Great Seafood Tower
Terrific Seafood tower- well priced compared to the Harbor side restaurants and better value. The atmosphere is romantic and feels old world which was very fun. Recommended
Be the first to ReplyWORST EDDIE V'S - NOT A LOCATION FOR FINE DINING
Worst Eddie V's of all of them on 1370 Bison Ave in Newport Beach! I went on a Saturday night for dining with a party of 3. We were expecting the usual Eddie V's signature fine dining experience. It was more like a loud and busy sports bar on game night with no upscale dress code. All around terrible experience. And they ran out of certain menu items to top it off. Our waitress was actually doubling as a bar tender. The place was jam packed with casual diners, many in inappropriate street clothes, TV's over the bar showing basketball games. So noisy we couldn't hear ourselves talk or even hear the waitress without her having to nearly scream to be heard over all the noisiness. I would expect this for a TGI Fridays and pay TGI Friday's prices. But our bill was over 3 hundred bucks and we all felt cheated after the experience. The waitress was friendly but because she was busy bartending and rushing to serve drinks, she could not give us the patient fine dining experience we went there for. Waste of money but we learned and will not be going to this Eddie V's ever again unless the menu is half price!
Be the first to ReplyA Perfect meal
Went for a friends dinner the other night and wow we were blown away. The service was incredible, and food was even better. We started with an assortment of oysters which were great, I got the 22oz prime ribeye and my friend went with the scallops. Both were really good, my steak was perfect the his scallops were seared great and melted in your mouth. For the side dishes we got the truffle Mac and cheese which has fresh shaved truffle on top (probably my favorite thing we ate) it was super cheesy and just had some much flavor. The crab fried rice was so good as well and had fresh lump crab on top. The potatoes aug raton were to die for! So cheesy and soft and had a great crisp to the top layer. We also split the 24 karot martini which was excellent. Overall I’m dying to go back, one of my new fav restaurants. I highly recommend to anyone!
Be the first to ReplyBest Au Gratin Ever!
We celebrated a good friend’s birthday at Eddie V’s which is her favorite restaurant in Newport. We’ve eaten at at least 3 other of their locations across the country. They have consistently excellent, high quality food, and delicious preparations. Clara, our server, was vivacious, knowledgable about her menu and specials, and made this occasion a special one. Luis, our busboy, was attentive, and made sure we always had water and bread, and cleared our plates at the right time. The smoke Old Fashioned was presented well, and was great. The beet salad was generous. The ladies had the special which was fresh swordfish with Alaskan King crab. This was tasty, but we all felt the portion was a bit undersized. Not so with my bone in New York steak was prepared nicely. The highlight to the meal was their fabulous Au Gratin potatoes which we unanimously agreed was The Best we have had at any restaurant. We were scraping up every succulent cheesy morsel. They served a complimentary bananas Foster for our friend’s birthday. Many restaurants today, sadly so absolutely nothing for special occasions. Kudos to Eddie V’s for honoring and appreciating guests who celebrate with them. It shows appreciation and respect.
Be the first to ReplyEddie V's in Newport Beach -- Excellent experience
Recently enjoyed an excellent dining experience at Eddie V's in Newport Beach with my daughter. Everything about our dining experience was excellent from the hostesses, to the bartender, to our servers/waiter, to our delicious meals. My daughter enjoyed surf (lamb) and turf (king crab legs), while I enjoyed lobster bisque, and an excellent NY Strip. Kudos to our server, Hung, who answered all of questions (gluten free stuff), continually kept our glasses full, and had an excellent sense of humor. We look forwarded to returning. I definitely recommend Eddie V's for an upscale dining seafood/steakhouse experience.
Be the first to ReplyVIP Anniversary Dinner
We booked our 50th anniversary dinner at Eddie V's and were not disappointed. We were treated like VIPS. Our table had rose pedals and a nice card wishing us a happy anniversary. Our server was amazing and very attentive, even on an extremely busy Friday night. We started with steak tartare. That was served tableside by the manager. As main courses, I had scallops and my husband had seabass. Both were melt in your mouth. The meal is a la cart and had difficulty selecting accompasniemensts that would go well with our meals. I thought some were a bit overpowering for the entrees. We did not order dessert but they brought us a very nice complientary dessert. It was a relaxing meal and the perfect choice to celebrate such a special occasion.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent filet and lobster!
The service really enhanced our dining experience tonight. Fyodor was awesome! We had the filet and lobster and both were terrific. The filet was perfectly prepared, seasoned just right and done exactly as I ordered it. The lobster was a nice sized 7 oz. tail from South Africa that was really sweet and delicious. We started with Caesar salads that were very tasty. Nice ambiance. Really an enjoyable evening! Definitely a repeater!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Dinner Out
Did not have reservation but they had a table in the bar area. It was a great. Seared branzino and the crab fried rice were divine. The house Chardonnay was decent but the Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc could be better. Service was outstanding. Fare was pricey but worth it.

