Fantastic restaurant with great view of the capital
Fantastic restaurant. We started with cocktails at the bar which were excellent, and you get a gorgeous view of the Capital from there. The food is inventive and delicious. It's a tapas style restaurant and the portions are large so keep that in mind when ordering. Service was great and the staff is very friendly. Great all-around!

This restaurant is gorgeous. The view is stunning, the ambiance perfection, the staff knowledgeable, and the cocktails on point!!!

Such an amazing taste bud experience! Fabulous location in downtown facing the capital. The evening lights are enchanting! Restaurant is romantic & classy. The chefs outdid the food presentation. Hard to eat it looked so good. We decided to share our food so we could taste all of our choices. We ordered: charred cauliflower, tuna poke ( two orders because it was so good), goat cheese tortellini, lamb meatballs & the pork tenderloin. We enjoyed them all! Beautiful flavors. Thank you! Will be back for sure.

Eno Vino downtown is not only beautiful and sophisticated, but approachable. Perfect night to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. As these are shareable dishes we ordered 5, to get a good variety, and they kindly gave us a dessert for free. We ordered the chicken thigh kebabs, bistro filet, ahi tuna, pork tenderloin, lamb meatballs. The desert was the bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream. From the first bite, I knew this meal was not going to disappoint. The glazes and sauces complimented each dish and only enhanced the dish, never taking front and center over the protein. Each dish was plated as a painting. The food was perfectly cooked, perfectly timed. We never felt like we were getting too much. Our waiter was super attentive and kind. I would suggest the ahi tuna dish and lamb meatballs, actually I recommend everything. The view from the restaurant as it is on the 10th floor of the hotel, is breathtaking. Should we return to the Madison area, this will remind on top list.

Order a beef filet. Extremely dry and the most tasteless piece of meet Iโve ever had. It seemed past itโs safe date. They were nice enough about it but the food here is terrible.
Be the first to ReplyDonโt tell them the wine is bad!
The food was delicious and the setting is magical with the view of the Wisconsin State Capitol. The reason I give a 3 is that when we condemned a bottle of wine for being bad, rather than bring us another bottle, the manager came out and tried to convince us that it wasnโt a bad bottle of wine and that our tastes arenโt quite sophisticated enough to enjoy a wine like that. We told him that 5 days before we had the identical bottle elsewhere and this one has turned, but he assured us that it was our tastes and not the bottle. 1 out of 10 bottles (corked) are naturally bad, so it wasnโt the restaurants fault at all. But how they handled it, not so great.

Make sure you have a reservation, as this place was crowded on a weeknight. This was a beautiful place with fabulous views of the capitol and lakes from the 10th floor location. Ordering small plates to share was a new experience, though our great server explained that they usually recommend two plates per person. The green beans served with cashews in a Thai peanut sauce were the highlight of our meal! We enjoyed our food and will probably return when we want a higher end dining experience in Madison. (Ladies, be sure to check out the beautiful womenโs restroom!)
Be the first to ReplyShocked it was so disappointing
I ate here when it first opened, and it was amazing. Yesterday night, was disappointing to say the least. I NEVER go out to eat anymore these days, as I am disabled, so can't afford finer dining and stay away in general bc of my health and Covid. The last time I went out to eat was 12 months ago, for my lady's birthday, so it was a big deal to take her out for her bday again this year. I looked at online pictures of the food for about a month and had our picks so ready....she left hungry with basically only eating some odd carrots despite 4 dishes ordered. We got the langoustine risotto. That was the one dish that I thought was very good. She had a few bites of risotto, but wasn't having it; I guess that isn't your fault, just not her preference I guess. Unfortunately, the rest was subpar. The heirloom carrots had so many flavors that seemed to contradict each other with each bite. Sometimes it was spicy; sometimes an overly strong five spice or garam masala flavor? sometimes Latin flavors? sometimes just so complex it left you wondering what you were eating. The onions over dominated your tastebuds initially, and was tough to enjoy. We also ordered the two steak dishes on the bottom of the menu. We were so pumped for it....horrible. Really? Yes. Both Extremely over-salted. We made it known that one was for me (med rare), and hers would be medium well. Mine came first, cooked right inside, but each bite had an over charred flavor. That's all I tasted. And you guys should give out steak knives when served, as the knife provided was very dull and was not enjoyable sawing or pushing thru the steak to cut up, despite not really being a tough piece of meat. The Romano potatoes had a funky flavor that just tasted like the earth or something. I have never not finished mash potatoes out for dinner, especially with any cheese in them, and honestly stopped after I actually gagged on the last two bites. Still trying to put on a smile for my lady....as she watched me eat my steak and hers came after I was done. It was still raw in the middle, nowhere near med-well. Our waitress, was very concerned and looked shocked and commented that it was almost blue it was so raw. She took it back. 10 minutes later, another came back, still very very red in the middle. She didn't touch it. She had enough and was just frustrated. I felt so uncomfortable for her. So she basically ate some odd carrots and went home hungry. It was much appreciated that the waitress comped her steak, and gave her some dessert to go home with. Kudos to her, she was the only thing positive last night except for the ambiance. So disappointing however.
Be the first to ReplyBad service, meh value
Was there for a business dinner. The main dining hall is scenic (great view of the Capitol) but quite noisy; the bar area was very noisy. We needed some flexibility, and the interaction with the host was not great. One member of our party was vegan, ordered from the vegan menu. His order of vegan fries was brought in with cheese on top; after these were sent back, his order of vegan salad was brought in with bacon. Other than this major hiccup, service was mediocre. Food was pretty good, although portions are small and several dishes are not remarkable at this price point. Won't be going back, plenty of great options in Madison for the budget.

