A real treat to stumble upon
Fell upon this place on a Sunday afternoon. We were with a couple with two very young children ( strollers, high chairs). Where some restaurants would just say they were full, we were pleasantly seated outside, where we wanted to be, and enjoyed an excellent lunch. All the dishes we were well prepared and seasoned. Well varied assortment of starters and main dishes. Special kudos for their wine list ( even though they were out of stock of our first choice). Excellent service. A real treat to stumble upon.

To the Evvia management team: This is the best restaurant in Palo Alto so I was shocked to be seated right next to a member of your team who had his laptop, landline, notebook, paperwork, and tape dispenser out on a table. He was taking reservation calls 2 feet from my head. Horribly unprofessional. This person knows nothing about how to run a restaurant and to welcome guests to a $100 per person meal.
Be the first to ReplyThis was my first time going here and I will be back most likely. The service is good and the food is wonderful.
Evvia is a good place for dinner. The spanikopita ita is flaky and delicious. I loved the ravioli with mushrooms and cheese

Great greek restaurant downtown Melo Park with 2 parking lots on the street in addition to street parking. There were no reservations available online for the time I was going to be in the area. When I called the gentleman who answered told me to come over and they would probably be able to accommodate me and they did! So glad I got to try it. I had saganaki, my favorite, grilled prawns and roasted branzino (Mediterranean sea bass) my other favorite. The is no cocktail menu but they have a full bar and can make almost anything. For desert, I ordered the cheese cake desert special to go. I think the crust was a crunchy roasted coconut crust and it was topped with strawberry rhubarb reduction drizzle. It was very good the next day for breakfast- hope it gets added to the regular menu. I get why it is ranked so well on TA and highly recommend a visit during your stay in the area.

We ordered 2 Old Fashions, Greek Salad, Mousaka + Lamb Chops. All artfully presented + deeply flavorful. I could eat here every single night...

Well, it being rated the #1 restaurant in Palo Alto explains why Evvia was packed (tho my collegue and I did show up at the top of the lunch hour!). Only complaint are the hefty prices but it's upscale Northern California - why am I surprised? Hostess was charming and squeezed us in at the end of a big family style table. It was fine. Had an Aperol Spritzer at the bar. Yum! We both ordered fish for our lunch with saganaki as an appetizer. All delicious. Service was attentive. There were many things I would have liked to have ordered on the menu so next time I'm in town......

Our meal was close to perfect, starting with a fig pistachio appetizer, then salad and branzino. Ambience snd service were excellent. Wine was great. Dessert was the delicious house specialty - a custard filled pastry. This is a destination restaurant, not to be missed if in Palo Alto.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food and service, felt a little rushed, a bit pricey
We went for our anniversary dinner and really enjoyed the food. We shared two appetizers, one excellent and the other fine but a little small. I had a whole fish dish and my wife had a lamb dish. I found my fish very good but wasn't thrilled with the accompanying vegetable (but I'm not a fan of spinach), she found hers excellent. We also had two desserts, both very good. Service was friendly and despite a full house very quick, but I did feel a little rushed. Price point was a little high but apps, drinks and dessert were in line with other restaurants, only entrees ran high. We were offered our choice of indoor or outdoor seating, but as the indoors was pretty packed we opted for outdoor. Although this was street tent seating they did a very nice job of making it feel very welcoming including lighted plants and trees, etc. It didn't feel 2nd class.

