally loooves pizza) couldn't stand it. I think I saw someone else on yelp call it both an "expensive applebees" and "expensive pizza hut" I'd say it's a blend of the two. My gf asked for some ranch to dip her pizza in to make it a bit more tolerable but these MFS didn't even have ranch! Applebees could NEVER! Pretty wild to me that a pizza restaurant in the midwest in 2024 has 0 ranch dressing anywhere in sight. Our waiter also gave us a very judgmental look when we asked for it... Oh well. I will say the pizza was great to eat cold for breakfast in the morning haha. I could see how this could be a spot for like a double date or a group dinner as you can share a lot of the stuff on the menu, but I probably wouldn't go back here any time soon. There were some good dishes, and maybe we ordered wrong on the pizza, but the level of service and overall atmosphere/experience doesn't seem worth it to go back as there are dozen other Italian places in the area that I would try ahead of going back. It's also just pretty expensive for what it is - Total bill for me and my girlfriend was about $115 total for the food as well as 2 glasses of wine. Pretty pricy for 2 people but not insane, just don't know if the value was there. If you are looking for good Italian close by with AMAZING pizza, and similar price, I would recommend La Crosta Woodfire Pizza. To summarize everything in NFL terms, DeNuccis is kinda like Mitch Trubisky that one year he went to the pro bowl for the bears - he did a pretty good job (because of how hungry I was) but man, you really just don't to rely on him in the long run, and the more you think about it, the more you realize how disappointing he was ps - Wish I took pictures but phone was dead :/
A lovely local spot right in beautiful Lincoln park! My mom
A lovely local spot right in beautiful Lincoln park! My mom and I visited here after wanting to see what the hype was about. We were pleasantly greeted with a beautiful bar area that led into the cozy dining space. The restaurant was laid back and cozy like you would get from your neighborhood spot. However, the lighting created a vibe that was expensive and a great date night location. We stopped at the bar where I tried the refreshing Italian lemonade. I didn't love all of the drink options but this one definitely hit the mark for me. Sweet, slightly tart, and light! After sitting at the bar, we were taken to our table. We were seated in the back dining space which made us aware of how large the restaurant actually is. From there, we decided to order the garlic knots and instead of getting the full appetizer order of meatballs, our waiter made us aware of the option to just order the side of meatballs that came in a pair. Our appetizers came shortly after and the meatballs were delicious!! We loved the garlic knots as well but they could use an oil to dip them in as well as the marinara. After the appetizers, we decided to get pizza as our main entree. We did a half pesto and half margherita pie. I LOVE that they let you do half and half pizza. I feel like you don't see this often but it was a definitely highlight for me. They pesto and margherita came out piping hot and soooo delicious. Could not recommend more!
The restaurant was very clean and the staff was very nice.
We were lucky enough to snag a booth. The garlic knots were excellent. The grilled calamari was a bit chewy but did taste good. The sauce that goes on was very strong and slightly overpowered the actual calamari. The spaghetti limone was very lemony but again was good. The pasta is cooked al dente so if you are someone who likes their noodles cooked longer, then I would imagine they could do that for you. The pasta was homemade. The location is good and we will return but will try different items. The pizzas must be very good as I saw someone bringing out boxes upon boxes every 5 minutes.
Nice service, pretty restaurant, food is hit or miss.
Came here with a large party and our service was great. Parking is tough but there is valet. We split lots of items but a few stand outs - the fried calamari was good, garlic knots were perfect. The lobster ravioli was pretty bad. It was... sour? Way too much lemon and lobster was a bit rubbery. The cacio e Pepe was good. The cannoli was disappointing, the filling was too soft/fluffy, not thick enough. The worst offense was the pistachio ice cream which was totally tasteless. Honestly they should throw it away and take it off the menu, that shouldn't be served to people. Overall, I think there is room for improvement but I'm sure there's better Italian spots in Chicago than this.

WOW. I wish I could have back the minutes of my life I just spent walking to pick up my takeout order, trying to eat it, and then quickly taking it out to the garbage can. The food is complete GARBAGE. I ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese. I feel like they gave me someone's takeout return order, or else leftovers that no one else would eat (and understandably so). It was cold. The noodles were hard. They were much punier than what's advertised in their photos. And the whole thing was just flat out bad. There was nothing good about it. It tasted worse than something I'd never order from Noodles & Co. Yet it was three times the price. For garbage. The takeout staff were more concerned about carrying on conversation amongst themselves than waiting on patrons. Not the ambiance or experience I was expecting. What a huge disappointment. AVOID THIS PLACE!!
Fantastic place, top to bottom, start to finish.
This restaurant group really knows what they're doing, the details from the interior design to the furniture and decor is beautiful. More importantly, the FOOD and the SERVICE. Top notch. Excellent, every aspect, with a staff that is attentive but never overbearing, everyone is friendly and helpful. A really wonderful experience!

Great Italian dishes, warm atmosphere, and wonderful service! Logan A was a great server. He suggested the pistachio gelato and chopped salad and both were fantastic. My girlfriend doesn't even like pistachio but she loved the gelato.
On point for pasta in Chicago
We love high-end Italian food in Chicago. DeNuccis did not disappoint us. Everything we had was perfectly done. The appetizers, minestrone and little gem Caesar salad, were wonderful--the salad was chilled with crisp lettuce, with a delicious anchovy-tinged dressing. The minestrone was made with a very good beef broth and I loved it. For entrees, we had the spaghetti alla vongole--the spaghetti was al dente and perfect--and also a chicken cutlet, which was in a marsala sauce. Again--outstanding. The service and cocktails were also top notch.. It is hard to get a table here, but we will come again.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Can come from a lot of places, people who don't want to get charged their cancellation fee or people who just have them and cant go.

almost all restaurants aren't affiliated with AT and I'm guessing it's mostly people wanting to not pay cancellation fees.
