Dune Fort Lauderdale Reviews from The Last Year
This place is amazing.
Great staff great location. Well class food is my favorite favorite place in Fort Lauderdale.
Dune is a stunning restaurant right on the beach.
I love the vibe, views and food/drinks. The crispy rice is a must order!! It's so delicious and the tuna entree is so good and always perfectly cooked. Highly recommend dune for a date night spot or a place to grab food and drinks with friends! They have a good happy hour by the bar as well and their spicy margarita and watermelon cocktail are the best!
Ruden, Antony, and Dunes made my whole Sunday.
We went for my Sister's 50th Birthday celebration and let me tell you a time was had. We were welcomed by Ruden who even took the time to move the table in a bit so we wouldn't be burned by the sun. The food was amazing, the service excellent, the view phenomenal we were seated outside. Antony and Ruden though the service, politeness, fun, welcoming personalities with a smile OMG took this dining experience over the top. Thank you Dune what a beautiful restaurant and experience.
Good place by the beach
Food is good. Outside tables by the beach give you the sense of South Florida. The combination of location, service, and food, make this place a good restaurant for dinner

Absolutely loved this place! Great view! It's a busy spot, but still it is very peaceful. Service is great. Staff is on point! Food is 5 stars! Dips, short bread, pasta - everything.... Highly recommend this place!
Amazing food and service.
My friends and I felt very welcomed and taken care of by the server, manager, and the rest of the staff. I actually made a Yelp account just to review this place, loved it.
Terrible service but nice sommelier & good food
My wife and I went to Dune as we heard the food was excellent and had a great patio setting. The food was amazing and the setting was great as well. The service though was really bad. Our waitress was really nice but just not cut out to be a server. We sat in a booth and our wine was across the booth so it was awkward to keep getting up from the table to pour our wine. I waited for the waitress but after a long time shuffled around the table and poured our wine. This happened through our entire dinner as our waitress went missing . We also had a big mixup with the wine. Mondays is half off bottles of wine between 100 to 200 bottles. Nobody told us this which was frustrating. A big positive along with the food quality was Joey the Sommelier reaching out personally after the fact to rectify the situation.. That was appreciated ! We will come back and hoping for better service next time as the food really is excellent.
Beautiful restaurant, great decor and ambiance and right on
Beautiful restaurant, great decor and ambiance and right on the beach makes it a great place for drinks with friends. Went for Saturday Brunch and the menu looked great, but the food was meh! I ordered the lobster salad that for $42 I was expecting more,- more flavor, a better dressing etc.... Lobster was fresh and delicious but the salad needed more umph! Have had many lobster salads -pricier and cheaper and they were better. Definitely want to go back and have dinner to see if they get that right... I have hope! I have no problem paying $$$ for food but it needs to be worth it, definitely something better than I can make at home. Now drinks, they did that right! I had the coconut margarita and that was very good. Not as good as the one the Condado in Puerto Rico makes, but it was a close second.
This is my new favorite in Fort Lauderdale for excellent
This is my new favorite in Fort Lauderdale for excellent food in a great atmosphere. It is rare to find great food on the beach and this delivered. The filet was perfectly prepared and the sides complimented it well. My husband had the Osso Buco (special) and it was rich and flavorful. Definitely will be returning.
Dinner
My wife and I come to the bar often. Always been very happy with service and food. Last time we were there, we were told we didn't need reservations for bar lounge area. We came with guests and took a booth next to bar, and was told by Maitre D, (Camilla) table needed reservations. We then moved to a lounge area outside. After having a drink, the wind was a little too much for us. Waitress was able to get table inside. I really wish Maitre D would have offered an alternative table from start. Not very accommodating.....Our server at the table was great. Everyone enjoyed thier food. I had a problem with my Stone Crabs.....no remoulade. Was given mayo, instead. Never ate Stone Crabs without remoulade, ever.. Didn't enjoy it!
Amazing food and service and the view was out of this
Amazing food and service and the view was out of this world! The crispy rice steak tartar was perfect. Also reccommend the sushi!
Food and service was great, Claudia was an amazing server.
Definitely coming back! The sunset was beautiful
I was extremely disappointed by this restaurant especially
I was extremely disappointed by this restaurant especially since it is a relatively expensive place to dine. You would think that a restaurant along the beach would have a variety of seafood options but there was only a few and we were told explicitly that the chef refuses to substitute or vary from the preparation which severely limited the options. We had a party of 6 and 2 out of the 6 loved their pasta dishes but at $64 and $39 for pasta, I would hope they would. The rest of the party was pretty disappointed by their selections. But the worst part of the night was the service. We had a party of 6 and only 4 water glasses and the waiter never brought more so we had to share until we ran out. We had to locate our own silverware also as nobody brought any to two diners. The waiter took our orders never to return to get more cocktails, water etc. or ask how food was. I gave two stars because it is a very pretty restaurant but our table was out of the nicer area and really diminished the experience. And the outside bartender was very kind and attentive. In hindsight we should have eaten at the bar. Understanding you pay for ambiance at the beach but for the price of dinners and cocktails I definitely expected better quality food and service.
Excellent service (by Michael), Lovely food, fun dessert
Excellent service (by Michael), Lovely food, fun dessert (baked Alaska !), great wine selection and beautiful decor. Perfect place to celebrate special occasions. Happy hour at the outdoor bar is also great fun with very nice small bites while enjoying a great view on the ocean.