Excellent location downtown. Great for dinner with our college son and my husband and I set on the patio for late lunch. Amazing food and loved the atmosphere. It is one of the best restaurants in downtown Palo Alto.
Be the first to ReplyAverage food
The restaurant is located at a prime location in Palo Alto downtown next to university avenue. Ambience is super nice. I wasnโt very impressed with the food though, it tasted average. Salmon was great as it was cooked to perfection as I requested, I wasnโt a big fan of red gravy they added on top of it. Calamari is as average as you would get in a regular fast food restaurant, you are just paying higher price as itโs served in a nice restaurant. Other appetizers were okay too. I wouldnโt want to make a repeat visit here. Plenty parking available on streets and nearby free parking lots (free for 2 hours until 5 pm, Mon- Fri)
Be the first to ReplyGreat food AND great service
We were a group of 8 dining in the evening. The noiselvel was a little challenging, but this was easily offset by the delicoius food and great service. We tried pretty most all of the menu!
Be the first to ReplyAWESOME food! Must come and see!!
SUMMARY. This place was great! I came here with my family (8 of us, including one infant), and we ordered several apps, entrรฉes and desserts to share family-style. The food was delectable, and everyone loved every morsel. RESERVATION. We had a large party, so we made a reservation about a week or two out. AMBIENCE. We ate on the patio. There were heaters for warmth. It was a very nice experience. Traditional with very chill vibes. The inside also looked very inviting, but I cannot comment on that part of the experience because we ate outdoors. QUALITY. The quality of the food was AMAZING. Everything tasted so good! We tried several appetizers, including the bacon Brussels and saganaki. We ordered steak, lamb, and chicken entrรฉesโall were incredible. We ordered three out of the four desserts as well, and they were all top notch. Not a single member of the party had anything but glowing reviews for every single dish on the table. SERVICE. Service was spot-on. We never waited long and a server was never too far from the table. VALUE. I cannot speak to the value, unfortunately. I live in Nashville, so everything in the Bay Areas seems expensive to me. Still, from what my brother was saying (he lives in the area), the value is quite good given the quantity and quality of food. TAKEAWAYS. Great place to come with family or on a date. Quiet, intimate setting with AMAZING food. I would definitely like to come back here the next time I am in the area! Happily, Clayton Cohn
Be the first to ReplyHow the hostess of the restaurant ruined our dining experience
Last night I had what should have been a most pleasurable dining experience turn into a humiliating disaster. I am a guest visiting from a foreign country (Greece). Evvia came highly recommended, so I made a special effort to visit and invite guests. I hosted the evening with a party of three other guests. We ordered and enjoyed a wonderful meal with drinks, starter courses, wine entrรฉe and dessert and coffee. The service and food was overall first rate. After paying the bill and while lingering over dessert/coffee, the hostess came to our table and inquired โwas everything o.k. with the meal and service? We said that indeed it was and she persisted to question us. This seemed very odd. Again we said things were fine and she said to the entire table of guest, Iโm asking because you left such a small tip. I was dumbfounded, and my wife said I think he left 15%. To which she showed EVERYONE the cash which I paid and said, no you didnโt, you left less. This was beyond belief!!!!! Is this the way a restaurant confronts its guest here in America? I was needless to say shocked and humiliated at this bizarre confrontation. Long story short, the tip was sorted out, which is not the point. The point is that what should have been handled with discretion, (if at all) made what should have been a memorable evening indeed memorable, but for all the wrong reasons!
Be the first to ReplyPerfect for a Special Occasion
We dined at Evvia for a special birthday celebration and were very pleased with the food and the service. We had a very helpful waiter who urged us to try a different starter and dessert than we had originally chosen, and we werenโt disappointed. I had souvlaki and my husband had lamb chops. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious. We had a table for two in a small quiet alcove which we welcomed because it can be a noisy restaurant. We will definitely be back again to enjoy Evvia.
Be the first to ReplyAlways a Good Choice
Evvia rarely disappoints. Just a great restaurant to go to. We go a couple of times a year when we are in town. We went two nights ago - and it was great. The fish is always a highlight. Every appetizer I have ever had there or Kokkari - a sister restaurant in SF we love - is DELICIOUS - we take friends from out of town here and it is so good. Service is always really good too - not sure how they manage it but this is a great place for lunch or dinner. I cannot pick out one particular thing because I love them all so much - branzino or sole, lamb meatballs, or lamb chops! whatever is special on the grill, the dips, the grilled octopus etc. YUM
Be the first to ReplyMost Memorable Dining Experienceโ Worth Every Penny!
Visiting Palo Alto for a few days to setup my son at a new job. We felt like Mediterranean food & had no idea how good Evvia was. Thank you TripAdvisor & Google reviews for leading us to this gem of a restaurant!! The ambience, the service, the octopus appetizer (out of this world -competes w octopus weโve had in Venice & Florence!), our 2 entrees, 1 dessert, bottle of Italian red wine recommended โ all excellent! The bill was great also LOL! Approx. US$200. with tip. But the cost was worth it! What a memorable dining experience! It was only after we left that we noticed the Michelin rating! No wonder it was fabulous! Best dinner weโve had around Palo Alto area. Will definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyDecent Greek Food. Good Service. Great Atmosphere. Expensive.
The atmosphere is great, service is fine, for the price charged I was expecting something very creative but no offense it's regular greek food at Palo Alto's prices.

Be the first to ReplyGreat Greek restaurant in downtown Palo Alto
First time i had visited this great restaurant in 15 years but was good as i remember. They have one of the best greek salads i have ever had and i had the whole sea bass. It was very good as long as you remember there is not a lot of flesh but still very good.
Be the first to ReplyVery good food and excellent service
We had dinner at Evvia for our anniversary. We've been here before but it had been a few years. We started with the zucchini fitters and prawn appetizers. The fritters are delicious, light and airy. The yogurt sauce is thick and creamy. The prawns were sweet and perfectly cooked. They were sautรฉed in olive oil with heirloom tomatoes and olives. We dipped our bread in the olive oil to get every drop. I had the oven roasted branzino for my entree. It was good but I probably would have been equally happy with the ravioli. The fish was moist but all of the seasoning was on the skin and I don't like fish skin. The roasted tomatoes, eggplant and bell peppers were the highlight for me. My husband had the lamb chops and said they were excellent. We shared the custard in phyllo for dessert. It was so good. Lots of rich custard with a strong vanilla flavor.

Evvia has opened its parklet and landscaped it for a Mediterranean feel. The service is attentive; our server warned us that one of our choices might be too
salty. Food was great and we were not rushed despite it being a busy Sunday brunch.

Very simple and to the point. THE BEST Greek Restaurant in the US!!!!!!!. Atmosphere, service, drinks( ouzo, tsiporo, wine) and the main reason to visit which is the great and perfectly prepared food like my Yiayia would prepare. In Palo Alto or San Fran, donโt miss it!

Amazing. Delightful. Perfect. The service is perfect, we were greeted with enthusiasm, the food was the star of the evening.

The four of us tried three different appetizers, entrees, and desserts and no one was disappointed. My lamb chops were wonderful, though my friends rated the appetizers as the standouts. The service was wonderful and a nice quiet ambiance.
