Tiny, but awesome!
If you need personal space this is not the place for you. However if you love great sandwiches and youโre willing to sacrifice a little bit of elbow room then this could be the place for you. Amazing sandwiches are decent prices with little space to sit and itโs loud too. I really enjoyed this place for about 20 minutes which is enough time to order, eat, pay and then go.

Corned beef hash with a fried egg for breakfast! No better way to start a day in the City! Add a toasted onion bagel with cream cheese and youโre set for the day! No need to remind myself that I wasnโt in Columbus any more.

Enjoyed a reuben and coffee as a late breakfast on a weekday morning. Fantastic, gritty, old school diner atmosphere, with brisk and friendly service.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, great location
Went here with my 17 year old son for breakfast - he loved the food and the volume. Friendly service, great traditional American decor and in a good location. I had a very nice Omelette with sides.

Eisenberg's is like taking a step back in time. The long, narrow corridor, the banquettes and the simple tables hark back to a diners of long ago. Our server was kind of snippy, but everyone else was really nice and best of all, we really enjoyed our Reuben sandwiches and the pickles. Reasonably priced and a nice way to escape the bustle of the city for a little while.

Went with family and had a most delicious breakfast. Received excellent service and the food was generous.
Be the first to ReplySatisfying Alternative to an Icon Building
Travelled to 5th Avenue to take photos of the "Flat Iron" building longtime an international ikon for NYC. Unfortunately found it is currently (Nov-Dec 2019) covered in scaffolding thus preventing the best facade images but since it xas late lunchtime decided to revisit Eisenbergs sandwhich shop. It is about twenty years since I was last there and it doesn't appear to have changed one iota. It was crowded with lunchtime diners but there were a couple of tables vacated as we entered at the back rather than the counter, so we sat down. A bit cramped but enough space for two. Service arrived we wanted the hot beef sandwich with side dishes of chips. Service was prompt and the food good. Our neighbour an elderly single lady was complaining about her burnt toast which gave us a good reason to talk to her. We had her life history together with that of the food and her family. A fascinating storyteller and real local. This resto is a discreet and original must for visitors to stop to eat, choices out of a lengthy menu in a popular location. Its not a chain. In the end we were too late leaving and didn't photo the Flat Iron.