Eddy V’s was a great dining experience. Our waiter, Brian was so outstanding with humor, knowledge and as one family member said, he knew the right question to ask to make sure that you got the perfect meal for yourself. The drinks were fantastic, the steak and fish was wonderful and the desserts amazing! Great atmosphere, wonderful presentation of food and drinks!
Be the first to ReplySome of the Best Food and Service Ever
Went here for my birthday dinner- just 2 of us. We noted in the reservations that it was for a birthday. Upon arrival, we were seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Very nice ambiance inside. Upon reaching our table, there was a "Happy Birthday" envelope on the table with a birthday card inside from the "Staff at Eddie V's". That was a great start. Now for the food- where do I start? This was some of the best and amazing food I have experienced in a long time. EVERYTHING was SOOOOO GOOD! For an appetizer, we started with the Jumbo lump crab cake. A bit pricey at $26 for 1 crab cake, but ALL crab with no fillers- just lump crab meat- one of the best I ever tasted. Also had the Caesar salad. Nice but nothing special. We also had the warm goat cheese salad with arugula, roasted wild mushrooms, goat cheese & vinaigrette dressing. Not something I would usually order but my wife got it and I tried it and was pleasantly surprised how good it was. For my main entree, I ordered the 22 oz Prime bone in Rib Eye steak (that is what I came here for). Was not disappointed. The seasoning was right on and cooked to perfection- very tender. Since entrees do not come with sides, the plate was a bit bare with only the steak on it (no color such as parsley, etc.); wife ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was served steamed in a light broth. That was tender and excellent as well. For side dishes, we ordered the Au Gratin cheddar potatoes. Very cheesy with sliced potatoes. To die for! We could not decide between the grilled asparagus or the crispy brussel sprouts. Our server Diantha Joyce took care of us and we were able to get 1/2 order of each. The grilled asparagus was just that- asparagus, but after trying the crispy brussel sprouts with Korean glaze (has some heat to it- chili paste according to our sever who asked the Chef) and peanuts, I wished I had ordered a FULL order of the brussel sprouts- the BEST I have EVER had! Did not save room for desert, but our server Diantha brought me a Birthday plate anyway, with a small order of their Bananas Foster butter cake (flambéed) with butter pecan ice cream. That was excellent as well. Overall, we will definitely be coming back here again. Some of the best food I have experienced in a long time. Also, the service with our server Diantha, was impeccable. Took care of our every need and knew the menu well. Even provided us with her "business card" from Eddie V's and requested that we ask to be seated in her section when we return. Have never experienced that at a restaurant before, but when we return, we will definitely be requesting her. Overall, an excellent birthday experience!!!

Came here for me 60th Bday with some friends (6 of us). I should have wrote this review sooner, but wanted to say that we enjoyed this place so much, and our server Emily made the night absolutely perfect!! Just loved her service - and of course the food was amazing as well. Went out of their way to make sure I had a great Bday! I would 100 percent recommend coming here again - and I would make sure Emily was our server. She’s a keeper!
Be the first to ReplyA great dining experience from appetizers to dessert
A great dining experience and one of the nicest waitresses (Amber) we’ve ever had. We had oysters on the half shell, a burrata with a beet salad and salmon over a bed of spinach with a lovely sauce, ending with a scrumptious lemon tart served with melt in your mouth chocolate cookies. Not cheap but well worth the price.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful Restaurant for Special Occasions!
Our family of six were celebrating a milestone birthday and my husband took us to Eddie V's. First time visit and we were all impressed! The drinks (like my Brandy Alexander) and the food (like my lobster and Brussel sprouts and the complimentary yummy bread) were perfect...so delicious! The menu items are all a la carte, so dining here is definitely not cheap. But the service was awesome (thank you, Manny and Sasha), there was plenty of parking in addition to valet service, and a free birthday dessert was brought to the whole table, not just the birthday girl! We found only one thing to be bothered by at Eddie V's: pretty noisy atmosphere. We had trouble hearing our conversation at our table of six. Highly recommended!

We've been coming to this fabulous restaurant for many years (and the one in El Segundo too) ... It is just a pleasure anytime... Recently we were superbly taken care of by Hollie and David. Can't wait to go back. Suggestion: need to add items that were removed from previous years from th bar menu.

