10/10 One of the best asada tacos in town.
Handmade tortillas, smokey bbq'd asada, and creamy guacamole salsa. Go when they're less busy. I only order the asada because I see them bbq it fresh. Service is on point too, nice workers.
Be the first to ReplyThey have always been on point on food.
Service is phenomenal. I'm so glad they are at Angel City now.
Be the first to ReplyI see that a lot of happy people love this truck.
I visited this place after going to the Arts District Brewery and had to throw the tacos away. It's the worst street/food truck taco I've ever had living in Los Angeles, actually scratch that, the worst taco I've ever had anywhere in the world. I don't know what kind of fail you have to do to mess up a street taco so darn bad but this place takes the cake. But hey, know what, seeing how it looks like my experience isn't the norm for this place. I'll tell you what not to get and maybe you'll have better luck than me. Avoid the carnitas and pastor tacos. The meat straight-up in both tasted extremely old. It shouldn't have been served but it was because they didn't want to throw it away and wanted to make a buck. Now I know why though, it tastes so bad no one wants to order it. If you want REALLY GOOD tacos, the other taco truck by the Arts District Brewery, Chevillos (that one that plays the lowest Mexican music in the universe on Friday night, yes, that one) their tacos are very very good. I've never had a freaking old taco from them, they're great. They make fresh tacos for crying out loud that gives your body the satisfaction it requires after a few beers. Good luck.

Great fish and shrimp tacos; super clean and fresh foods coming from a truck. All their seafood menu selections are excellent. Wish they didn't have to supplement with the standard pastor/asada, but this is LA.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing food.
I've tried their agua jokes, ostiones preparados, and tostada mixta. All were simply amazing. They are also open late!

Always get the California burrito whenever this food truck is around. I haven't tried anything else other the churros, which are also wonderful. Their outdoor setup is pretty good for a pop up truck. I recommend texting them if you're coming before 6pm to make sure the truck is there and open. Their hours of operation on Yelp are inaccurate as they're rarely open before 6pm.

A great taco truck to stumble upon on your way to/from the bars in the area. We had a California burrito and tostada mixta. Both were excellent, the seafood was fresh, even the raw pieces. Perfect two items to share!

If you're ever in Little Tokyo and happen to travel across Alameda into the Arts district, the first taco truck you will see is Dona Estela. They have a variety of Mexican food to choose from on the late night munchies hunt. I'm particular to their burritos and burrito bowls, but they also have tacos, ceviche, and even vegan and vegetarian options. One night they had someone outside of the stirring up a giant jug of pink lemonade. I had to get some and it was reeeeeeeeefreshing. If you've ever been in the area, there are about 4 different taco trucks, in my opinion, Dona Estela has the best FOOD.

Tried the truck out again after the business owner reached out and I have to say they've done well. Really good food and the crew is helpful and friendly.

Fish tacos are bomb! Pretty fast service, I rarely see a lot of people here, unless it's 11:30pm at night lol. The ceviche is alright, I've tried their shrimp (camaron) both raw and cooked, definitely think the cooked version is more palatable if you're not used to raw shrimp. Fish (pescado) ceviche is also good. Tacos are really where they shine though. Fish is always tender and perfectly fried. I personally think that the flour tortillas are better for these, since the corn tortilla flavor can be a little overpowering. They have a salsa/limes/toppings bar there, if you ask for your items to-go, you might want to pack a few limes and salsa containers with you as they don't always include those in the takeout orders. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!

Great food truck! Tacos are delicious will come back to try the shrimp Coctel. Nice that it's next to many bars, quick snack in between bar hopping
Be the first to ReplyGot a california burrito and am so disappointed.
There are no prices on the menu, so I was not expecting to pay $18 for a CA burrito. I've literally never spent that much on a burrito in my life. I spent my time waiting for my order trying to come up with reasons why it's $18. Maybe it's huge. Maybe it gives me super powers. But nope. Very normal sized burrito. Absolutely nothing special for $18.

Used to come here often with my friends after having drinks at ACB across the street and we used to all agree they were the best tacos around. Sadly many businesses have downgraded their quality of meat to save money and they don't taste the same way they used to. Came here 2x in the last month with my gf and she was not impressed. Asada burrito tasted bland, tacos same. Chicken flautas were extra salty too. Walked the next block over to our car and we saw a big crowd around another taco truck. She told me as we passed by :"hubieramos venido aqui pero tu quisiste tus pinchis Dona tacos " lmao
Be the first to ReplyGreat seafood.
You can tell the guys really care about what they do. I highly recommend this spot.

..decided to give it a try. Looked like they had a huge menu. I just wanted a few tacos. I asked how much the tacos were. The lady told me 2 dollars plus tax...I should of taken that as a red flag. Who charges tax on a street taco. So I went through with it an got asada an pastor. I usually pay cash but was a little short so I pulled out the debit card.. that was an extra dollar charge...at this point I was just like ok..I'm hungry. The tacos came out. And they were just a normal regular taco . No love ,look like could of made it at home. The tortilla was dry as hell not even alittle bit of oil or taco grease. It suprised me that they had a lady standing there with a big ball of masa looking like she was gonna make some fresh tortillas. But no I was served the store brand tortillas. I guess my 2 dollars plus tax doesn't get you the real stuff. I concluded I will pass on this place next time I come through art district. Don't waste your time with this spot. Not good tacos.

Be the first to ReplyReally amazing.
In the heart of downtown you can expect something truly delicious at a reasonable price. The line might be long when you arrive but when you bite into your food you'll understand why.
Be the first to ReplyBomb *** authentic tacos! So much flavor.
The men working this truck are putting in the WORKS and deserve all the business. 3 tacos were roughly $6-7. I will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area. They are located on S. Alameda St. They also offer lots of different seafood options. I ordered the carnitas tacos and the carnitas had a nice crisp- just like eating pernil during holidays.

This was my first time stopping to try Doña Estela food truck food. I pass by this place every day on my way home from work and finally decided to stop by and I'm am happy I did. This place is a hidden gem.I tried their tostada de Aguachiles Rojo is was so good with great taste. I'm a huge Mariscos fan and if I tell you the tostada was good it means it was really good. They have outside seating with shade and service is great. I will definitely be stopping more often and eventually trying their whole menu
Be the first to ReplyLove the al pastor here! Great as fries or a burrito.
I also like their crispy shrimp tacos.

Delicious! We randomly ran into this spot on our way to a brewery. We got the California burrito, surf & turf burrito and tostada agua chile. Food was ready within 10 minutes and it was amazing. The guacamole sauce and red sauce complimented each burrito perfectly. Wish we had more stomach space to try other items.

Food was not bad, but they only gave us one item out of the four in our order. When I went back, they were standoffish when I brought this up. There are plenty of other food trucks on the block offering similar food, so they may not be worth the hassle next time.
Be the first to ReplyDecent fish tacos.
Overall the prices are on the high side and, probably for that reason, must be requested as they are not written anywhere. When you pay cash, they charge you the sales tax, as they should, but do not provide a receipt that show the paid taxes. They just hand a narrow tab with the number on it, with nothing written on it.I am wondering if this is legal and if the paid taxes on cash payments are forwarded to the sales tax agency.
