Elmer's Restaurant (Palm Springs, CA) Reviews from The Last Year
Wow,,,, outstanding,,,,, great food, plenty of parking.
Service by Donaldo was outstanding! Also, helpful with some directions and suggestions for walking, Highly recommended, you will not be disappointed!
My work team and I showed up to eat breakfast since it was
My work team and I showed up to eat breakfast since it was only a block away from our hotel, the server that my table had was very rude and right before one of my coworkers and I could order another server forced us to move to a different table after they had gotten us a table for 9. I wouldn't recommend this business at all due to the service.
Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of Elmer's -
Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of Elmer's - with my first of multiple visits being the Elmer's in Tigard, Oregon. When my BFF came to visit from Cape Cod, this was one of the first breakfast spots we went to as we started our touristy day ... and it did not disappoint! Parking was great and no hassle ... but as soon as we got there we could see it was packed and throngs of folks kept streaming in. I was worried about what the wait time was going to be - but thankfully - the Elmer's crew is more than up for the challenge of handling breakfast time rushes and low and behold we were seated immediately in a comfortable booth - and greeted shortly after by their amazing and friendly waitstaff. We both ordered the German Pancake breakfast ... served with two eggs. Absolutely egg-selent. Restaurant was attractive and had a mid-century cool vibe. Even their bathrooms were super clean and well maintained. This is one restaurant that just knows how to do everything right from start to finish. Friendly attentive staff, fast efficient service, good food, cool vibe, super clean ... raving about Elmer's!
This is a really great diner in Palm Springs.
I've come here a few times, as a local I really enjoy this spot. Their steak and eggs is absolutely superb! Of course, you have to try their German pancake, but another trick is that you can order their lingonberry cottage cheese spread on the side and spread it on your toast without having to commit to a giant German pancake and it is still really delicious! They also serve alcohol, so have a designated driver!
Tasty breakfast and good service
Massive servings, I had the lingonberry German pancake and it was delicious. The lingonberry butter put it over the top, I'm still thinking about it. Lol It comes with eggs and meat and honestly, they don't need to be there because it's just too much. But it was delish! It was busy, but they moved people through efficiently. The service was excellent. I would recommend it for breakfast or brunch.
Delicious Dutch babies and mimosas.
This place is like a Denny's but actually super good....
Outstanding food and terrific service.
Get the German pancake to share at the table, with preserves and lemon. It was wow.
Best damn breakfast in Palm Springs!! Local charm, amazing
Best damn breakfast in Palm Springs!! Local charm, amazing servers. I never miss a chance to eat here!
4.5 stars - great food but I'd put Wilma's slightly higher
4.5 stars - great food but I'd put Wilma's slightly higher on the ranking. Server was friendly and on it with drink refills, portions were generous, and food came quickly. If you have allergies make sure to specify this because I had a few rogue mushrooms in my ham and cheese omelette (not an issue for me, but just a heads up). My husband enjoyed his crab benedict and the pancakes were yummy. Maybe not the best meal before hitting the pool but I have no regrets.
I always heard good things about this place and I finally
I always heard good things about this place and I finally went to try it out. The food was excellent! I had the Chorizo Benedict and I can't wait to have it again! Delish!
elmers glue.
. am I right! lol kidding but the food is pretty good. get the german pancake!!! came for a dinner, was craving breakfast for dinner type of day. Alot quieter than a busy breakfast morning, but somehow the food still took like 30 minutes to get here. cannot complain tho, food was above average breakfast food. service was ok, staff was nice but rarely checked in on us. would come again maybe if I was in the area looking for a nice diner to visit.
Tasty food, professional staff
Service was great at this restaurant: friendly and efficient. The food was pretty good overall- some things better than others. The German pancakes were a highlight.
Good diner food with an extensive menu and breakfast all day
We came here for one reason, I saw a picture of the cinnamon roll pancakes and had to try them. I was not disappointed. I only ordered a half portion which was plenty (two pancakes). The waiter also brought me double cream cheese frosting which was really good. I had a side of hash browns and those were just ok but it was a large portion. My wife had the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and green beans. She loved the green beans the most and the turkey was moist. Overall a quality meal.
Good Breakfast
My husband and i stopped here for breakfast on our way to the Aerial Tram. It was pretty busy, but we were seated quickly. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The food was pretty good. I had the German pancake platter. The pancake is light with lemon and sugar. My husband had eggs benedict. We enjoyed our breakfast.
Wish I had gone somewhere else
My family and I looked forward to eating at Elmer's restaurant since we had visited 2 years before. The food was reasonably priced and the kids enjoyed the food which is hard to find. However, our experience was anything but satisfactory. We had anticipated the homemade milkshakes and looked forward to those all day. But, we were told the new owner had come in October and revamped the menu and took milkshakes off the menu. Given it was late we stayed anyway. The kids ages 14 and 10 were tired an hungry. I was torn between a Rueben and breakfast but I hadn't had a good Rueben in a while and ordered. First of all everyone knows a Rueben is GRILLED. This wasn't. It came a little burnt and just toasted the grisly corned beef was heated in a microwave which turned it into rubber and overheated. It was inedible. I took off the meat and just ate a sauerkraut toasted sandwich. It was too late and we had to get the girls to bed. My granddaughter who order pancakes had to wait until we were leaving to get the grapes that came with her order. I felt sorry for the waiter, he was trying his best but you could tell he had been there for a long time and the new owner was making it difficult for him to earn a living.
Great side trip recommendation
We were looking for a place to stop on our drive from Sedona to Lax . We decided Palm Springs was close enough to get to the airport on time but far enough for a sensible break also. The food was delicious, the service friendly as advertised and the prices and parking easy. Definitely recommend for all travellers
Great Food, Great Service
Family of 5 visited on a Friday morning for Brunch. We were quickly seated after being given the option to dine inside or outside. Alex was our server and was great to deal with. The menu was extensive and he talked us through a couple of questions we had and was very patient while we deliberated on our final orders. Pleasingly, there were several gluten-free options to choose from and Alex kindly swapped out the biscuit for fruit on one particular dish. The meals were served promptly, were flavorsome, and of very generous proportions that kept us going all day. Would definitely recommend Elmers.
So-so
This hip-looking neo-diner seems to specialize in breakfast-type fare. My half sandwich of ham and cheese was pretty bland, and the salad that accompanied it was ordinary and small. My wife said her cobb salad was good and the portion large. Prices were high--usual for Palm Springs. Service was very slow, especially since we got there after 1:30 p.m.
Brunch spot in Palm Springs
We were looking for a nice family restaurant for brunch on the last day of our vacation. Elmer's was just lovely. We sat on an outside patio which was not noisy. Service was very good and the food was excellent.
GOOD BREAKFAST
Very good food, a bit noisy. Good outside area. The breakfast was good, not great. Service was good not great. Reasonable costs
