We had a fabulous dinner here with the seven of us.
Our waiter did a fabulous job of recommending a variety of dishes, and they were all really delicious. Favorites were definitely the black daal, the ruby chicken for the kids, and the specialty lamb. Even if you don't like daal, I would definitely try this black daal. It was unlike any other I've ever had. The lamb was stellar and the Ruby chicken was very much like a chicken tikka masala. This is a great place to try interesting things and some old standbys. We had a fabulous meal, and would love to come back!
Be the first to ReplyGood ambiance.
Service was ok. Food was way over priced. Just 6 grilled shrimps (mind you shrimp size not big prawns) w/o rice or anything else that accompanied it & garlic naan was almost $40.

Worth the line!!! Our sever was great at helping us order enough for sharing and dang, the food was so good. I loved everything about here and genuinely hope I get to return.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is quite busy at any time you venture in.
On a recent Saturday night, we waited almost 90 minutes for a table since we did not have a reservation. Drinks were very good and the mojito I had at the bar was phenomenal. Food wise everything was top notch. The chicken tikka roll for an app and then the ruby chicken and garlic naan for our entree were all delicious and hit the spot. Definitely a must try for some unique takes on Indian cuisine.

Some of the best food I've had in my life wow! Service was great, and it's decorated so wonderfully. The food is just too too good, vada pao and lamb samosas were just wow
Be the first to ReplyOverall, amazing! Definitely recommend! The wait was long
Overall, amazing! Definitely recommend! The wait was long (saturday night 7:30pm). About 30mins standing in line then over an hour inside. But, inside you can get drinks. The service was good. They give you tea in line and once inside you can sit at a high top and order from someone, not just the bartender. The food was delicious! Some of the best Indian food we have ever had. Do not sleep on the raita! It's a must for dipping naan. Plain and garlic naan was fresh and perfectly cooked. Chicken tikka and Ruby chicken were both so flavorful! Somewhat small portions, so make sure to order a couple different things. Great for sharing. Make sure you listen to the rundown of the menu. Some things come with sauce, others don't and if you want rice, you have to order it on the side. Decently priced. Great ambiance.

This place is as good as advertised and worth the wait to get in. Once we were seated the service was really good and all of the food was amazing. It was actually so good, i only grabbed a pic of the menu outside and didnt even think to take any pics of the food. I dont think I had one bad bite all night and between the four of us, we ordered a ton of food! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and re-visit if I find myself in the area again.

We had heard rave reviews from family in the area, so we decided to give it a try on our last visit. We got REALLY lucky and only waited a few minutes before getting seated. This place is awesome!!! The service was great, the atmosphere was lively, and the food was DELICIOUS! Now, let me tell you, if I could have, I would have eaten EVERY meal here for our entire trip. But, we were only in London for a couple of days, and I didn't want to waste precious time in a queue for every meal! LOL

