Michelin star 10/10
Fine dining to perfection. A very quiet, simple, but elegant restaurant. Cannot fault the food, it truly is worthy of the Michelin star. Very decent menu, all 10 courses a delight. If you know your food and want some thing exceptional, then this is the place to be. Very good service and staff.

We chose the 10 Courses menu, made up of ten dishes, of which only three were at the level expected of a Michelin star restaurant, in our opinion. The wild sea bass, the sirloin with chard and foei and the almond coulant were excellent dishes, with high-level raw materials and preparation. The table service stands out for its attention and kindness.

It was such a wonderful experience w superb service! As usual we arrived almost first but are last ones to leave !! Took us thru a great journey of world combining traditional baroque and modern techniques. Reminds me of eleven madison park before it became fully vegan. Love love this! Deserves 3 Michelin stars

How can you describe something that is perfect in itself? An evening of superlatives. Culinary delights of the highest quality combined with unbelievable service. The guest sets the pace. This is an experience that you don't come across very often. It was an evening that was characterized by the extraordinary. Club Allard takes fine dining to the next level!!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent quality mezcal, flavors and creativity
It is an excellent restaurant. Creative and exquisite food at the level of chef M. Berasategui and chef JOse M. Goñi who runs it in Madrid. It is a Spanish cuisine with varied and successful touches of foods or international food. Beautiful and appetizing presentation. Everything was great for us but we will especially remember the cauliflower foam with scallops; the wild sea bass and the coulante almond dessert (simply sublime). It was a delight and this new look for this old restaurant brand deserved this rejuvenation and solvency and of course the Michelin star. Good luck and may you continue earning stars
Be the first to ReplyAn explosion of subtle flavors...
Surprising. Mastered. An incredible concentrate of varied flavors. Impeccable service. It is very expensive; that being said, we are no longer on a meal, but on a succession of culinary experiences. The flavors are dense, surprising while remaining quite consensual. A very small reservation on desserts, more divisive or a little less controlled. But the rest is so incredible that it doesn't really matter...
Be the first to ReplyOne of Our Top 5 Meals
One of the 5 best dinners of our lives. My wife and I had the tasting menus in this elegant restaurant- the theme was all Spain and it was a truly outstanding dining experience- the services was every bit as good, and we ended our meal with a tour of the kitchen too. I would recommend this tasting menu to anyone who loves food and wants to try beautiful and creative dishes, one after another.

We took the 10-course tasting menu and the experience is highly recommended. Preparations at high altitude and excellent cuisine. To highlight the warm salad (it is a true work of art in its presentation) and the urta (the beet cream is unbeatable). High price in absolute terms but in reality content for the food and service received.

I have been reading the previous reviews, however my experience yesterday, Saturday, December 9, was MAGNIFICENT Initially, when we arrived at the restaurant, they arranged our bags so that we could be more comfortable, they introduced themselves in a very cordial manner, and they showed us the menu, we chose the 14-course menu. Before starting, they inform you that it is important to let us know if we are going to smoke or go to the service, so that each dish is at the appropriate temperature and the quality of the service is impeccable. Then the sommelier arrived and I asked for a recommendation of a wine to accompany the entire menu. He brought us a Greek wine, which was truly the best option because it combined perfectly with each dish. The first dish is an explosion of flavors and textures that, together with the impeccable presentation, gives you the certainty that they deserve the star they have. For the second course, I was amazed for a few seconds. The flavors combine perfectly, with each dish you discover the art and care with which they make everything. They brought us a variety of exquisite breads, the oil left me dazzled, the butters have a creamy texture and make the flavors stand out in an amazing way. The Txangurro is DEFINITELY among my favorites, the dish is ART, its creaminess and flavor made it an unforgettable experience. The Iberian Presa with its mustard ice cream fascinated me. It's amazing how they make unique creations full of flavors that combine perfectly on your palate. I think that the warm salad is a proposal where the color, flavor and texture create great umami together. The Zamburiña dish competes for one of my FAVORITES. A foam that, upon entering your mouth, blends with the other ingredients in an elegant and delicate way. However, the one that matched my palate was the eggplant ravioli. Incredible how from a plate they can awaken emotion, pleasure and joy at the same time. I could describe to you how exquisite every detail and every dish was, but I think you have to go and discover everything the restaurant can offer you. Without a doubt this visit has touched my soul in every flavor. I had the pleasure of visiting the kitchen in the middle of the experience and it is amazing when you see where ART and MAGIC come from, impeccable cuisine. Service from the room team 10/10 I recommend that you go early, because it is clear that the restaurant wants to accompany you every step of the way without rushing. The music seemed to me to be the link that makes this restaurant have that classic and rogue touch at the same time. The tone is appropriate and transports you to make the experience even more fulfilling. I fell in love with the place, the attention and above all the gastronomy, you can see how they all merge and complement each other, I think the attention is WORTHY of the place with impeccable work CONGRATULATIONS TO THE RESTAURANT AND THE TEAM.