I have to start this review off with how awesome the service was. Our server was phenomenal, perfect timing on the meal and very attentive. That really makes a difference in today's "service lite" environment. The support service was also on point. Food/drink runners, bussers, hosts...the whole team worked really well together. Five star service! The space is really nice, beach, elegant, fresh, modern and very clean. Both bars were so cool and we'll definitely be back for cocktails soon. The food is great. The baked feta and honey was top notch. The chopped salad was perfect. I had one of the flatbreads as my entree and it was plenty of food. The rest of the menu was well-rounded and great options for vegetarians. The cocktail menu was interesting and diverse, perfect for a beach spot. The wine list was eclectic if not a bit over-priced. I will say Dune is pricey for what it is. While I'm sure we'll be back, definitely for cocktails, we'll likely have to reserve Dune for special occasions. Everything was worth the price, so not a complaint.

41/2 stars! Great service, fantastic location, good drinks, good food! Very nice for dinner occasions or happy hour. Hard to find on the ocean. The view of the ocean cannot be beat!
My visit to Dune was nothing short of delightful.
The ambiance of the restaurant was both inviting and comfortable, providing an excellent backdrop to a memorable meal. The star of the evening, however, was our server, Romel. He was the epitome of professionalism, balancing attentiveness with respect for our dining experience. Romel demonstrated a deep knowledge of the menu, guiding us through the various dishes with ease and making excellent recommendations. The service we received from Romel significantly enhanced our dining experience. His friendly demeanor and dedication to ensuring we had a wonderful time at Dune truly stood out. Overall, Dune has left a lasting impression on me. It's a place where the quality of food and service merge to create a truly enjoyable dining experience. I look forward to returning and would highly recommend this restaurant to others.

Dune is a world class restaurant that exudes elegance upon entering the establishment and throughout the experience. Service abounds from reception, to bar staff to servers and the food is beyond expectation. Myriad choices and amazing presentation make the experience exquisite.
Spectacular ambiance, good food and the service team works
Spectacular ambiance, good food and the service team works hard to please. Management leaves a great deal to be desired. I was told to box and bag a take out order. Weak! Management can take lessons on exceptional customer service from Mastro's, Trulucks and Vitolo. Sad that this could be an exceptional place if Management knew what Customer Service means!
The service is atrocious & the Sommelier is a very dishonest person
This is really unfortunate as the food was excellent but I know I'm not the 1st person to complain about the dishonest staff that work here, friends of ours had a similar experience. We went on a Monday night and were really excited as we heard the food and patio setting were great. Quite honesty both the setting and food were amazing. Our server was super nice but just not good at her job. I actually got up and served our wine during dinner as nobody came around. I was really interested in ordering some high end bottles of wine as it was a special occasion. When the sommelier came over I was shocked that he was talking me out of ordering some bottles that were in the $130 to $180 range. Weirdly he kept insisting we order a bottle that was just under 100 dollars. He also didn't know much about the wines on the menu just that we should order the bottle that was around 96 dollars. Later on the manager came over and apologized for the slow service. She then asked us how we were enjoying the 50% off wine Monday they were having. She told us all wine between 100 to 200 dollars were half price. I was really pissed off when she said this and I knew why the Sommelier was pushing us on the wine that was not part of the promotion. Why sell a bottle for half price when you can get full price. In his mind we are already there dinning so know need to sell a 150 dollar bottle for 75 when these suckers will drink a lesser bottle for 96 bucks. Anyways , total bad guy move. As much as we like the food and setting we won't go back a D support dishonest people.
STAY AWAY! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT
Horrible experience with the manager of the restaurant. My father had a $250 gift card that I gave him 2 years ago. The manager would not honor it saying it was now called Dune by Laurent not Dune by Auberge which was on the gift card. Same name, same location in the Auberge building but she couldn't figure out how to accommodate the customer. I told her, as the manager, she had the ability to make it right for her customer but she chose not to. She clearly should not be in a management position if she can't be empowered to do the right thing and wouldn't honor it. The customer is clearly not the priority here. Stay away
Valet Almost Ruined My Evening
Parking at the restaurant is $9 which is a surprise at this high end restaurant but the outrageous behavior of the valet at the counter was the inability to make change of a $20 bill for a tip because “one of his guys had the key to the lock box”. In addition the valet did not even suggest going back into the restaurant for change. Lastly the parking payment system is automated for payment by credit card but no ability to add a tip. If anyone chooses to go here use Uber or Lyft for convenience and better service.
Bad service
We had high expectations when we arrived due to the environment being very welcoming and up with the times, however we were quickly disappointed. Whilst the steak that we ordered was lovely the rest of the food was sub optimal. The most disappointing part of the evening was the service this really left a lot to be desired and was really non existent we even had to keep getting up to pour our own prosecco which was on the other side of the table. All in all it was a very disappointing experience and one we would not want to repeat sadly.
Warning!! Do not waste your money!! Terrible food and rude management.
Do not waste your money!! This was the worst experience we have ever had at what was supposed to be an upscale restaurant! The only thing upscale about it were the prices. We were fortunate that no one got sick from the fishy octopus. When we spoke to the manager (a French woman who obviously has spent too much time in the sun) we were treated disrespectfully. Even the drinks were sub par. I can’t say enough about how bad it was. The view was great but you can get that for free.
Truly first class
Excellent service and exquisite food made for a lovely evening. The fish mains were beautifully presented and delicious. The cocktails were excellent too. Due to a storm we sat indoors but this was no problem as the decor and fittings are all superb.

Prepaid Reservation Fee

When you sell a reservation that has a prepaid fee AT takes a commission on that fee. This doesn’t really make sense because it’s an expense the seller incurs not part of the profit that is shared.
For example:
Carbone NYC fee to book table for 2 is $108.88
If you sell it for $200 on AT you get $140 from them.
Your net profit is $31 and AT collects $60 in fees.
It would make more sense not to charge commission on the upfront fee as this creates a disincentive and results in higher costs for buyers.

Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