We can understand a price hike post covid and given staffing issues, however, this is over the top!! Example; scallop share plate was 3 scallops and $47!! We use to come quite a bit but our tab has now doubled. We had great service but will continue to come here for an after dinner drink and leave it at that.
Be the first to ReplyGreat View Butโฆ.
The view of the Capitol all lit up is gorgeous, but the food missed the mark. It was just average, and many flavors didnโt work, such as the Thai Chicken Flatbread. I definitely would skip this one.

Listed below is our unanswered letter to Eno Vino management. We suggest you evaluate all of your restaurant choice before dining at Eno Vino. The service has fallen tremendously and the prices have increased dramatically. Ms. T we were very unhappy with the overall service. We wanted you to know as improvements cannot be made if you do not know what has happened. We recently celebrated a rare date night out at Eno Vino Downtown at 1 North Webster Street at 10:15 pm on Saturday, October 23rd. We want to provide feedback on the dining experience. In summary, the staff performed below the standard we have come to expect at Eno Vino. We have patronized the restaurant on the Westside of town since its grand opening and have patronized the downtown location periodically since it opened. Please see a synopsis of our recent visit to your downtown location. Eno Vino is listed as having dining until 1:00 am. Earlier in the day we attempted to make reservations on Opentable for an 11:00pm dining table, but their system indicated there were no booking within 2.5 hours on either side of 11pm time. Unclear if the reservation system was not working or if there were no availability between 11pm & 1am at 10:15pm we decided to drop in after our show. While my husband parked the car, I arrived at the restaurant closer to 10:15 pm and asked for a table for two for dinner. I was advised I could sit at the bar or at the window. My husband and I were anticipating having a full dinner and not just cocktails I inquired to the host a second time to see if there was an available table. At the time of my request the dining room was half empty. Again, the two hosts told me to go find something at the bar for dinner. I made my way to the window bar top overlooking the capital and people watched while I waited for my husband to arrive. During my sitting, I did see a couple get seated, so when my husband arrived I advised him that the dining room was half full even-though I had been told there were no tables available for dinner. He went to the host to inquire about availability of tables in a partially filled dining room and about being seated at a table. First he was told there were no tables available, then he was told that he would need to make a 10:30pm reservation by calling the restaurant even though he was speaking with the host. Then he was told by the host that there was a table in the bar next to the fireplace. All while watching the host seat another couple in the dinning room. The waitress (T) was helpful in escorting us to the fireplace area and setting us up at a table. She patiently listened to our concerns then wished us a better evening and left the table. This area was completely empty, so we had to question why the gentlemen at the front would not have escorted or directed us to this area instead of directing me to a crowded bar area. This became more of a question as we saw other guests getting escorted to the tables in this fireplace area after we were seated. Our server and tried to get the evening back on the right track. Unfortunately that did not happen. There seems to be a concept that as we are not in the dining room, the service does not need to be at the same level as in the dining room. This concerned us as the dining room menu and pricing are the same so the service should be the same. Please let me provide details: We ordered a bottle of Moscato d'asti which we consider a celebration wine served in flutes, great for toasting. server brought the ice bucket and bottle and worked through opening the bottle. Typically the cork is presented to the person ordering the wine and a taste is poured so the guest can confirm that this specific bottle meets expectation. Effervescent white wines do not age well and can go bad if not kept cold, so this tasting formality is important. Server skipped the formality and just poured us the first glass. Server missed the water glasses going empty. Server also did not refill the wine glasses until we asked toward the end of the meal why they were not getting refilled. She refilled my husband's glass with the remaining wine and indicated she does not usually refill after the first pour in the bar area. When our first tapas arrived we had no silverware/plates. Bus boy delivering the food asked if we would want plates in addition to silverware. When we inquired how the 15% added service change impacted her directly, she indicated the staff reference was more related to the kitchen staff wages and not hers. This now has us thinking Eno Vino has underpaid their staff previously and now the current guests are penalized for previous poor payment of wages. The man returned to our table with the associate bar manager to review our experience with Eno Vino for the evening and to let us know they had removed the 15% surcharge from the bill. While we appreciated the thought, we did not see that as an encouragement to come back to the restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyRecommended for an upscale cocktail spot
A great spot to enjoy a happy hour cocktail with friends during our visit to Madison. The ambiance is clean and modern, with large windows all around to overlook the two lakes and the Capitol building. We sat at a couch and chairs near the fireplace in a very comfortable setting. The flatbread was tasty and gave the 5 of us a couple pieces each. My Side Piece cocktail was unique and oh so delicious.
Be the first to ReplyGreat view, service was disappointing and pricey dinner with people right on top of you
Service was lacking but the food and ambiance was excellent. Service: We had empty drinks for a long period of time during our meal and we actually had to ask for the dessert menu. Also, the food delivery timing was off. It was a significant anniversary that we noted in our reservation and was not recognized. I had much higher expectations for the price they were charging. The service was professional, but not timely at all during the whole meal. Pack'em in: We were also right next to a couple so we could both hear our conversations. (Our tables were 2 feet apart.) No privacy whatsoever. I'd definitely stick with the Junction Rd. location instead. The view was great of both the Capital and Lake Mendota so we got some good pictures. Go here for the ambiance and the food quality, but not the service or privacy.