Disappointing. We visited this restaurant with a Repsol sun on 2 Ferraz Street on the first floor by Martin Berasategui but we don't understand how it can have such good reviews since despite eating well the service is terrible. 1-As soon as you arrive they take your coat and take you to the table, being a restaurant with these prices and with this image I don't understand why they don't give you something to hold your bag since I had to leave it on the floor. 2-The techno music that didn't fit with the place was very loud, then they played heavy metal and although we like any music we don't understand the mix with the classical atmosphere. At the end of the meal the music went up and down in a very uncomfortable way. 3- We asked for a menu of 10 dishes and they gave us the one of 14 (we were not counting the dishes but when the bill arrived we were amazed) finally they told us “good but you have enjoyed it” yes but it is not what we wanted (I was left without trying the sirloin with foie which was what I wanted) We don't understand how this could happen... a disaster. Finally they charged us 10 but what less with the disaster that everything was. 4- They ask you to let them know if you want to go to the bathroom through the kitchen, but a restaurant like this should be connected to the kitchen and the living room and not tell customers that they can't go to the bathroom until the next pass, and if they make you hold on, they should at least let you know. Make sure I can enter since there was a line in the bathroom (Since some diners got up without warning and those of us who were respectful of the rules were told to wait) 5- This seems terrible to me 😩 we ordered a very special Champagne, the waiter made a mistake and poured into the last glass that we had a little left from the one on the next table that had nothing to do with quality and of course the mix was Horrible and the last drink bothered me. 6- When some got up they folded the napkin, others didn't. 7- They charged us for an extra bottle of water but since they had already got the menu wrong they were not able to recognize it so we paid for it. 8-They left the empty butter dish on the table for 6 passes until I told them they could take it now. 9- They put Sake in an IKEA glass. 10-They give you the oil and they don't even tell you where it comes from or the type of olive. I could go on but it's unfortunate...we won't be back. Price €490 (10 passes) €544 (14 passes) be careful we ordered a champagne for €150.

What a wonderful experience. We booked and requested the 8 moments tasting menu as vegetarian with some fish. They accommodated everything without any fuss and made us feel special yet were friendly and warm. Each tiny course was a work of art and tasted delicious. Can’t fault a thing. Lovely wine, service outstanding in gorgeous surroundings. And at 80€ pp plus drinks for a 2 Michelin star restaurant, extremely good value

Be the first to ReplyFantastic food, and personal service
The food here was excellent. It came recommended from someone who worked with the team in Portugual, and I was not disappointed. Do not go in expecting heaping portions, but do expect inventive, clean flavors that are well orchestrated. The new chef is doing wonderful things, and the staff was friendly and informative. I felt well taken care of at each step, and do recommend it highly!