I have eaten here many times, both for happy hour and in the restaurant. The food is consistently good. I have only rarely had mixed drinks on par with the food, though so stick with the wine.
Be the first to ReplyBest anniversary ever!
Absolutely the best dinner in a long time! Celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. The best meal and service in over a year! Stone was our server and we really felt honored. Great outstanding food! A memorable evening. We were happy to see the diversity in the other diners. Highly recommend this place!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and staff!
My wife and I decided to try a new restaurant for our anniversary so we found Eddie V’s on TA. We called and made a reservation. Masks are required at this time. Not sure if they had it before but there is no valet so self parking only. Which wasn’t bad, the parking lot was not full on a Sunday night. After checking in, we were seated and Ray waited on us. On the table was a happy anniversary card from Eddie V’s along with some rose pedals. Ray was so helpful and nice. He knew everything about every drink and meal! His recommendations were on point! Started off with a 24 karat drink and a maverick. They were both really good! The 24 karat was sweet while the Maverick had a big jalapeño taste. Ray brought out fresh bread and we ordered the yellowtail as an appetizer. I love fish and this is some of the best yellowtail I’ve ever had! Then we ordered the Chilean sea bass, the 12 oz filet, and the Brussels sprouts to share. The sea bass melted in your mouth and the spinach that the sea bass is sitting in is equally buttery and delicious. My filet was cooked medium rare and it was crusted perfectly! Ray recommended a peppercorn dipping sauce that was delicious with the filet. The Brussel sprouts were coated in this sauce that is to die for also! We ended the night with their old fashioned. We requested the non-smoke versions and with the chocolate bitters, they were also so very delicious! Lastly they gave us their bananas foster butter cake which was caramelized with some liquid fire. It was as amazing as the pic shows! Awesome place and great staff! A must!!
Be the first to ReplyDo not sit at the bar
Wild fish has great steaks and seafood....however do not sit at the bar.The bartenders are very cold and every time you need a drink you need to flag them down. There is no conversation are they are not for the guests....Sad cuz it is a great place to eat.
Be the first to ReplyTasty!
Visited the restaurant during NB Restuarant week, upgraded from the prepared 3 course menu and ordered the Chilean Sea Bass, very good selection! Sat in the patio area much quieter and heat lamps made dining very comfortable. Service was very attentive and prompt.
Be the first to ReplyBest Filet I've ever had
I've had a lot of Filet's in my life and on this night I had the best one. I asked them to put their peppercorn (not a sauce) on a 12 oz filet and they crushed it. It didn't have butter and it was so juicy and cooked perfectly medium rare. Their asparagus and s'mores dessert was really good as well. They did put us outside and it was very loud. I feel like they made up for it by really making sure our meal was top notch.
Be the first to ReplyOne Word to Describe: Excellent
Actually went to Eddie V's twice this week; once on business, once for a couples dinner. I've driven past it for years and am sorry I didn't visit before.
The variety of seafood is good. There 6 types of oysters from both the east and west coasts. I had blue points and they were fresh. The horseradish is really hot and really good. Use spareingly. I also tried lobster tacos (an appetizer) and liked them very much. The scallops and fish selections everyone raved about.
Took some Brits on the business visit and they had chicken and steak. Both raved about how good it was.
And as to service, both nights Laura was our waitperson. She is also excellent; very attentive but not pushy. Makes great conversation. Is knowledgeable of the menu.
They have a $25 corkage fee which was waived for the couples visit. Wine selection is large but light on Italian reds. That's why I took a bottle for the 2nd visit.
Consistently very good!!
We have been coming here either as a family and sometimes as a couple since it initially opened--we ALWAYS have a very good experience. We were concerned that with the new ownership there would be a falloff---that is not the case. We look forward to a few of the side dishes as much as the appetizers and entrees---the Crab Fried Rice and the Truffle Mac & Cheese are wonderful. The Yellowtail Sashimi and Lobster Tacos are appetizers you should consider. I look forward to the Lemon Sole, but my kids all like the King Crab Filet Oscar. The Bananas Foster Cake is always a fun dessert. Check out my photos for more details.

Food was not as we had expected. Nothing really special. You can have tastier seafood at better prices elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyProfessional Server and Great Oysters
Did not know quite how fancy this place was going to be. It's fine dining in a strip mall near the freeway. But, once inside, it's beautiful. Our server was a pro. I think her name was MacKenzie...I wish I could remember. Anyway, she was extremely knowledgeable, showed up to the table at exactly the right moment and really enhanced our dining experience. We were also impressed with the oysters. So clean, not a bit of sand or grime. All of our food was great. Beautiful wine selection. We left leaving impressed.