You cannot beat this restaurantโs setting. Amazing views of the capital with many large windows. Food and drinks are outstanding. Food may be a tiny bit overpriced but itโs made up for with the views and ambiance.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing view, good selection, but pricey
My husband and I had a great trip to Eno Vino after having to reserve our preferred time weeks in advance. We arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately. It took a few minutes to meet our waitress, but she was very kind and professional. We waited longer than expected for our drinks, but it was certainly not unreasonable. Since we knew which plates we wanted to order, we ordered all 4 plates at one time with the expectation that they would be spread out across our visit as they often are at other tapas restaurants. We received our first two dishes only a few minutes apart; speedy service would not normally be something to complain about, but given that we were at a 2-person table, we quickly ran out of room. Our first two dishes were the truffle fries (HIGHLY recommend) and the Brussels sprouts. The Brussels sprouts appeared to be sauteed, not fried (the menu had not specified either method, but we typically find fried Brussels sprouts at nice restaurants!), and they had a nice spicy kick that wasn't overpowering (in our opinions). The plates were cleared and we then received our pork tacos. DELICIOUS and flavorful and balanced. Later yet (a far longer wait than any of the previous dishes) we received the sea bass and scallops. This dish was beautifully prepared but in my opinion, the portion size was NOT worth the $40+ price tag (for the 2 scallops and small sea bass filet!). We will absolutely return someday, but will probably order our plates individually and steer clear of the highest priced items! We received excellent service, however, and were impressed that the staff were consistently wearing masks. I look forward to trying some wines from their extensive collection, but we were super happy with our cocktails. Also, amazing views from the women's restroom!

Wonderful place that overlooks the Wisconsin State Capitol Building. Vibrant Tapas restaurant and bar. I had requested a view of the capitol when I made a reservation and they delivered. My husband and I shared four dishes: garlic prawns, short ribs with an orange glaze, goat cheese tortellini with chorizo, and our favorite, the spicy fried calamari. Highly recommend! Make sure to get a reservation