Perfect service and perfect dishes! my parents first time try Indian food and never disappointed! We love it ! The chef's special is the best!! Price is fair. Everyone should try! Hope it will open in the US
Be the first to ReplyWhoa I was blown away by how good the food is here.
My first visit to London and hands down the best Indian cuisine this place is top tier, there a chutney on the starter menu with pomegranate thats out of this world. Service was great and efficient I really felt like I was in someone's home and impressed with how nice the waitress and host are here.
Be the first to ReplyThis by far is by favorite branch.
Everything minus the biryani, sorry :( The atmosphere is a great, the staff doesn't miss a beat (or favorite waiter isn't there anymore, but he was the S. African guy), I mean, bottomless chai tea? Sweet Jesus! The ruby chicken (!!!), tikka chicken, gunpowder potatoes, lam chops, black daal (it's a must!), okra fries (!!!!), veggie samosas, and lastly the breakfast! yes, they do an outstanding breakfast. Akuri, and the masala beans. Oh lord. my mouth is watering thinking about it. don't walk- RUN. Also, buy the cook book, you won't regret it.
Be the first to ReplyDishoom serves some of the best food I've ever eaten, hands
Dishoom serves some of the best food I've ever eaten, hands down. We got a pre-theatre reservation and were seated quickly despite arriving late. I have a dairy allergy, so the non-dairy menu on the website was much appreciated when trying to make decisions. We went with the lamb samosas, chicken tikka masala, biryani, (only my boyfriend could have that) a chicken wrap, and gunpowder potatoes. Everything arrived hot to our table and was devoured immediately. The dishes are meant for sharing, and I would say we got the right amount of food for two hungry adults who weren't able to take any leftovers. We would have gotten a few more things to try had we not been headed straight to a show afterwards. We were on holiday in London so unfortunately I can't eat here every week, but I'm already looking forward to a return trip. Well done!
Be the first to Reply5 - Service 5 - Atmosphere 5 - Food5 - Beverage 4.
5 - ValueToo good to rate - Chicken RubyWe had this on our must try stops & made a point of getting there early to avoid a wait. It didn't quite work out that way, as the place was already packed with a wait list. Fortunately, the line to get on the list hadn't formed yet, (more on that later), & we were adv 1-1.5hrs wait, then handed our blinky light alert box. We were told we were welcome to enjoy the bar but don't go far if you go outside, as the blinky light box range isn't great. No problem, we arrived much earlier than our usual dinner time & wanted to try a few different drinks. The bar area has a bar top (full) several standing height tables where you can get to know other diners & some tall chairs so some of the patrons at the table can sit. On average 2-3 different groups shared each standing table & bar seats filled before they were vacant (I know, impossible, but true!)We bellied up but didn't hit up the bar to order, as they were swamped. We decided to hold off til we hit our table - after about 30min, we were approached for a drink order - no arm twisting needed. The glasses were prepped and drinks delivered in plastic-wrapped bottles to self-pour. I thought it was an interesting presentation. The couple across from us did not. They also feel that locals shouldn't have to be waitlisted -awkward table share moment as tourists. Hmm. We were seated about the 1hr mark & walked through the menu by a way-too-energetic server. I was exhausted watching her work & she was excellent at her job. We followed MOST of her recommendations & none were a miss. The least favorite was the prawns & umm, that was all me. The favorite, uncontested, without a doubt, lick the bowl, judge me if you must dish Chicken Ruby. I was craving it already on the walk to the hotel. I would drink the sauce from a mug all day long.My hubs loved the rice pudding, p"possibly the best he's ever had" topped with caramelized sugar, like a Brule. I drank my dessert (Espresso Martini) & another must try on a cool night is the chai chocolate drink -yum! The price wasn't crazy given 4 drinks on top of our dishes & a dessert. I've bookmarked it for our next visit & added the Chicken Ruby to my Crave-worthy list, currently 5 dishes strong, so, it's not easy to get on this list. Service was attentive without being fussy. On exit, the line to GET ON the wait list was down the side of the building & staff were passing tasters out to appease the crowd. I get it tho. I'd wait in that next time too if it was the only way in!
Be the first to ReplyA restaurant that creates a new culture through four-themed
A restaurant that creates a new culture through four-themed space interiors and newly interpreted Indian food. Chicken Biryani was so fantastic and the perfect balance of ingredients was amazing. Mutton curry, It's not an orthodox style curry, but I think it played a abundant role in pursuing tastes and flavors that go awesomely well with other menus overall. It would be nice to add a little more curry menu, but it was already perfect at the moment. Prawn koliwada was kind of appetizer for me and it made palatable start fot all the menu. Some people call this place as a healing space. It was a great night where I found out why. Definitely will come again!!
Be the first to ReplyI've heard so much about this place & I don't think it can
I've heard so much about this place & I don't think it can ever live up the the hype. BTW, I never consider menu pricing when I bother to do reviews. You know what you're getting into when you reserve a table at a restaurant, so I don't get the folks who complain that "for $25 this itty bitty dish wasn't all that good." It is a bit disingenuous because you can't eat the money on the plate. Excellent food can cause a couple dollars so money doesn't dictate deliciousness. IMHO. Having said that, this is based on food, service & vibe. HERE GOES! Good ambiance & a hipster atmosphere. If you like that sort of thing, this is up your alley. The rice was EXCELLENT, i will give them that. BUT, the Butter chicken was slightly above average. The service was spotty & they don't take cash so I wish I'd have known that. The letter doesn't factor into the stars, or lack thereof, tho. They were a bit inattentive. The shrimp dish was so-so and the okra dish was underwhelming--nothing to write home about. Overall, the food was a bit of a dud for me ...I'm sorry, excellent rice can't get you to an excellent review. The pistachio kulfi was nothing I'd want to eat again, at least not from here. I've had it before in other places and loved it. Not here. So there you have it. There are places in London where the flavors are more dynamic so if you don't get a seat, don't fret. Keep searching ;) oh, & feel free to Add a 1/2 star to this to make 3.5 stars, but I can't give it 4. No way.
Be the first to ReplyYea buddy, this place lives up to the hype.
Great authentic Indian food (NOT Persian as they seem to claim), and presented well. The best thing about this place is their bottomless chai.

The food is PHENOMENAL! Nothing here on the menu you won't enjoy! There was a hefty 1.5 hour wait in que outside but it was TOTALLY WORTH IT! Hands down the best Indian food (or food in general) I have ever had! Amazing flavors! I loved the ambiance & will definitely be back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND the black daal & veggie samosas!

There is a reason why this place is so famous!! We are so many different dishes and they were all amazing. I particularly loved the lamb. I also appreciated that they offered refreshments while waiting in line. We also loved the chicken ruby which I felt was kind of a mix between tikka masala and butter chicken. We also loved the chili chicken and it was kind of different from the rest of the menu. But honestly anything you order will be amazing!! Can not recommend this place enough!!

Flavorful and great customer service. Have seen several reviews saying it was worth the wait. Luckily we did not have to wait too long and our entire group loved every bite!
Be the first to ReplyDon't touch me, don't talk to me, I'm not okay.
I don't understand how I'm supposed to just go along existing now that I've experienced this place and cannot continue to do so on the daily? Distressing. Highly distressing. This is the best All The Things I've ever had. All of the things are the Best Thing. It defies all reason and I cannot cope. Please please please expand shipping for the online store. Begging. BEGGING.Ate here 3 times in 5 days and would do so again forever.Love you miss you

So many people hyped up Dishoom so my coworker and I made an effort to go on our trip. They do not accept reservations so when we were hungry at 4pm for a late lunch we headed over. ย At that time we were seated immediately. We thought it was really great food and enjoyed it at a reasonable price. When we left the restaurant there was a line out the door. While the food was good I don't think it would be worth the wait.