Michelin Magnificence in Madrid
Just back from an amazing dining extravaganza at the One Michelin Starred Club Allard here in Madrid. It’s located in an historic building full of antiques, with soaring ceilings, oozing with charm. We began our adventure with rose champagne and they provided the first of many amuse -bouches. This one highlighted cod crisps with herb and seaweed accoutrements. They also provided an additional treat, served on a sculpture that simulated the symbol of Madrid; a bear eating the fruit from the Madrono tree. These delectables included a cod ball, a warm, liquid, lightly encrusted ham and cheese ball, and a sandwich of squid. All a pure delight!
Our sommelier and exquisite entertainer for the evening, Alboro, helped us select a lovely white; a Rioja, Que Bonito Casa Reaba. It was a full bodied white that reminded us of a Chassagne Montrachet. It held up perfectly with all the courses to come. This restaurant offers several tasting menus to suit the seasons and freshest ingredients available. What is also really accessible is there are ala carte offerings. You may choose half portions or whole portions, mixing and matching as you like. After discussing portion sizes, we ended up selecting two half portion starters and two half portion entrees. We chose the Gastronomia 2012 Bollota ham
which was perfect with the crusty bread and olive oil from the south of Spain. This was followed by a second half portion appetizer of Andignac foie gras medallion with duck juice and citric. AMAZING! This was also paired with a black truffle brioche dinner roll.
The combination was perfection.
Proceeding onto our first half entree, we chose the turbot, served on a bed of samphire greens and spinach, with a fumet and toasted corn reduction. We chased this delight with a sake infused with a reduced fish bone elixir. Quite special and unusual. Turbot is always a treat if not over-cooked and this was among the best we have ever had.
What followed was a real surprise. Alboro asked us to join him upstairs, just off the kitchen. He shared two glasses of a fine dry sherry with us until Batiste, assistant chef, joined us in this circular room with a table prepped with an array of ingredients.
He served daikon two ways augmented with Japanese spices, seaweed and wasabi. Then, we sampled Spanish beef that had been dry aged and then marinated in miso for additional time. The final product was very “wagyu” like and delicious. What a special treat!
Our second half entree was Wild Roe deer loin. It was served with pineapple, mint and salsify. Cooked to perfection and quite remarkable.
We opted not to select a dessert from the menu, but the dessert cart of complimentary elegant sweets made an appearance anyway. You can’t go wrong! Fruits, chocolate confections, petit fours, gelees, and an amazing tiramisu with manchego could not be resisted.
Alboro also helped us select a marvelous dessert wine ( Molino Real Mountain wine from Malaga) and shared another favorite of his from Tenerife ( Vinatigo Malvasia Aromatica Clasico) in the Canary Islands.
Thanks to the whole team that made this such a delightful evening for us! Special kudos to Alboro, Miguel and Batiste!
Showmanship, Exacting Service, Kind and Friendly
We looked for many resturants to have a special dinner at during our trip to Spain and we are supremely happy we found Club Allard. The building outdoors is beautiful, (once construction is done in 2021 on Plaza de Espana an absolutely premier location but did not hurt the experience).
We arrived for our reservation with 2 other parties at opening time...9pm...late for us but normal for the Spanish. They obviosuly knew we were American and gave us our menu translated best as possible into English. (I am paying particular attention to this part of the review because I saw many negative comments on Trip Advisor about them not speaking English, sadly some forget they are in Spain.) They also asked if we preferred English or Spanish, we opted for them to speak to us in Spanish until we ask a question. The night contiued in "Spanglish" between us the servers, Maitre, and tableside cooks, a couple times they immediately went to English and then started over in Spanish after remembering our request. Quite fun.
Wine list was extensive, and once we nearly finished our bottle the Maitre brought over a few more glasses of wine for us to try and decide what we liked to pair with final few coures. The night had started with a complimentary champage, and amuse bouche. Night finished with 3 courses of dessert and digestif. In between there were 3 tableside cooking presenations and the most unique presentation of a mussel cooked inside of a sour dough mini loaf. How did they even come up with that?
Alvaro the F&B director spent time at all of the tables and quite a bit with us. He walked us out to the cab back to our hotel and even gave us recommendations of restaurants in other cities wed be visiting. I could continue on but honestly no need, if in Madrid worth the investment on yourself.
