I visited the Hotel Feb 2023 with my partner ( 28 and 26) but had booked back in Nov 2022. Between this time I had looked up reviews and was a little concerned as they seemed very missed and was considering rebooking. A few aspects that people had reported on were the rooms, receptionist, elevator and location so I’ll give my honest opinion just to inform/reassure anyone staying here. Rooms: We booked a Queen room but were given two double beds. I’m not sure if this was mixup with the travel agent but to be honest it was great having our own beds sometimes so this was a blessing. The room was very spacious for NYC. I had seen the floor plan and I could see our room size was bigger than most on our floor. We were on the 11th floor, quite close to the rooftop bar on the 14th but we never heard anything ( from the bar). The rooms were super clean and serviced each day. The decor is dated but this didn’t bother me. You can’t open the windows which is a little strange and sounds strange to read but it’s no big deal. The windows aren’t super thick so you can hear a little bit of the hustle and bustle but again this isn’t a big deal. Reception : the guy who greeted us was friendly and helpful. We had a pay a city tax which we knew about already. It was around $90 for 4 nights. Elevator: both elevators worked fine until the last day of our stay, when we were checking out. Only one seemed to work and it was quite busy so we had a to wait a while. If you’re around floor 1-4 you’d be better taking the stairs. It was small inconvenience but not as bad as I had anticipated Location: Situated along “Kore Town” it was busy enough but seems to have a nice vibe. There were some nice places to eat along the street and nowhere as dirty or smelly as other reviews make it out to be. The hotel is super close to Times Square and Penn Station ( if you fly into Newark take the train to Penn it’s about a 4 minute walk from the Hotel) Overall I enjoyed my stay here and I would come back ( granted I had the same room )
