Ezov Austin Reviews from The Last Year

Incredible food here! The lamb kefta was to die for, and the humus melts in your mouth. You can also order a side of crudité to go with it if you would like. It's tapas style which makes the experience all the most enjoyable. The music can get a little clubby (which I thought was pretty fun and vibey) but if you are looking for a more quiet experience I would recommend sitting outside on their patio.
We went to Ezov on a Friday night around 7.
I had been wanting to go for a while and definitely felt the hype about this place. It's decorated so well inside and even outside - love the graffiti. I got the tom selek and I love mezcal and beets but I feel like the sweetness could've been turned up a bit since it also had pineapple in it but overall a good drink, more on the beet side. We started with the crudo (amazing, loved the pistachios and pomegranate) the smashing cucumbers (honestly we could not finish it :( it was such an odd combination of flavors for us). We also got the hummus with the frena (delicious!!! Just get it). We got the kofta and the chicken shawarma as well. Personally the beef kofta itself is delicious but the sides on the plate weren't our favorite. The chicken shawarma it's a huge portion and comes with delicious sides - highly recommend getting for two people to share for dinner. We were so stuffed we couldn't get dessert but the olive oil cake kept coming out to tables around and looked amazing.
Food, 5 STARS.
Service, 2 stars. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE TO COURSE YOUR FOOD OUT. They want you out of here in an hour tops. When they tell you to give them your whole order say no. Otherwise they'll bring it out 3 dishes at a time and they'll rush you through your $300 meal in an hour.
The server made some excellent suggestions.
It's a cozy spot in east austin so be prepared for parking. The food was unique with excellent that tickled the taste buds.
Ezov in Austin is an absolute must-visit for Mediterranean
Ezov in Austin is an absolute must-visit for Mediterranean cuisine lovers! Their falafel is super good--perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with just the right blend of herbs and spices. Every dish we tried was fire, from the savory kebabs to the fresh, vibrant salads. The atmosphere is lively and welcoming, and the staff go out of their way to ensure you have a great dining experience. Whether you're a falafel aficionado or new to Mediterranean flavors, Ezov delivers a memorable meal every time.
This might be the best restaurant in Austin.
I'd give my first born to eat their smashed cucumbers every day.
First time going here and the vibe service was amazing!
First time going here and the vibe service was amazing! They have valet parking and you can pay whatever you desire. When you walk into the restaurant it's a cool, colorful vibe. They were playing EDM music which was fun! My friend and I ordered a few drinks: mirage, cardahini martini, everything bagel (very strong). We loved the mirage. and cardahini. The food was delicious. The falafel was crispy, the bread was fluffy, the sauce that came with the cauliflower was amazing and the halloumi reminded me of Indian paneer, also very good. I would recommend this spot :)
Every single dish we ordered hit the mark in taste
Every single dish we ordered hit the mark in taste delivering bold and delightful flavors. The vibe was pleasantly funky yet refined. Herbivores, carnivores and omnivores alike will have a pleasurable meal. Great for date night, group dinner and everything in between. Will definitely be back.
Our dinner at Ezov was wonderful.
From the food to the service to the ambience, it was a fantastic meal. Ezov is exactly the kind of funky Israeli restaurant that I would imagine opening in Austin. The restaurant has a very casual vibe with very upscale food. We really enjoyed everything we ate: -Charred cabbage: Cabbage isn't my usual thing, but this cabbage was wonderful! I loved the yogurt sauce served with the cabbage. -Lamb hummus: This was an off-menu special for the day, and I thought it was wonderful. The restaurant is a shared-plates restaurant, but if I had to pick one dish for my own meal, it would be this one. The pomegranate seeds in the hummus were a nice surprise, and I also liked the frena bread we ordered to go with the dish. -Crudo: Very fresh, very fun with pistachios and pomegranate seeds. -Cauliflower: I love cauliflower, and this cauliflower did not disappoint. A great, savory addition to the meal. While I obviously have no complaints with my five-star review, my one suggestion would be to expand the wine list to include more Israeli or Lebanese wines--that would be fun to try!
I have been to this restaurant twice and have had a great
I have been to this restaurant twice and have had a great experience both times. To start, I ordered the Tom Selek drink. It's very unique tasting, but so good. For appetizers, you have to get the smashed cucumber dish, falafel, and hummus with frena. The cucumber with the labne is so refreshing and the falafel they make here are some of the best I've ever had. Normally, hummus is served with pita bread, but this can be ordered with frena, which is outstanding and I think even better than pita bread. For entrees, we ordered the kofta and chicken shawarma. The meat was cooked to perfection and I highly recommend trying both. They switch up their dessert offerings so for my first time I tried the bananas foster baklava and I still rave about how good it is after trying it several months ago. The second time I tried the toffee cake which was excellent as well. Please give this place a try when you're in Austin!
Excelent
Outstanding in all regards with good small plates and entrees. We especially liked the cucumber, hummus, swordfish, and the grilled lamb was exceptional. Overall a nice warm communal atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive. Wine list has breadth with unusual choices -- recommended to us was a 2009 red wine from Greece Goumenissa which had aged well.
Great Food and Service couldn’t make up for the “Club” like atmosphere.
The food and service were not “average,” although one dish was sent back due to being over salted (a very subjective complaint, I know). The grouper was stellar, perfectly cooked (and I appreciate the choice of wild caught fish on the menu). Ditto on the kanpachi crudo - some of the best crudo we’ve had in a long time. Service was outstanding. Not only was our server very good but one of the “facilitators” (as they say in the food biz, which is someone that brings out your food and drinks) actually asked if I wanted another glass of wine and put in an order for it! Unheard of and so ridiculously frustrating in America. Most of the time you have to wait for the server and then you have to wait for the bar to pour it and so on. The wine list was in the top echelon, as expected (Emmer & Rye is behind Ezov). The experience was average due to the relentless pounding loud club music that was played throughout the evening (our reservation was at 7:30). I’ve lived in Austin for 30 years so I’m used to loud music at restaurants, but music this subpar and obnoxious was clearly chosen to create a club like atmosphere. Granted, we’re an “old” couple around 60 and surely not the target audience, but I wonder if even 40 somethings could enjoy this atmosphere. The millennials were loving it but one has to wonder, at these prices, in the long run, can Ezov afford to target an audience that might not be able to afford $38 grouper on a regular basis?
Excellent Food and Service
Ezov was a real treat - upscale, unusual Mediterranean food served family style. Our server helped us make the right variety of choices and it wasn't too much or too little. The Chicken Shawarma was a hit as was the Wagyu Beef. The Falafel was a little darker that I usually like it. The drinks were well prepared and her red wine recommendation was great as well.

The site doesn't have resources to properly execute a reservation transfer. Some places allow it however the best bet is to open a chat on the listing from the seller and communicate there

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
